WICKED
Did you LOVE IT? HATE IT?? Tell me your thoughts!!!
As a long time wicked fan… I absolutely loved it. Everything about it was amazing. Ariana did amazing, Cynthia was SPECTACULAR IN EVERY WAY. I hope Jonathan Bailey stop liking men. I laughed WAY TOO HARD at the jokes!! I just loved it so much😭😭 why do we have to wait an entire year until the next one??😭
I have never seen the stage play, though other members of my family have. I've read the book, and was excited for the film... but honestly I had reservations about Ariana playing "Glinda". Those concerns were wiped out in the first five minutes of the film, as she arrives in Munchkinland.
Stellar performances by Ariana and Cynthia (who is now my favorite Elphaba EVER). The sets/costumes were incredible, and all the little easter eggs, and cameos, paying homage to the past performers, stage, and film, were just wonderful. Michelle Yeoh's "Morrible" was wonderfully wicked, and I admire her for attempting a musical. She's a phenomenal actress. I have seen it a few times now, and while it is a lengthy part 1, it really didn't feel like a 2 hr. 40 min. movie.
I'm so eager for November 2025's Part 2!

I will never lie to you. What I say is how I feel...
The book that the play is based on was written in 1995 while the Broadway musical was released in 2003
