    Horizon: An American Saga-chapter 1

     

    it was good. But the story line was very disjointed. Most people aren’t going to like that. Realizing that it’s a 3 part movie telling the tales of 3 groups that will eventually converge, helps make it understandable. But the average viewer isn’t going to appreciate that and they don’t have the same level of love for the old west or Kevin Costner. If I didn’t love the Wild West and everything to do with it I’d be mad I wasted my time watching. Even with my love of the west there’s no way I would have sat for 3+ hours in the theatre to watch it. I don’t know what they were thinking making this a theatrical release as opposed to direct to streaming.

    Megalopolis. Really enjoyed it. Weirdest movie I've ever seen, lots of flaws and questionable choices, yet evocative and compelling. It was genuinely moving in parts, laugh out loud funny in others (both intentionally and not), and visually stunning from start to finish. I can understand why people hate it but I don't think it deserves the amount of negativity it is receiving. If you're a patient viewer and want something the opposite of cynical, formulaic superhero movies, this might be for you.
