    Tarelli [1060371]

When I give to charity I don't do it to get money back...

    finally [2060206]

But why not, if you can? Not like charity gets less, in fact you could donate more if you calculate the deductions of taxes in :) Win win to me :)

    Tarelli [1060371]

    I don't know if I can.

Its not something I'd bother looking in to.

I just give to causes when I see fit.

    finally [2060206]

Sounds like the norm torn player, not giving a damn about their taxes, so cant blame you there! You do you!

    Tarelli [1060371]

My wife is a accountant, why would I care about my taxes???

    finally [2060206]

Clearly your wife is a shit accountant, sorry to tell you.
Your knowledge of taxes is limited/non-existent.
Your logic skill is equivalent to that of an average Labrador.
    Your personality is hot garbage.

See, this is how you take evidence and apply a conclusion.

P.S. Thanks for bringing my attention to the Charity Center! I'll keep a better eye out for its future release!

It's another avenue to give to charity, where some people may opt to donate who would otherwise not have gone out of their way to donate.

Whether you get a tax relief or not on your donation is irrelevant, if you donate elsewhere: WIN. If you donate through Torn: WIN. The type of people to nitpick over their tax relief on a donation are not your average charitable donators anyway.

When you donate the extra dollar or whatever to some charity at a checkout line do you not do it because you want pay 17 cents less in taxes by donating that dollar directly

    Just wondering

You realize the sun don't go down
It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

I don't do it because they never offer to match the donation. Would rather make my own decision on the charity I most prefer than bend to corporate virtue signaling that amounts to supplying a tin can to try to look good.

I think you’re over thinking it, I either shrug and go why not and never miss that dollar again or I go “no thanks” and never think about that dollar again

Okay, not reading the tax rant, but with the ‘select a book’ thing, does that mean for players who’ve been subs and just waiting on one last book on their list…. They can donate and just select that? Or nubs could donate and get Ignorance is Bliss?

I’m not against it exactly…. It’s a bit P2W but I feel the charity angle really cushions the blow for that. That, and people will spend money if they wanna anyway.

I think its not Torn saying instead of donating to charity, give that money to us and we'll donate that to charity, but rather incentivizing people who wouldn't normally donate to donate with in-game items that they might be willing to pay money for. People get their in-game items and charities get their donation.
