Chats are buggy and complicated enough, its a good idea, as chat boxes are heavily used. I cant see ched wanting to input this, when he already has IRC for players to use, where your suggested feature is possible. the people that wont join IRC, are just lazy BLEEPS :P

Ched has commented several times that he thinks IRC is dying...
He's just released chat boxes for different destinations, as well as hospital and jail.

This is a little bit more complicated to create, but I think it would make chat a really useful tool.
I am thinking about this in terms of faction management where you can have a separate chat to talk about faction related matters that don't need to be posted in the normal Faction chat...

i understand, what you're saying. I think personally, that chat boxes, need to be made more reliable first, as they are still a constant pain in the back side, for many players. and yeah i agree on the fact, that IRC i dying, is only used mostly these days, for the lotto/giveaway rooms, But this could due to the dramatic decrease in daily/weekly players, since RESPO release. I would however use the feature, your suggesting, if it was implemented. i just cant see ched, adding this anytime soon, with so much stuff, still in the pipeline to be released/launched. i still stand by what i said above though, about chat boxes needing to be made more stable, having to clear out your browsers all the time, and/or logging out and back in again, is a big pain. once thats fixed and things are "stable" i would says sure, go ahead an implement this.

Strangely I was thinking about suggesting this same thing yesterday but never got around to it. In Calc we dont use IRC, and the current in game chat system is too limited as far as no logging on messages and no ability to create custom groups. Because of this we have been progressively moving to Skype as it works both on PC and Mobile.

So bottom line is this idea is really good, and will help to keep people playing the game and chatting on the same screen, rather than them having to split focus.

skype doesn't work very well on mobile, as far as group chats go.

This already existed in the old chat system so people saying it's not possible or practical can think again there. Would be nice to have it brought back into the newer chats. +

actually they have already experimented with got working group chats, then respo started up and it got sidelined.


and IRC is an outdated system badly in need ofa complete overhaul or removal
