Subs over dubs doesn't gel with me because I binge-watch, and that requires a conservation of mental effort for the long haul, especially in the face of hundreds of episodes. Also that dark ethnocentric side in us all relates more easily to one's own language.

the pros of subs over dubs are typically stated to be that they are truer to the original spirit of the art and more accurately reflect the artist's work.

i came to relax, not get involved with facts- because I'm a rhyming heathen who also prefers the 2003 version of FullMetal over Brotherhood ka-gasp.

opinions? Hang me as a heretic? Follow my rally call towards the great possibly poorly translated journey?

When I watch animes, I get upset if they dont have a dub available. A lot of times I can't read subs fast enough, and I miss a lot of info. Or they go by too fast and I'm reading too much to look at whats going on.

I'd happily hang you for preferring full metal alchemist over brotherhood, Although then again I haven't seen the original so I'll give you a stay of execution. Personally I prefer dubs over subs however that has meant I've only watched animes with good dubbing.

Haha it's really only that I watched the 2003 FMA when it came out, I was in middle school and it was one of my first animes so it has a special place in my heart... Brotherhood is great but the original was my childhood, ya know?

Subs any day.

A recent example is Digimon tri. Shows like Digimon, they get messed up in dubbing. I love watching it in Japanese.

It depends for me. For Dragonball Z I have to say dub, because some of the Japanese voice actors do NOT fit their characters at all, like Goku. His Japanese voice actor for Super makes him sound like a kid going through puberty. Does that voice really fit a being that is being trained by the same person who trained the God of Destruction? I will binge watch subs all day no problem, Ihave gotten used to them over the last decade and find Iprefer the intensityof the japanese voice actors over the almost sillyness of anerican cartoon voice actors. However as a kid i watched DBZ dubbed and still will rewatch dubbed because thats the first impression i had of their voices and anything else now sounds weird.

well, may be i'm just weird lol..even though i can listen to it (like english movie/drama), i still prefer to have a sub..i will look at the sub for the whole drama/movies lol..and for anime, i like the sub too..dub just too weird for me :D its like losing the originality lol

Dubs never look right or sound right they are always distracting because they are so bad.

Forum signatures make my eyes hurt so i have turned them off.

When they are speaking english, german or dutch, I don't need subs or dubs.
Dubs can sometimes be very funny, but are mostle annoying.

All other languages SUBS plz!!

Oh yeah... and I don't mind if the subs are in english or dutch.
