Welp, I guessed the entire season beginning to end... Jaime arc was pointless, Tyrion tried his best with that script but I was laughing instead of emotional... Almost couldn't believe what I was seeing throughout. Stupid through and through.

Glad it's over next week I guess.

    JoeyDoughnuts77 [2108730]

I do not think jaime's arc was pointless. He tried to be a better man, failed, came to to terms with who he really was and went out trying to save the most important thing/person in his life. I think if his arc had ended up with his redemption and staying with briene that it would have felt good for the audience but would not be true to his character.
Jaime came to terms with who he was in 20 seconds of air-time and no justification for why...

The only reason he went that route is because the plot was forced onto him. They work characters into plots, not characters thinking for themselves. It's so noticeable that every single thing is this episode was foreshadowed but in a bad way. I said this last episode, and someone said "no jaime is going to kill cersei duh" - and I laughed at it... it was obvious they were going to butcher his character.

It's like me writing a 100 page essay and leaving a paragraph to sum up everything. It's so rushed that its illogical. There is nothing holding this together other than 2 lines of dialogue that bypass 7 seasons worth of development.

The action is also a product of this... the plot calls for Dany to completely defeat the army basically by herself. Previous episode, died to 1 ship.

I could nitpick the entire episode but it'd just be going into detail on the information above.

But I will note one thing... Sandor to Arya about revenge and what it'll end up like. As if Arya didn't know this? The only way she'd actually listen if she NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT IT. Then it ends on "thank you" hahaha... wow all that for cleganebowl. Talk about forced fan service.

I’m waiting for that horse to somehow be — or be connected to in some manner — Jaqen H’ghar.

But yeah, this season has pretty much left you to just come to terms with knowing it’s just a matter of them showing you scenes and battles you figured would eventually come about and accepting that that is all they’re really bothering with as a rushed ending to the show. From a viewer perspective you’re kind of just left watching for the sake of watching as they try to “ooh and ahh” you with the theatrics and special effects.

Tormund Giantsbane has been the highlight of this season. And while I have found him to be entertaining, it’s not good for that to be the reality of things in the final season with just one episode remaining.

Since the 6th and 7th book has not been written yet a lot of this stuff feels so off. Especially this season. It seemed like whomever is writing this last season has not been paying attention to the show. And it is wanting it make it more the Hollywood way Like just wanting certain scenes because they think that is what people want but is so far from it.

The mother of dragons you think she would not have done that it goes so against how she has been developing. Where she is acting just like her brother. But she did not like or want that type of ruler so why would she be it. Where the people would have loved her by saying. Hey the war was not long and  she did not kill us. She spared us, where Sersei would never had not past rulers.

Then arya she would not have faltered from trying to kill Sersei, Why just have her go there and then just throw her into all of it the shoots just looked like they wanted  to show someone people liked being in that sort of danger in the thick of it.  Then what is with that horse?

On an added note, it would’ve been much more entertaining (in my opinion) had Jon Snow’s character challenged Daenerys regarding his rightful place as the true heir to the Iron Throne rather than cower to her and just plead his allegiance to her over and over again. It also disappointed me that they made Tyrion come off as so misguided by sticking by her even though he clearly knows she was displaying troublesome behaviors and making poor decisions with how she has gone killing people.

Tyrion has been built up as a very intelligent person. It doesn’t make sense that he wouldn’t have voiced greater concern about Daenerys and/or gone to Jon Snow about how he needs to accept his fate as the heir to the Iron Throne and discuss how to handle Daenerys in regards to it.

I never said I liked how it was done, it was lacking. Just that it made sense for his character. The whole show has been lacking since they past the source material and it is showing this season. If this is the same in the books, it will be nice to hear some internal dialogue for the characters, something the screen can never really capture.

A debt is owed... and right now, Daenerys has quite a few deaths on her ledger. So for the finale, will we see Arya kill Daenerys? John is a reluctant ruler... will it be Sansa?

Or does the seven-kingdom rule collapse, with each kingdom ruling itself? The city, its people, the keep and presumably the precious throne have all been destroyed. Every person (except Daenerys) with aspirations of global rule has been killed, and the threat north of the Wall is destroyed. Perhaps rule collapses into individual fiefdoms.

as I watched the end of the episode, my only thought was..."And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and her name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with her"

Well, guess im jumping on the "this sucks" train now.

If Cersei seriously didnt want to die, why didnt she leaves when she was told the fleet and ballistas were done for?

    Jamie's character....sigh....

Dany really doing the mad queen thing....sigh....

So basically, in the last episode we need closure on Jon, Dany, Tyrion, Brienne, Sansa, Arya, etc, etc....

One of the better episodes this season. Music/sound design was definitely best part.

Clegane bowl was good.. the backdrop was stunning.

Dany ignoring the advice she's been given and going genocide mode definitely bought another side to her character and people are understandably pissed that a fan favourite isn't just a saint. Feel many have missed the point here. Was fantastic to see what a dragon could actually do and how powerful they really are.

Jaime and Cersei's death was underwhelming but was lovely to see them together I guess.

Arya's multiple fakeout deaths really started to annoy though. I get they wanted to show the destruction of the city from the eyes on the ground on a character we care about. It doesnt work when nothing happens over and over!

Apparently it is coated in wildfire. Or the substance that makes wildfire happen. Because there was a lot of green explosions and flame in the city.
