Yea I read the same thing, he wants to be like the older doctors in that he has an air of mystery, but I think he also wants to be a little lighter like tennant or eccleston

A darker, more badass, drinks with his foes before pushing or convincing them to fall to their death kind of Doctor. I am very excited to see what happens next.

Now that the first episode came out how is the Doctor holding to everyone's expectations? I honestly thought this would have been a more popular topic. I kinda like him as his character so far seem the same but different. I'll need more screen time to truly make a decision, but the writers do a great job so I'm looking forward to it. Also to keep the thread going for next weeks episode who was you favorite doctor and why?

So far so good with number 12, like you said we need more screen time with him to make a proper judgement, but he has surpassed my expectations thus far. My favourite to be honest, and this will probably get me judged harshly, but I loved Matt Smith as the Doctor, he played a different side, a more playful side to the doctor and at the time, I think that is what the show needed. As it has progressed I think needs change, and the fact they are going with a, "he is becoming more trusting so is lifting the veil" kind of plot could mean a lot of character exploration.

Don't feel bad I personally liked Christopher Eccleston. He made the Doctor seem cooler and practical. I felt like he knew what he was doing instead of relying on something similar to luck, but he was gone before you knew it.

I expected a lot from the 12th Doctor but, in my opinion, he lived up to it and even surpassed it. I was nervous that I would miss Smith after the good work he's done making the Doctor so personable and sympathy-inducing. However, I instantly fell in love with 12 when I saw him. His new outfit is dark and dare I say...sassy. His attitude matches thus far, but as you've all said, his skill in becoming the Doctor we all know and love has yet to be determined. I have to say, I like where they're heading though.

My favorite Doctor was probably Tennant, if I can say that without sounding cliche. I bawled like a baby when Tennant left us, and that's what I felt like. He had a bit of a crazy uncle feel as 10, in my opinion. He was wacky, always led people into danger, but he was also determined to keep them safe and most importantly, happy. I loved that about him and missed it when 11 was so dismissive of trouble. Not that he was carefree, but he pretended to be whereas 10 was more fragile.

Well, that's my 2 cents. I'll probably pop in next week to keep you guys updated on my opinion (that you probably don't care about).
