Short Haul ( below 2 hours total travel time)

Medium Haul ( Total travel time between 2 - 5 hours)

Long Haul ( Total travel time more than 5 hours)

For people without any PI:

Short Haul - Mexico, Caymans, and Canada.

Medium Haul - Hawaii and United Kingdom

Long Haul - Argentina, Swiss, Japan, UAE, China, and South Africa.


For People with PI with Airstrip and Who hired a private pilot ($30000/day):

Short Haul - Mexico, Caymans, and Canada.

Medium Haul - Hawaii, United Kingdom, Argentina, Switzerland, and Japan.

Long Haul - UAE, China, and South Africa.


For people having WLT stock Benefit Block and access private jet (~6.4 B)

Short Haul - Mexico, Caymans, Canada, and Hawaii.

Medium Haul - United Kingdom, Argentina, Swiss, Japan, UAE, China, and South Africa.

Joining in 10* Lingerie store (Business class flight always available) or using a business class ticket will reduce the flight time by 50% on top of any of the above.

The amount of carrying items can be increased by various ways. I am just copying it from Official Wiki (For completion purposes). You can find it in detail at Wiki|Travel

Carrying Items

The default number of items that you may carry home from a destination is five per visit. There are upgrades that allow you to increase the number of items that you can carry.

Adding an Airstrip and pilot to your property, owning a WLT benefit block or using a business class ticket will change the base amount of items you can carry to 15.
Suitcases are available for purchase in Hawaii: Small ($2,000,000) - 2 additional items; Medium ($4,000,000) - 3 additional items; Large ($10,000,000) - 4 additional items. Only the biggest one will be used. Suitcases do not stack.
The 3 Star Lingerie Store gives Job special adds an extra 2 items
The 3 and 10 star Cruise Line Agency Job Specials add an extra 2 and 3 items respectively. I.e. They stack.
The Excursion faction special adds 1 item per upgrade up to a maximum of 10.
Book : Smuggling For Beginners, Increases travel items by 10 for 31 days.
Tourism day on the 27th of September doubles carrying capacity.
7* Flower Shops allow you to carry 5 additional flowers.
7* Toy Shops allow you to carry 5 additional plushies.
The maximum number of items that you can carry is 44 items (on Tourism day, 88 items).

For the job special of extra carrying capacity.

Note:You can not buy the whole amount at a time. You need to buy till your upper limit first and then again you need to buy the extra items.

Ex: You are working at a flower shop with extra 5 flower carrying job special enabled.
And, If your normal upper limit is 29 (PI with airstrip + Faction perk + Large Briefcase).

You need to first buy 29 of any item.
Then you can buy 5 more flowers (only).

This extra doesn't seem to be doubled during the World tourism day.

Cruise Line special only will double during Tourism day (27th September)



For best returns from travelling...

You need a PI with airstrip (rental or own) and a Large briefcase (+4) (available at item market at around 10.1 mil and at Hawaii for 10 mil), and A faction with +10 travel capacity perk.

And try doing at least 4 trips per day or >12 hr/day air time.



Coming to the availability Mechanics... (From YATA)







These are the recent trends of plushies and flowers runout times taken from Yata.

These are the general trends for almost everyday.

The main intake is,

- Plushies run out faster.
(Main reason is not them being popular, but the stocks are 1/4th compared to their counterpart flowers. So when considering that, you can just say that both of them are bought in almost equal amounts per time).

- The restock timing doesn't seem to follow the popular 'half the time from selling out' mechanism as many people suggest.

- The restock maximum limit seems to be 2:30 hr. almost 1/4th of the time taken for clearance which is rounded for the next tick.

Some noteworthy points to be made.
- Except for occasional discrepancies, It seems to me that almost all plushies run out within a span of 1 to 1 hr. 30 mins for countries Mexico to swiss. 1 hr. 30 mins to 2 hr. for UAE, China, and SA.

- On the other hand, the runout time for flowers seems to be primarily dependent on availability of plushies at corresponding countries. That means they sell faster when the plushies runout and they sell slower when the plushies are stocked.

- Plushies restock 2500 at a time.

- Flowers restock 10000 at a time.


Suggestions Derived:

- Before travel checking helper sites (Torntools, Yata, and Arsonware) for available stocks.

- Basing your travel on flower stocks will guarantee the availability. Due to the high stock values and relatively precise restocking mechanism.

- If there are no flowers available at the starting of journey. That means any one way travel below 2 hours can still make them stay unavailable.

- Post Dirty Bomb restocking seems to be delayed for 2:30 hr for all plushies too, similar to flowers, because the clearance times will be prolonged due to air field lock down. So, if you see a plushie is out of stock after air field is cleared from a dirty bomb (It clears after six hour 'ticks' from the time the DB is primed. Ex: If you a DB is primed at 1:40 TCT ... you can fly after 7:00 TCT) you may end up with no stocks for the next 2:30 hrs from the clearance.

CRISP GUIDANCE for guaranteed availability

Any short haul travel:

Start when Plushies are around 1500 - 2500 and Flowers above 1500.


Any Medium haul travel:

Start when Plushies are less than 500 or Just restocked (more than 2300) and Flowers are more than 2000.


Any Long haul travel (most tricky):

It is most advisable to start depending on the availability of flowers rather than plushies.

Flowers more than 4000 and Plushies at 1000-1500 (hoping one cycle will complete and fresh stock will be available by the time you land).

Highly recommend not to start when plushie count is at 0 or flower count below 2000.

What if I screwed up my calculations and there are no plushies or flowers available by the time I land? When to wait and when to return quick?

There are some nice other items you can buy instead of plushies or flowers. So asking a faction mate or friend to quickly send some cash to buy them instead would be the best quick fix. (applicable only when they are available and when you can afford them).

Ex:
Large suitcase at Hawaii (need 290mil/29 items)
Xanax at South Africa (need ~22m/29 items)
Smoke grenade at South Africa (need 580k/29 items)
Tear gas at Argentina (need 435k/29 items)
Flash Grenade at Switzerland (need 348k/29 items)
LSD at South Africa (need ~1m/29 items)
Ecstasy at china (need ~1.3m/29 items)
Do not spend on any weapons or armor if you are pretty new to travel. They are hard to sell.

And If you have no other option available from the above list, It is better to quickly return with empty hands rather than waiting from

Mexico (Jaguar plushie is costly so others tend to think you must have some money on you and will mug you quick),
Caymans (there is a bank so you will get mugged easily, though you have no more than 20k at hand; they just don't know that),
Argentina (most popular destination so possible to have higher number of muggers),
Switzerland (due to the rehab center mugging is more),
Any long haul (people try to spend the extra energy by attacking others at these destinations).

And it can virtually happen anywhere if we are one leaf short of a four leaf clover. And reason may not always be mugging but the merit for '100 wins abroad'.

The restock always occurs after a tick (xx:00, xx:15, xx:30, and xx:45) just like any other NPC store in torn. So if you reach the destination near to a tick (only less than 2 minutes), you can try staying until the tick passes for the possible restock.

And rest is your personal preference.


Should I buy a revive if got mugged overseas?

It is mainly a personal preference, which is derived from the activity patterns of you and the importance you give to energy and Nerve.

The directive principles would be,

- Always pay a revive with a Xanax (because it is cheaper than 1 mil; 800k revive would be still cheaper if you can find one, which is hard overseas). After the recent medical changes, it has become a bit hard to find revivers abroad.

- If you are only doing one or two trips a day, it doesn't worth it. Wait it out.

(The amount you can earn in the 40 mins is a maximum of 300k if you are a normal player with a PI, up to 600k if you have WLT BB).

- And if you want to sleep it is better not to leave them be in overseas. Because you can just do a fresh flight when you wake up and you won't be losing any natural energy.

- If you value training your energy/Nerve without loss, even then you can wait it out in short haul destinations. (buying energy is always costly)

- Urgent needs like chaining, wars and trades can make a difference too.

Spending excess money while in the flight...

You would need a PC (no mail facility) or a Laptop ( ~1 mil ), which allows you to mail, stocks, Virus coding, Newspaper, and Events.

Use your money to buy stocks and leave only the needed amount in the hand.

I don't know about stocks...

You can buy up needed stocks bit by bit without thinking about prices. The most profitable stocks will balance out the high price (if you had to buy at high price) fairly early. So, buy them in pieces to make the full Benefit Block.

Ex: HRG, LSC, SYM, FHG, TCHS. (In the returns wise), More info at Bug's guide.

LSC > TCHS > HRG > SYM > FHG ( Price wise; Because if you buy in this order BBs will be bought fairly early and they will start paying you back.)

I need the money back later when I land...

You can still buy stocks and sell them immediately. The amount will be turned into bankers' cheques and you will have 24 hour time to claim it. But how fast they will be sold and whether you get all the money or less depends on market risks,

The point prices are tightly bound to plushie and flower prices. They are fluctuating a lot. But that is the only outlet for all the plushies and flowers.
in my opinion flying is still worthy for earning without spending time in game. Rest is your personal preference

After Stocks 3.0:

• You can not buy or sell stocks while in air. So any money you get while flying will stay with you through out the travel period until you land in Torn again.
• Now there is a 15 sec protection from any attacks after landing the flight, either in torn or in a foreign country. If you can put up an alarm to come online just a minute before you land and wait for the landing, you can virtually be free of getting attacked. You can buy or bank your money and return from a foreign country or Caymans island and you can save your money after landing in torn.
