    nuclear is green energy?

    ok.

So you are volunteering Denmark to be the global nuclear waste repository site? Noice.

    RedRocket_Aath [2200354]

nuclear is green because it gives off that green radioactive glow lol

    Bhappychap [2270497]

Nuclear is "green" because it is the most efficient power producer to waste operation we have.

A country's entire set nuclear powerplants take less resources than even a single moderately sized wind or solar farm. Resources being the act of gathering materials, building, training people, and continued use over the years.

It is also one of the safest, when compared with coal, gas, etc.

In fact the only tricky part is waste disposal, of which is an actual concern. If we raise our nuclear capacity, the waste has a to have a good plan for cleaning/removal. While there has been advances here recently, its the elephant in the room there.

    Finwe [2610862]

Yes but in case you haven't noticed nuclear waste gives off serious amounts of radiation and is extremely dangerous especially since it takes hundreds of years to stop giving off radiation. So I would rather have gasoline than nuclear energy until they finally get fusion going

tbh you dont need to recycle the raidoactice waste if you can toss it out into space... i mean, space is radioactive... it aint gonna do any more harm up there, space is probably more radioactive than any waste we can create.
People said that about the sea. It's not about getting rid of nuke waste, it's where it ends up. The way they currently dispose of nuke waste is not dangerous necessarily, it just takes up space. Hurling it at the sun isn't really viable. The power industry doesn't have a space program.

Yup, that's what I'm talking about. It's the elephant in the room when speaking about nuclear in the long run.

Though it's not nearly as much as gas\coal pollution waste, and would have to disagree in supporting any coal\gas expansion at all.

Sustainable fusion is still impossible for the foreseeable future.
well my brother-in-law is working on it and says if we get it it will be in the next 20-40 years

He'd rather breathe in waste from power stations, rather than live miles away from a purpose built super thick lead lined facility which causes no problems.

To Finwe - How do you expect them to improve nuclear power if nobody is allowed to use nuclear power?

nuclear waste can be used as fuel in molten salt reactors.

why throw away some of the best fuel in the world? it's clean even lol.

So lets have a little soap box for everyone on this forum to let out where they stand on key issues.

capitalism or socialsm, progression or conservation, green energy like nuclear and wind or fossil fuels, immigration vs closed borders, race, and maybe some philosophic positions?

you can all format it a bit different but it would be cool if you tried to adress as many possble different beliefs as you can.

Long thread I started to read some and said ok I can't sit here all day lol..

My views span across the spectrum depending on the issue at hand.

Being in Canada I love the healthcare system, so I guess in that sense you could say I'm socialist leaning.

I also believe people should have the freedom to express themselves however they please. Kinda liberal I guess.

I also think able bodied people should have to work for a living, and not sit on "government assistance" (taxpayer assistance).

I believe we should respect everybody, regardless of race, religion, gender etc.

I do believe capitalism offers the only fair chance for people to succeed.
Just because most people don't succeed, shouldn't restrict those that do.
Big government capitalism should be regulated. It's a fine line, because obviously those with more money have more influence. We need folks in control who don't only care about money.
Money is the root of alot of evil in the world.
I just don't like the idea of everybody being equal monetarily. Because as nice as it sounds, we won't be equal up here ^, the same evil forces would still be in control. The same cast of characters that have been keeping society down wouldn't want to empower them at an equal spot as them. Instead it would be equal down here ___ and we would be working for a pittance, barely getting by. But hey, atleast we'll all be equal to each other, right?

True democracy is dead in the world. It's an illusion of choice. They pick the puppets and put on a show, we fight amongst each other about which puppet is better, and through all of our fighting the puppeteers gain more power over all of us.

There's no easy solution out of our current global crisis of power and control. We must first all unite as one and refocus our energy in the proper direction.

I upvoted you but not for the healthcare comment in Canada.

We have a lot of problems and the narratives are false. You'd have far better healthcare in Portugal than Canada.

Eh it's not perfect, but I'd much rather our system of taxpayer dollars making it accessible for all, rather than "fend for yourself when you need it"

If you think that's what the US is, you are incorrect entirely. In fact Canada's health care is ranked rather low by the WHO.

    Have a Great Day!

    Well the list doesn't lie:

    https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/best-healthcare-in-the-world

Spain is in the top 10 at 7, pretty good for a shitty country like this, USA is 37 and Canada 30, so still above the USA. 1st is the people's republic of France, they have a public healthcare system, just like the other countries in the top 10
