Despite his age Ronaldo still has it. Hes still producing great numbers and he did have a good season with Juventus last season with great numbers.

He will boost Man Utd. Possibly to the point of winning the league this season. I dont like saying that as a Liverpool fan but its true.

He is still one of the best and his presence in the dressing room will be a big motivator for the rest of the Man Utd squad.

He is a winner and a killer player. Liverpool should have gone for him.

Players of his top star ability only come about once or twice a decade.

Forum signatures make my eyes hurt so i have turned them off.

Signing back Ronaldo from Juve it's a big news for Manchester United. Hope it will bring back glory for the club. This season will be very interesting, with VVD comes back from injury Liverpool will look tougher just like the last time they win the premier league trophy, Lukaku's back to play for Chelsea and ready for challenging the league title, English World record player Grealish play for Man City to win his first trophy with the club and more.

Bad signing for all parties: Ronaldo himself, Man City, Man United... (not sure if Juve are happy that CR7 leaves).

Ronaldo should have gone to Man City if he wanted to win another PL and CL, higher chance to win there, if we are being honest.

For Man City, don't get me wrong, Ronaldo is still a good player and will get you important goals, so Ronaldo going to Man City's rival is not good for them.

For Man United, do they really need Ronaldo??? Greenwood is starting to show his potential in the No.9 role.... you stil have Cavani there, and Rashford.... and because of Ronaldo, Dan James now have to leave... a 23 years old promising-ish player having to leave for a 36 years old player who has like 1-2 years left in him... AND not to mention they also need to give play time for Sancho. Who's the top 3 now going to be if one of the spot goes to Ronaldo? The next one goes to Sancho and Greenwood? Have players on big wages like Cavani, Rashford and Martial sit on bench? A bad transfer overall imo.

Nahhh... I think favourties for this year is Chelsea, and then Man City. Only after that, it's Man United and Liverpool.

Sorry for the delayed response, forgot to check back on this post. I think Ronaldo is an incredible signing for United honestly. Greenwood is showing potential but he isn't even close to the finished article yet, for a team like United is about challenging for trophies first and developing players second. Ronaldo can help us challenge for trophies whereas Greenwood as Striker all season would essentially be sacrificing the season in order to aid his development. Add onto that the fact that Greenwood gets to spend time watching and learning from the joint best player of all time and it honestly makes up for a drop in playing time. Dan James was never going to be anything more than a fringe player and I say that as someone who actually liked him as a player (A lot of United fans didn't). He was up against Sancho, Rashford, Lingard and Greenwood for game time and not Ronaldo though. Ronaldo's signing changed nothing for Dan James - it was the Sancho signing and Lingard return that sealed his fate.

Both Ibrahimovic and Cavani were old players that did great for United and neither of them holds a candle to Ronaldo if we are being honest. Even now, at 36, Ronaldo is a top 5 player in the world. If you can add a top 5 player for ~20m then you are laughing honestly. I think there is only a single team in the PL that would have turned him down if given the chance and that would be Chelsea. Anyone else would take him in a heartbeat if they could (Obviously finances permitting)

Our ideal starting 11 for me would be:

    De Gea
    AWB
    Varane
    Maguire
    Shaw
    Pogba
    McTominay
    Rashford
    Bruno
    Sancho
    Ronaldo

    With a bench of:
    Cavani
    Greenwood
    Martial
    Lingard
    VDB
    Fred
    Matic
    Lindelof
    Telles

I think the proof will end up being in the pudding though. If United go on to win the league or champions league while Ronaldo is at the club then it was inarguably a top-quality signing

He is banging in the goals already for Man Utd. This is going to be another 40+ goal season for him.
