I just started games of thrones, it's super hard to keep up with.. I'm confused on who's related to who, who's allies and enemys.

I'm on Season 2, where Khaleesi has lead her tribe into the desert and she's just entered a new kingdom.. and they're demanding to see her dragons.. if that makes sense xD

it's a bit confusing but decent, and the amount of boobs is brilliant.. i'm defiantly not complaining.

My suggestion Nova would to firstly never mentioned that you're watching GoT and then to never look at this thread again as you'll be spoiled the f**k out of, apart from that it's the best series to come out and i'd argue an all time great, as for finding it a little complex i don't really think it's that bad.

S1 is the slowest season which more or less explains what's happening and gets you into the world while doing so S2 the speeds up and gets the ball running i wont comment on 3/4 as you'll find out once you get there but keep at it, it's an amazing series with S5 coming soon :)

I will try explain it as succinctly as I can (up to season 2):

At the start Robert Baratheon is the king of Westeros and is married to Cersei Lannister. At some point in the first series he dies in a hunting accident causing Joffrey 'their' eldest son to take the throne.

Shortly before his death Ned Stark Warden of the North is made 'hand of the king' by Robert Baratheon and learns the truth about Joffery, that he is in fact a child of incest by Cersei and her brother Jamie lannister. Ned Stark is beheaded for treason for spreading the rumour.

Robert Baratheon led a gluttonous life and had many bastard children and so the Lannisters see them as a threat to the throne and have them hunted down and killed.

With the rumour spread that Joffrey is not the legitimate heir to the throne, Robert Baratheons' 2 younger brothers (Renly and Stannis) feel they have a right to claim the throne.

Having learned that his father Ned Stark and that his sisters are being held captive, Robb Stark calls all the houses of the North loyal to the Starks to wage war against the Lannisters and becomes King of the North.

Meanwhile, Cathelyn Stark (Ned's wife) captures Tyrion to answer for the crimes of the Lannisters.

    The Tygarens:

It is learnt throughout the series that Robert Baratheon lead a rebellion against the Mad King Aerys II Tygaryen and took the throne after Jamie Lannister a knight in the Kingsguard killed Aerys II Tygaryen for wanting King's Landing burnt to the ground.
The surviving Tygaryen children (Viserys and Daenerys) were either banished or smuggled to free cities of the East for their protection.

Viserys seeking to claim his birth right to the throne of Westeros has his sister Daenerys married to Drogo the leader of the Dothraki (a powerful tribe in the east) in exchange for an army to take back Westeros.

    The Wall:
John Snow a bastard child of Ned Stark renounces his former life through an oath when he joins the Nightswatch, a religious army made up of criminals and lowlifes whose sole responsibility is to protect a gigantic Wall at the north of Westeros from the horrors that lie beyond the wall. Ned Stark executes a deserter for breaking his oath.

There is a lot more going on such as Bran Stark having visions, Lord Baelish's deceptions and the Lannisters internal family feuds etc but that is pretty much the first 2 seasons. It is actually easier to follow in the later series, it is just that a lot of the characters are introduced quickly and have over lapping story arcs, it becomes easier to follow later on as you become familiar with the characters.

I don't think I have revealed anything beyond the first 2 seasons, once you have caught up to the latest season read through the wikipedia links they will help you piece together any gaps you may have. Even the individual episodes are well detailed and easy to read on Wikipedia, they break the story into the different areas The Wall, The North, Kings Landing, across the narrow sea etc.

I just started games of thrones, it's super hard to keep up with.. I'm confused on who's related to who, who's allies and enemys.

I'm on Season 2, where Khaleesi has lead her tribe into the desert and she's just entered a new kingdom.. and they're demanding to see her dragons.. if that makes sense xD

it's a bit confusing but decent, and the amount of boobs is brilliant.. i'm defiantly not complaining.
i have only watched part on season one and i am currently reading the book to it i think the book is alot better and is also more detailed

I caught up with the books for the latest season as well.

It's funny when I realized they actually tone down the sex for the TV show lol

Many differences as well, I feel the characters in the book are more relatable.
In the show, they make some of the characters too much of an ideal hero.

Jon Snow is the same age as Robb Stark in the books, 16. They are 20 in the show.

    Also;

The Tygarens might be the funniest spelling i've ever seen of Targaryens.

If you guys have time, you should definitely give the books a read. You read about a lot of the things that were cut from the show and most of the times they provide a better understanding of why certain events happened. Also there is a certain prophecy which you read about which explains why Lady Melisandre is so interested in helping Stannis.
