How Tarantino recontextualizes former work and makes it new. (ish)

City on fire was a classic he reworked, very early on...

He's not the only one. Have you seen Infernal Affairs or any of the endless copies of foreign cinema in Hollywood? At least Tarantino attempted to get people to see the films he borrowed from and other films outside the U.S.

Agreed, every film is either based on a book, or a (live action) remake.

thang is, quentin tarantino never said he didnt paid homage, its just that most people havnt watched much cinema, so they see one of his movies and think "oh my so dope" which it is, tbh? similar to rob zombie, also an very very good director when it comes to pay homage to stuff.

I think most individuals take inspiration from other sources. All of us do. A copycat is something else, a copycat simply copies because the individual has no skill to add pieces from their own imagination and mind. Clearly Quentins know what he is doing, which you can see from the work he has done. If he would be a copycat, everybody would know.

This person talks about it in a philosophical way, there are no clear examples or side by sides. It's just thoughts and content.

    XOXO

    PM ME IM BOORED
