I just earned the loan shark honor. So i would like to share how to earn the merit. All you have to do is borrow 500,000 and pay the weekly interest when it tells u to.

I did not how long i paid but it seems to me like it took about 2 to 3 months.

I am not sure whether networth places a role on this. Anyhow just pay the weekly interest and do not pay the principal. Just keep doing it until u earn the honor.

Any other input from you guys will be nice. ^^

I am struggling to get this award...but I have been really stingy in the amount I feel like paying every week...so haven't maxed my loan.

BUT....I did spend quite a bit of effort waiting and stalking the item market for cars sold at 93-95% of docks price to drive up my 'old' net worth.

SO...If you could post your max loan I would really appreciate it...and by chance, post your starting max loan?

The way I got it:

Take the max loan Duke offers.
Pay the dues in time.
After every 3 week or so, the max amount increases. Get the extra loan as you can.
Repeat steps 1,2, and 3 until you get the merit.
Took me about 5 months (approx).

Makes me glad I spent the points to increase the loan and get the meri before the change. Seems cheaper and easier the old way then paying interest (over 2m a week for my max loan) for 5 months.

Been paying my weekly fee for a month and a half.

625m debt.

No honour yet but hoping to get it soon.

It takes around 12 weeks, easier to get it if your starting loan is (max) is less than 100m

I guess it's random as different player gets different result.

For me, I loan up to my max and just pay the interest for 10 weeks to get the merit, I didn't increase my loan even though my max was increasing everytime I paid the interest which was $187.500 per week, so the merit worth $1.875.000,- for me.

Just be persistent I guess.. Best of Luck.. [:wink:]

this, "my max was increasing everytime I paid the interest", is a vital piece of information the OP should include in the guide / tutorial. Your credit score does not necessarily increase on say taking out 500k.

What you have to do for this merit is take out an X amount which requires you to pay an X amount of fees, if paying your fees makes the maximum amount of money you can loan go up then you're doing it right, if not, then you're doing it wrong.

So it all is dependant on each player their 'old' networth. for example, the minimum amount of money I have to take out to make sure my fees increase at this point is ~150m, which is a real ball ache because the fees are fairly high, and I still don't have that merit.. Jokes on me I guess! [:tongue:]

I got mine pretty quick.

I didn't really know what I was doing.

I borrowed 40m and paid back whenever it requested.
After 3-4 weeks, I got the honour.
I noticed it shot up to 45m or so too.

My limit is 190m now, so I just assume once he starts increasing your max loan, you've achieved a good credit rating with him.

take max loan
pay back interest every week

takes ~11 weeks

I started loaning money from the loan shark from about day 20 of my account.
now I'm at day 123 and I still don't see the loan shark merit.
my loan is maxed at 1illion and I'm always paying the interests.

Do you need to max out the loan every time? I only took a small loan and been paying the charges
