    Flid [2594918]

Congratulations to Leelip for winning our Race off for Group B.

A well deserved win! I'll be backing you to take the newbie WKT title!
I love the sportsmanship. Congrats to Leelip. I'll only be racing you if we both make the finals, but hey, hope to see you there!

    Praise RNGesus that's a wrap!
You finished 1st in the Uptown race. Your best lap was 01:12.16 beating your previous best lap record of 01:12.20 by 00:00.04. [View]

I have to say this was a really fun event. I had the opportunity to talk to a lot of players I normally don't cross paths with and it was great getting to know them. I think it says a lot about the racing community that this went so smoothly. Mathematics and I were both surprised to make it to the finals, neither of us qualified for URT and this tourney seemed like a long shot.

After picking up 3 ODs this week I would have sworn my luck wasn't going to hold through the last couple rounds but I picked up 2 personal best laps in the last two races and here we are. Turns out you CAN do anything on drugs!

Cheers to all the racers, I'm looking forward to the next one!

    Grats on the win!

Amazing and great timing that you set 2 new personal best laps in the last 2 races.

Not sure if in real life you can do anything on drugs though :p

raceoffs will follow for newbie: why it takes awhile...

I first have to rewatch a race (this is possible due to a script Brainslug provided me).
If the race is with 2 people I can easily write up while watching with more then 3 people it becomes more complicated and I have to follow the next method:
I then note for every racer their last lap times, poor it into a spreadsheet and divide it lap per lap before i can write the text.

This functionality is now part of the UI/UX Enhancements script (version 0.3.10).
Thanks to Brainslug for sharing his code with me!

    Newbie race-off's!
Hear hear! The last race-off's of the group stage have commenced. Deciders for more important positions, being qualified or not, and deciders for less important things (or maybe to others more) like who is the true first place of a group. In today's write-up we will have four more exciting and less exciting races for you but each of them important nonetheless.
At first we have Yeala and Flid racing for second place of group B, for sure an exciting one, who will qualify and who won‘t? Yeala had won before against Flid, can they do it again?
Then we have JUSTIN and JayJay7775 in a race-off for true domination, who takes the crown of group C? Will it be JayJay7775 who had won against JUSTIN before? Or will it be JUSTIN, upsetting the past? We will have to see.
The third race is an incredible duel, quadruel(?), for second place in group E. overDos3, Gonzalezco, Hanging_Judge and Sarm facing eachother to see if they can crawl ahead and grab a place in qualifying.
And our last race is an amazing super duper mega speedy match of the death deathmatch, with death and wrecks and fests, HEXAEL (is that a word? It is now!). An incredible six man person race-off where truly you will need some luck to take this race win home. Let’s go ahead with race-off one.

    Yeala vs. Flid
In the first lap 1 Yeala immediately pushes hard and drives away from Flid taking a 20 second advantage in the first lap. During the next two laps Yeala adds another 15 seconds to that lead and leads then with a total of 35 seconds advantage. By the end of lap five the difference between both opponents remains 30 seconds. During lap six Flid finds the perfect race line and sets the fastest lap in the race which sees him take back 14 seconds in this lap alone. All that effort however is wasted in the next lap as he gets an awfully slow lap. At the end of lap seven the difference is 31 seconds once more. Over the course of the next three laps Yeala takes another 13 seconds bringing the total to 44 seconds, a big advantage for the race leader. Yeala then sets the slowest lap in the race, Flid is able to profit off of this terribly slow lap and manages to get 13 seconds closer. The next lap Flid even takes another 8 seconds back and is now 23 seconds behind Yeala. If Flid is able to keep this pace then the last lap could promise to be exciting. The joy is however brief as Yeala gets her mindset right again and takes 13 seconds again in lap 13, bringing the total back to 36 seconds. Lap 14 we see Flid take 7 seconds back. It is however too late to be able to win and Flid seemingly takes his foot off of the gas in lap 15. Yeala wins with a 41.56 seconds lead.

With this Yeala was able to secure her spot in the knockout stage, congratulations to Yeala and thanks for playing Flid. Yeala will be facing DrClarkus, winner of group G first.

    JUSTIN vs JayJay7775
As the lights go out JUSTIN has the better start in the race and takes the lead in the first lap. In the second lap JUSTIN manages to gain yet another 16 seconds on JayJay7775 bringing his lead to a total of 20 seconds. After lap six JayJay7775 managed to bring the difference down to 10 seconds between themself and JUSTIN. In lap seven we see something promising for the rest of the race, JayJay7775 was able to catch up and overtake JUSTIN during this lap. In the final corner JUSTIN overtakes JayJay7775 again and crosses the finish line with a 3 second lead on JayJay7775. Lap eight we see no outstanding actions. Lap nine however is again of a different caliber. JayJay7775 overtakes JUSTIN in the first corner and leads until halfway of the lap where JUSTIN overtakes JayJay7775 again once more. JUSTIN then drives off in the second part of the lap and manages to take an advantage of 15 seconds, bringing the lead to 18 seconds total. Lap 10 JayJay7775 shows that he doesn’t want to surrender yet and nibbles 1 second of the total time behind. Lap 11 JayJay7775 flies again in the first part of the lap and overtakes halfway of the track, although it being briefly and losing a bit terrain in the second part JayJay7775 managed to take 6 seconds back, bringing him back to 11 seconds behind JUSTIN. Lap 12 we see a similar lap as lap 11, JayJay7775 overtaking again for just a brief period near the end of the lap, but JUSTIN crossing the finish line first again. JayJay7775 took back 9 seconds this time, so the race is becoming very close with only a two second gap. Lap 13 shows the same pattern again halfway. JayJay7775 overtakes JUSTIN, for the first time however he keeps the lead and drives off. JayJay7775 managed to be 17 seconds faster than JUSTIN in this lap and is now leading with 15 seconds. Will that be enough to last JayJay7775 two laps? JUSTIN did not cave in mentally after that big loss in the previous lap and managed to gather eight seconds, entering the last lap with seven seconds behind JayJay7775. JUSTIN sets a great pace and slowly catches up to JayJay7775, with three corners left the inevitable happens. JUSTIN is able to overtake JayJay7775 and doesn’t surrender the lead anymore. JUSTIN wins.

With this JUSTIN has proven to be the ultimate leader of his group qualifying in first and JayJay7775 in second, congratulations and good luck to both contenders for the rest of the tournament. JUSTIN will be facing another opponent that we won’t mention yet as they are the winner of another race off and JayJay7775 will face mattynob.

    Quadruel - overDos3, Gonzalezco, Hanging_Judge, Sarm
As the lights turn green Gonzalezco took off in first place, followed by the rest of the pack. At the end of lap one he was leading with a six second difference over Sarm, the following others also with noticeable gaps between them. Hanging_Judge was in the rear with 18 seconds behind Gonzalezco, the race lader. Lap two the distance between the first and second remained consistent, only the last two racers lost a bit of time on Gonzalezco. Overdos3 had a really great time during lap three, he overtook two racers during that lap, Sarm and Gonzalezco. By doing so he took the first place in the race, Gonzalezco followed in second place with just a one second gap. Lap four was a battle for second place, Sarm overtook Gonzalezco and now follows Overdos3 with four seconds behind, Overdos3 widened the gap. Hanging_Judge in last place has been steadily decreasing the gap since lap two, following at first with 24 seconds to then 13 seconds. Lap five was more of the same, the battle for second place in the race continues, this time Gonzalezco manages to overtake Sarm, but they nearly pass the finish line at the same time so it is hard to tell. Overdos3 still two seconds ahead and Hanging_Judge loses quite some time on this lap. Lap six is a really bad lap for Sarm, who loses the connection to Gonzalezco for second place, not being able to keep up anymore, losing a total of 15 seconds over Gonzalezco. Gonzalezco managed to nibble one second off of Overdos3 and followes with one second behind. Hanging_Judge is at the end of the lap, already 26 seconds behind. Lap seven not much changed, Sarm lost one second on Overdos3. Gonzalezco and Hanging_Judge had an abysmal lap time, losing 12 seconds. Overdos3 seems to step up his game in lap eight and gains three seconds over Gonzalezco, Hanging_Judge then five seconds behind and Sarm with six behind. Is the top two determined already? Lap nine sees only a negative big change for Hanging_Judge, already 52 seconds behind the leader in the race now. At the start of lap 10 Overdos3 is keeping a good pace that sees his main opponent lose a lot of time this lap, the gap between him and Gonzalezco is now 11 seconds. Sarm lost another seven seconds and we would dare to say that he lost his chances now. Gonzalezco then switches his mentality and will set one of the fastest laps so far in the race with that he suddenly jumps back to four seconds from Overdos3, how will Overdos3 respond to this sudden pressure? Sarm and Hanging_Judge meanwhile fall further behind. Overdos3 responded to that pressure spike from Gonzalezco with…, the I’m driving you guys home (I am sure Prezze can explain this one). During lap 13, 14 and 15 he drives off completely setting an amazing time of 0:45:24, Gonzalezco remained in second place but finished 33.92 seconds behind him. Sarm and Hanging_Judge kept falling behind further but Sarm seems to have taken his foot off of the gas pedal a lot more and even got passed in the final lap by Hanging_Judge.

That settles it. overDos3 is qualified in second place. Condolences to the rest of the participants but you got wrecked in the Wreckfest. Congratulations to overDos3, who will be facing BillHimself next.

The amazing super duper mega speedy match of the death deathmatch, with death and wrecks and fests, HEXAEL - Geeklord, mathuaerknedam, Bilbosaggings, Jorgen, aaronachnid, MkeMalta
This race was held in two separate races due to some unforeseen issues and size of the race. So the entire write-up will be based upon last lap times.

The race starts off with Geeklord leading with two seconds before mathuaerknedam. MkeMalta and Bilbosaggings have had really bad starts and immediately lose 14 and 15 seconds. Lap two goes timewise towards Jorgen who passed aaronachnid and now races in third position. Geeklord was passed by mathuaerknedam and has Jorgen right on his bumper. Both Jorgen and Geeklord are now four seconds behind. Geeklord and mathuaerknedam both had really bad laptimes and lose a lot of time, Jorgen profits the most and is now the leader in the race, followed by MkeMalta at 10 seconds. MkeMalta leads the rest of the pack, the difference between him and Bilbosaggings (the last in the race) is four seconds. Lap four we see a strong drive from aaronachnid who passes mathuaerknedam, MkeMalta and Geeklord to go from fifth place to second with only five seconds behind Jorgen. Mkemalta and mathuaerknedam saw really bad laps and are now 21 seconds behind Jorgen. aaronachnid keeps his pace from lap four and manages to chew off another two seconds from the time of Jorgen and follows now at three seconds. Jorgen lost this lap time to everyone but still leads. Lap six was an odd lap, we see Jorgen set a really fast lap time, but aaronachnid completely dropped in the ranking with a bad lap (fifth at 27 seconds behind Jorgen, so he lost 24 seconds). Mathuaerknedam was the only one who was able to come closer to Jorgen and claimed second position this way, by doing so he passed Geeklord, Bilbosaggings and aaronachnid. How was he able to do so? We saw him clock a lap time of 0:02:48 which is really fast. Lap seven everyone except aaronachnid and MkeMalta can gain some time on Jorgen. During lap seven Bilbosaggings passed Geeklord and now is in third position. Jorgen still has 10 seconds to catch up on mathuaerknedam. Bilbosaggings keeps his pace and now passes mathuaerknedam towards the end of the lap in second place, Geeklord managed to pass him too. Jorgen does not set a good time in lap nine and sees Bilbosaggings come over the finish line eight seconds behind him, Geeklord in third follows at 14 seconds, mathuaerknedam lost 19 seconds. Aaronachnid at 32 seconds and MkeMalta in the meantime is already 44 seconds behind. After two thirds of the race in we still see Jorgen lead where everyone seemed to have a slower lap time this lap, especially the number two of the last lap lost 9 seconds, giving Jorgen some more space again with 17 seconds to spare. MkeMalta seems to have been distracted this lap, 56 seconds later then Jorgen he passes the finish line, what happened? Fastest lap time in lap 11 goes to Bilbosaggings who takes back six seconds on Jorgen, Bilbosaggings left behind Geeklord. Geeklord also saw mathuaerknedam pass. aaronachnid managed to catch up again with Geeklord and follows 1 second behind him. Bilbosaggings is doing quite good with keeping the pace he set out and comes back under 10 seconds, Geeklord managed to gain the most on Jorgen this lap. We wonder what happened with aaronachnid this lap, he lost a whopping 16 seconds on Jorgen and might possibly have lost all his chances now with this lap, he is 41 seconds behind now. MkeMalta, the red lantern in the race, is 58 seconds behind. With three laps to go Jorgen starts to feel the heat, everyone in this race gained time on him. Bilbosaggings is now five seconds behind, Geeklord at nine seconds, mathuaeknedam who got the fastest lap this lap is at 10, aaronachnid 26 seconds and mkemalta at 48 seconds. If Jorgen keeps suffering from the stress and heat on his tail he will have a difficult time keeping his position. Lap 14 is where we see someone setting again an incredibly fast lap, mathuaerknedam passed three people in this lap and Jorgen lost his first place to him. Jorgen really suffered from stress with setting an awfully slow lap time. Mathuaerknedam now has four seconds lead on Jorgen and eight on Geeklord. Bilbosaggings might have lost a bit too much time now, being 15 seconds behind. Places five and six are certain to be set with the time difference now. MkeMalta is 66 seconds behind and aaronachnid 32 seconds. So with only one lap to go who is gonna take the win? Is mathuaerknedam gonna be able to keep Jorgen off? Seems that during the last lap mathuaerknedam and Jorgen both suffered from stress, or might they have a little fender bender? If that would be the case it happened outside of our view we had on the track, but neither mathuaerknedam or Jorgen managed to win in the end. Jorgen dropped from second place to fourth in the final lap. Bilbosaggings managed to reach third place. This means that Geeklord somehow managed to catch up with mathuaerknedam and make eight seconds good on this last lap. We honestly suspect that mathuaerknedam started celebrating a little early because Geeklord passed him with 0.63 seconds to spare. Thus Geeklord qualifies as second.

Congratulations to Geeklord on winning this very intense and important race. Good luck to him and better luck next time to his opponents.

This has been the race offs of the newbie group stages and with that the group stage is completed. We are moving onto the knockout stage and many thanks to all participants. We will hopefully see you in the next edition!

Hey yo, sorry to be that late to the party, didn't realize you guys were making the effort to post that much!
I'm out now, but thank you very much for organizing this, it was really exciting too be part of a racing tournament for the first time :)
Also thanks to all my opponents - always friendly, no matter what the outcome of the race was.

Little hint the last write-up: I'm still a dude

    Drive safe!

    Newbie knockout stage
    Newbie knockout stage round 1
    Docks 15 laps

    BeepBeepBoop vs Siredge
BeepBeepBoop, won his group with seven wins and was also fastest of the entire group stage. Can he continue his streak of dominance? He is facing Siredge who finished in second place in group H, just behind -Noxious-. For their duel BeepBeepBoop chose a Honda Civic and Siredge a Renault Clio. In the end we don’t know which mattered more but Siredge won the race with over 30 seconds advantage and eliminating the until then fastest racer of the tournament.

Moves onto the next round: Siredge

    DrClarkus vs Yeala
DrClarkus, just as some others, dominated their group, bagging seven wins and just receiving one loss in the group stages, qualifying in first. Yeala won a race-off to qualify against Flid in second in group B. Yeala chose a Renault Clio and DrClarkus a Honda Civic, it was a good race but ultimately DrClarkus won with 22.85 seconds ahead of Yeala and eliminated them.

Moves onto the next round: DrClarkus

    JUSTIN vs Geeklord
JUSTIN was able to prove that he deserved first place earlier in the group stage against JayJay7775 but the question is if he can continue being successful in the knockout phase. JUSTIN is facing Geeklord who proved themself against five others in one of the biggest race-offs we had yet. JUSTIN chose a Renault Clio for the race and GeekLord a Vauxhall Corsa. JUSTIN’s choice seemed to be way better as JUSTIN finished over three minutes ahead of GeekLord, eliminating GeekLord out of the tournament.

Moves onto the next round: JUSTIN

    SpeedSkateR vs RawRexHead
SpeedSkateR qualified in first of group E with six wins and two losses, SpeedSkateR was facing RawRexHead who was the lucky candidate able to qualify following ThunderDrak’s fedding. RawRexHead initially finished third but was now able to go into the knockout phase. Lucky for him RawRexHead was able to take the win home, eliminating SpeedSkateR out of the competition.

Moves onto the next round: RawRexHead

    Leelip vs DOVER
Leelip qualified in first place of group B with six wins and two losses. DOVER qualified in second with the exact same amount of wins and losses, showing how luck factors into the group stages at times. Both chose a Honda Civic for their performance on Docks, DOVER taking the win home with a time of 1:26:42.02, Leelip finishing far behind with a time of 1:27:21.22. With this Leelip is out of the tournament.

Moves onto the next round: Dover

    -Noxious- vs Elfo
-Noxious- was the winner of group H, who had an incredible win streak of seven wins until Siredge ended it in the last race. Elfo qualified in second place of group A. -Noxious- to no surprise won the match up after an already dominating performance in the group stages.

Moves onto the next round: -Noxious-

    BillHimself vs overDos3
BillHimself was first qualified as second but as mentioned in our previous write-up was moved into first due to the fedding of ThunderDrak. overDos3 qualified in second through a solid win in a four-man race-off, all of them had four wins. overDos3 won their duel, knocking BillHimself out of the tournament.

Moves onto the next round: overDos3

    mattynob vs JayJay7775
mattynob, the first contender of this match-up, had an impressive group stage, winning seven out of eight races. The first race he had being his only loss. Not a big surprise to mention that he qualified in first in his group due to that performance. JayJay7775 qualified in second of his group after losing a race-off against the groups first, JUSTIN. Just as the group leader he had six wins out of eight races. For Docks mattynob chose the Honda Civic and JayJay7775 the Nissan Micra. Due to the car or the better performance we don’t know but mattynob took the win home, finishing with a time of 1:27:35.84, 10.37 seconds ahead of JayJay7775, eliminating them.

Moves onto the next round: mattynob

    Newbie knockout stage round 2
    Withdrawal 15 laps

    Siredge vs DrClarkus
Siredge used a Renault Clio in this race while DrClarkus showed up in a Honda Civic. Siredge takes the lead first corner and drives off and creates a gap of 8 seconds against his opponent. The long straight line is where DrClarkus seems to be most comfortable as he immediately catches up to Siredge at the first corner. He however can’t keep up with that pace and loses another 9 seconds in the 2nd lap. During lap 3 DrClarkus is able to catch up to Siredge and overtake him at the end of the second straight part of Withdrawal. DrClarkus manages to lead with 7 seconds before Siredge now. Siredge crawls closer to DrClarkus and overtakes him right before the second straight and manages to stay 6 seconds ahead of DrClarkus. The good lap of Siredge in lap 4 was for night as he now sets an awful lap time of which DrClarkus profited and managed to create a lead of 20 seconds. Lap 6 Siredge arises again and sets the fastest lap time in the race (3:45), Siredge overtakes DrClarkus and creates a small gap of 3 seconds. In lap 7 DrClarkus overtakes Siredge and manages to drive off and be 14 seconds faster over the finish line. Siredge gains 10 seconds back in the next lap. DrClarkus feels the pressure and makes a braking error of which Siredge profits and overtakes, Siredge strengthened by the first position, gaining 5 seconds. Siredge will increase that gap over the next 3 laps to 19 seconds. Lap 13 is where it turns out later DrClarkus will lose his race, as he sets an awful lap time and sees Siredge increase his lead from 19 seconds to 38 seconds in one go. In lap 14 DrClarkus still attempts to return but he only managed to take back 8 seconds, the last lap the half a minute behind is too much to overcome and Siredge qualifies for the next round.

    JUSTIN vs RawRexHead
Again both racers show up on the tarmac in a different car, JUSTIN will be using the Volvo850 and RawRexHead the Honda Civic.
Justin takes the lead in the first corner and drives off in the first part of the lap, the last part RawRexHead closes in fast, Justin still leads the lap with 5 seconds. In the next lap Justin clocks a fast lap and takes 24 seconds making the total 29. This is however offset in the 3rd lap as Justin sets an awful lap time and RawRexHead can gain 20 seconds on him. During lap 4 both racers set a fast pace, Justin however is the fastest and manages to increase his lead to 13 seconds again. Lap 5 is where both racers make errors and set awful lap times. Justin still takes 1 second. During lap 6 we see Justin set another really good lap and manages to increase his lead to a total of 33 seconds. Lap 7-8 and 9 are where RawRexHead keeps taking seconds on Justin, at the end of lap 9 the difference is only 8 seconds. Lap 10 is where RawRexHead overtakes Justin who sets another terrible lap time. RawRexHead now even leads with 21 seconds. RawRexHead adds another 5 seconds to his lead. Lap 12 we see Justin set a good lap and overtake RawRexHead, both seem to cross the finish line at the same time but the computer shows RawRexHead leading. RawRexHead sets a slightly faster pace then Justin and gains 4 seconds on him. During lap 14 Justin takes a lot of risks trying to keep up with RawRexHead and he makes a big error. Did Justin lose the race in this lap? It seems to us as reporters this is too much to overcome, Justin lost 32 seconds in this lap and is 36 seconds behind. What we considered then happened and RawRexHead won the race and moved onto the next round.

    Dover vs -Noxious-
The footage of this race got messed up so we weren’t able to comment live upon it since the reporter on site didn’t take note just filmed the race. The only bits of info they were able to supply us is that both contestants showed up in Volvo 850 car. -Noxious- proved to be the fastest of both of them with taking the win home with a 23.43 second gap.

    OverDos3 vs mattynob
Both racers will be racing in their Honda Civic in this round. The first lap already shows that both racers are matched, both overtaking each other regularly in the first lap, mattynob however is able to create a gap of 16 seconds. Lap 2 to 5 we see both racers lead a lap. By the end of lap 5 mattynob leads with 5 seconds. OverDos3 closes in during lap 6 and passes mattynob driving off. Mattynob is however racing like a madman during the last corners and managed to close the gap towards 5 seconds. Still in the madman mode mattynob overtakes overDos3 in the first corner of lap 7, overDos3 follows closely and in the last turn he sees an opportunity to pass mattynob and take a 2 second lead. Lap 8 we see mattynob set a fast lap and overtakes overDos3 while creating a 26 second gap. This race can seem to go everywhere since both racers overtakes each other on a regular basis, lap 9 is no different. Both racers overtake each other and overDose in the end falls a bit behind again but he closes the earlier 26 second gap back to 12 seconds. 3/4th of the race overDos3 overtakes mattynob and drives off 7 seconds and he increases that to 13 seconds in lap 11. Mattynob is not impressed though, he overtakes early on in lap 12 and plows away taking 14 seconds. In a regular race you would say that taking such leads and creating such gaps would be enough here however in lap 13 we see overDos3 once again pass mattynob and drive off taking 19 seconds. 1 lap later mattynob nibbled it down to 15 seconds as they start their final lap of the race. Bumper to bumper we see them for the majority of the lap, overDos3 does not yield the first place though and he manages to qualify for the next round with a mere 1.76 seconds gap.

    Meltdown Park 15 laps

    Siredge vs RawRexHead
RawRexHead seemed to have won his previous race quite easily, Siredge didn’t have an awful lot of trouble either. Siredge picked his Vauxhall Corsa for the race and RawRexHead picked his Honda Civic. Siredge immediately took the lead in the race, closely followed by RawRexHead. They cross the finish line with less than 1 second difference. Siredge sets a fast lap in the 2nd lap and creates a 12 second gap. From now on the race gets really monotonous as it seems that Siredge is clearly the faster racer. After 5 laps he is 32 seconds faster than RawRexHead. After 10 laps it increased to 52 and at the checkered flag the total is 65.74 seconds. The car choice of RawRexHead will probably not have been the best for the track. Siredge is the deserved winner in the race and goes onto the final of wreckfest.

    -Noxious- vs overDos3
Both racers show up in a Honda Civic, the car advantage/disadvantage is not in this race like the other semi-final. It however will make it alot clearer if Siredge’s tactical choice in the other semi-final made him able to set such a time on the track. Let’s go to this semi-final between 2 very capable racers throughout the tournament. OverDos3 takes the lead and manages to create a 3 second gap leap over -Noxious. -Noxious- keeps his space while overDos3 makes an error where -Noxious- used the opportunity to pass and drive off leaving overDos3 6 seconds behind. -Noxious- making an error early on the lap and overDos3 easily overtakes him and powering on he manages to take 10 seconds. -Noxious- doesn’t give up and manages to take 5 seconds back and halves the lead of overDos3. Bad braking error in lap 5 for -Noxious-, overDos3 profits and manages to take 20 seconds increasing his lead to 25 seconds. The next 6 laps both racers are equally paced often, but 5 out of 6 laps -Noxious- manages to win time back on overDos3. At the end of lap 11 the difference is 12 seconds in the advantage of overDos3. -Noxious- sets in lap 12 a really good lap and manages to overtake overDos3 near the end and now leads 2 seconds. OverDos3 does not throw the towell and sets his pace faster again overtaking -Noxious- and driving off to a nice 6 second lead. -Noxious- taking alot of risks does take alot of risks in lap 14 and he does not get rewarded for it. On the contrary he makes a braking error and loses 12 seconds, looking at the race so far this might be the end for his advancement to the final with now being 18 seconds behind. What we figured in lap 14 did happen in lap 15: -Noxious- wasn’t able to come back up again and overDos3 qualified for the final of the newbie tournament.

Newbie knockout stage Final and runnerup
    Hammerhead 15 laps

Bronze race : RawRexHead vs -Noxious-
This race is never fun to start for, a lot of people call it the losers final. We would like to remind both of them though that they had a nice tournament. RawRexHead was especially lucky that he even could take part in the knockout, since he qualified due to a fedding in the group stage. Yet here he is racing for the 3rd place in the newbie Wreckfest Tournament. -Noxious- quite easily went through the group stage. Let’s remind both of them that winning this race will grant you a banner. Both racers showed up for this dirt track in a Honda Civic. So being the first race of the day we hope both of them are eager to show a nice spectacle.
-Noxious- seemed to have a better start and took the lead, he also created a gap towards the dirt part of the track, RawRexHead however seemed to be alot better at keeping the Honda Civic under control on the dirt part and used a tiny error of -Noxious- to drive passed him. RawRexHead manages to take 8 seconds. Both keep the same pace and -Noxious- nibbles 1 second off in lap 2. -Noxious- keeps on the pace and is clearly faster on the dirt part of the track, he sneaks up back again to 2 seconds at the finish line. Lap 4 both of them seem to be glued together till the dirt part of the track, a brake error means -Noxious- loses 5 seconds this lap. -Noxious- puts a good fast pace in the part towards the dirt and briefly manages to overtake RawRexHead on the dirt part, but as mentioned it is briefly and -Noxious- even loses a couple of seconds in this lap towards his faster competitor. The difference is 1/3rd in the race 9 seconds in the advantage of RawRexHead. During the next 3 laps RawRexHead is the better racer and he increases his lead towards the end of lap 8 to a full 34 seconds. RawRexHead however got too greedy in lap 9 and took unnecessary risks resulting in a really slow lap of which -Noxious- took advantage. -Noxious- was able to win back 13 seconds in this lap, it is however brief as he does lose nothing but time in the next 4 laps and at the end of lap 13 the difference is 38 seconds. Sad to say but we do not see -Noxious- capable of overturning this, we admit we love his spirit and he still tried, he managed to gain 8 seconds in lap 14 and about 16 seconds in the final lap but the distance was too great. RawRexHead managed to win 3rd place in the tournament. We would like to congratulate both racers on this nice performance in the tournament.

    Final Siredge vs overDos3
Welcome to the final of the newbie tournament, both racers are looking forward to winning the competition and being crowned the newbie wreckfest champion. We expect both racers to be nervous, but hopefully we see a really exciting race where anything can happen. Siredge took for his go at the champion title his Vauxhall Corsa out of his garage, overDos3 seems to stick with his trusted Honda Civic. During the warm up lap both players enjoyed doing burnouts in their cars (well let’s call it that with this class of stock car). For the start of the race we have our lovely steward in the newbie tournament, Jazeejas, waving the flag. As she waves the flag both racers take off and overDos3 goes into the first corner as leader. Both racers are equally matched and Siredge manages to overtake although it is only briefly, right before the dirt part overDos3 passes Siredge and starts first on the dirt part of the track. The dirt part is in quite good shape still, it didn’t rain today, so the only thing still visible are here and there some tracks from the race for bronze place. The gap gets closed in the dirt part and overDos3 loses first place in the 2nd to last corner of the track. SIredge manages to take 5 seconds. OverDos3 manages to close the gap entirely on the dirt part of Hammerhead and overtakes in the last corner of the lap the straight line the Vauxhall seems to be faster (?) and overtakes again. During lap 3 we see the leader add another 5 seconds to his lead, overDos3 gains back time during lap 4 and manages to overtake on the dirt part, crossing the finish line 1 second faster. Siredge sets a really fast lap in lap 5 and manages to overtake and take 16 seconds. Over the next 4 laps we see Siredge constantly increase his lead up to 31 seconds. In lap 9 the tables turn and overDos3 gains back time and reduces the lead by lap eleven to 18 seconds. A terribly bad lap for Siredge during the 12th lap makes him lose 10 seconds in 1 go. OverDos3 becomes alot more confident due and keeps gaining time, the time separating both of them at the end of lap 13 is only 2 seconds anymore. Both of these racers seem to have a shot at the title. A lap can’t get more thrilling than lap 14, both racers overtake each other multiple times not given an inch to the other. Siredge passes the finish line first to head into the last lap, the difference is only 2 seconds. Will this be enough for Siredge to pop the champagne bottle in a couple of minutes or will overDos3 be able to overtake and be victorious. Lap 15 proves to be another existing lap as overDos3 catches up again and overtakes Siredge right before the dirt part of Hammerhead. Siredge’s car choice might give him a slight advantage on that dirt part that now is already harder to drive over then at the start of the race. The vauxhall Corsa does what Siredge expected it to do and that was make up the lost time in this lap on the dirt. At the end of it he overtakes overDos3 and drives off to the win and calls himself the newbie Wreckfest champion. overDos3 probably disappointed but can look back at a great tournament too. We would like to congratulate both racers for the spectacle they have shown us and hope to see them again in the next edition, be it the newbie tournament or the main tournament.

    Ashanie vs Mathematics
Both of them won in the group stage six races, due to that we expect it to be a close race. Mathematics raced in his group P to determine first or second place in a race off against MaGnO and lost that race. We assume however that Mathematics overcame that slight mishap and is ready to give it his all against Ashanie. The race itself took place behind closed doors, we can however say that the winner of the race won with a difference of 10.51 seconds. Mathematics managed to get this win.

    BuzzHead vs Reagan
BuzzHead won his group with 6 wins and 1 loss, Reagan, runner-up in the first edition, ended second in one of the hardest groups in the group stage. Either way for BuzzHead it will be a difficult race being new to the format, the amount of stress it brings can keep you slower. Reagan however is already more accustomed to this type of race. Regrettably for BuzzHead it did show in the race too, Reagan taking the victory with ease, finishing 40.57 seconds ahead of BuzzHead.

    Lugburz vs Smolder
Lugburz managed to qualify for the knockout stage due to finishing first in a race off with 3 people, we can say that he is certainly known to race under stress. Smolder had a race off in his group for first and second place, which he lost to Prezze. Lugburz proved to be too strong for Smolder in the race and advanced to the next round.

Brainslug did not break under pressure in this race but maybe FuzzyRight1 did as Brainslug won with a time of 42:15.85, over 20 seconds ahead of his opponent, knocking FuzzyRight1 out.

Ketone being one of the more experienced drivers here showed his speed, finishing fastest in the first round with a time of 41:30.09 more than 30 seconds ahead of his opponent. Green_Revolver took a simple 5-2 record to qualify for second, his next opponent Storm1968 will be a tough opponent to crack. Though as expected Storm1968 took the win with a time of 42:00.94, a time that against other opponents would have caused a knockout but fortune smiled upon him in that round, making him the winner against Green_Revolver.

Will this be another victim for bblake17 or will GFTL end his winstreak? It was a very close race with just a small difference of 2.79 seconds! To much suprise ToxicMonkeyMZC did not take his group as dominantly as one expected, only bagging five wins in the group stage and taking two losses. Ali_Looya, being the victor of a four person race off for second was used to pressure so it could prove to be another exciting race. MonChoon should also be a name to everyone, atleast since the last URT. Being one the small amount of participants to qualify with under 20 RS. He has entered WKT to prove that it wasn’t only luck which made him qualify for URT. Both participants again had to go through race-offs. MonChoon deciding their race off for second for them and TheCarCollector taking first place against Ketone. Both of them are very good racers so this can only be a good race from both. Indeed both drove a good time but MIA drove a very good time, managing a 41:36.05 finishing over 20 seconds ahead of Vasto-Lorde, who wasn’t super slow aswell. MonChoon vs JACR
A very close match-up we had here. The winner finished 1.83 seconds ahead of the other. The winner turned out to be JACR who was the end of the station for MonChoon in this edition who had a spectacular performance until then. With a time of 36:57.95 JACR moves on into the next round.

    Mathematics vs Brainslug
Both these racers most likely didn’t expect to make it this far. Mathematics beat in round 2 the runner up of the first edition and is feeling to be on a roll. Due to the reporter not being able to get in time to the racetrack, the race couldn’t be spectated, even worse we do not have any finish times available anymore in the records either. We only know that Mathematics kept his winning streak and placed for the semi-finals.

    Ketone vs Storm1968
Both of these didn’t have an easy race in the previous round, for both of them it was possible that they would have lost their round 2 races due to their opponents. Ketone and Storm1968 made it through however and now face each other. For Ketone it means he is up against the URT champion this winter, so it will most likely be a difficult race.
First part of lap 1 both seem to switch occasionally in rank, end of lap 1 Ketone passes the finish line about 1 second faster than Storm1968. Lap 2 changes nothing in the ranking nor time difference, but Storm1968 is really following bumper to bumper. At the end of lap 3 Storm1968 manages to find the possibility to pass Ketone and crosses the finish line 3 seconds ahead of him. First part of lap 4 Ketone catches back up, but gets passed again mid-lap. Storm1968 even takes quite some seconds extra now on Ketone who is now 12 seconds behind. 25% in the race and Ketone is behind 9 seconds. Ketone had a great lap; he even managed to catch up and pass Storm1968, however it was brief since Storm1968 took the lead again and managed to cross the finish line 2 seconds ahead of Ketone. Ketone sure keeps the pressure on Storm1968, less than a second between them after lap 7. Lap 8 and 9 results in both taking 5 seconds on the other so the distance is at the end of this lap nearly nothing. In lap 10 they overtake each other and Ketone finishes the lap leading with 2 seconds. Storm1968 gradually loses a bit more time and at the end of lap 16 is about 12 seconds behind. Storm1968 then sets out a fast pace and comes back to 5 seconds at the end of lap 18. Lap 19 we see once again a fast Storm1968 who passes Ketone and leaves him behind, passing the finish line 4 seconds before Ketone. Is this it for Ketone? Ketone facing the URT winner and being 4 seconds behind with 1 lap left should most likely mean the end for him. However Ketone is not the regular racer he doesn’t give up and sets out to gain it back, he slowly creeps back up during the lap towards storm and is behind him with only 3 corners left, that corner he manages to overtake Storm1968 with a lot of risk. Storm1968 is the URT winner for something and towards the finish line they basically are driving next to each other. A photo finish was necessary to see who won for certain. Seems that Ketone managed to beat the URT winner with 0.45 seconds difference and qualifies for the semi-final.

    bblake17 vs ToxicMonkeyMZC
For the audience this is most likely the one race everyone was looking forward to in this round. The previous Wreckfest (and so far undefeated in Wreckfest) winner bblake17 vs ToxicMonkeyMZC the nr 3 of this winter URT. bblake17 has a good start in the first lap, but gets overtaken about mid lap and ToxicMonkeyMZC just keeps pushing his Honda NSX. We can say for certain both racers will push it to the limit. ToxicMonkeyMZC takes a full 7 seconds in the first lap on bblake17. Bblake17 gains a couple of seconds back and is now 5 behind. Lap 3 we see bblake17 catching up and briefly overtaking, ToxicMonkeyMZC keeps 1 second. Lap 4 bblake17 quickly overtakes and drives off, he manages to get 8 seconds ahead of ToxicMonkeyMZC. The race is extremely exciting as ToxicMonkeyMZC now overtakes bblake17 after catching up 8 seconds, bblake17 overtakes again and drives off again! Bblake17 5 seconds ahead after that lap, it clearly shows he is a great racer. ToxicMonkeyMZC puts pressure again and comes back bumper to bumper towards the finish line and overtakes his opponent right before the finish line. Lap 7 our leader keeps the pace and bblake17 struggles a bit to follow, creating a gap of 8 seconds. Over the next laps bblake17 loses and gains a bit time again, with the difference only being 1 second in lap 12. This however briefly and at the end of lap 16 bblake17 is 4 seconds behind. The previous WKT winner then pushes on the gaspedal again, catches up to his opponent and briefly overtakes. ToxicMonkeyMZC does not give in and passes again, at the finish the difference is now about 3 seconds. Lap 18 is the final time that bblake17 can win some seconds on ToxicMonkeyMZC closing the gap to 1 second again, ToxicMonkeyMZC is however also accustomed to racing under pressure and does not yield anymore. ToxicMonkeyMZC wins this exciting Honda NSX clash and places for the semi-finals.

    MIA vs JACR
Last race in this round to qualify for the semi-finals. MIA is so far undefeated in the tournament against JACR, who has had a fine tournament so far too. Both are eager to try and win that semi-final place. Both racers arrived early on the tarmac of Underdog and were lined up on the starting grid ready to race. After the signal is given to start MIA starts of fastests and takes the lead in the first lap, although the difference is minimal with 1 second to spare. JACR, showing himself nicely in the mirror of MIA and pops up next to MIA and passes her. JACR does not give away the lead and now is leading with 1 second. Lap 3 and 4 we see JACR putting up good times on the clock and he manages to take over the 2 laps 12 seconds extra. Lap 5 is when MIA gains a second back. JACR then has 2 awful laptimes in a row and the gap between him and MIA is at the end of lap 7 only 3 seconds behind. MIA, surprised with those awful times, follows lead and now puts up such a bad lap that she loses 7 seconds in 1 lap. Lap 9 and 10 both racers keep the same pace and halfway race MIA is behind 10 seconds. Lap 11 is something we have seen happen before in the race to both drivers, we assume it finds its cause in the stress and fear of elimination. Lap 11 resulted in a bad lap for JACR and he lost half his lead. Lap 12 we see MIA lose 1 second, so JACR is 6 seconds ahead. MIA then switches her mentality and manages to catch up to JACR and overtake her in lap 13. They cross the finish line with barely any visible margin, lap 14 & 15 evolve in the same fashion, both racers overtake each other in these laps. MIA then tries to drive away from JACR but can only take a 1 second lead. JACR reduces it back to bumper against bumper in lap 17. JACR waits for his chance and overtakes MIA, MIA however is not impressed and retakes the first place very fast. MIA then overpowers JACR and takes a 7 second gap at the end of lap 18. Is this enough for MIA to take home the victory? JACR does not crumble! JACR takes back 4 seconds in lap 19, not giving in to MIA. JACR catches back up in lap 20 to MIA, shows himself in the mirror again and overtakes in the first part of the race. Mia follows nicely in the slipstream of JACR. MIA awaited their chance and with 1/4th of the race remaining she doesn’t give in anymore and passes the checkered flag first.

    Mathematics vs Ketone
Both racers use a different car for this race, Mathematics showed up revving his Audi R8 on the starting grid, while Ketone showed up using his Honda NSX. Mathematics takes the lead from the starting grid and drives off, Ketone loses 5 seconds in the first lap, at the end of lap 3 Mathematics manages to increase his lead to 10 seconds. Ketone shifts a gear higher in lap 4 and wins back 3 seconds. This shift was however brief since over the next 3 laps Mathematics is clearly the faster one and at the end of lap 7 he leads with 24 seconds. KetBrief again as Mathematics then takes in the next rounds respectively 5, 1 and 1 second. At the end of lap 11 Ketone is 29 seconds behind. Ketone then controls his NSX better and manages to take 5 seconds in lap 12 and 2 seconds in lap 13. This is however followed with a lap where he seems to have been distracted because it was awful, he lost 6 seconds in lap 14 and is now 28 seconds behind. In lap 15 Ketone nibbles 1 second away from the time behind. He however has to quickly shift to a far faster pace if he wants to take the first position. Lap 16 he does exactly so and manages to take 9 seconds in the lap, now 18 seconds behind Mathematics. Mathematics getting from the pit crew the announcement to increase his pace follows suit and he puts up 2 fast laps in a row, increasing over both laps the distance again to 31 seconds. The race has been won so far we assume unless a crash should occur. This does not happen and Mathematics wins the race quite easily.

    ToxicMonkeyMZC vs MIA
ToxicMonkeyMZC showed up at the track in an Audi R8 tuned for dirt and MIA used a Honda NSX tuned for dirt. This promises to be a great race too. The race starts with MIA taking the lead and creating a gap of 5 seconds towards ToxicMonkeyMZC. In lap 2 ToxicMonkeyMZC catches backup and passes MIA. Leading now with 1 second to spare. DUring lap 3 we catch a glimpse of how close this race could be, both racers pass each other but in the end ToxicMonkeyMZC takes 3 more seconds. MIA then catches up right after the dirt part of the track and even passes again now leading with 2 seconds. During the next 2 laps both of them like to play as I call it switcheroo, each lap they did pass the other again. End of lap 6 we have MIA leading with 1 second. In lap 7 ToxicMonkeyMZC manages to catch up and pass MIA and takes a lead of 4 seconds, lap 8 we see a really slow lap happening for ToxicMonkeyMZC where MIA profits from, passes him and now leads with 4 seconds. During lap 9 MIA increases that gap towards 8 seconds. Lap 10 ToxicMonkeyMZC manages to catch up and briefly even overtake MIA, both seem to cross the finish line at the same time but MIA leads this close race. At the end of lap 12 MIA still leads but the difference is still only 1 second. MIA now sets a really fast lap and immediately increases his lead with 9 seconds. Over the next 2 laps ToxicMonkeyMZC nibbles off 5 seconds of the lead and follows at about 5 seconds. Lap 16,17 and 18 result in a break even in the lead. If ToxicMonkeyMZC wants to get a chance he has 2 laps left to overcome 5 seconds. Lap 19 however MIA will seal the deal with getting another really fast lap where he increases the lead to 12 seconds, ToxicMonkeyMZC can’t make up that difference anymore in the final lap. MIA qualifies for the final.

Bronze race : Ketone vs ToxicMonkeyMZC
Both of the contestants in this race will be likely disappointed about their previous loss, but we expect both of them to really make it an exciting race for third place. Being the first race of this day we really hope we get to start with a really nice spectacle. Both Ketone and ToxicMonkeyMZC showed up on the starting grid with a Lexus LFA. ToxicMonkeyMZC takes the lead in the first corner, right before the long straight he is overtaken by Ketone. Ketone drives off and takes a 6 second lead at the end of lap 1. Ketone keeps the pace while ToxicMonkeyMZC still seems to be searching for his rhythm, Ketone adds another 3 seconds to his lead and is now 9 seconds ahead. Lap 3 ToxicMonkeyMZC nibbles a second of his time behind Ketone off. Ketone however keeps upping his pace and now manages to take about 4 seconds more and leads with 12 seconds. A quarter into the race we see Ketone leading, although in the 5th lap the difference became smaller as ToxicMonkeyMZC managed to gain 3 seconds on him. During the 6th lap ToxicMonkeyMZC had an awful lap, losing 4 more seconds on Ketone. The gap is now 13 seconds. It seems that ToxicMonkeyMZC has a bit of issues with the stress, which seems to be odd for a racer of this calibre, is there something wrong with the Lexus LFA? Ketone now increased the gap to 15 seconds. ToxicMonkeyMZC now seems to be going really fast in lap 9, and yes we see him set a really fast lap in which he gains a total of 8 seconds. In 1 lap he managed to get more than half of the time he is behind. The gap is now 7 seconds and we can for certain that there is nothing wrong with the car of ToxicMonkeyMZC, we assume it might have been a distraction earlier. Halfway the race Ketone leads with 6 seconds as he lost 1 more seconds in lap 9 & 10 against ToxicMonkeyMZC. Ketone sets a good pace in lap 11 and is even able to take 6 seconds extra on ToxicMonkeyMZC, he now sees the gap increase to 12 seconds. The next lap ToxicMonkeyMZC shows however that he is a more the deserved racer to have made it this far in the tournament and he manages to take back 10! Seconds in a single lap, reducing the gap to 2 seconds. During lap 13 both racers have the same pace and nothing changes. Ketone was able to grow his lead to 6 seconds in lap 14, however ToxicMonkeyMZC immediately took that back in the next 2 laps. ToxicMonkeyMZC is currently in 2nd place with being 2 seconds behind Ketone. We can certainly say that both racers set a fast pace in this race and are putting each other under pressure. In lap 17 we see that this pressure of performing well impacted ToxicMonkeyMZC, he pushed too far and missed a braking zone in which he now faces an additional 6 seconds behind. We have seen him however take back 10 seconds in 1 lap before in this race so nothing is lost yet. Lap 18 it is Ketone’s turn to miss the braking point in the exact same corner as ToxicMonkeyMZC did the lap before, ToxicMonkeyMZC manages to take back 7 seconds and is about 1 second behind Ketone now. Any normal racer would succumb to such pressure but Ketone does not. Instead he responds by setting a really fast lap time, while the fast pace of ToxicMonkeyMZC keeps the loss in check. The gap however still became 5 seconds with only 1 lap left in the race, sadly for ToxicMonkeyMZC he is not able to overcome this gap anymore and Ketone manages to get 3rd place in Wreckfest. Congratulations to both racers.

    Final Mathematics vs MIA
Here we are with the final race for the main tournament in the winter edition 2021. Both racers were at the start of the tournament not the expected candidates to take back the Champion title in Wreckfest, but after a great parcours for both of them here they are now lining up at the starting grid. The final will be held on Uptown and consist of 20 laps. MIA drove up first on the track in her Lexus LFA followed by Mathematics who chose his Lamborghini Gallardo. They did their warming up laps and are now waiting for the starting signal at the finish line. Who will be the winner of Wreckfest, will be determined after this race. Lights turn on green and off they go!
Mathematics and MIA both accelerated fast towards the first corner. MIA enters the corner first and takes the lead. Halfway the lap the Lamborghini of Mathematics overpowers the Lexus and Mathematics overtakes MIA. Mathematics crosses the finish line first with a 4 second lead over MIA. In lap 2 MIA overtakes and takes the lead after the last long straight in the track, MIA takes 2 seconds on Mathematics and crosses the finish line first. Mathematics gets a good lap and overtakes MIA, he even manages to create a gap of 4 seconds. MIA at the end of the long straight overtakes Mathematics due to a braking error in the first corner. He however can keep bumper to bumper and is able to overtake MIA in the last corner and create a 1 second lead over MIA. During lap 5 MIA overtakes Mathematics and both of them cross the finish line with nearly any difference, due to a really slight difference and the better line in the first corner MIA takes the lead. The entire lap they race bumper to bumper waiting for an error of their opponent. None is made in lap 6 though. Lap 7 Mathematics has a good lap and manages to use the Lambo’s horse power to overtake MIA and create a 4 second gap. In lap 8 Mathematics increases his position with an additional 3 seconds. MIA nibbles 1 second off during lap 9 and 3 more during lap 10. Halfway the race Mathematics has a 3 second lead. Lap 11 starts bad for Mathematics, he gets overtake by MIA and looks up to a 4 second gap in the advantage of MIA. Mathematics then manages to take back 1 second in the next lap. Lap 13 however we see MIA set a really fast lap time (we wouldn’t be surprised if this would be the fastest lap in the race), while Mathematics has a good lap too he still loses 5 seconds to his opponent. The difference is now 8 seconds. Mathematics and MIA are pushing their limits with keeping a good pace, Mathematics manages to take in lap 14 and 15 6 seconds back and follows MIA at 2 seconds. MIA however is confident in their own skill and races relaxed and focused, we see MIA take 5, 3, 1 and 2 seconds in the next 4 laps. With 1 lap to go we think Mathematics has the impossible task of trying to win about 13 seconds on MIA. Mathematics does not give up though and he sets off to race a fast lap, it is however not enough to threaten MIA anymore. MIA is the new Wreckfest winner, while Mathematics can call himself a well deserved finalist. Congrats to both of the racers from the Wreckfest Knockout Tournament Team. Hope we get to see you both again in the next edition.
