R.I.P. George Romero

He pretty much started the modern zombie genre with Night of The Living Dead, and did it without Hollywood. Think he spent 114k to make it and it has grossed over 50m.
Dawn Of The Dead is my favorite movie of all time and the highest earning independent film of all time. The scene where the biker gets ripped apart in the blood pressure machine gave me nightmares for ages as a kid. Day Of The Dead to this day has some of the best gory practical effects done thanks to Tom Savini and is overlooked in the trilogy, but still pretty good. Without Romero, there would be no Walking Dead, Shaun Of The Dead and countless other gory gems.
Rest In Peace til there is no more room in hell, Mr. Romero. -
