Posted on 21:42:20 - 22/11/22 (1 year ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkThere are many reasons to donate. Some donate for tax purposes, some donate to help others, and some donate so that they get that "good feeling".
It doesn't have to be a business reason. It can be. Doesn't have to be.
At the end of the day, does the reason matter if it's win/win? A good cause is a good cause. The only time something like this is negative is if the charity turns out to be a scam or something, something that is unlikely. Also, as the suggestion said, there would be a few charities to choose from. Not likely ALL OF THE LISTED CHARITIES would be a scam.
I mentioned earlier that I donate clothes. I do this because I legitimately want to see less fortunate families have good clothes for themselves and their kids. Not because I'm itemizing my taxes (I don't got time for that shit). -

The gains you'd get from this are in no way going to be needed "to keep up", unless you're maybe entering fashion contests on the regular.
You'd also have the option to donate directly, by seeing the actual charities on the charity page itself, by all means feel free to donate to them. This isn't a zero sum game... You can literally do that. -

If you start selling game enhancing quirks (no matter how small or minor), you will have a section of your player base that will want the product of the transaction, not the charity donation.
LT just published the economic report, show how truly engaged with this game people are. There's a large portion of people who see selecting a book, or doing other things very advantageous. -

Posted on 21:52:51 - 22/11/22 (1 year ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkit really is striking in society that some people not only wish to assume the worst of someones motives and intents behind it but also when given actual evidence regarding why, they'll brush it off as fake.
unless its sym tanking for the past year, ched definitely manipulated that shit. -

Sure 6 years ago shit was different, but nowadays I doubt you cant get it working with some charity and/or third-party, but of course you guys try ;)There's "being genuinely curious" and "just being an asshole". That much is obvious from the "sure bud" when provided with actual sources from the owner himself.

Posted on 21:58:14 - 22/11/22 (1 year ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkEven if people are just doing it for the incentives, or if Torn is doing it for business purposes, it doesn’t really matter. The end result is that money is going to charity. So everyone should be happy here, right?
Player - gets cosmetic/minor benefit
Torn - Community goodwill or tax reasons (which aren’t even real)
Charity - receives donation
I’m confused about what the downsides are here, as long as the “rewards” stay within reason -

Posted on 22:01:28 - 22/11/22 (1 year ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkI want to be the first player to get every book. In the current systems, it looks like that will be no one.
Giving to charity $x per book it just pay to win, and apparently Torn isn't even benefiting from it. -
