Elimination starts on September the 5th --- Get ready
I love Elimination. For some of us, it is the best event in Torn. If you are thinking of participating this year, here are some things you can plan to make the most of this unique annual competition.
Plan ahead- Plan your book to read
You get the most value out of some books when you have large amounts of attacking. See what books you have available and save the best one for September.
Examples:
- Fight Like An Asshole - 25% passive increase on all stats
- Medical Degree Schmedical Degree - reduces hospital time by 50% (this may or may not be helpful depending on your style)
- Weaseling Out Of Trouble - 100% passive to dexterity
- What Are Old Folk Good For Anyway? - increases all EXP gains by 25% - Plan your job
Some job perks can be very helpful during a war. See the wiki for all the details. Remember: perks don't start until you've been in the company for 3 days. Check that the company has enough stars for the perk that you want.
Examples:
- Gas Station - occasional healing during combat (nice!) plus burn perks (details)
- Clothing Store - 25% passive dexterity
- Furniture Store - 25% passive strength
- Music Store - 15% passive on all stats
- Farm - lots of extra e, but really only helpful if you have had time to build up points
- Meat / Pub - melee damage
- Logistics - ...lol, just kidding - Plan your faction specials
Find out if your faction will have war specials active for Elimination. If not, perhaps a friendly faction or another faction in your faction family will host you for a few weeks. If you choose to hop, be sure to let your leaders know what you're doing. It's like, manners. - Plan your setup
- Go to settings, then Attack Settings. How will you handle the constant barrage of assaults against you? Will you start with pepper spray (move temp item to 100%) so that your attacker takes some hits? Are you more of a fist/kick person? Remember, this is for defending and does not affect your attacking. Choose wisely.
- Buy Ammo - after you plan your setup, make sure you don't run out of necessities in the middle of a fight
- Buy Temps / Boosters - Yes, the price will go up a little, but mostly you don't want to run out. Buy your fav's now.
- Mods - If you changed your weapons, don't forget your mods. Want to try something new? Now is a great time.
- Merits - Still have last year's Christmas present from Ched sitting around getting dusty? Perhaps try a new, aggressive setup.
- Loadouts - Remember you have multiple loadouts. Prepare one for when you're attacking/active, and another for when you're inactive/sleeping (important note: only pansies and traitors sleep during elimination)
Example:
- Defensive loadout - may include smokes or serotonin because it's freaking annoying to attackers
- Offensive loadout - may include epinephrine or flash grenades and your primary weapon that has lots of special ammo -
Plan to get new merits
- A lot of merits are associated with war. If planned well, you can make a lot of progress on several at once. If not planned, you could really miss out on some easy progress.
Examples:
- 1,000 finishing hits in every category - check which categories you still need on your personal stats page
- Weapon experience - now is a great time to start a new weapon or finish an old one
- Fire 10k/100k rounds - choose a weapon that really "sprays"
- Use 1k/10k rounds of special ammunition - don't forget to equip
- Revive 500/1k people, Revive 10 people in 10 minutes - very achievable for revivers - Plan how to handle getting hit all day
- Blood bags - time to stock up. Buy and/or fill.
- Revives - make friends with a reviver who needs the merit or arrange your contract ahead of time before demand goes up - Plan to maximize your hits
Energy is king in Torn. For best results...
- Increase energy - Get more energy from supplies - get your Xanax, cans, and/or FHC stock in order. Buy points. Set up a coffee maker next to your computer. Let your friends and family know that you'll be unavailable for a long time.
- Prevent wasted energy on poor attacks - install a tool that quickly helps you see how amazing your opponent is.
Examples:
- TornTools is pretty much the go-to tool these days. Super helpful for getting important info or customizing your screen.
- TornStats - Hook into your faction's spy database if you have one.
- Other tools - there are lots of tools now that can give you a competitive advantage. Your opponents will have them. So should you. - Plan to play with friends
Elimination is arranged in such a way that you only have a random chance of getting on the same team with your friends. However, you can start chatting with your friends now to see who will be participating. Then, when the teams are set, you can find out which teams your BFF's are on and start talking smack. It really enhances the experience to share a loss or victory with those whose sarcasm you most appreciate. - Revivers...
- Get into a reviving faction
- Get your discord server set up if that's your style - a lot of players request revives this way because trade chat is messy
- Get a plan for contracts
- Start making contacts and advertising your service before it is needed to become the go-to reviver for many players
I will happily add your great ideas to the list. If you have corrections/edits to my list, please let me know.
What else?

I think any job that gives extra E is also interesting for Eliminination: Candle Shop and Game Shop both give 50 E per day extra if 10*
If you saved jobpoints last half year it’s even 500 E per day max (100 jobpoints)
Like to see some good tips for revivers to make money? I just finished edu for it so would consider to build networth instead of joining..

The wiki says +25% Dexterity at 5 stars for a clothing store. Is that not correct?

I was just saying that clothing or furniture gives you dex or str, respectively. Not both. I was trying to keep a lot of info short and concise.
I'll change it to make it more clear. -
