Ways to Protect Cash

Thread created on 08:50:43 - 27/12/14 (11 years ago)|Last replied 18:27:44 - 17/02/26 (8 months ago)Most people face problems protecting their cash in the game now after mugging rates have been upped. Most people know a method or so but hey, sometimes it doesn't work. You need to know other ways.
Here is a list.- Company Bank (100% Safe but company can be hacked for 0-3% (chance low), protection from hacking from SYS Stock Block)
- Faction Bank (100% Safe but faction respect can be zeroed and cash lost, rare probability)
- Points (Points are almost safe, there is little variation over a day, but not a long term option)
- Donator Packs (DPs are almost safe, there is little variation over a day, but not a long term option)
- Stocks (A safe investment offering returns if you have a benefit, stock prices can crash but will come up at some time so it is a good option when the prices of a stock are already low)
- City Bank (Safest option, gives interest as well however cash cannot be touched till investment duration is over)
- Cayman Islands (Super Safe option, you also get 0.5% Interest every month on the lowest amount of cash that has been in your account for the whole month)
- Ghost Trades (Cash can be kept in ghost trades, good option for traders and gamblers however trade expires in 6 hours and may be cancelled by the partner if he is not trustworthy)
- Ghost Races and Roulette Games (Set up a RR game or a race with the amount you need to keep safe AND a password and no one but you can touch it. Do not tell the password to anyone and this is short term as the races and games expire in 15 minutes)
- Ghost Poker Table (You can keep your cash on a poker table and even add a password to it. The poker table will stay on for as long as you're online but it may expire later, not sure of the timing, but it wont expire till you are online)
- Property Vault (Property Vaults are super safe as well, however only upto 500m can be stored)
- Investing in Collectibles (For you super rich asses, investing in collectibles is a good option. Collectibles only rise in price over time and won't fall however it is not easy to cash them super fast when required)
- Properties (One can buy properties from the market. Properties are a super safe investment with low risk as long as you don't buy it for the estate price but the market price. A 3750 Happy PI will always sell for 850m-875m min
These are some ways that I know. Do post here if you have some other suggestions.
I hope this helps.Last edited by YNMK on 04:37:53 - 08/04/15 (11 years ago) -

Stocks are nice, I just buy random (more or less) stocks and sell them so I always have Cashier's checks available. The Auction House is good also, if you're overbid or win and bid too much you get a Cashier's check. Just don't bid too much on worthless crap.

Posted on 10:55:20 - 27/12/14 (11 years ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkstocks are horrible actually since if your a new player you can lose money on them if you dont know what your doing and you dont have instant access your money. auction house your money is tied up till your over bid and sometimes that might take a while. the op has covered most of the ways to protect your money and have access to it

I have just listed all, they are just ways for someone who doesn't have enough ideas. -

I like using the Stock Exchange, I don't like using ghost trades et cetera. I think the risk of losing money is manageable if you spread out your money on several different stocks.

Posted on 19:36:51 - 27/12/14 (11 years ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkI'd rather not see this "guide" listing features which are being exploited to hide cash as if they are officially sanctioned means of doing so to be honest (which is how newer players might view information they see in this forum).

Posted on 20:07:20 - 27/12/14 (11 years ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkwhy not, if people on constantly "exploiting" the game in that manor, why shouldnt new plays be aware of it. If the staff cared about people doing it, they would ban/punish you for doing so, which they totally can it is really obvious if your doing most of the cheap ones. They dont. Hiding information from noobs just so they can get robbed and rage quit? Id rather a level playing field - either allow it, or punish people for doing it, dont allow something and then hide it from new players.

Posted on 21:51:42 - 27/12/14 (11 years ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkHow very short-sighted of you - if newer players do start exploiting certain features en-masse to hide cash because they see info on doing so in what appears to be a semi-official "guide" then those features will be seen as more of a problem, devs will come up with a "solution" and legitimate users of those features will more than likely get screwed over in the process.

Posted on 22:43:25 - 27/12/14 (11 years ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkIt's not exploiting anything, and even if it is there have been tons of threads made (including this one) that have brought attention to it, so until the devs decide to do something, i'd say it's fair game.
Edit - You can place bets on bookie and store cash in that and then cancel like 1 min before bookie ends...just remember to actually cancel or else you may win or lose a lot. Limit 1b per bet.Last edited by DeathPulse on 22:44:17 - 27/12/14 (11 years ago)

Posted on 00:08:19 - 28/12/14 (11 years ago)Post link copied to clipboard Copy post linkCompany bank: 90 days of un-planned inactivity and you're screwed (Although you might think at first that this will never happen). My personal experience was over 1.6b cash gone along with the company.
Also I agree with Butters, many of those are kind of exploits. I don't think it's a good guide idea.
Why many people's concept about a guide have changed into force feeding newbies with things weren't meant to be how they are. This does ruin the game for them and everyone although most won't notice it.
And for god's sake stop with the "until they do something about something it's a fair game" mind set. How would you feel about scripts and bots exploiting other areas? Or maybe multies? No they can't do anything about many things in the game because it would become very limiting and unpleasant experience for those who are playing fair.
Some RPG games went with banning all direct trading between people in the past, because multies were a huge issue for them. And they are in here but so far the amount of players in this game is controllable.
Take the "Ghost trading" for example, many people playing fair want the limit to be more than 6 hours and it makes sense due to time zones. However, exploiting that makes the devs wanting to make it maybe 1 hour instead of the current 6 hours.
In short, yes it IS exploiting.--- Signatures are turned off --- -

This is exactly what I was referring to above for the record - exploiting features for something other than their intended purpose, leading to said features being changed to address the exploitation (in this case possibly having the ability to change or cancel bets removed again).I like apples doo doo doo...
