Brunnex sat down upon the bed. I will stay... for now. If his condition does not let up I may consider the option of leaving. Until aid time comes I shall be here. He told the priest making his decision here. Brunnex didnt really need to eat or drink for a while. It helped but it wasnt needed for a while...

*The high priest shrugged. *

If that is what you wish. I will be in occasionally. I expect it will at least be a few days. The prophet has great wisdom to impart, and your friend has much to learn.

of course. I will dine with you, please, on moment. *And with that, the high priest disappeared. He returned a few moments later bearing a tray, which he set on the floor beside the bed. He then sat down on the ground beside it, and invite Brunnex to do the same. The tray bore three plates. One large central one contained a good pile of heavily spiced goat meat and cheese, served hot. Another plate had thin, circular sheets of bread, also spiced. The final plate had thin wedges of a cooling yellow melon. A glass pitcher of a yellowish wine, and two clay cups also sat on the tray. The high priest filled both cups, took a sheet of the bread, and tore pieces off it, using these pieces to pick up bits of meat and cheese which he then popped into his mouth. *

It would be understandable if you have questions, please, ask then.

Brunnex sat upon the floor as directed and started to eat. They couldve poisoned him even though the priest ate with him by marking poisoned foods or whatever but Brunnex never truly ate food. By haven a very painful rune tattooed into his tongue he absorbed said food while it was still in his mouth, turned it into the key components needed and added it to the blood separating harmful components as he did so. There were several poisons that Brunnex suspected could beat the process but he had not eaten in a month and the very pleasures of eating, taste, was highly addictive and it was hard to go long without eating even if he had stored lots of the right components to last him a while.

Brunnex ate conservatively. The food was good and he liked to savour the taste. He thought between mouthfuls of any burning questions in his mind.

Hmm, Brunnex said pouring himself some of that wine (which, even though the priest had not tried any yet, he planned on swallowing) I do have a question. He sniffed the wine before taking a small sip. He slurred it around his mouth before swallowing. Not bad. Youre saying something like a piece of Stranges soul has entered his mind and is, what, imparting the mysteries of the universe in him?

Hmm, Brunnex thought, if thats what happens for a little bit of blood in you what would that little bit of bone do.

The prophet is changing him. How or why, that is not ours to know. Not yet. Some have whispered that your friend will be the next prophet, and that the prophet is educating him. Frankly, we will have to wait and see. *The high priest ended with a shrug, and drained his glass of wine. *

I hope the prophet knows what he is doing. Then again its not forced so I cant really be unhappy. Tourivil would want this. Brunnex mused abandoning his hatred of the situation.

What do you call this settlement, anyway? Brunnex asked realising he had only ever known it as the desertmens city.

Faolin stopped; "In which direction exactly? I've never been there myself nor do I know where the physical portal is on our side." Faolin barely seemed to notice that he had a 17 year old on his shoulder, perhaps it was because he was so strong...

You have already been in a great deal of trouble. Brunnex answered sitting back appearing to be finished. More is yet to come. With good nes comes bad news and if Tourivil becomes the next of your prophets something just as bad as this is good is likely to happen. Brunnex imparted his own little bit of wisdom before leaning forward and beginning to eat again.

Faolin and Shilor walked for three hours none-stop, at a rather quick pace to add to that but both men were in top shape and didn't seem to mind at all about carrying the 'children' on their shoulders.

Faolin stopped suddenly, they had entered a small forest not too long ago and were now in a tiny clearing just big enough for a campsite; "We'll rest here for the rest of today." He gently placed Fen down, making sure to place his head on some fresh grass.

He sat next to the youth and looked up at the tall Ferrock; "Sit, I have some questions to ask of you. If you would hear them, that is."

John retracted his hand from Toun, who obviously didn't want any of his magic. He created a purple smoke dagger, and began flipping it in his hand. He wanted to go dragon hunting.

Shilor picked his charge up and dropped him next to Fen. Shang landed on the ground his eyes fluttered for a moment and then he started snoring. Shilor sighed. Clearly draining energy from the water to stay up all night had left him more drained than staying up all night would have anyway.

He lay by Faolin and looked up at the stars with those odd eyes. Ask but know this; I may lie or refuse to answer. Such is the way I am.

Faolin nodded; "Fair enough, this is just a friendly chat after all."

He smirked as Fen grumbled something about a goat and rolled onto his side, he looked at Shilor again; "Why didn't you help Fen? You seem semi-capable at the least, yet you stood there as 'Auron' pounded him into the ground." Faolin didn't seem angry, or annoyed, nor anything really. His voice was totally calm, once again the air around him seemed to become gentler.

---

---

Er're sighed and picked Rend up; "I'll take him to a room in the palace, he'll wake up in time.."

"Be at the palace tomorrow if you plan to come on the hunt John, we'll be leaving early." Er're lifted the giant Ork up with ease and simply slung him over his shoulders. He walked towards the palace.

*Erda roared as he flew above, then angled downwards and landed the the courtyard of the palace where he was met by the king and a few guards. They spoke briefly and agreed that the king would gather a team of strong men to help Erda kill Bahamut.*

And so the night of Sardo passed, onto the new day..

(Joker, its morning for you now so arrive at the palace doors or whatever.)

If you say so. *The high priest said with indifference. * A prophet can only mean good. Even if great tragedy befalls us, it is ultimately unimportant, for we will have learned from it. We learned from the great migration, and the great battle. We can learn from what your friend brings.

John walked up to the palace doors. He had gone back to Fort Dragonia the night before, and had everything important moved to the sand Fort, with everything else moved to Fort Lagona. Only the brotherhood knew where the sand fort was, and so only it's members brought the important items there. Neverthe less, the brotherhood remained in Fort Lagonia, so it's core members weren't known.

So here he was, clock on and staff at his side. On his back, mostly under his robes were his swords on his back. He was fully revitalised, and still carried the purple smoke dagger. "I'm here to join the dragon hunting party." He said to the guards, almost as if he'd been invited to.

The guards seemed to eye the old man up for a moment before shrugging and opening the palace doors for him.

The left of the two, an Elf walked through the doors; "Follow me, the others are gathered in the courtyard."

The Elf lead John through three corridors and eventually out into a large courtyard that had been newly implemented in the re-furbishing of the palace.

Sitting on the grass on his knees with his eyes closed was Er're, his unusual sword lay across his lap. He had just sent a mental message to Brunnex2 to come to the courtyard now if he wanted to come on the hunt.

Along with Er're there was the king himself, plus Sin whom had reappeared a few hours after the attack last night, and now stood twisting and turning yet another puzzle box absent mindedly.

The Elf nodded to John, and then walked away.

Fenrir is not mine to save. He answered he gazed straight up as if he werent really looking at the stars. People die all the time; such is the way of life. The value of life is set in the mind of those who can take action. I did not see a benefit in keeping Fenrir alive aside from the younglings annoyance at me had he died. I was readying myself for attack however when he made it clear he wouldnt stop with Fenrir. He answered honestly this time...

The little Island nation of Panau not so far from Sardo in the Great Sea lay in a state of complete disrepair. Its only settlement lay destroyed as if ravaged by King Kong. Of course not a single corpse or living being could be found on the Island.

Except from Brunnex2 who staggered aimlessly around the capitol like the living dead. Oooooh... He moaned. He had clearly over-consumed the night before. Not even a mighty demon could process this amount of flesh. Well, not so many so quickly.

Brunnex2 touched his stomach his hand in a claw position and, like his head, turned the stomach. He felt better instantly as the demon was aided by magic from Brunnex2 own store. After a few minutes he moved his stomach back and teleported appearing in the Palace courtyard. Seemingly his ID had been tagged as no-one accosted him this time.

"Hello, everybody." He said instantly regretting not saying something better; funnier.

"I apologise for the offence but what did the last prophet do besides unite you and then get so many of you killed that you were the same size as one of the big tribes anyway?" He asked still eating. He was probably about to get verbally, physically or magically attacked and he didn't much care...

Faolin hummed for a moment; "I see, so your only aim is to protect Shang." He paused for a moment before speaking again; "Interesting."

He plucked a small blade of leaf from the grass by his head and began twirling it between his fingers; "So, I assume if Shang was in danger you would jump in? If thats the case, and the two of them stick together as I assume they plan to then you'll probably be defending him a lot." He smirked and flexed the blade of grass; "Birds of a feather flock together eh?" He chuckled slightly; "To think, that not only is this age 'blessed' with two demigods but they also happened to stumble upon each other as well." Faolin seemed to not care that he had just revealed that he knew both Shang's and Fen's identities at all, after all he doubted Shilor cared.

"I only have one last question, its a fair enough one as well but I suspect that I will not receive a truthful answer if any at all." Faolin let his head fall to the side so he was looking straight at Shilor; "Why is it you wish to protect Shang? What is it exactly about this young boy that makes someone like yourself want to protect him. I can tell it is not a sort of parental love, or even a friendly nature at all. It's truly strange."

---

"Ah, Brunnex and John. You're here, thats good. I think Lord Blackflame might be joining us, lets give him some time before we move on with our journey." Er're stood up, sheathing his blade.

John cracked his neck, then walked over to the group. He idly played with the dagger, leaving the staff behind. It turned into dust almost immediatly. He walked over to Er're, the king and Sin, and the dagger turned into a small puzzle, the idea of which was to get a small ball throguh circlar hoops, while moving through a maze with holes in it. The beauty of it? It was almost impossible to do, without falling into a hole and restarting again. He placed it on the floor, next to Sin, then turned his back, walked over to a bench and held out his hand. The staff appeared in it, and then he began tapping away on it.

"Looks like you've made a friend son." The king chuckled.

Sin looked down at the new puzzle for a moment, then his current one vanished as he reached down and began attempting to figure out what to do with this one. If it was not for the fact that he was so focused on his new toy he would probably have thanked John.

Er're sat next to John on the bench; "So, are you ready for a lengthy journey old man." Er're smirked, he it was clear he didn't mean it as an insult.

Shilor did not speak waiting until Faolin was finished. He did none of the usual things people did when they listened to others. He simply lay there gazing upward. He did not answer for a while longer than he should.

Did you ever meet Brun? He asked eventually seemingly ignoring Faolins question or was he answering it? It was hard to tell.

Brunnex2 sat upon the floor and began to cradle his head. He still had something of a headache. The grass started to grow around him. It grew thick and outward before turning back, but still growing, after a while to form a grass orb around him. It took only a few seconds before he was fully encased.

"I've been to hell Er're, and made it back in one piece. I think a trip to the dragon realm will be a piece of cake." John relplied, in a non boastful, almost matter-of-fact tone. The staff flashed various of colours, perhaps enticing to a young mind. Every now and again a small noise was heard. It would be something like a crack, a buzz and even a small puff, and smoke came out the end. John looked at it, then closed his eyes. "Almost there" he muttered.

I imagine that Erda tracked Bahamut to wherever he was hiding and shall inform of his rough location when the time comes. He is, however, in this'realm'." He smirked, John was an old man alright. It even appeared that his mind was beginning to wane.

"Hmm, well I guess there was two sides to that coin." Faolin remarked; "I can say from everything I have heard of the man that he was rather childish, hated losing, powerful and most importantly as insane as they come. However, he was also an exceedingly smart person at least where magic was concerned, immensely influential wherever he was, loyal to the few he befriended in his long life and a fair enough man when he wasn't in one of his worse turns." Faolin seemed to be finished, then he continued;

"However, that is only what I can gather from other's stories and opinions of him. From my personal meetings with him I can only assert that he was quite rude, a powerful mage and a fair sword fighter. As well as the greatest friend Strange had probably ever had, that meant that just like Strange he was always wrapped him in the troubles of this country in one way or another." Faolin shrugged; "He brought me back, but I know it was not through choice but rather as repayment for a favour he was given."

"So, will you tell me why you asked now?" Faolin shook the leaf out of his hand and simply looked up into the sky.

"Well where else could all thos dragons come from Er're? Besides, I've seen that dragon before, albeit briefly. That dragon flew into a portal where small dragonlings were flying from. Considering that it seems to be their leader, I'm guessing it would be hiding in that realm. Either way, it will still be testing of your mind."

John tapped the staff once more, and a yellow steam rose from it, with a slight hiss. John shook the staff, and it immediatly stopped. He mentally made a command, and the wood on it peeled back, to reveal a metalic spike. John began inspecting it, muttering "Perfect" after a few seconds
