    AVOID THIS SCENARIO:

There are many questions about what crimes to do and how to build your nerve bars. This guide is my personal opinions on how to get all of the crime honors, build your nerve bar, and build your crime experience above 45 nerve bar for faction Organized crimes.

DISCLAIMER: This guide is NOT meant for brand new players. If you just joined stick to the 2 or 3 nerve crimes ONLY and slowly work your way up to shoplifting. The intended audience for this guide are experienced players who have enough experience to do all of the crimes listed and are in need of a guide to know which are safe vs which will jail you.

Question #1: How do I make money from crimes?
Answer: You don't! Crimes that make money like hacking have very high failure rates and you will never increase your nerve bar. If that's your play style great, but this guide isn't for you.

Question #2: What is a "Safe" crime?
Answer: Crimes have 3 possible outcomes Green (Success), Blue (Fail with no penalty), or Red (Fail with Jail or Hospital penalty). Safe crimes either have no reds or result in hospital reds. Crimes with red results that give jail time are NOT safe and will lower you nerve bar.

Question #3: Which crimes are safe?
Answer: Let me break it down with a list of crimes I recommend you do. (Highlighted Safe Crimes in Green, Hosp result Crimes in Orange, and Jail result crimes in Red)

(Some of these crimes may produce reds for very new players, but once you hit a level crime experience level your results should match this guide)

    Crimes:
2 Nerve: Search for Cash - All crimes are safe
3 Nerve: Sell Copied Media - All crimes are safe
4 Nerve: Shoplift -> Clothing Store -> Jackets (100% Greens)
    5 Nerve: Pickpocket ** Don't do these Crimes **
    6 Nerve: Larceny ** Don't do these Crimes **
7 Nerve: Armed Robberies ** Don't do these Crimes **
8 Nerve: Transport Drugs - All crimes give jail result (High Risk), but only Drug Deal crimes
9 Nerve: Plant a Computer Virus -> Stealth Virus (Never gives a Red result)
10 Nerve: Assassination -> Assassinate a Target (No Reds, but LOTS of blues), Assassination -> Mob Boss (Hospital Reds = Preferred)
11 Nerve: Arson -> Warehouse Arson (Hospital Reds)
12 Nerve: Grand Theft Auto -> Steal a Parked Car (Never gives a Red result)
13 Nerve: Pawn Shop ** HIGH RISK: Don't do these Crimes **
14 Nerve: Counterfeiting ** HIGH RISK: Don't do these Crimes **
15 Nerve: Kidnapping ** HIGH RISK: Don't do these Crimes **
Note: 15 Nerve Kidnap Mayor gives Jail Reds, but has been called the safest of the high nerve crimes (See Mud's comment below)

16 Nerve: Arms Trafficking ** HIGH RISK: Don't do these Crimes **
17 Nerve: Bombings ** HIGH RISK: Don't do these Crimes **
18 Nerve: Hacking ** HIGH RISK: Don't do these Crimes **

Question #4: Why should I skip the 5, 6, and 7 nerve crimes?
Answer: Those crimes are the same type as other crimes below them so they aren't efficient ways to work on the Honors/Medals.
NOTE: 7 nerve Through Robbery and Pickpocket crimes have long been advised to new players for years as good crime experience builders, but long terms it's better to avoid them because you finish the theft medals faster doing Jackets.

Question #5: What crimes give what types Honors/Medals?
Answer: Let me break each crime down by type which will explain why I recommended skipping certain crimes earlier (Highlighted Safe crimes)

2 Nerve: Other Crimes - Search for Cash
3 Nerve: Selling Illegal Products - Sell Copied Media
    4 Nerve: Theft - Shoplift
    5 Nerve: Theft - Pickpocket
    6 Nerve: Theft - Larceny
7 Nerve: Theft - Armed Robberies
8 Nerve: Drug Deals - Transport Drugs (Only way to get this honor, but will hurt your CE)
9 Nerve: Computer Crimes - Plant a Computer Virus
    10 Nerve: Murder - Assassination
    11 Nerve: Fraud - Arson
12 Nerve: Auto Theft - Grand Theft Auto
13 Nerve: Fraud - Pawn Shop
    14 Nerve: Fraud - Counterfeiting
    15 Nerve: Theft - Kidnapping
16 Nerve: Fraud - Arms Trafficking
    17 Nerve: Fraud - Bombings
18 Nerve: Computer Crimes - Hacking

Question #6: What Honors/Medals can I get from each crime type?
Answer: Here is a list of Honors/Medals by type

    http://www.torn.com/wiki/Awards#Crimes for full list

    Other Crimes
    - Honor at 5000
    - No Medals

    Sell Copied Media Crimes
    - Honor at 5000
    - No Medals

    Theft Crimes
    - 5 Honors at 1k, 2.5k, 5k, 7.5k and 10k
    - 11 Medals - Last one at 25k

    Drug Deal Crimes
    - Honor at 5000
    - 8 Medals - Last one at 10k

    Computer Crimes
    - 2 Honors at 2k and 5k
    - 16 Medals - Last one at 10k

    Murder Crimes
    - Honor at 5000
    - 11 Medals - Last one at 10k

    Fraud Crimes
    - Honor at 5000
    - 16 Medals - Last one at 10k

    Auto Theft Crimes
    - Honor at 5000
    - 21 Medals - Last one at 10k

Conclusion: Sticking to safe crimes and sticking to the lowest nerve crime of each type give 3 major benefits: Build your nerve bar faster, builds your crime experience for faction Organized Crimes, and gets you the Honors and Medals the faster. There are many better ways to make money, but only one way to gain crime experience!

You could differentiate safe-crime-honors/medals from dangerous ones, to help the reader a bit more. Perhaps a change in font colors would be suffice. Green in safe ones and red in dangerous ones.

    Thank you sir!

    1. You and your buddies begin digging using nothing but the posts from your bed.2. After 10 minutes the holes already at least two feet deep. You should be out of here in no time!3. You begin climbing down the hole with your buddies.Result

    Added colors in both sections.

Battlewar - nothing but 2 nerve crimes work for new players. This guide isn't meant for a brand new player. This is written for people above level 15 who need to focus on their CE

Fair enough - I still recommend you stick it out on Jacket longer because Merit wise it's a waste of 3 nerve.

I clarified that section a bit to let with a NOTE on it.

Kidnap Mayor (15 nerve) red result is you loose $75K (or jail if you don't have $75K on you), and gives decent cash (up to $100K). Is this considered safe? I got this result once, maybe out of 75-100 attempts.

I have heard good things about Kidnap Mayor, but to be honest I never tried anything above 13 after failing some pawn shops and being told those will wreck your nerve.

I will add a note on that one - Thanks for the feedback

Noobie here...have been shoplifting jackets with all green results. All of a sudden, nothing but blue results. Always do crimes with full energy so happy is at max. Not sure what's happened.

EDIT: Holding at level 3 since I got mugged a few times since level 4 didn't seem to open any doors
