Travel Run json Beta Testing
-
Thread created on 21:08:13 - 23/06/16 (10 years ago)|Last replied 06:00:08 - 09/08/16 (10 years ago)Hey all,
Since ebcdic has not been seen in quite some time, I have decided to move the TravelRun github to a new home. While working on moving it, I saw that someone had requested some pulls to add json functionality, and have decided implement the changes suggested.
I am open to changes and suggestions, but thought I would throw this out there as a beta and gauge interest. I have been working with Mauk and the DOCTORN team to get TravelRun implementation into their project, so that hopefully will also be coming down the pipe.
JSON link: http://travelrun.torncentral.com/records.json
During the beta, I am going to best testing requests and server loads to see what sort of stress is added (I am guessing not much). Once the beta is complete, if any changes are made, I will post an update!
In the mean time, enjoy!

McNeo, they are just the ids for the records in Travel Run:
1: Mexico
2: Cayman Islands
3: Canada
4: Hawaii
5: United Kingdom
6: Argentina
7: Switzerland
8: Japan
9: China
10: UAE
11: South Africa

In general, I like the idea of adding json functionality to travelrun. That gives the API developers a lot of new opportunities.
Thanks for the time and efforts you put in this!

Posted on 03:15:01 - 29/06/16 (10 years ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkWell for everything I do in .NET I can convert any time format to any other easily enough, but I'm not sure what it's like in any other languages. Using the standard just makes it easier for developers all around :)

there is not need to add a time frame. as this defeats the point of Torn's Destination reports and the actual use of the TravelRun Site.
I have been using your http://travelrun.torncentral.com/flowers.php link to pickup info on flowers. the data is not always up to date but can be used as reference. confirmation on the data force's me to use TravelRun and also reminds to use and update the site.
Your API has more than enough information of all items abroad. more than the link i was using a above
having all the data in an API will make people lazy, not come to your site and in the end rely on other people adding new information.
I say don't add a Time reference. -

Posted on 12:26:03 - 01/07/16 (10 years ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkMeh. My IRC bot already goes through the HTML anyway (made before the API) and gets the time. Not that hard to not have to go to the actual site itself.

Posted on 16:51:15 - 01/07/16 (10 years ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkIt's not "needed" - none of it is "needed" - but it's nice to have. TravelRun already gives the last updated time on their pages so they're already tracking that data, it's just a matter of adding it to their API. It would be much easier than scraping the HTML in the forums and be more up-to-date.

Posted on 18:25:10 - 06/08/16 (10 years ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkHello Betty_Butcher,
Could you please add: Combat Helmet, Combat Gloves, Combat Pants and Combat Boots to the Travel Run items list? []
It infuriates me to no end when I blind fly to South Africa, only to find it empty of those items. [:tired:]
And also false information being given out about those item stocks. [:dizzy:]
Thank you for your time and consideration, my friends.Last edited by Dos-Equis-XX on 18:27:20 - 06/08/16 (10 years ago) -

Posted on 17:42:23 - 07/08/16 (10 years ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkHello LouBaker,
Then explain why you still see Armour items in for example: Mexico. []
And you can still see Weapons everywhere. []
If you're going to have Travel Run up and running, then all of the items should be listed.
You would have to take out: Melee Weapons, Primary Weapons, Secondary Weapons, Temporary Items, Enhancers.
Cruise Line Agency provides:Destination Report 10 View stock analysis of all items at a selected country
Flower Shop provides:10 Floral Contacts 10 View stock analysis of flowers in all countries
Toy Shop provides:10 Toy Importer 10 View stock analysis of plushies in all countries
So might as well take Travel Run down since those Companies pretty much cover it . []
I know Travel Run is missing: Construction Helmet, WWII Helmet, Flexible Body Armor?, Liquid Body Armor?, Combat Vest?, Safety Boots, Hiking Boots, Kevlar Gloves. ( ones with ? denote, might be shown on Travel Run but unsure )
For sake of convenience and sanity they should all be listed. [:dizzy:]
I would be insane to quit my current job to join one of the above companies, just to make use of what a great service Travel Run already provides.
Well that's my Dos cents on the subject. []
Thank you for reading, my friends.Last edited by Dos-Equis-XX on 17:44:27 - 07/08/16 (10 years ago) -

Posted on 06:00:08 - 09/08/16 (10 years ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkis there a chance that you do the same for your gym gains formula?
you could ks explode a web api that accepts daily xanax taken, natural energy, gym, etcetera, and returns the number of days needed to reach a stat objective.
this would allow anyone to use your gym gains formula in their tool without accessing torn stats (it's the only reason for which I access torn stats every day). -
