I may need to stay away from the Bookie if I ever want to be able to afford these methods, but baby steps ...

This is aimed at players who are relatively middle-class and trying to get ahead in terms of Battle Stats. You're flying or trading to make money and so are reliably able to pop 3 Xanax a day, use your Energy refill, and stay rehabbed ... all while building your bank a bit at a time. So let's say you eventually get a steady weekly income, or get to $2BN or more liquid, and want to up your training regimen while spending your money as wisely as possible. You think you know that Cans and then FHCs are the next steps right? What should you do first?

So this really compares 1) cost effectiveness of different types of Cans, and 2) MCS BB payouts over longer periods of time. And it's pretty clear: if you have a substantial bank already or are able to guarantee yourself the extra $100M+ weekly income needed to afford it, then adding 12 cans per day will give a huge (25%+) boost to your training compared to Xanax and refill alone. But that's already known and proven ... what I wanted to know was whether MCS was "worth it" and if/when I should try to buy it, instead of buying more expensive cans or FHCs.

Conclusion: if you are planning on sticking around for a while (> a year or so), save up and buy MCS ASAP so that the Energy per cost goes down as far as possible. You can get more total E out of that extra $1.3BN by buying MCS than any other way, at least currently.

    --

This does not take gym progression into account, but I figure if you're making enough to afford 12 Cans per day anyway, you'll only need to save for a couple months to afford MCS, then you can get back to your Can training. An argument could be made that spending money on getting to George's as fast as possible is better, but I don't even know how to run those numbers.

This does not take into account working in a Restaurant or any other way to drink more than 12 Cans per day. The total E gained per cost is still the same over the long-term and favors MCS.

Also remember, this is assuming a relatively thrifty player and a long-term goal. Torn is a long-term game, but who knows if something else will be introduced or changed in the next year+ that makes you wish you had just bought 1000 Cans of Munster instead.

Finally, I suppose this could also be aimed at non-druggies too. But eew...

Thank you! But unfortunately in my experience having babies decreases energy, instead of adding it. Doesn't fit my playstyle! :D

    nice :O

Also another reason why to get mcs asap:

It's an always raising in price bb. I bought mine at 900m now it's at 1.35b that's some massive difference right there!

MCS isn't a cost, it's an investment. Theoretically, you can sell it and get your money back at anytime. You shouldn't look at it as an expense or measure cost-effectiveness.

If I use a can or an FHC, that's cash I will never get back, but if I'm ever low on money I can sell my MCS. And like Harley pointed out, usually for a profit too... Change: ^ $565.178 (282.606 %)

One other consideration is that mcs pays out at random times - if you wake up to 305 E, you've lost that natural E growth overnight whereas cans and FHC you can take whenever it is most convenient to your training regime.

I think this is a great idea. Rates +. Did you do a similair comparison between the cost effectiveness as of owning FHG vs MCS? I know when I was saving my money for stock I did this. FHC is by far the best stock you can get with a tradable item but is at good if you plan to use them for yourself. I'm still saving for FHC but I own MCS.

Yes. If you value Energy at about the average Can price, then MCS "pays for itself" in 60-70 weeks, as opposed to 57 for FHG (and 55 for SYM or LSC). Beerstein just did a really good comparison of all the BB returns here, but left of MCS because it doesn't provide direct monetary or investment return.

Comparing the two directly if you're USING the FHCs, then
    FHG: $710,000,000 for 150 E per week
    MCS: $1,300,000,000 for 300 E per week

MCS gives better E per cost, but only slightly.

Wow I did that comparison 6 months ago and MCS was hands down better but MCS was only a billion and FHG was closer to 800+ million.

My first goal when starting the game was getting a PI, next goal was to afford daily stacking, and my third goal was to get MCS. So much so that I sold almost everything to get mcs.

My reasoning was I thought MCS was a must for training and I would rather have it sooner than later.

probably off topic but it makes me wonder

do mcs energy stack?, if someone with mcs went inactive for sometime and decided to come back, is there a chance that they will come back with 1000 energy?

117.5 weeks of MCS payouts is equal to 3.3 billion worth of FHC's.

Or for 3.3 billion you can buy 825 energy cans with 30 energy. So MCS pays out 825 * 30 energy in 82.5 weeks.

    MCS stacks itself.

    Sure buddy here you go.
MCS cost is based on the lost income from tying the money up, assuming 1% return per week.
FHG, SYM, and bank all give more than 1% per week, and any active way of making money with money gives more if you're good at it (I'm not).
