With Southgate as our Manager, I don't see us winning any trophies. Seems like he's scared constantly goes for the safe options...

Now Im not a southgate fan all, knowing what he does and the way the england team play its difficult to decide what I thinks gonna happen tonight.
Do you think he set the team up to go and beat Iran 6-2 imo no way i think he set them out to get the win and got lucky.
I think his game plan that he set out to play against USA worked and if we sneaked a goal then no one would be complaining.

I think he wants to win the group, he will know that wales will come out all guns blazing, so maybe more defensive bias let them blow themselves out and win it last 20 mins of the game????? 

I don't like southgate as a manager particularly but before he came along has there been any other manager since the 66 wc winning team that has been to a world cup semi and a euro final !!!!!!! I think credits due in that, not the way we play...

Under Southgate this team has gone backwards since the last WC semi and how we didnt win the Euros last time when it was set up for us to win i am still trying to work that one out.

I hope we are all wrong about Southgate in this tournament but personally  i cant see it .

Talking about past England Managers for me I think the late gr8 Bobby Robson was fantastic, i still remember Italia 90 wow what a ride that was and what a fantastic team we had back then, some still say we should have won the damn thing.

Bobby Robson was a great manager for England RIP.

Glenn Hoddle was still a great player back then but he didnt pick him for the squad. I have good memories of Italia 90.

So nearly made the final. Waddle hit the post in extra time after dancing past their full back. Waddle was a great player, he would be a £100 million player today.

So a very good performance against you have to admit a average Welsh side who only picked up a single point over the 3 games, he mixed it up abit and you have to admit we have a very strong bench.

Going to be alot tougher against a very good strong aggressive team from Senegal in the last 16 on Sunday lets just hope Southgate goes for it and doesn't go all cautious like he did against the USA, we have some very good attacking players i thought Rashford played brilliant last night.

For me so far its the usual England tournament roller coaster ride so buckle up and lets go again on Sunday

If I were welsh (which im not) id be bitterly disappointed in that performance last night, it was in their own hands to go at england, if they lost 5-3 people would have been saying how great they were.  
As it was they played terrible didn't press england at all, after bale went off at half time and rashford scored the first that was it, no way back.... 

I disagree about Robson, he was a good manager had probably the greatest team that i've ever seen and what did they achieve, nothing no finals all excuses and same old same old england flattering to achieve. I think even if we win this world cup the southgate haters would still come out and say yeah but we played defensively, we were lucky, poor manager  etc etc etc he cant win....

Well, that's that. Knew it - France are pure class. Quality!
