I started following Aleksandrwolf's thread in hopes that there is one perfect souvenir. However, it seemed to trigger on different overseas items for different players. It is frustrating to have another rng-based merit...but what if I told you it's actually possible to figure out your souvenir before hand?
DISCOVER YOUR SOUVENIR HONOR TRIGGER BELOW
There are exactly 25 items overseas which can trigger the souvenir - the one chosen to match the last 2 digits of your ID could have an offset of 25. This means, for example, a Mayan Statue would trigger the merit for anyone whose ID ends in 00, 25, 50, or 75
ID ENDS WITH
00 - Mayan Statue (Mexico)
01 - Hockey Stick (Canada)
02 - Pele Charm (Hawaii)
03 - Soccer Ball (Argentina)
04 - Jade Buddha (China)
05 - Maneki Neko (Japan)
06 - Elephant Statue (South Africa)
07 - Afro Comb (South Africa)
08 - Compass (Argentina)
09 - Sextant (UK)
10 - Yucca Plant (Mexico)
11 - Fire Hydrant (Canada)
12 - Model Space Ship (UK)
13 - Ship in a Bottle (UK)
14 - Paper Weight (UK)
15 - Tailors Dummy (UK)
16 - Sumo Doll (Japan)
17 - Chopsticks (Japan)
18 - Dart Board (UK)
19 - Crazy Straw (Mexico)
20 - Sensu (Japan)
21 - Yakitori Lantern (Japan)
22 - Snowboard (Switzerland)
23 - Steel Drum (Caymans)
24 - Nodding Turtle (Caymans)
If the last 2 digits of your ID is 25 or more, keep subtracting 25 from it until you get a number less than 25
If you can't do the math for whatever reason, you can have a look at Andyman's easy reference table
Shoutout to accountnot4sale [1921241] for helping to fill the blanks!
Also a huge thanks for everyone who contributed and helped confirm my findings :)
Please don't mind some of the replies on the first 3 pages complaining it doesn't work as the guide wasn't completed thenLast edited by CreatorX on 08:36:27 - 01/10/25 (1 year ago)

Posted on 23:34:03 - 27/05/20 (6 years ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkMy ID ends in 9. After the merit was released I have flown once to Japan and three times to Mexico - no merit so far. Will take my next flight to Caymans to try and buy the Nodding Turtle. Will report back.
EDIT: Guys, stop quoting this post and/or mailing me that my ID ends in 39. I KNOW. This was posted right after this thread was created and then it was still not known how it exactly works. At that point it was only speculation and only regarding the last number of the ID. I know that my ID ends in 39 and my number is 14 - I have already got the merit from UK with the paper weight. Thanks! :)Last edited by Tao on 17:42:17 - 29/05/20 (6 years ago) -

Update: I finally found a maneki neko on my fourth trip to Japn and it triggered the merit. Once more, thanks all.Last edited by Rebel_Virginia on 04:31:51 - 31/05/20 (6 years ago)

Posted on 23:47:15 - 27/05/20 (6 years ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkInteresting...might have to do with double digits then. The ones that got it with the statue so far had their IDs ending either with 50 or 00, but yours ends with 80. Let me know if you figure out your trigger so I can update my findings. Thanks!
