They just finished filming whiskey. TWD doesn't start filming until May, so it should be possible for her do both in some form. But AMC... .. .

Guess we will find out once filming sightings come in... Or possibly SDCC in July.

I'm posting about the Walking Dead and not the spin off, which I've hardly ever seen.

Ever since seaon one, fans have been wondering who, how and possibly why the zombie outbreak started.

    I know I have.

Every good show needs decent plot. Be it plot surrounding certain characters, a seasonal plot line or an over arching plot. All I've seen since the second season has been survival and conflict. With the conflict aspect we have been blessed with some truely amazing bad guys/girls. I don't deny that. But there will come a time when that isn't enough and I'll probably stop watching.

In all honesty it's already started with me. I used to watch an ep, and record it while watching, only to rewatch to see if I missed anything. I loved looking out for Easter Eggs and shout outs to other zombie movies. A Christopher Lee homage was very well done a few seasons ago.

Now when the group got to Alexandria, we were treated to new cast members, Enid being one of them. Great I thought. She's got a shady past that'll be worth exploring, but no. I actually thought at one point she was part of the Wolf Pack. There was a small amount of fan candy with Fr Gabriel and him locking out his parishoners allowing them to die. Since then, nothing.

When Jadis entered the scene and we were led up to the "All out War" season, again I had high hopes. Surely she's not simply a Stig of the Dump type. There's got to be reasoning behind her?  This and the helicopter being around meant we were going to be introduced to something like a sub plot that might run for a few seasons. A pot slowly boiling away waiting to be opened and the caserole eaten. Hopefully made by the culinery masteries of Carole.

    Nah.

I predicted how and with whom Rick would exit the show. I was truely excited! Yay, Jadis is a major plot hook and Rick is needed elsewhere and we'll finally see who controls the helicopter!

    Nope.

We'll time jumps six years instead and go back to plot invovling conflicts. Okay, they introduced Judith Grimes as a viable cast member. Didn't see that one and was pleasantly surprised.

So now we have a new group of antogonists. The plot will run along the lines of.... fight, die,  capture, kill, maybe one or two surprises but nothing to make you grip your armchair and worry about stuff.

The Walking Dad has turned into little more than episodes of the Waltons, but with zombies!

Please add options. Where do you see this show going?

    This Sundays episode sounds dark.

I wonder if it's going to get some backlash.

The Walking Dread ... it continues to disappoint more and more every week. I find myself annoyed with the stupidity of each episode now. I keep watching ... hoping that it'll get better ... but it continues to get worse. Never has a show made me not care about any character in it like this before. Carol, Daryl, Michonne ... they've become subpar supporting actors in a show with no lead characters.  I don't know why I keep watching ... someday I'll stop.

They are sort of following the comic storyline in a way, he was in the cell for a while.
His scene with Michonne was my favorite part of the episode.
I have a love/hate with Jeffery Dean Morgan. I shouldn't like Negan but I want him out of the cell, now, and involved with the storyline.

What I am talking about is the episode that just happened. That was stupid. How were 8 of those people just abducted from the fair. There would have been people out and about walking around. Not everyone was in the movie. Then how was all of that supposed to have happened in one night anyways. With traveling on foot could even the places be gotten to? It just seems improbable. Unless things will be explained later and lydia did help. Otherwise why did a few of the kids bothering her end up dead? THe mother may have seen but it just seems like writers wanting to tell something but do not think of the actual details involved with it.

Yeah i agree...there were a lot of gaps in the story line, was that deliberate? or did Lydia help? you could almost pick who was going to die, seems they got rid of some dead wood to make room for the newer characters.

I think it was bad writing. Much like how Jesus was able to untie himself in half a second and be able to climb up on top of that Truck without being heard. Then hold on all the way in that Benny Hill episode.

I do not know why I watch the show anyway. I never liked it. Maybe because I like to complain about it.

Unless there were other whisper people in disguise at the fair, Where not having a mask for them would be a disguise. where it is revealed later her getting all of those people does not seem possible especially in the time frame and to have that whole fight they had unless that doctor lied and actual is working with the whispery ones where there was no final fight and they were all killed one buy one.  But still sneaking them out of there. Should would not know where  to sneak them out... no Lydia was helping then she knew the secret passage, no wait that was at the other place that had the secret passage at hilltop not at the Kingdom. There seems to be a hole in the plot at the moment rather than in the wall.

^ I take from this.. the episode did exactly what it meant to!
You answered your own question in there.

In the letter-hacks in the back of a later issue Kirkman wrote that there was no plan to go back and detail how it all went down.

From a comic reader standpoint (and as someone that didn't have the spoilers that you had floating around) That's the whole point of how it was shown. While reading the comic you went in thinking somethings happening after you see Alpha enter the fair and is talking to Earl (the blacksmith). But you had no idea of what. You were on the same "page" as the characters. The wondering intensified once you were taken back to the whisperer camp where Rick and Carl are being held and Alpha returns with her bloody machete. Rick, horrified asks "what did you do". Alpha then shows Rick her horde and what she is capable of doing with it. She tells him about a border he will find before she lets him, Carl and Lydia go. You see Rick worried about Andrea, Michonne and Dante when Rick finds their horses and a obvious scuffle where they were ( like Daryl had to leave Carol Michonne, and Yumiko). When Rick, Lydia and Carl reach the Border you get the shock, confusion as the characters when they reach it and see the 12 characters one by one until to see Rosita (pregnant in comic as well) and Ezekiel. Along with Andrea, Michonne and Dante when they reach Ricks group and also see.

Unlike the show, in the comic Ezekiel and Michonne were together. Rick and Michonne are only best friends in the comic, sort of Rick and Daryl like. Her and Dwight are his as Negan puts it "right hand". Andrea is still alive at this point and is with Rick.

I think things that may work in a comic do not always transfer well into screen form. Where like in the comic having a panel or two with no zombies around then a horde popping out of nowhere could happen. But in a show how they show it sometimes it is like they pop out of nowhere and it seems too convenient, and there would have been no way you would not have noticed with a video of all the details.

I must admit I was waiting for the heads on pike scene and wondered which regular cast members would die. I was shocked at seeing Tara in the line up as I thought she was one of the better characters. Enid, sad to see go as I think the actress has a great future ahead of her. But Henry? In all honesty I was hoping to see Fr Gabriel go and maybe give poor Eugine a path to something approaching happiness.

    So, big question.

How many of us think that we will hear the voice of Rick Grimes on the HAM radio that Eugine is making? It'll be the one thing that will keep us all waiting with baited breath for S10 at the end of the year!
