Ched I'll be honest here, I work fixing software and make a damn good living doing it too and I can assure you if something wasn't working right and I knew about it but my response was "make a bug report and then I'll fix it" I would be sacked in a day. As I said some things are blatant, it's not just me having the problem Ched, if the forums are working with zero problems for you then congratulation because I can guarantee they aren't working with zero problems for everyone else

This is hilarious. Are you being purposefully obtuse?

Are you trying to play some sort of cryptic game, 'look how clever I am and how much money I make, I can see bugs that you can't even dream of' haha.... i'm sure if in your 'hot shot job' you went to the boss and said, 'there are 10 issues with the software but I'm not going to tell you', they would give you a pay rise and promote you xD

The forums are working 100% perfectly for me, no bugs as I can see. I have come across one bug so far, and I have posted it in the 'Bugs and issues' forum as is the correct way to deal with it, it wasn't related to the forums though.

No I wouldn't go to my bosses and say I found bugs, I'd just fix them and keep a record of the fix on the same massive database that most companies have when they are having bugs fixed. I'm not trying to be cryptic at all. The forum problems are obvious. Half the time you can't post images, half the time you can't paste text because you get that box that pops up saying you have to press Ctrl + v even though HAVE pressed Ctrl + v, currently I can't format text, if I try to make this text Bold by highlighting it and pressing the big B button on the new toolbar the text doesn't change and the cursor just disappears altogether, EVERYONE is having the same problem with the reply box not showing half the time and all these things have already been reported and still haven't been fixed. You assume I am being obtuse to piss Ched off but if you took a quick look at my post history I think you'll find that I never complain about updates and, 3 year forum ban and all, still defend Ched and his staff if I think someone is unfairly ragging on them but in this case the forum issues are blatant and seem to be getting ignored. Saying "Well it works fine for me, file a bug report with screenshots" is pretty much just a cop out because I don't believe for a minute that the forums are working 100% for anyone.

Fair enough, thats for clarifying. If bug reports have been made in a decent manner that they can replicate or at least find them in the code, I would hope that it will be sorted. If they don't get sorted by the time Ched has announced all the bugs have been fixed then I would be understandably pissed as well.

I don't fix forum related issues, the developer who works on the forums does. When he sees your bug report, he fixes it. If you work in the software industry I'm sure you know how important it is to have structure, especially when it comes to bug reporting.

RESPO is growing on me. At first I wasn't too sure about it, but I like it the more I use it.

I also think that in the long run it will turn out to be much better as staff adds features and gets the bugs worked out. While overall Torn is a text-based game, it has become pretty complex over the years and it will take a while to get it right. I'm sure Torn's staff isn't as large as some of the other big gaming companies.

The poll results aren't for you, they're for us.

How is an "it totally sucks" option going to be any use for us? It's not like we're going to totally revert the site and then stop making future updates. If you think it "totally sucks" why not elaborate with a constructive post so I actually know what to do in order to make it better for you?

One other thing that would be really good is a way to turn off the chat system like how it was not on the old mobile torn.

Maybe you could put a setting where we could decide whether to have it on or off when in mobile mode.

All of the ways you can block it on desktop mode do not work on mobile devices.

What does not kill you pisses me off

    This!

Some people may say I have a messed up sense of priorities, but this is my #1 "pain point" with RESPO. My #2 would likely be not having a tutorial for the new Tiny MCE features used in forums. For the rest, I seem to always find a solution somehow.

    Ched;

There are innumerable instances of a "click to confirm" so the site can show us another line of w/e you think we should see next.  Just reduce the unnecessary clicks for us and carry on.  I don't need to click 3 times to travel etc etc.

Its getting better although I personally did prefer the older sidebar.  But hey.  Reduce the clicks and lets move on.

    Dan

Sure, well we learned from the past because before RESPO people were complaining that there were not enough confirmation requests. If someone can write us a list / document of every case with screenshots which don't require confirmation - I can just hand it to a developer and they'll all be fixed in a day.

All my report in PC contained a screenshot and most of them were fixed, thx for that. But what i expect from a game is that all bugs r fixed, not 95% of them. And for that all bugs should be considered as a coding error or lack of code. But for some bug reports i made, the answer i got was "refresh the page, clear cache, try in a different browser".

No customer (i consider each subcriber and all ones buying DP a customer) wants to hear that. If there is a bug with a browser, then it's a bug. Player may or may not give more information on that depending on his/her knowledge and time/mind. It's the developers' job to test in the first place. If he does not have time to test all, then at least he has to look it up by installing that browser and trying the bug in it. I'm sure developers are given one or more android devices, iPads, Mac etc. (or i hope that part)

But some of our problems do not even go to them, they r closed because of lack of information; which is "not trying if the bug happens in another browser" or something similar. For me, this is unacceptable.

I understand that there r a lot of reports, and appreciate the help with staff; they really read and mark them fast. But, imo, all reports should be investigated regardless of players giving extra info. If there is extra info, it's better to give it a priority as it'll probably take less time to solve the issue with more info given. But u cannot expect to get a large info each time and not getting no info should not cause the report to be closed, the bug is there, come on! You may only postpone it.

I am personally waiting to for the missions to come out. I would like to see more then the few we had before. That is the kind of stuff I like to do, and Trying to kick my husbands ass as well I am almost ready to challenge him. Before I didn't really like torn it was to basic and simple with only one real thing you could do which was build stats and war in an attack system that was to simplified and unbalanced. Like the choice of weapons really didn't make much of a difference. Can't wait to see what is coming.

But if he fixes them then why do they still exist when they have been reported multiple times? why is it that even doing something simple like adding a emoticon to this post will force it to the start of my post and then I'll have to move it to the end of the sentence but then when the post is published it will end up in the middle of the page like this

Staff ask you to try another browser to determine whether the issue is browser related. They're not ignoring the problem and telling you to just use a different one.

If people produce bug reports with insignificant information, the developers cannot fix it. Very often, the issue is only related to that single user, so we can either leave it open forever (always unfixable) or close them, if the user fails to provide more information.

One thing I think can be improved is the stock page. Currently to see if a stock is worth investing I have to go to city > stocks > dropdown bar per stock > graph >change the timescale up to 1 year 6 months.

The amount of clicking to check say 5-10 stocks is a bit of a pain. Is there anyway to have a default graph instead of repeating the logo here.

Okay here is my problem, not much information needed to correct this! I have a very difficult time searching for items in the city, simply put, I cannot see very well at all! the dark items are nearly impossible to see.

I would like to suggest that the old way of finding items be incorporated back in and/or you make the items larger and more obvious.

    Chedburn [1]

The poll results aren't for you, they're for us.

How is an "it totally sucks" option going to be any use for us? It's not like we're going to totally revert the site and then stop making future updates. If you think it "totally sucks" why not elaborate with a constructive post so I actually know what to do in order to make it better for you?

Yes,  so correct.  The poster did not even know how to make a correct poll,  why would we assume that he knows how to play the game?

As much as I like the overall feeling of the update (even though it appears to be mainly interface so far), we all know this was rushed without proper testing. This is where a dedicated knowledgeable software test developer would be handy. Never before have I seen something being released and shortly thereafter received over 100+ confirmed bugs and countless other bugs that the developers/ staff feel like it's not a bug or it's a feature.

The sad part is, a lot of those bugs would easily have been caught and should have with proper testing. I do understand there is a small team working on this, but there is options to hire test developer/quality assurance for contracts until the project was satisfactory. It would also not hurt to get the opinion of a UX person as developers generally do not have as clear perception of what the end user needs/wants.

Like a lot of people we go through bugs after bugs everyday and it totally sucks to get something that was far from being even a release candidate. It was incomplete and the poll was very biased, I guess it would be very embarrassing if a large portion voted "totally sucks" or any other negativity.

    Rant closed.
