Training is important to improve your stats and grow as a player. Since it is quite complicated there are a lot mistakes to make which will slow you down in the long run. The first part of this guide will describe what influences Gym gains and the second part describes Training strategies.

Part One

According to wiki (Vladars thread) the Gym Gain Formula is this:

(Modifiers)*(Gym Dots)*(Energy Per Train)*[ (3.48 x 10^-7*ln(Happy+250)+3.09 x 10^-6) * (Stat Total) + 6.83 x 10^-5*(Happy+250) -0.03 ]

Modifier
These are Perks you can get from various location:
• Faction Bonus
• Educations
• Jobs
• Properties
• ...
They are counted multiplicative and not additive but everything will help your growth.

Gym Dots

This is refering to the "Dots" you see at Gyms for every stat they offer for training.
E.g. Premier Fitness with 2.0 Dots in every stat compared to Gym 300 with 8.0 Dots for strength (= 4 times as effective).

To get the best results always take the Gyms with the highests Dots for the stat you are training at the moment.

Energy per Train
This is straight forward but it means more Energy spend = more Gym gains.
There are different ways to get more Energy:
• Subscriber/ Donator status (5 E every 10min instead of 15min; 150E limit)
• Daily refill (Refill Energy Bar - Points Building)
• Drugs (Xanax - 250E; LSD - 50E)
• Consumables (Cans, Feathery Hotel Coupon - FHC)
• Stocks (MCS - 100E every 7d)
• Jobs (e.g. Candle shop)
• Seasonal Newsletter (250E every 3 months)
Except for the Newsletter everything has it's price. How much are willing to pay is up to you.

Happy
Happiness has a high impact on your stat gain early on (more details later), so it is best to improve max Happy as fast as possible. The maximum of Happy you can have is determined by the Property you are living in. If you are under the limit it will regenerate at a rate of 5 per 15min or instantly to the limit with a Rehab in Swizz. Happy can be increased over the limit with e.g. consumables, stocks, drugs... but will reset every fifteen minutes on the hour at xx:15 xx:30 xx:45 and xx:00.

The ultimate goal is to get your own Private Island (PI) with a max of 4.225 Happy (without staff). If you can't afford one you should try renting a PI or a Castle depending on how much money you can spend:
• PI ~4200H - 1m/d
• PI ~3700H - 500k/d
• Castle ~ 2700H - 100k/d
• Castle ~ 1500H - 10k/d

Stat Total

The gain of a stat is positivly affected by the stat itself. This means your stat gain will increase the more you train it, up to the limit of 50m.

___________________________________________________________________________

Part two

Setting your training path:
Light-, Middle-, Heavy-Weight Gyms can be unlocked without restrictions but there are Specialized Gyms with unlock requirements (wiki). These Gyms have higher Gym Dots for the stat they offer but restrict other stats you can have without loosing access, e.g.:
• Balboas Gym - Defense + Dexterity 25% higher than Strength + Speed (& Cha Cha's Unlocked).
• Gym 300 - Strength 25% higher than your second highest stat (& George's unlocked).
This leads to two common training Ratios:

1.25 : 1 : 1 : 0 ("Hank's Ratio")

Str : Dex : Def : Spe
Spe : Dex : Def : Str

Dex : Str : Spe : Def
Def : Str : Spe : Dex

Leaving one stat behind the others can be trained at the highest rates possible ( Primary stat with 8.0; Secondary with 7.5 Gym Dots).

1.25:1:0.75:0.75 ("Baldr's Ratio")

Str : Spe : Dex : Def
Spe : Str : Dex : Def
Dex : Def : Str : Spe
Def : Dex : Str : Spe

This Ratio is for a more balanced build with slightly lower training effectivity for the tertiary stats (7.3 Gym Dots at George's).

Summary:

Strenght (Str) and Speed (Spe) are offensive stats who are complementing each other. To deal reliable damage both should to be trained. Therefore Baldr's Ratio fits best for Str/ Spe builds.

Dexterity (Dex) and Defense (Def) are defensive stats which work independent from each other. Hank's Ratio is suited for a focused Def or Dex build which can still put out damage. (Use Baldr's Ratio for a more balanced defensive Build)

All options have ups and downs but you should set a path early on. Changes are possible but they are harder later on.

Training Stats under 400k
Happiness is the key! Underneath 400k it is more effective to have higher Happy then Energy to spend.
The best gains are expected with 99k jumps but they are costly and need time to set up (Job points). Therefore alternative jumps were developed:

99k Jumps
Effective to ~1.6m per stat.
50 Happy per Job Point
Company: FARM, CANDLE SHOP, PROPERTY BROKER, MUSIC STORE, TOY SHOP, ZOO
• Max PI = 5000 Happy
• 5 DVDs = 12500 Happy
• Job Points = 650
• 4 Xanax = 1000E
• 25 Points - Refill Energy Bar
• Ecstasy - Happy doubles to 100k
Price: (EDVD ~16,5m; Drugs ~ 3,5m) ~20m
Setup time: 65d in a 10*Company

Full Guide: Max Happy Guide

Happy Jump (HJ) - 35k Happy
Effective to ~560k per stat.
• Max PI = 5000 Happy
• 5 DVDs = 12500 Happy
• 4 Xanax = 1000E
• 25 Points - Refill Energy Bar
• Ecstasy - Doubles Happy
Price: (EDVD ~16,5m; Drugs ~ 3,5m) ~20m
Setup time: (7h per drug) ~ 35h

Full Guide: Happy Jump Visual Guide

Player based Insurances can reduce the loss in case od an OD. [HAPPY JUMP INSURANCE]
Use with caution! Read the Terms and Conditions!

Choco Jump - 12,4k Happy
Effective to ~20k per stat.
• Max PI = 5000 Happy
• 48 Big Box of Chocolate = 1200 Happy
• Natural Energy + 1 Xanax = 350E (400 for subscriber/ donator)
• 25 Points - Refill Energy Bar
• Ecstasy - Doubles Happy
Price: ~1m
Setup time: ~ 24h (Consumable CD - Can be halfed by taking only 24 Box of Choco)

Full Guide: Choco Jump

Note:
• "Book : Ignorance Is Bliss" - allows Happy to increase to 99.999 for 31d
• Prices may vary.
• Overdose chance per listed drug is ~2%; Stacking for a full HJ has a ~8% chance to fail.
• These are only the basic Jumps. Adopt them depending on your situation (e.g. higher consumable CD, more E through Jobs...)

Training Stats over 400k

This is the turning point when the stat total gets more influence than Happiness. Therefore stacking Energy and wasting natural Energy regeneration is detrimental for your growth. Increasing Happy has still a positive effect but using Cans or FHC for Energy has an higher impact.

Fastest progress:
• Natural Energy regeneration 100E every 5h (150E for donator/ subscriber)
• Xanax 24/7 (250E - ~850k each)
• Daily Refill (25 points)
• FHC 24/7 (6h booster CD - 100/150E - ~13,5m each)
• Companys (Farm - 7E/jp; Candle shop - 5E/jp; Furniture Store - 3E/jp...)
• Stocks (MCS - 100E; EVL - 1000Happy every 7d)
• Seasonal Newsletter (250E every 3 months)
Regular Rehabs to reduce addiction and restore Happy needed

Alternatives:
• LSD (50E)
• Energy Cans (2h booster CD - 5-30E - ~3,5m - 350k each)
• Increase Happy (booster CD)
• Stat enhancer (6h booster CD - 1% stat gain - ~450m each)
Books:
• Book: Brawn oer Brains
• Book: Time is in the Mind
• Book: Keeping your face Handsome
• Book: A job for your Hands
Each book will increase one stat by 5% up to 10m. Use them after 200m of the targeted stat for max gain.

Training is costly and Energy consuming, you always have to wage it up against other activities (Mission, Faction Chains, Events...) and if you can afford to spend the Money rather then Investing (Armor, Weapons, passive income...). Don't forget, i can only show you the door. You're the one that has to walk through it.

Vlad is repairing the calculator from time to time. You can try again later.
Otherwise i found Toga's Gym Simulator (Thread) which seems nice to predict Jumps.
Be careful with using the API Key!

If you're doing Chocojumps to 400k you're doing much more harm than good and better off with even just one Xanax + natural E.

So Chocojumps are the best up to 20k stats. Then it becomes 2 xanax + natural E in the same time frame (which also allows you to use your cooldown on beer).

Comparing the two cheaper comparisons, you can see where one surpasses the other but here is the exact % below;

If you can't afford the two Xanax, you're probably wanting to stop doing chocojumps by around 80k stat IMO as you can then work to grow your networth/passive income with the 350k saved per day.

The figures will be different if you run them in Vladar's calc as I removed perks but the %'s should stay the same.

E: It goes without saying that of course 3 Xanax and a proper happy jump has the greatest yield but I was just looking at early doors here where if you are looking at this you don't have the 20mil to do a happy jump.

I didn't spend to much time with the calculator.
If you could compare each jump with Xanax + Natural regen over the same time i will include the exact stats when the jumps become worse. (like the 20k with choco jumps)

People have been discussing the solar system since humans could speak, so many theories are similar...yet most are wrong, with the earth actually being supported by 4 mighty elephants on the shell of a giant turtle....

Maybe one of these gym guides will be the 4 mighty elephant + turtle guide

Great guide for those trying to be more efficient with their hard earned money. I have a hard time visualizing but a quick message to meckie93 got me squared away. The only way to make it better for people like me would be to have a step by step guide for the different processes. (I wouldn't want to write one) Thanks!

Nope ChocoJumps are the best to 400k. Half choco jumps specifically:

BONUS METHOD (2x/Day Choco Jump): Expert Level - Half Choco Method
• Do Choco Method except only take 22-24 Big Boxes of Chocolate MAX (I recommend 22 for more flexibility)
• Since you only have a 11-12 hour Booster Cooldown, you can do this method twice/day if you time it right.
With the half choco jump method you'd be taking 2 xans day btw. I should probably take the time to revise the choco jump method so that the half choco jump method is the primary method, because it really is significantly better.

Energy per Train This is straight forward but it means more Energy spend = more Gym gains. There are different ways to get more Energy: [ul][li]Subscriber/ Donator status (5 E every 10min instead of 15min; 150E limit) [/li] [li]Daily refill (Refill Energy Bar - Points Building)[/li] [li]Drugs (Xanax - 250E; LSD - 50E)[/li] [li]Consumables (Cans, Feathery Hotel Coupon - FHC)[/li] [li]Stocks (MCS - 100E every 7d)[/li] [li]Jobs (e.g. Candle shop) [/li] [li]Seasonal Newsletter (250E every 3 months)[/li] [/ul]Except for the Newsletter everything has it's price. How much are willing to pay is up to you. Happy Happiness has a high impact on your stat gain early on (more details later), so it is best to improve max Happy as fast as possible. If you can't afford one you should try renting a PI or a Castle depending on how much money you can spend: [ul][li]PI ~4200H - 1m/d[/li] [li]PI ~3700H - 500k/d[/li] [li]Castle ~ 2700H - 100k/d[/li] [li]Castle ~ 1500H - 10k/d[/li] [/ul] Stat Total The gain of a stat is positivly affected by the stat itself. This means your stat gain will increase the more you train it, up to the limit of 50m. [s]___________________________________________________________________________[/s] Part two Setting your training path: Light-, Middle-, Heavy-Weight Gyms can be unlocked without restrictions but there are Specialized Gyms with unlock requirements (wiki). These Gyms have higher Gym Dots for the stat they offer but restrict other stats you can have without loosing access, e.g.: [ul][li] Balboas Gym - Defense + Dexterity 25% higher than Strength + Speed (& Cha Cha's Unlocked).[/li] [li]Gym 300 - Strength 25% higher than your second highest stat (& George's unlocked).[/li] [/ul]This leads to two common training Ratios: 1.25 : 1 : 1 : 0 ("Hank's Ratio") Str : Dex : Def : Spe Spe : Dex : Def : Str Dex : Str : Spe : Def Def : Str : Spe : Dex Leaving one stat behind the others can be trained at the highest rates possible ( Primary stat with 8.0; Secondary with 7.5 Gym Dots). 1.25:1:0.75:0.75 ("Baldr's Ratio") Str : Spe : Dex : Def Spe : Str : Dex : Def Dex : Def : Str : Spe Def : Dex : Str : Spe This Ratio is for a more balanced build with slightly lower training effectivity for the tertiary stats (7.3 Gym Dots at George's). Summary: Strenght (Str) and Speed (Spe) are offensive stats who are complementing each other. (Use Baldr's Ratio for a more balanced defensive Build) All options have ups and downs but you should set a path early on. Changes are possible but they are harder later on. Training Stats under 400k Happiness is the key! Underneath 400k it is more effective to have higher Happy then Energy to spend. The best gains are expected with 99k jumps but they are costly and need time to set up (Job points). Therefore alternative jumps were developed: 99k Jumps Effective to ~1.6m per stat. 50 Happy per Job Point Company: FARM, CANDLE SHOP, PROPERTY BROKER, MUSIC STORE, TOY SHOP, ZOO [ul][li]Max PI = 5000 Happy[/li] [li]5 DVDs = 12500 Happy [/li] [li]Job Points = 650[/li] [li]4 Xanax = 1000E [/li] [li]25 Points - Refill Energy Bar [/li] [li]Ecstasy - Happy doubles to 100k [/li] [/ul]Price: (EDVD ~16,5m; Drugs ~ 3,5m) ~20m Setup time: 65d in a 10*Company Full Guide: Max Happy Guide Happy Jump (HJ) - 35k Happy Effective to ~560k per stat. [ul][li]Max PI = 5000 Happy[/li] [li]5 DVDs = 12500 Happy [/li] [li]4 Xanax = 1000E [/li] [li]25 Points - Refill Energy Bar[/li] [li]Ecstasy - Doubles Happy [/li] [/ul]Price: (EDVD ~16,5m; Drugs ~ 3,5m) ~20m Setup time: (7h per drug) ~ 35h Full Guide: Happy Jump Visual Guide Player based Insurances can reduce the loss in case od an OD. [/li] [li]Overdose chance per listed drug is ~2%; Stacking for a full HJ has a ~8% chance to fail. [/li] [li]These are only the basic Jumps. Adopt them depending on your situation (e.g. higher consumable CD, more E through Jobs...) [/li] [/ul] Training Stats over 400k This is the turning point when the stat total gets more influence than Happiness. Therefore stacking Energy and wasting natural Energy regeneration is detrimental for your growth. Increasing Happy has still a positive effect but using Cans or FHC for Energy has an higher impact. Fastest progress: [ul][li]Natural Energy regeneration 100E every 5h (150E for donator/ subscriber) [/li] [li]Xanax 24/7 (250E - ~850k each) [/li] [li]Daily Refill (25 points)[/li] [li]FHC 24/7 (6h booster CD - 100/150E - ~13,5m each)[/li] [li]Companys (Farm - 7E/jp; Candle shop - 5E/jp; Furniture Store - 3E/jp...)[/li] [li]Stocks (MCS - 100E; EVL - 1000Happy every 7d)[/li] [li]Seasonal Newsletter (250E every 3 months)[/li] [/ul]Regular Rehabs to reduce addiction and restore Happy needed Alternatives: [ul][li]LSD (50E)[/li] [li]Energy Cans (2h booster CD - 5-30E - ~3,5m - 350k each)[/li] [li]Increase Happy (booster CD)[/li] [li]Stat enhancer (6h booster CD - 1% stat gain - ~450m each) [/li] [/ul]Books: [ul][li]Book: Brawn oer Brains[/li] [li]Book: Time is in the Mind[/li] [li]Book: Keeping your face Handsome[/li] [li]Book: A job for your Hands [/li] [/ul]Each book will increase one stat by 5% up to 10m.
