    hah fun idea. err i think anything that keeps people involved and gives them a reason to return to the site is beneficial to the community, even if the payout never happens. they might then see other threads or do other things that keep them active in the game and forums. so maybe a scam, but still beneficial for the community.

    Dollar sales can't be a scam but private lotteries can sometimes be

    First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they keep laughing, then they start choking on their laughter, and then they go and catch their breath. Then they start laughing even more.

    Private lotteries are usually branded scams so most people avoid them, dollar sales are fun but the ones with high-dollar items are often hijacked by scripters (not anymore though).

    Lotteries are 90% scams (jj's annual property giveaways being the exception) and dollar sales were great (though now useless as they're invariable script raped).



    Both are relics of a past era. The future is in time-shares and hover-bikes!

    Lotteries are 99% scams not 90% scams, most are just too stupid to get it and will think things like "posting a pic of the RNG" makes it somehow more legit. That's why when I did it I used a 3rd party site, input the data and locked it to draw after a certain period to prevent tampering. No one else has ever done that because it wouldn't work when scamming people.

    Dollar sells are what got me my merit, but never sold anything worth more that 10,000

    I dont do lotteries, scam or not .

    One cannot pigeonhole these into one category or the other. Some people are philanthropic in nature, and others are obviously greedy. The individual holding the lottery/dollar sale has to be considered to determine their agenda.
