Thread created on 09:44:08 - 21/02/25 (4 months ago)Edit: These changes mentioned below are no longer required after adjusting our difficulty/reward scale. Please see our more recent announcement for the final changes that were released on 29/04/25.
Citizens,
For each of the ten scenario difficulty levels, we have established specific ranges for both the required Crime XP and the corresponding reward values. Our design intent is that scenarios requiring lower Crime XP should offer rewards at the lower end of the reward scale, while those requiring higher Crime XP should provide rewards toward the top end. However, we recently discovered some inconsistencies: in a few cases, scenarios with low Crime XP requirements are offering rewards near the maximum for that difficulty level. We want to correct these imbalances so that all scenarios within the same difficulty level follow a consistent scaling pattern. Without this adjustment, we risk a situation where a new, more challenging scenario might offer a lower reward than one that is intended to be easier.
After reviewing our data, we have determined that adjustments are required for three scenarios: Mob Mentality, Stage Fright, and Blast From The Past. To resolve these inconsistencies, we have decided to slightly reduce the rewards while also slightly increasing the difficulty. In the near future, we plan to implement the following changes:
-
Mob Mentality (Level 1):
-
Reduce rewards from $720k - $1.4m to $565k - $1m.
-
-
Stage Fright (Level 4):
-
Increase difficulty by approximately 1–6 CPR (depending on role & player's crime XP).
-
Reduce rewards from 15-30 xanax to 13-26 xanax.
-
-
Blast From The Past (Level 7):
-
Increase difficulty by approximately 1–4 CPR (depending on role & player's crime XP).
-
Reduce rewards from $108m - $216m to $99m - $183m.
-
As you can see, these changes are relatively minor, but I want to be fully upfront and transparent about any adjustments. The remaining eight scenarios - including Break the Bank, the most rewarding and challenging Level 8 scenario - will not require any modifications. We will ensure that each new monthly scenario fits within the proper scaling ranges going forward.
Thanks.
