    Considering that

    A) Neil Gaiman was heavily, heavily involved in the making of the show and made the change as there were constrictions on using "John" by Warner (he's been used in other series recently and I think there's some legal entanglements there.
    B) Johanna wasn't a cockney. you'd know if she was a cockney.
    C) I thought the show was a pretty faithful adaptation, there were always going to be technical limitations on what can be can (Sturridge makes a good Morpheus, even if he's not bone-white with star-eyes.
    D) Directors don't change characters, the writers do. Producers may influence the writing direction, but at the end of the day, the showrunner (head writer) is the one that actually dictates the show's story. Directors are only responsible for the episode they are directing., much the same way actors only say lines and don't improv the whole thing.

Oh, and if you start thinking that the TV show is "woke", you have never read the comics.

    Personally, I enjoyed it.

The show is owned by Warner Brothers, and they have done shit with the licence since the movie, so no worries...

Also, throw in a few extra bucks to get the actor who played Lucifer, make it link, makes it better...

Don't get me wrong, I love the show, but it could be better in many small ways...
Constantine was used in both his own TV show and in Legends of Tomorrow which is enough.

The Lucifer TV show was based on, but not part of, this continuity. Same base character, but separate. Plus, Lucifer is androgynous in mythos and I thought GC was a good casting choice.

Don't get me wrong, love the show, but sometimes you just wish...

I will never lie to you. What I say is how I feel...

The annoying thing is, the Sandman Constantine is closer to the actual character of John Constantine than any other. I would have loved to have seen Matt Ryan let loose as Sweary, Smokey John.

Personally, I found the fact The Corinthian didn't kill the house-sitter the weirdest change. Like... that's his whole thing. He was just feeling friendly that day? Apparently it was done to avoid the "Kill your gays" trope, but that didn't sit well with me because of how many LGBT characters in the show. Does that mean all gay characters have plot trope armor? What about the diner scene? Why is the house-sitter the only one with this plot trope armor?
