UPDATE: This guide was updated for the new stats cap on May 5th, 2023

UPDATE 2: If you find difficult to achieve this honor, I can provide individual coaching, on a pay-what-you-want basis. I will tell you exactly what do do. Just contact me.

How to get the NICE honor

The requirements for the NICE honor are a bit weird:

    - Your battle stats (STR, DEF, SPD, DEX) must contain 5 times either a 69, or a 420 (let's call them "nice numbers")
    - Both the 69 and the 420 must be present at least once
    - The digits after the decimal point are not taken into account

It is not required that every single stat contains a nice number. However, it is easier if they do.
The more digits we have, the easier it is to get the nice numbers in. I recomment to start when all your battle stats are at least 100,000 or even better 1,000,000.
    The hardest parts are:

    - Since we have 4 stats, and we need 5 nice numbers, at least one of the stats must contain two nice numbers
    - The 420 is harder to place, since it requires 3 digits, while the 69 requires only 2

There are two ways to solve these two problems:

    a) Get a 420 and a 69 in a single battle stat; then, it will be easy to get one 69 in each of the other stats
    b) Get a 420 in one stat, then get two 69 in another, then get a 69 in each of the other

So, let's make an example. Say our stats are like this:

    STR 350,884
    DEF 680,324
    SPD 520,333
    DEX 177,142

I would try to do, for instance:

    STR 420,69x
    DEF 69x,xxx
    SPD xxx,69x
    DEX xxx,x69

Alternatively, if we fail getting the required STR, we can change like this:

    STR 420,xxx
    DEF 69x,69x

But how do we get exactly the required increment? We need to use Vladar's calculator. It operates on one stat at a time, which is exactly what we need.
The original sheet calculates the stat gains based on the old stat value and some other parameters. I made a small change to it, so that it also shows the new stat value. You can find the patched calculator here:

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DOPyRZh1mNQaiaWW-KXBv_cE2d1xzSnwRMa7DciotMA/edit?usp=sharing

You cannot edit this file, you need to make a copy to use it.

For an example, let's try to get the STR to 420,69x. Here are the steps:

    1) Go close to 420,000 with normal training (this may require days)
    2) Open the calculator
    3) Enter the perks in the column F
    4) Enter your typical happy in column G
    5) Enter the current value of your battle stat in column H

In order to avoid rounding errors, I recommend entering the EXACT stat value, which may include decimals. This is especially necessary if you want to go for xxx
Please note, the gym view in the game always rounds down, while the calculator rounds for precision. So, if your correct stat is 123,456.78, Torn city gym will display 123,456. In the calculator you should paste the exact value 123,456.78 (more on that later), but you will see 123,457 because it is rounded up (since 0.78 is greater than 0.5).
How do you get the exact decimal value? You have to look at the latest event in your event log. It will be something like:

07:21:13 - 11/11/2020 You used 5 energy and 3 happiness training your defense in Global Gym increasing it by 138.32 to 123,456.78

The precise stat value is 123,456.78: you have to copy it in the calculator.
Now it comes to the hardest part: you have to experiment with the various gyms you have available, with different energy spendings, until you go close to one of the desired values.

Let's say that, for instance, with a certain energy spent on a certain gym you reach the value 420,688. This is not enough: we want to reach at least 420,690; even better, to avoid rounding problems, we should aim for 420,695, in order to be able to tolerate errors.
The key here is increasing the happy. If, for instance, your base happy is 5025, try to increase it in the calculator until the projected new stat value is 420,695. Then, see if it is feasible to increase your happy to the desired value. If it is, for instance, 6000, you can easily reach it with cheap candies. If it is higher, you might use expensive candies, DVDs, ecstasy.
Once you have planned all the details, you can take action. Get your happy at the desired level at the beginning of the 15-minutes mark, select the desired gym, choose how many trainings to perform and GO.

    A few caveats:

    a) If you are a recruit in your faction (i.e. you have a green faction icon because you joined it since less than 3 days) the perks are not active. In position F2 you would then enter 0. But beware, if you plan while you are a recruit, and before taking action you become a regular member, it won't work well.
    b) Remember that Xanax also gives a happy boost of 75. This usually helps you, but if you forget taking into account it may ruin your efforts.
    c) If you are going for a nice number at the end, like in xxx,x69, the rounding may cause problems. When the calculator shows xxx,x69 as the outcome, take the initial stat value with decimals, the projected gains with decimals and sum them manually using a calculator (or writing the calculation in Google). You want the result to be close to xxx,x69.5, which will keep you safe.

If you try this guide, let me know. I would especially like to know if you encounter problems: in this case, I will update the guide.

    Nice

If you are going to use the calculator by vladar, I recommend (when you are close to getting those nice numbers) to only play around the lightweight gyms, mainly the premier fitness (first gym)

Also don't forget that everytime you train you lose a bit of happy so keep that in mind

About the loss of happy: Vladar's calculator already takes this into account.
So we can just train all at once and ignore the problem.

Nice guide. I followed it almost exactly, and I got two stats with xxx,x69. One difference was I used the updated gym calculator:

    https://www.torn.com/forums.php#/p=threads&f=61&t=16182535&b=0&a=0

If anyone wants more details on the algebra involved I will update this post.

Easiest way to do this surely is get all stats to 420m?
69m also works easier to have 10k mistake allowed than 1k...
Basically do one at 420.69m the rest at 420m.. Allows you the chance to even out your stats again and also gives you 10k leeway on the 690k before you make a mistake, if you do, fine you have 3 other stats to get to 690k.
Also 4.2bn, 42bn and so on but 420m is the most realistic for players who are serious enough to even try this merit.

So far I have started by trying to get my "hundred thousand" numbers to 420, I havent gotten any luck on the first 2 by getting a 69 in the lower numbers anywhere. I had to jump around to lower gym levels to get it, but it was doable. Should be able to get the third one at 420_ _ _ by tomorrow, hoping for a 69.

Anyone have suggestions to lower gains? I could leave faction, Leave my PI, I can't count on an Overdose.

    I wouldn't rush the merit.

I got it in a few weeks of just playing with it no calculating anything. Just rolled 1 train until I got a double 69 then did the rest. IMO it's a passive grind and to lower your gains in hopes to get it is just inefficient overall.

I thought we had to get a 420 AND a 69 in the same stat. So I have been focusing on that. Is that not the case?

No you don't but since you need 5x of 420 or 69 and a min of 1 of each. you'll end up with a double either 2x 420 or 1x 420 and 1x 69 or 2x 69 in one stat. and the rest have one of either 69 or 420s

    Thanks for this guide.

Quick tip, you can also use the solver on happiness to help you.
I.e. on dex, I've set the hundred thousand to be 420 by changing E manually. And then, I've asked the solver to find the happy needed for the next 69. Sometimes, the solver will find you a close number if its unable to find 69. That's why, you sometimes need to keep increasing your bs or change the location of the 69.

    https://i.imgur.com/OykmjIv.jpg

Also, you need to use all the E needed at once, right? To get the same result as the sheet. I will probably gradually increase dex to 10.400M (a bit less than 420) as the thousands shouldn't be difficult to get manually. And then, I will reuse the solver to find the happy needed for 69.
And for the other battle stats, it should be easy enough if I switch to george instead of the special gyms (When I'm close to target).

Moreover, obviously, ask a friend to use a special item on you to decrease your happy then use candies to increase it close to the target. And then wait for it to increase naturally.

    Thanks again :D

Got it today. Your strat was helpful. Though all the calculators seem to be off. I got 2 69s in one number randomly which completed my mission. It took quite a while

    Strength 420,224,669 −5%
    Defense 420,269,692 +4%
    Speed 420,448,169 +1%
    Dexterity 420,513,697

    Am I close?

Do I need to just have 69 in one stat to trigger the merit

update. I already had the merit. Smh
