$30 mil is still relatively cheap, remember the days they hit $250 mil? now that was brown trousers time

Remember the days when they were 7m? Yeah, I do

I do indeed, it was around abouts the time I first registered, sure at one point (far back in the early days long before me anyway) I think they were selling for 250k

I remember buying them for 5-7 mil in 2008, and reselling them for 200-250 mil. Oh, am I glad I did, because I was able to afford unique properties! :)

If I go back in time even further (Q2 2006), I remember buying a DP for 1.2 or 1.25 mil, converting it for 50 points, selling the points for 1.1 mil total, GTAing for 2 BMW Z8 or Chargers, and repeat again and again... I got an awful lot of donator days out of it! :D

Why would you buy DPs for 1.2M, get the points and sell the points for 1.1M, losing 100K per transaction?

Probably because you also got 30 days DP status for the cheap cheap price of 100k in the deal?

Its too bazzar. I sold some not long ago for 25.5 and thought that was a good deal.

I have noticed though points have stayed the same.

    Weird.

Let me get some shit clear.
NO, people did not stop buying donator packs. The number did not significantly fell that it has caused the market to rise by 7m+/-
    Someone's just handling the market.
All you need is a few billion dollars and you can make a hell of profit by slowly selling it.

Didn't read the thread, but here's my thoughts anyhow.  Sorry if it's been pointed out already.

Less people playing on a consistent basis translates into less DPs being bought.  DPs are player generated items and cannot be found in the city or created by the game through  means other than being purchased outside and brought into the game.  Less of an item means it will rise in value at least for some time.  Sure, some people might be hoarding them, but what's the point really.  It's not going to appreciate like it did when DPs went untradeable for a stint ...if you are waiting for that windfall, you're prolly not gonna see it again.

    It's not rocket science.

Clearly it is since if lees people playing=less dps being bought it also ='s less demand cause again...less players. It's just panic buying, the circulation numbers speak for themselves DPs aren't going to suddenly disappear.

Then look at hotel coupons.  Big difference being that FHCs are generated in game and the game controls how many get handed out, so the supply part hasn't changed (one would think).  Just the fact that less people are buying them creates the opposite effect and they have reduced in value because of essentially the same reason DPs have increased in value... less people playing, in the case of hotel coupons, actually creates a buyers market over a sellers.

Either that or people are horsing the market :P

FHCs keep increasing because people keep buying more blocks but most still feel it's worth selling over using them thus flooding the market and lowering the value. Also FHCs not being able to help stack energy probably plays a part. Beyond that warring has been stale and the gym change has made it easier to get to the transition point of FHCs to stat enhancers. There's so many legit reasons FHCs are dropping, the same can't be said for Donor packs.

Not being able to stack and the gyms are far from new, though.  Why would it take so long to impact it?  Maybe lack of warring has something to do with it, but really, don't you think that the majority of the people using hotel coupons to war are probably using them to train as well?  Even if not all, surely enough to absorb enough to keep the item from dropping 15-20% since RESPO.  Which is about what DPs have varied (gone up), no?

FHC's have been constantly dropping in value since the booster cool down.

It's not taking "long to impact" it's just having a long term impact, the changes started right off also kyle is right the cooldown was the biggest one, not sure how I missed that.

Also the people using FHCs to train have always been less than the people that use them to war, source: wars.

Anyways DP prices will never be too high since after a point everyone that can afford them will use them, and beyond that they wont need more, as that happens price drops. Current price is more massively artificial IMO especially cause people wil RL money will take advantage of these prices as a way to "get rich quick" in game.

Also the introduction of cans through companies meant lots in circulation making them a cheap alternative (also more cost efficient) to FHC with the added benefit to be able to stack, and use much quicker.

Another impact is the amount of money the average player has is decreasing due to the extra rehab costs and such.

It's all supply and demand. Beerstein has covered most of the relevant points.
