Also mentions later that it will increase by “10% each year on average”.Torn's Stock prices are tethered to real-world stocks that are in similar industries, but no more information on this link will be provided so as to prevent manipulation or abuse - we saw what happened to Gamestop.

The new stocks are supposed to mirror real markets, whatever that even means... with the idea of trending up "on average"

"will increase" implies guaranteed, but that's not what Ched said in the announcement thread >
https://www.torn.com/forums.php#/p=threads&f=1&t=16220039&b=0&a=0- Stock prices are expected to increase by an average of 10% per year; however, there are no guarantees. Some stocks can be incredibly volatile, doubling within a month or crashing significantly. -

in a nutshell peps on reddit saw that lots of short sellers were buying gamestop stock and owed it back at a certain day. so they bought up all the GME stock at way overinflated prices to drive it up so the short sellers would lose their moneys. it went up over 2000% from 17$ to over 350 in less than a week in a half

You need to buy the stock ticker with points.
