Im very very wary. The first 3 films are classics (barring some midgets in teddy bear costumes nonsense in the third film)
I didnt like the 3 recent star wars films. Disney dont have a good record of improving the stuff they buy, i fear it maybe even worse than the last 3 lucas star wars films.

If you havent seen the first 3 you need to see them. Except Blade Runner they are easily the best Harrison Ford films i have seen classic sci fi. Better than star trek, stargate etc.

Disney is not always bad when they make things or take things over. It just depends on who they put on it. When Disney took over Power Rangers everybody was complaining. The first year was okay, then the next 7 years were great. Then it sold them and Nickelodeon took it over and is not doing as good of a job.

What Disney did with the first three Pirate movies seemed so much un Disney and it was a bit surprising all of what they were putting in there was in a Disney movie. I know it was always Disney so that is a bit different. Also the Gargoyles cartoon.(it was always Disney) but that was an amazing show. And seemed a bit surprising for Disney.

So Disney might be able to do something good or not mess it up or no where near as bad as Lucas did with the prequels.

I am not sure about J. J. Abrams I did not like what he did with the first Star Trek movie I did not watch the second one. Although Star Wars has always been more visual so the style he did for that would work in here. Is John Williams doing the music still? well what he does usually goes with how he is directed Since the prequels were not as good most of the music did not fall into what he can do. Most of the prequels sounded like a lot of other things he has done. Not the main things but the incidental music. The prequels, Harry Potter, minority report all sounded the same, the music for Jar Jar just sounded like Lex Luthors bumbling chrony in Superman.

Forgot to add. Hopefully there is not too much cgi or if it is in there it will look more smooth.

Oh I was going to say when I first saw the preview I thought it was a joke. Well I had the news on and then after the news some tabloid news show comes on and I was not paying attention and then they said blahblah blah new Star Wars trailer. Now on that show you have no idea if the lady is being serious or joking because everything she says she says it in a way that she seems like she thinks it is funny. You see the seen and then you see the guy pop up without a helmet. I thought it was some comedian off of some show I do not watch. Because the way the shot looked it looked like it was a comedic stunt where it looks serious and then some comedian shows up. then I realized it was not fake as it continued.

I was 6 when the first and proper Star Wars film came out, R2D2 was my first figure. Me and my brother were brought up watching these, and we love them...

Not the last 3, obviously. They sucked donkey dick...

Considering the long star wars tradition of getting hands chopped off, the crossguard saber is probably not a bad idea. An experienced swordsmen had some comments on the concept here:

I disliked the opening scene of the trailer, as it seemed a little bit stupidly dramatic. The moneymaker is when the main theme cues up just as the Falcon soars across the screen-- if you weren't smiling at that scene, no way you're a true Star Wars fan.

Soccer ball droid was the truly dumb part of the trailer imo. How exactly is his head balanced on a totally moving ball? Yes, it could be using repulsors, but that seems a bit stupid when you really think about it.

Now that you mention it the intro scene was really dumb, I actually thought I had accidentally opened a spoof trailer vs. the real one.

Its either gonna be amazing or terrible. I'm hoping it will be amazing. Although, what the hell are those things on the sides of the new lightsaber. I think they are pointless. And the black Stormtrooper, not that i'm racist, but they are supposed to be clones. Otherwise it looks good

I think it will be great but i will be the judge of that as watching a trailer makes something sound and look great but by the time you finish the movie you realize it wasn't so great,as for the ball droid weirdiest droid ever and the crossguard seems to me like cheating but people say it's to keep from getting your hand chopped of if that isn't kinda dumb when you think about it cause jed's an sith are suppose to be trained to use the force and their lightsabers so if someone losses a hand it's cause they lacked the skills to take on a jedi or sith.

I'm presuming he is not a stormtrooper, merely wearing their uniform. ;)

I already have my ticket, The theater is showing all Seven in a row so that is going to be a long day. I am planning on sleeping during 1 2 or 3 Since the whole thing starts at 1 in the morning the day before it comes out.

No, one has said anything about it. Although I am not going to say much. Although most people that were going to see it already have seen it. It could have been a lot better than it was. Though it could have been a lot worse. I do not like the voice of that stupid beach ball the beeps are too low pitched and warky.
Though the reason I came in to post was to say it is much better in regular mode than in 3d

This is one of the very few movies that I've seen twice in theaters!
