Mine is Event Horizon. My friends either don't know about it or hate it and think it's tacky, but I love it so much. It has some messed up nightmare fuel, keeps the tension through the film so well, has a coherent main character that goes "nope, lets leave tf out of this place" and I think it inspired EA's Dead Space, which is also one of my fav games.Last edited by Wonwoo on 10:34:57 - 11/09/21 (3 years ago) -

I recommend https://youtu.be/uyKxW-fHdP8
Temple of Doom, because it was my first Indiana Jones film. The gore did not gross me out nor scare me. Everyone else chooses Raiders or Last Crusade -

Might get crucified for this but I actually like Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection.
I can understand why people were disappointed with 3, but come on, nothing could live up to the first 2 films, and the cast did a pretty good job. When you take Resurrection out of being in the Alien franchise, its as good as any other sci-fi/action/horror film of that era.
There I said it.

But i did feel let down after seeing them in the cinema at release.
They just arent anyway near the first 2.
They are good but not good enough.Forum signatures make my eyes hurt so i have turned them off.

I kinda enjoyed it as a film, but as a follow-on Alien film I felt let down by it in terms of Ripleys "death" and the fates of the previous films survivors and the overall mood of the film and setting. After revisiting it years later I came to accept it fully and felt better about it.
I can understand how you felt in the cinema though, I had a similar experience with John Wick 3 -

Posted on 19:56:30 - 16/09/21 (3 years ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkI was obsessed with Aliens as a kid. Every weekend i would goto the video rental store and rent it for the weekend, i did that for a few years ...
I have seen it a number of times as a adult, the obsession is no longer there i watch it every few years now.
I am still convinced its the best film ever made.
The directors cut actually adds to it as well it is the version to see. I see its influence in many other films and of course in gaming.Forum signatures make my eyes hurt so i have turned them off.

Posted on 11:10:01 - 18/09/21 (3 years ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkNow back onto the main topic for me. My film i really like which 'no one' likes.
Harrison Ford. He has appeared in lots and lots of great films over the years. I havent liked all his films but for action/sci fi he is one of the kings. He is great in the first 3 star wars films for example. Top grade quality sci fi movies all 3 of them.
Blade Runner. One of the best sci fi films ever made if not the best. It is just so very good in every single way. Harrison Fords best film by a very very long distance.
I like the sequel Blade Runner 2049, a LOT. Made in 2017. Its a VERY good sci fi film. Of course it did look like he was being 'wheel chaired' out to be in it ie he didnt have the leading role similar to the star wars film around the same time.
But Blade Runner 2049 is a very very good sci fi film.
Am i right about this or am i losing my marbles?
Harrison is a very old man now and it will be a sad day when he dies. Blade Runner 2049 is very good!Forum signatures make my eyes hurt so i have turned them off.

I thought the characters and the sets did a excellent job of making it all look like it popped right off a comic strip.

I guess they were not intoxicated enough at the time, it usually helps.

Absolutely loved it when I was 6, still love it now for the same reason. It's so stupid I can't help but laugh. My parent's hate it, and still do because I watch it only to laugh at how terrible it is, but hey it's fun.
And one that needs no explanation.
