One thing I will say about the new movies, is that they take the classic and sometimes make them better...
Watching the recent two movies, as they are, the scene in the first one when the X Wings fly low over the lake at the battle of the bar. If you don't get goose bumps, you aren't a Star Wars fan...
If you don't like the Empire rip off from the last movie, with the new bad ass ATAT's and Luke staring off with the young Ben when he blasts the crap out of him and Luke just steps out unscathed, you are missing goodness...
They are not original in the slightest, but dear god they have good scenes... []
Disney Is Ruining Star Wars

I wanted to believe the 7th was just setting up for a new trilogy, but disney had to fire the director and now the 8th went down the drain. 40% audience score. Like someone said earlier, almost felt like star trek. Also while there are many old references, there are also little things that just make the movie unbearable to watch. But this is only my opinion lol

Those stupid owl things on Lukes island... Why?
Also... The whole dumb as **** lame slow chase of the rebel ship. Even one of the empire guys shouts "Why do we have all this fire power and can't destroy this!"
Still like it though...
Although never the prequals...
Ever...
They were just crap... []I will never lie to you. What I say is how I feel...

Lucas ****ed the entire series over. Atleast with Disney we know they are are just after making money. And their films are just better... []I will never lie to you. What I say is how I feel...

Posted on 02:01:09 - 28/05/18 (6 years ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkI was born the year #5 came out, so by the time I did watch the Original Three, I loved the ewoks as Care Bears were big for me at 6yrs old. LoL I love finding out more of the story in something that grabs my interest, so the prequels were great for seeing just how 4-5-6 came to be.
Yes, Jar-Jar was ridiculous unless you were a kid, as I'm sure most adults thought of the ewoks... just like we think of those owl things in the latest one. Yes, it's a grab to get kids into the movies, but I think that works for its' intended purpose.
I'd rather be annoyed by a single character just because it's not meant for my demographic if it gets a new generation interested in the franchise. They might just have another lifelong fan.. as I consider myself to be.
When my net goes out, I lose my connection to "The Force", my slick laptop is named R2-D2, and I still carry a Chewbacca Pez dispenser with me in my purse.
We all have our opinions on Lucas selling to Disney, on where the movies are going, and what canon is to be accepted.. but at least, for my part, I know I'll still be right in that opening night line to see that latest film just because.. I'm a Star Wars geek.
