Anyone excited for it? I am from the trailers and I've only recently watched season 1 of the clone wars, which is okay so far. My main thing for Rebels which I hope for are more cameos from the EU. That way it makes more stuff from the EU, officially canon

Non of this post Return of the Jedi crap. I never liked them, so no Mara Jade I hope.

    *sigh*

sadly when disney bought the rights to star wars they canceled so many promising projects including Star Wars Clone Wars which was the highest rated cartoon in a long time with tons of great characters only to be replaced with this garbage of a show aimed more at kids.......just great.

Really I was hoping that if they made a new CG series to replace Clone wars it would cover the events after Return of the Jedi because the conflicts after that are some of the largest and most epic even more so than what was in the movies like battles involving super weapons more powerful than the Deathstar. Plus it also has one of the more interesting story arcs where Luke Skywalker's son becomes a sith and goes freakin crazy trying to destroy s**t and then there is the Galactic Civil War, the revival of the Senate, the new Jedi Order rebuilt by Luke etc.

    that CG show sucked.

    2003 series was the GOAT
hoping DICE doesn't f**k up Battlefront, like they did with Battlefield 4.

you expectations are obviously too high because the miniseries was ok but clone wars did so much for the star wars lore by exploring so much of the galaxy that was never covered in the films or some of the expanded universe books. Add to this the fact that Asoka Tanno is one of the most well received Star Wars characters and the show had a lot going for it with more seasons planned before Disney f**ked it all up. I was really looking forward to seeing what happened to Asoka after the events of her trial and eventual scene where she left the Jedi order which was quite a shocking surprise.

Now I've watched 2 episodes of Star Wars Rebels and honestly its ok but compared to Star Wars Clone Wars its not even close by a long shot. What annoyed me is the show has some continuity issues because the series takes place 5 years before Episode 4:A New Hope like with how R2D2 is sent to be spy and its implied subtly that he retreived some sort of plans for what can be assumed to be information about the death star which shouldn't of been stolen til shortly before the setting of the 4th film. Lastly the seasons for it are surprisingly short with the first one only having 4 episodes compared to the 10-13 episodes that the Clone Wars had despite the fact Clone Wars did through in 1-2 filler episodes with jar-jar asshat or C3PO doing dumb shit now and then.

    basically TL;DR

Star Wars Clone Wars = 9/10

    Star Wars Rebels = 5/10

I think Disney will do good with the Star Wars franchise. Just look what they've done with Marvel. Disney has a great track record with building and protecting their brands.

Besides, they can't F it up more than Lucas already did with the Special Edition re-releases. Maybe they'll change it back to Han shooting first. :P

look at what they've done with marvel? if you mean milk it for all its worth then yeah lets look at what they've done with marvel ...
how many marvel character films have we had since disney took over in 2009?
    8?9? more ?
how good were those films? some were better than others but i'd say an average of 6/10 is very optimistic

how many more are announced for the next 2 or 3 years ? another 8 or 9 ? i've lost count ...
i won't even go into how watered down the cartoons have become but i dare you to watch some of the marvel cartoons currently airing

It's an opinion and not the truth since Disney has bought a lot of companies over the years and hasn't had the best track record with running and managing them.

They screwed up Miramax films which for a long time produced some good simple movies some of which became cult hits. Sadly Disney bought Miramax in 93' and as the years went on the studio released fewer good films due to disney execs not liking some projects until disney sold them in 2010. Luckily though the Weinstein brothers who founded Miramax supposedly had a disagreement and left to go found the Weinstein company which has made a lot of good films with the rest being mostly cult hit like films.

Marvel more or less started out well after Disney bought them but soon the quality of the projects started to go downhill and allegedly disney had them cancel some of their longest running comics with the most recent big name being the fact they canceled The Fantastic Four.

As for Star Wars well they canceled a lot of promising projects including the highest rated cartoon show in the past few years which was Star War The Clone Wars. When discussing the movies however many do praise them for hiring J.J. Abrams to direct them instead of selling out and hiring that Micheal Bay to fill the films full of bad CG effects and explosion porn.

Thats just listing a few things of what they have done but need I continue telling you the truth or would you rather hear my very VERY rude opinion of what disney has done.

oh okay lets just have Marvel selling the film rights again so they can be ruined. Man Thing, Blade, The Punisher, Fantastic 4, X-Men (The canon is awful in the films) But its not like Disney know anything about making good movies

Miramax is a bad comparison. They made indy films... yeah, a multi billion dollar media conglomerate is going to have trouble making indy films. That's not what Disney is good at. But 100mil+ dollar blockbusters, that's what they do well. Plus, you can't compare what a company did 20 years ago to today, it's entirely different people...

With the exception of X-Men and Spiderman, look at what everyone else has done with Marvel compared to Disney... Do you want another Daredevil or Ghost Rider movie? I'll take Ironman 2 over another Fox produced Fantastic Four anyday.

I dont trust disney with star wars. But i didnt like the 3 newer star wars films either and they werent disney films. The first 3 star wars films are classics if you havent seen them and you like sci fi you have to watch them.

I dont have any high hopes for disney making a good star wars film, they are just a massive business who buy up smaller film companies to make more money. I cant recall 1 recent disney film i would think of as a classic awesome film.

Forum signatures make my eyes hurt so i have turned them off.

Ghost Rider failed because of tbad casting like choosing Nicholas Cage as Ghost Rider and also some of the fault lies with the bad writing.

If anything they should've tied in another character to play in the ghost rider films sort of an antihero role against Ghost Rider and that would've at least made the movies good enough. Hell they could've brought in the Punisher seeing as that last film they did for that character was pure garbage compared to the first one.
