Brunnex2 had thrown back his chains to thrown them again when the dragon was engaged by two ferrocks. He shrugged allowing the skirmish to move away from them before bringing his eyes to Bahamut again. He reached down by his side with his fingers outstretched and placed each finger on his side. His clothing lit up as if something had started glowing there.

***

Brunnex let a pretend shred of annoyance pass his face at being addressed in such a fashion before replying without even a glance at Tourivil The church, my master, is where we always go first when looking for powerful mages. Brunnex did not step out of character for a moment; after all anyone could be listening.

(Damn time zones remind me to light up Brunnex side when its night here)

***

Brunnex2 raised his palm and shot off a small blue ball at Bahamut. It hit his shield and dissipated. Brunnex2 growled. Since when did Dragons have the ability to cast for themselves? He had never heard of Dragons, even true ones, doing anything more than odd or miraculous things made whimsical by emotional activation. Bahamut, no matter how emotional, was casting a spell that drained a mana pool like any old mage.

He would have to be careful here. He opened his hand and a tennis-ball shaped metal ball appeared. He threw it at the shield. It was a bomb; enough to take out one of the Twin Towers. Brunnex2 was hoping Bahamut would try and push it away with his tail or something so that it would take a chunk out of that. Otherwise it would make a good test of his shield.

***

Shang nodded hurrying his pace also. For the next couple of hours they talked of little consequence. It was a bonding few hours affirming Fenrir as Shangs new friend. Odd though it was the boy was most likely the only friend of his age he had ever had.

Shang and Fen so came into sight of their target, the large towering structure of the Temple of the three. A temple built as homage to the new gods.

They were still several miles from their destination, but a deep yearning to meet that man who had walked out on him so many years ago built up in Fen's body and he was forced to break into a jog, what kind of man could leave his impoverished partner with a newborn child? Who the hell did this guy think he was?

---

Bahamut got a nasty surprise when, in an attempt to block the attack, he shot a small snort of fire towards the projectile. Of course, since it was a bomb it exploded on contact with the fire.

The explosion would, of course, be rebounded back towards Brunnex2 as well but as it was closer to Bahamut he was the one in danger.

A bright blue dome flashed to life, the explosion rocked against it and then both were gone in a flash.

Bahamut's eyes glinted and his mental attack was reformed. The four entities merged into a single one and simply attempted to barge through Brunnex2's mind, in hacking terms this could be referred to as a 'Strong arm' technique, and frankly there were few that would withstand it.

At the same time Bahamut launched himself from his tower, in a light-speed dash towards Brunnex2. The distance between them was minimal, and Brunnex2 would realise rather quickly if he tried it that Biomagic was useless in this battle, or rather Biomagic being directly used on Bahamut's body.

Bahamut opened his massive Jaws as he shot towards Brunnex2, if he did not move he would simply be swallowed whole, and the inside of a dragon belly is no place for even such a powerful mage to be.

John was intrigued by the shield, and gently tossed a few weak fireballs, then thunderballs into it. It crackled and didn't seem to like the punishment, but didn't weaken. The wasn't a way out of the sheild, except for the obvious. With a bit of resistance, John teleported out. His arms became bloodied but he reappeared outside the green sphere. He looked at his hands.

Lowering himself slowly, until his feet gently touched the floor, he began meditating. As he did so, his hands began to heal themselves. This wasn't, however, a healing spell. Instead this was him slowly regaining his magic. As he did so, the blood on his hands and arms slowly began to heal, with them becomeing week old scars. He stopped meditating, and looked to the sky.

Brunnex2 dodged out of the way summoning that giant net he was thinking about earlier. Hopefully Bahamut had not the time to right himself and get out of the way before he was trapped in the nets snaring embrace.

I knew I kept you around for a reason. *Tourivil said with a grin as he straitened his monocle. * To the temple it is then. I'm just going to go out on a limb and say it is the massive tower in the center of the city. That would make sense, methinks.

*And with that, he set off through the streets, the closer you got to the center of the city, the harder it was to move through the streets as they became more and more crowded...*

The net in question, though most likely magically enhanced, simply burst into a strange green flame.

Bahamut shot past Brunnex, and threatened to hit the ground at great speed actually. Until he curved his upper body and his tail-end simply followed, he flowed through the air as he he was naught but a wisp of smoke.

He whipped around to face Brunnex2, a fair distance now between him and the two-legs. He was slightly perplexed why the man had not even reacted to his mental attack, at all(Get on that one >.>) but cared not. This battle had grown boring, he would end it now, his kin were all slain anyway.

It was true, the city now watched as Brunnex2 and Bahamut fought above, the rest of the dragons lay dead and the mages ran around putting the fires out.

Bahamut shot into the dark night sky, disappearing almost in the heavy cloud cover. He flapped his wings and curled around himself in the air, as much as he could since his body was constantly worming around during his flight. He then lifted his head towards the sky and opened his mouth, from it poured a thick stream of pure white energy.

The energy collected in front of his mouth, in a ball shape actually, and within an instant said ball was the size of a building and yet it grew still, larger and larger by the instant. Its growth rate was insanely fast, and it appeared to be entirely comprised of magical energy making it an immensely dangerous attack if it hit.

The air just below Bahamut shimmered and from it shot five small dragons, it seemed that they were Bahamut's protection for the moment.

These new dragons did not have the folly of their previous kin, they had been teleported here by Bahamut with specific instruction from their leader; Hunt the champions, and hunt them they would.

One flew straight for Brunnex2, it was the largest and if one was to check its defences would soon find it was protected by the most magic of the lot as well.

The others flew for, Rend, Er're and John. One dragon each, plus the one that stayed behind to guard their master. They were smaller than the average dragon but that gave them a small advantage when they landed since the streets were rather narrow. Either way, it would be a tough kill for the four of them.

Bahamut's attack grew in size by the second, its size was becomingworrying...

Brunnex face twitched in an odd resemblance of a smile as if he found the professor amusing. He didnt reply changing course with him as they made toward the building. If they had been searching for mages, Brun thought, this would have been their best bet. Mages, by nature, were drawn to philosophy and/or theology. Magic had a habit of making one consider the universe.

***

Brunnex2 reached to his other side activating another light before reaching to the back of his head placing his fingers there but turning them this time. To the surprise of anyone watching a small circle of his hair actually rotated coming to rest somewhat to the right. Magic started to leak into Brunnex2 mind moulding into a shield around it. Such things were dangerous for the mind but Brunnex2 mind was not a permanent one.

Brunnex2 turned to his dragon and roared with frustration. His arms became curved blades and his flesh rippled becoming blackened and hard a white coating over his head like a helmet. In the centre of his chest was a white diamond the glowed blue as he transformed. A blue bolt of lightning arced from it striking the dragons shield which pulsed and then crackled with energy before disappearing. The diamond was no longer blue.

Brunnex2 rushed forward to the dragon which aimed a paw to swot him away he blocked with his right a smidgeon of dragon blood lining it as it created a shallow line. Brunnex2 tried to consume but found Bahamut had also created a thin physical barrier which seeped into the wound making sure he could not touch the dragon. The dragon engulfed Brunnex2 in fire but the solid material around him did not even melt. However one could not it cracked and the diamond gained a blue flicker.

Brunnex2 tried his earlier ploy but dodged out of the way before he entered the mouth as he felt a rush of wind signalling the end of the flame torrent. He instead aimed a swipe at the beasts neck. The force was enough to break through the thin physical barrier for a moment to create a deep gash but nothing important was severed nor was he able to consume.

Brunnex2 roared in anger as fresh waves of it fell on him and, instead of dodging back, he aimed a cut with the other hand on the other neck strafing to the other side. The dragon moved its powerful wings batting him away easily and cracking his armour again causing the blue flicker to become a small blue glow.

Brunnex2 was infuriated the white sheet over his head had started to glow a dull red. The dragon darted forward attempting to seize him in its jaws. There was a sudden flash of red and the dragon inflated exponentially exploding into a shower of blood and guts.

Brunnex2 returned to normal keeping the diamond in his chest. His eye did not glow red nor did he at all. Frankly he was unsure what had just happened and hung about like a confused child instead of attempting to stop Bahamut.

Bahamut's ball had grown to the size of a three story building in diameter. Things were not looking good for Sardo....

---

Er're leapt into the sky, a leaf-bladed spear appearing in his left hand from utterly nowhere, he flew towards his dragon with fervent glee in his eyes.

At the last moment he lifted his spear, the dragon had no time to adjust course at all.

The spear sparked as it sliced through Bahamut's barrier, it was actually designed for that exact purposeso doing so was rather easy, and it planted itself in its mark.

Er're flew past the Dragon, sticking his spear in its right eye hole as he done so, The beast screamed in agony and began a tumble to the earth as it batted it the weapon in its eye.

Er're turned, completly stopped in mid-air, to face the falling dragon. He smiled fiendishly and then clicked, the spear simply exploded. The dragon's brain was deduced to mush, along with most of its head. Its dead body crashed into a building near the Ork Lord.

Er're appeared at Rend's side, another spear in hand. He was ready to aid the Ork if need be.

John was suddenly glad he'd taken a few minutes to recover some magic as he watched the draagons spawn, with one heading towards him. He couldn't see Toun anywhere, but it mattered little. Toun could handle himself. The dragon hat came for John landed about twenty metres from him, landing on a building before crushing the walls with its claws. It stood upon the rubble with a gleeful look in its eye. John didn't have to guess that it had been summoned to kill him.

He readied himself, and brought up a shield for the flames that never came. As he wondered why, it became apparant. The dragon had started to fly over him, and had already sucked in breath. It fired from above, hoping to ensnare him in the flaming death that it brought. His shield held, and the dragon stopped after a few seconds, believing him dead. To its satisfaction, there was nothing there. That is until a big sword (like out of Final Fantasy) was swung at it's jaw. Thanks to it's magical resistance, the sword bounced harmlessly off.

The dragon followed the sword, who had no owner, with it's eyes, watching in case it tried something. It blew fire at it, and the sword was gone, but found itself bombarded with various magical projectiles. It roared as it tried to locate the assassin, but couldn't see him. John reached out, and in his hand spawned a bow, and a small quiver of around 9 arrows. He fired each one at the Dragon, the last two exploding on contact. This dragon was going to be a bit tougher than the others.

It was then he decided on an idea that he'd had for a while. He simply walked out of his small hiding place, an almost completely ruined building and charged an attacked. The dragon saw him, and jumped at him blowing hot fire at him. He didn't move, but the fire was launched into the air, forming a fire pillar, which doubled back and came straight for John. At the last second time seemed to slow, and John launched his attack, a pitch black beam, while at the same time the fire was caught in the crossfire, encircling the beam and adding a secondary effect to the attack.

The dragon tumbled over, falling over John, the shield it had was broken, for now. John walked over to it, held out his hands, whiched glowed slightly green. He allowed the dragon to get to its feet, and it roar at him. That was when he struck.

Jumping straight at it's mouth, hands out in front like Superman, he shot into it's mouth. His glowing hands were a symbol of the magic he was now using, as he kept the dragons mouth open, as well as widening it's throat as he slipped down, straight into it's throat.

Now you're probalby wondering how John is still alive. If you remember to over twenty years ago, John had a spell which could create a smoke minion, which was completely immune to physical damage. In the years since, John has been able to not only master that spell more, allowing his minion a resistance to magical attacks, but had also been able to render himself smoke-like. This spell is still in it's basic form, rendering the user unable to be hurt by physical damage. It was this spell that allowed him to survive, making him smokey the moment he entered the dragons mouth.

So he travelled down, as a smoke entity, into the dragons stomach. He transformed from being a formless smoke entity into a form that was humanoid in appearance. From nowhere smokey humanoid John sprouted a smokey blade, one that formed into a steelish metal sword. John walked over to the edge of the stomach, his feet walking on the acidic contents of the stomach, and simply sliced the stomach open.

Not content with just that, hereached out with his hands, pushing outwards. The dragons chest started to swell and contract, eventually exploding outwards, the bones still intact. The smoke flew outwards, landing on the ground, near the almost completely ruined building. It reformed into John, as he sat against the wall. He breathed deeply, new robes hiding mysterious wounda that caused his arms and legs to bleed. John was tired.

Toun appeared next to John; "Nice kill, the real threat's up there though." Toun looked towards Bahamut who now held a ball the size of a....Very large ball of energy, in front of his mouth. The rate of magic pouring from his mouth was slowing, it appeared that he was almost done.

"We have to stop him." Sir Tillion smiled as he rounded the corner and stood next to Toun, his random Threllos partner at his side. Tillion eyed the ball of magic up sheepishly; "Its not as big as Shino's...But it will probably do the same amount of damage if we let it hit."

"You're forgetting, we have something we didn't have last time when Shino was here." Toun smiled and raised his staff, then lowered it again. It seems he was only stretching.

"Whats that then?" Tillion smiled, already knowing the answer.

"Why, me of course!" Toun joked, he chuckled about it but the fact was that of all the mages in the city he had, by far, the most magic of the lot.

"I'm guessing you're a lot stong than Shang Tao had been then Toun, as he couldn't beat Shino and the two of them created giant balls of energy just trying to kill one another." John said, all in one go. He took a deep breath. "Gods, I hate getting old. Why does everything exaust me so dam much." He said somewhat quietly, though the others could hear if they paid attention. John summoned his spear and began to meditate lightly. If someone talked to him, he would hear them.

*The pair finally reached the plaza around the Temple of the Desert father. There was a certain buzz in the air. Partially because it was the center of a faith, but the priest hood were also putting off a good deal of magic. The main doors to the temple were opened, so the two slide inside, and found themselves in a massive, open worship space. Soft rugs for praying were arranged in neat little rows all around the floor. The walls were bare stone, with images of the desert men's past, present, and supposed future etched into them. Every person or object shown in these murals were filled in with a metal. Copper for commoners or soldiers, silver for priests and otherwise important people, and gold for Heros and prophets. The desert father himself was depicted as a fist sized diamond carved into the shape of an eye, which was planted in the stone behind the main alter. rays of "light" made of various white or gold crystals extended into all of the murals in the hall, following the curve of the walls. *

*Tourivil gave a nod or two. *

Very pleasing to the eye, especially considering the small amount of time they've been here. Anyways, I can feel mages throughout the building, a few who are pretty good...But the real attraction is coming from the basement. Perhaps...You can feel it too, bodyguard? It does not feel like a person, perhaps...an artifact.

"Tao was considered an average to weak Rank two Threllos, though it could be said he became a better average to strong one nearer the end of his time. I'm rank one, we're not really comparable." Toun smiled widely; "That being said I wouldn't take my chances against the man in a fight, magical potency isn't all that makes a good mage after all, plus he was a swordsman of true awe."

"As for the Shang Tao versus Shino fight, I think it might have went differently if not for the fact Tao was trying to defend Sardo as well as kill Shino, but still Shino's skill was intense that day..."

"I wonder what he would be like if he went up against yourself, or the kings son. I doubt he'd win, but then again you and the kings son do have a lot of magic each." It was subtle, but the word son didn't seem to come out of Johns mouth quite right. He seemed almost reluctant to say it that way, even if the alternative meant his death. After all, there was a lot of ruined buildings in Sardo. An assassin could easily get hurt.

Yes, even for one not practiced in the arts I can feel it in my bones. He spoke some amount of truth. Ferrocks whilst refusing to partake in it could still feel it if the proper senses were attuned. Brunnex as he really as, however, could smell it. It bore a familiar air that he found he could not place. It enticed him and seduced him luring him with a charm likened to lust; bloodlust.

Rend's dragon approached him and the Ork held his ground, as a true Ork would.

The Dragon however pulled up at the last moment, gusting Rend backwards so that he lost his footing, and then simply bathed him in flames.

Or would have if Er're had not leaped in front of Rend, his magical shield protecting but also harming the Ork. Er're wasted no time in leaping into the air and repeating what he had done to his own dragon to Rend's.

He landed with a smirk but before he could so much as make a single comment a gut-boiling roar came from the sky.

That being said, it was half-roar, half-growl, half-scream. ScreamRoarGrowl.

Bahamut's body seemed to shake from the effort as he opened his mouth even further. Then, as if he were taking a deep breath to attempt to draw fire, Bahamut sucked the entire ball of energy into his body. This was, of course, seemingly pointless.

Of course, any idiot who thought a dragon would go to so much effort to do something pointless would have been shocked and awed when Bahamut once more opened his mouth and expelled the intake of breath he had taken, except not as the usual fire...No, instead it was as a pure white beam, as thick as a house, that shot towards the ground in an almighty war path.

IF it hit, its safe to say all life within a ten mile radius would be reduced to ash. No amount of magical shielding would save someone from an attack of this sheer power.

The beam shot towards the ground faster than most could comprehend it's birth at all, but not Toun, no he saw it and acted accordingly. He appeared above the ground, thirty metres or so, and raised his hands into the sky. A blue barrier appeared just in time to block the beam entirely, the beam and the barrier sparked an unimaginable amount of colours as they clashed back and forth. The insane amount of magic being traded between the two beings, Bahamut's attack and Toun's defence, was enough to force every Ork into a mini-coma, including our very own Lord Blackflame. They could be roused with special herbs, but other than that it would simply take time for them to come back to it.

Toun sweated bullets as he strained under an apparent weight as he held the barrier up, his eyes grew bags under their bags, his entire body tensed with veins clear in his amphibian-like body. His magical reserve had far exceeded the point where the champions would have ran out by now, and it was draining very quickly.

Just as it seemed Toun's barrier would fall to the never ending stream of magic from Bahamut's mouth, its sheer intensity far to much for even Threllosian magic to handle for the minute or so they had been clashing, a red flash escaped the clouds and barged into Bahamut's side.

The white dragon was knocked silly, his beam stopped as he tangled around whatever had just hit him.

Toun fell to the ground, on his knees breathing rather heavily. He stared up towards the clashing entities above, it seems even with the immense amount of magic he just lost he was still focused on the task.

It became rather evident rather quickly that the red flash was another dragon, a very large dragon of a different kind to Bahamut. Where as Bahamut was a long Chinese style dragon this was one of Arthurian legend, a mighty beast worthy of a score of heroes to hunt it, and fail horribly.

To all that had seen him before, this dragon was instantly recognizable as Erda.

Erda bit and clawed Bahamut, and he done the same back. It was a quick and vicious exchange but it was clear Bahamut was weakened from his attack and could not handle the fresh Erda.

Bahamut shook Erda from him and shot across the sky like a bullet, Erda in pursuit like a slightly slower bullet.

And so, the attack was over...

Fen and Shang reached The Temple Of The Three just as the last glimpses of the sun left the horizon, they had been forced to stop their jog quite some time ago due to fatigue but Fen refused to stop so close to their goal. Not even the cold night air would stop him, he held within him a burning hot fire of both youth, and curiosity. He wanted to know who his father was, nay, he needed to know.

The temple was built into the side of a mountain, and therefore the last mile or so is an uphill trek up a mountain pass. Its pretty wide and there is no danger of falling off, plus its a clear path to the large temple doors.

The temple itself has fourteen steps leading up the to large pearl white door, inlaid in which was a multitude of images. Ranging from lighting bolts, to great sea monsters, to screaming faces of the damned. Fun for all the family!

Fen darted up the stairs, even the young Shang might have had trouble keeping up with his relentless pace. He pushed open the tall doors, which were surprisingly light actually, and opened the temple to the night air.

The floor he was on had only three men in light blue tunics in it, other than that it was purely the temple that lay before them. The room itself was quite large, about the size of a throne room except a thousand times more extravagant. The floor appeared to be made of a deep blue marble, but the odd thing about it was that on every bit of the floor was a tiny layer of water. So small it wouldn't even pass the sole of your foot, yet it was on every tile of the floor. The priests didn't seem to mind that whenever they took a step they sent tiny ripples throughout the floor, nor that their feet were getting ever so slightly wet.

Built into the walls were several small busts of an older gentlemen with a goatee, the god Brun. Just as common as these were fountains of all shapes and sizes, from which water flowed freely.

However the most obvious thing out of the entire room was at the very far end from the door. Standing around 12 feet tall was a solid marble statue of the god himself. Wearing what appeared to be normal mage robes, a trident in one hand with a book, perhaps a spell tome, in the other. His eyes stared outwards, clearly made of stone and yet they gave the impression that they were watching you, and everything else in existence as well. The muscles were rather over-the top for a man of his stature, and he had totally flawless skin, or so the statue showed.

Apart from the fact that it was white the statue was so life like you would think it might move at any moment.

--

"Wow, check this out!" Fen crossed the room, breaking the serene silence as he splashed in the tiny puddle to come and stand before the statue of Brun.

The priests all stopped, turned round and stared at the two in absolute silence. It was as if they had just seen two ghosts, or perhaps two young men ruining the sanctity of their temple. Who can tell these days?

Fen nodded as he took the statue's image in, in a single go; "Its pretty cool if you ask me." He smiled towards Shang whom was standing behind him.

He almost slapped himself when he remembered why he he was here, he turned to face the priests and smiled sheepishly; "Are any of you my father?"

The priests backed away from him, as if they were scared of getting within touching distance. One of them, though he couldn't tell which one since the voice seemed to come from nowhere; "He's upstairs."

Fen looked to the right of the room, where a large spiral staircase lead both up the ways and downs. He nodded in thanks and wordlessly made his way to the stairs, whether Shang followed or not was his choice.

Fen leapt up the stairs with the spring in his step that only someone as young as him carried. When he turned with the stairs to see this room something clicked within him, this was even better than the one before.

It was totally white, except for the busts of a young gentlemen with long hair which seemed to be made of solid gold. As well as the countless golden lightning bolts which hung on the walls, not to mention the same shield that sat on all four walls; depicting a Spartan like helm with two crossed swords behind it.

He floor was pearly white, the walls were pearly, the dust, if there happened to be any, was probably pearly white. Everything was flawless, not a speck at all. Yet, this was not the fact that amazed Fen the most when he came to stand in the centre of the room. No, that was the roof.

Or the lack of one. Well, from the outside it looked as if the temple had a roof, and thats because it did.

However the roof of this room, the very top room of the temple, was gone. Leading out into pearly white clouds that moved slowly across the top of the room as if it were the edge of the sky. Their radiance was the only light brought to the room, and it was by far enough to go around.

Fen stared up at it in awe, it seemed to stretch forever beyond the clouds and from this fluffy white sea he could sense an immense power. It was not that of a magical one, or even something that can be compared to anything else. It was, to attempt to describe it, as if something great and powerful lay beyond the clouds but gave off the distinct feeling that it would stay beyond said clouds no matter what.

Fen shook his head to break his fixation on the roof, he looked around and was surprised to see that there was only a single priest in this floor, a tall white-cloaked man looking away from him and staring at the large statue of a pearly-white warrior wielding what appeared to be a solid bolt of lighting in one hand and a sword in the other.

They had cleared the entire floor just so Fen could meet his father? That was odd, but Fen was too nervous to care.

A lump formed in his throat and his heart threatened to explode from his chest. He took slow, deliberate, steps towards the man's back. His hands fidgeting, his youthful confidence blown.

He had thought he would have been angry, when he met his dad I mean. He thought that rage would build up in him, and he'd storm over to the man and whack him in the face for being such a bastard. But none of this anger came, only fear.

What if his father didn't care about him at all, and had only asked him to come out of some sense of duty? No, he couldn't think like that until he met the man.

"D-Dad? Is that you?" Fen took a last step towards the man, he now stood only a few metres from the man's back.

A chuckle escaped the robe and then it turned, the cowl fell backwards and revealed the face of a youthful man, the face of his father.

Fen's jaw dropped, he glanced up to the statue for a moment, then back at the man's face. Once again, he repeated the process and he saw the same as he had before, the face of the statue was the same as the man's face! They could be twins...Or the same person.

"Hello, son." The man's voice held an acute power, yet it was not threatening at all. More reassuring if anything.

Fen took a half-step towards him; "You're...You're Lazarus aren't you?...You're my...My dad?"

Lazarus smiled and nodded; "Yep."

"Yep!?" Fen growled and then before he knew what he was down; he brought his right fist up and slammed it into the god's face, Lazarus was knocked backwards slightly but did not do anything back. Fen exploded, tears freely running down his face; "How could you! How could you leave my mother like that, alone and poor, when you're a god! A God!! You could have helped her raise me, you could have visited, you could have been there! You, you Yo-" Fen was silenced when Lazarus leaned forward and embraced him in a hug.

"I know son, I know. I wasn't there, and I'm sorry for that." Lazarus sounded truly sad, and when he let Fen go the youth was sure he saw a small tear in the god's eye, it was gone when Lazarus next spoke; "I couldn't stay with your mother because I am a god, I can't remain in the mortal world for too long son. I stayed as long as I possibly could but...I'm sorry, I hope growing up wasn't too hard for you." Lazarus smiled, then added; "I watched you, you know. I watched you a lot, watched you grow into the young man you are today. I'm just sorry I wasn't there to guide you..."

Fen wiped his face, smiling; "Its ok, I can get by. I have to, I'm your son after all. The son of a God, I can't let you down can I?" Fen chuckled slightly, why he done so was beyond him as nothing was funny. Perhaps it was a chuckle of joy, he had met his father and it turned out that he did love him after all. He had his reasons, which Fen still didn't understand, but at least he didn't just leave for nothing.

Lazarus smiled and looked around; "It's a nice temple isn't it? I've got loads built to me, I would trade them all to spend a single day with you and your mother... I miss her dearly, I've had to watch from the sidelines while she grows old. Immortality is a weighty thing to carry on your shoulders."

Fen nodded slowly, not fully understanding his father's words but knowing that they were kind enough; "Why did you want to meet me now, what's changed with your ability to come to this realm?"

"Nothing, its hard for me to stay out of my realm for long due to our rules etc. But its far easier in my temple, so I had to wait until you were old enough to travel here until I sent for you.

I see you got the amulet?"

Fen grasped the pendant around his neck, it felt warmer than usual; "Yeah..Thanks, its great."

Lazarus smirked, it was a smirk of knowing something Fen didn't; "Its more than great, hand-forged by me. Its the best of the best, but I have something better to give you before I go."

Fen only seemed to process the last two words; "You're leaving? Already!?" He felt his emotions build again, why did his father have to go so soon? They had just met, barely spoken two words to each other.

"I'm sorry, I have things to attend to in the godly realm.

But as I said, there is one thing I must give you before I go." Lazarus smiled and reached into his white robe, and from it he pulled a sword of peerless craftsmanship.

It was a light teal in colour, perfectly straight and double edged. The hilt was slightly darker blue than the blade, and was wrapped in what appeared to be blue-ish leather for extra grip. The blade was a hand and a half long, and was sectioned off from the blade by nothing more than a few inches of open metal. No cross guard was to be seen at all. The weapon was sleek and powerful looking, definitely made to be a quick hitter.

Its made from Olympian Steel, hardest substance in the known universe. Rare is hell as well, took me a while to find enough to forge even this blade. The Trident is made out of this stuff, countless other godly enchantments of course, but this is the raw material used. It won't break, ever, nor will the edge dull or the metal rust. Its perfectly weighted, and its balance will adjust to suit your style as you develop. It weighs a bit more than your average sword, but your demi-god stregnth will make up for that when you're properly trained. Its the perfect weapon, my own blade would most likely be bested by one so strong.

Here, its yours. Lazarus held the blade out towards Fen, who stared at it dumbly.

For me? He choked; But it must be worth its weight in gold! You can't give this to me, I've never even lifted a sword.

Its worth this temple's weight in gold actually.,..But that's not the point, you're my son and its a present from me. Take it, you'll get used to it quicker than most would. Lazarus smiled, the fact his son had never wielded a sword did not come as a surprise. The town he was from was a relatively peaceful place.

Fen gulped and put his right hand around the blade's grip, his father let the blade go and it fell to the floor like a rock. Fen's arm roared in pain from the weight, he couldn't budge it. He groaned and strained, brining his other hand into the mix meant that he could lift it, though barely; What...The hell? He lifted it for a mere instant, then it clattered to the floor again.

Lazarus laughed so loud the walls seemed to shake; You have a while to go till you can be called a swordsman, thats for sure! He laughed and then clicked his fingers, the blade appeared on Fen's hip with a matching teal scabbard. Its weight was gone, for now.

Once you take it out of the scabbard it will weigh as it once did, the enchantment will be removed from the time you do that so don't take it out until you're ready to learn. Lazarus seemed to listen to something behind him for a moment, then he sighed; I must go now, son. Seek me out on Mount Olympus when you need me, I imagine its going to be sooner rather than later. Lazarus smiled, and then he was gone.

Leaving Fen staring at where he had been dumbly. The sword on his belt was the only thing, along with the pendant, that he had left of his father's visit. Yet, it was enough. He smiled as the descended the stairs, skipping happily with his youthful joy restored.

However he was struck dumb once more when he stepped down into the room of Brun, the door was still open and yet the outside world was bright and sunny again. He had been up there for the entire night? Impossible, it had only been a few minutes!

Yet it was true, in the time it took for Fen to meet his father an entire night had passed him by. How did this happen you might ask? Well, time works differently around gods.

Fen didn't feel tired at all, in fact he felt as if he had just rested the entire night. He looked around for Shang, a gleeful smile on his face...

Tree seems to be nothing more than a cloaked man. His face is entirely hidden beneath the shadow of the hood that he is wearing, his eyes can only be seen if one were to give him a mirror and accidently reflect the light to his dark green eyes. but the odds of that happening is pretty slim, not to mention he is a suspicious character in his own way and reason. The cloaked man walked on the dirt raod, procceeding toward Orkanso unaware of his magical presence, he wondered to himself... what would happen if he would walk amongst the people of Orkanso? Does his magic give off ? Will he be stopped by orks ? He didn't know, He is just a young man exploring the country into his own eyes. Much like his father, Leaf, he yearned for adventure and was prepared for anything that would come across him, either good or bad, he continues on.

He walked a raod leading to Orkanso, hearing the steps as the ground grew more solid and 'flatter' and starting to darken in a greyish or blackish hue. Other than to satisfy his own curiousity he wants to go to an Orkish blacksmith and have him make a blade of a strange rock that he had discovered unfortunately while travelling. He watched as the sky became greyer and the terrain become rather rugged and rough. He knows that he is drawing near to the orkish lands and he wont stop until he gets to that city.

"Odd..." Er're remarked as he watched the two dragons disappear in the night sky; "Rider was not was dragon, a rare spectacle indeed."

He shrugged and bent over Rend, he produced some strange leaves from the air and began waving them around Rend's nose. It should, in theory wake him up from his magic-induced coma.

John didn't hear any backlash from either Toun, the other threllos of Sir Tillion. He didn't care, but it just made his life easier. "You know we'll have to go hunt that dragon down. It won't stop attacking Sardo otherwise." He stated, despite the fact it was rather obvious.

Do you mind if I kill someone? Brunnex asked under his breath. It was a reasonable question; Tourivil might feel attached to these people.

***

Brunnex2 watched ready to teleport if things went bad. When Erda tackled Bahamutr out of the sky he had haft a mind to chase after them but decided against it over all. Bahamut would be back...

He teleported appearing in front of Toun. Are you alright? You used up a lot of magic there?

***

Shang had gone to follow Fen up the stairs when his path was blocked by a black fist about the size of an orange.

Shang recoiled not wanting to step into such a fist. He looked up, and up, to see a being who almost rivalled the height of Faolin at an impressive seven foot five. It was a tall, colourless ferrock that blocked his path. Said ferrock wore a simple garment of obviously hand-fashioned cloth tied to the body with hand-woven rope. He wore no shoes his feet lightly pressed against the cool wet floor. His wings poked out of well fashioned holes and a rather large sword hung over his back between the wings in a metal scabbard that must have weighed more than Shang did. The oddest things about the ferrock were his eyes. The whites of them were scarlet and his pupil absolute black. They seemed to be able to see right into your soul and now they peered into Shangs eyes; it freaked Shang out.

Shane. He spoke deeply with a sinister hint in his voice. It was not a question; it was a confirmation.

Shang felt sudden relief in the knowledge that he wasnt looking for him; after all his name was Shang. N-no. He answered Shang. He added as if to reassure him.

The fist that had once blocked his path bore down on his shoulder. Shang tried to move out of the way but he couldnt draw his eyes away from the ferrocks for long enough. The hand clamped down on the shoulder with a surprising amount of tenderness not even bruising. However Shang knew that if he attempted to struggle the ferrock could easily shatter his shoulder bone like Sunday china.

The ferrocks expression was a calm but brooding one as he maintained eye contact with Shang and hummed a quiet baritone. Shane. He said again as if he had all the confirmation that he needed.

Shang suddenly felt an odd feeling within him. It was as if every piece of dormant magic in his body had suddenly activated. He tried to wriggle away but the ferrock just held him a little tighter. He tried to look away but found he had not the will to do so. There was a bright light as the feeling became even more intense causing Shang to black out.

The moment eye contact was lost the ferrock dropped the boy. Shane. He said with a small smile as if he had just won the argument.

***

Shang came to a few seconds later. His body was on fire with energy. He jumped to his feet anger overwhelming him. What did you just do to me!? He demanded of the ferrock boldly.

The ferrock looked at him with that same expression. A gift... From your father.

Shang opened his mouth to reply but no sound was made. Could it be? Had this ferrock really known his father?

I am Shilor(shee-lore) and your name is Shane. The ferrock, to be known as Shilor, stated matter-of-factly.

Shang grew angry again My name is Shang! He spat back.

A name is a name. If you do not wish the one your mother and father picked then so be it however disrespectful that might be. Shilor said somewhat scornfully.

Shang was just plain frustrated now. He didnt know what was going on. It was all so vague. But... Uncle told me it was Shang.

Your father first called you Shang but you mother made him compromise on Shane. The one you call Uncle was unaware of this. The choice is yours; of which do you devote most loyalty to? Shilor asked somewhat heavily.

Uh... Shang said unsure. The energy rush had gone but he still felt pretty great as if just being there was making him feel more alive.

Shilor looked at Shangs shoed feet There is a saying here in Bruns temple; Bound are they free to journey, otherwise are they free to stay still?

Shang was confused for a moment before following the path of Shilors eyes. My feet? Whats that got to do with anything?

Take off your shoes, youngling. Shilor said gently changing the name to accommodate the fact he had not chosen yet.

Shang was confused but oddly captivated so he did as the giant being said stepping out of his shoes and onto the wet stone. The contact sent shivers up his spine and ripples through the water.

The water ripples as we move; even as we are still we cause it to do so. This is how we are in life; we move through life creating ripples with every step. Every now and then our ripples interlock with others ripples to create even larger ripples as our choices impact those around us. Notice how the water is naturally still; it does not move until we do. The people among this temple believe only the true son of wisdom can make it all the way over to Bruns trident without causing the universe to move. Shilor spoke sombrely making movements with his feet to express an idea if need be. When he was finished he brought his eyes up to look into Shangs.

Shang gulped lost in the moment he didnt know what it all meant but it was clear Shilor wanted him to try it. He turned to face the statue making ripples as he did so becoming even more unsure of himself. This was the first time he noticed the others in the room had left. It was just him and a giant philosopher who thought his name was Shane.

He looked back to Shilor and saw the he had disappeared from where he was and now seemed to be crouched atop the head of marble horse that spewed water out of its mouth into a fountain below it. It would seem that Shilor did not want to overcomplicate things by adding his own ripples.

In fact the water was especially still now except for the small ripples at his feet and even as he thought this the tile he was on rose a little dispelling the water from it. Once the ripples of that action were gone it was completely still.

Shang gulped closing his eyes as he took a step into the water. He felt the ripples before he saw them. He opened his eyes looking over at Shilor. He was disappointed after all that Shilor had said.

Do not lose faith, youngling, every journey starts with the first step. Shilor told him clearly wanting him to try again.

Shang stepped back up onto the raised tile and closed his eyes. Uncle had taught him a few lessons about inner peace. After all it was a key component to magic mastery. He tried to locate his centre finding that the relaxing atmosphere of the temple helped a lot and had acquired said centre quickly. He lightly stepped out onto the water again and opened his eyes. Ripples. He was not to be disheartened this time as he returned to the raised step. He imagined himself as a graceful swan. He imagined gliding over the top of the water and stepped down again opening his eyes. Ripples. He went back to the tile still not disheartened imagining himself this time as a light summer breeze. Ripples. A light-footed monkey. Ripples. A leaf floating gently on the breeze. Ripples. A shadow. Ripples. Everything. Ripples.

Ah, what you trying to prove mister? Shang cried in frustration after what felt like his two hundredth attempt.

Shilor smiled for the first time since Shang had met him. It was a light smile and held a little mystery in it as if he were privy to a very amusing joke that he refused to tell. Calm, youngling, perhaps you are going about it the wrong way?

Dont call me youngling! Shang ordered stepping toward him in anger onto the wet floor.

Look down. Shilor suggested.

Confused, and still outraged, Shang looked down and gasped. There were no ripples. He stood in the water yet no ripples could be seen. He looked up at Shilor face gaping.

Shilor smirked Shane. He said and with something resembling a cartwheel he jumped out of the fountain landing lightly on the tip of one toe. No ripples emanated from it. Did he use any magic, then? Shilor asked seemingly to a third party.

Not a drop. Said a small statue of Brun as it grew and changed into a Threllos who stepped out of the corner he was in to observe Shane with curiosity. He was dressed in similar robes to the ones Brun wore in his main statue and was outfitted with half-moon spectacles which he used to peer out at Shang curiously. No ripples emanated from his movement either.

Now Shang was really confused. Were they all sons of wisdom? What was a son of wisdom? What... Whats going on?

We had to be sure, youngling. He said reverting back to that phrase. I apologise for lying though; I regret that. He did sound sorry but not overly so.

We here at the temple do believe that only the wise may walk with the peace of the universe but you are not wise, Im afraid, not truly. You are His son. The threllos said the last part reverently.

Whos son? Shang asked having not quite cottoned on yet.

Shilor just pointed. Shang frowned following the point of his finger to... There was a sudden splash as if his feet had just jumped and had now landed in the light water. Shang was silent as he stared at the statue of the God Brun.

How long have you been here? the threllos suddenly asked.

Shang answered without looking unable to rip his gaze away from the statue A few hours.

The threllos seemed surprised. My dear boy you have stepped of that raised stone over a thousand times. It is dawn. The very water beneath your feet has supplied you all the energy you need. Shilor had simply to activate the hidden potential within you. You do not walk without making force to push the water. It reacts to your very not wanting of it to move. You are the Son of Brun.

But... Shang started but Shilor cut him off.

Hush now. Your friend approaches. There is much you need to know and that I can teach on the road. Shilor said making it evident that he was to be joining them in their travels.

As prophesized Fen suddenly ran down the stairs positively bubbling with happiness. Shang looked back at the thrello but he was already gone...

Fen didn't even care that there was an overly tall Ferrock standing behind Shang, he just had to get his excitement out; "You'll never guess what! I met my dad, and he's a god!" Fen jumped up and down, creating large ripples throughout the floor. His jumping action made the newly acquired blade on his hip all the more obvious.

-

Toun groaned and stumbled to his feet, he held his head and smiled weakly; "I'm fine, just need a little rest....I've never met a dragon that could use magic before, good thing as well if they're all as strong as that one..."

Er're happened to be within shouting distance, still waving the herbs under Rend's nose; "They can't, no dragon uses magic unless its a true dragon and there rider is dead. Its the only time its possible, and they are all that strong."

(Great, 2 demi gods. You guys are A-holes.)

If one were to ask John why he bled when he used his reserves, he would tell them a story. It was interesting that he did bleed though, as the wounds were unhealable. Not even the best healers in the land could heal such wounds, yet when John regained magic, the wounds healed themselves. The process was simple, the explaination, not as much.

John simply sat meditating with his staff standing verticle between his legs, waiting for someone to answer his question. After all, it was they, not him, who really cared if Sardo kept getting destroyed.

(It was obvious, it's just the fact that you were like @The gods will have little to do with this thread', then it became 'oh lets add two half gods into the mix with godmodding powers'. It makes me sick.)

"The white dragon seemed to be much larger than the red one, who belongs to dear Faolin. I'd imagine that if the red one were to kill the white Dragon, then it would do so with the help of it's rider, who might ask for our help. If I remeber correctly," and he thought hard about it, " I think the white dragon was once Taos. I'd heard he'd been trying to get more power, and I remember seeing a white dragon fighting Hades hordes twenty years ago. Then again I was far away, and I have no clue who it's rider was. Maybe Faolin might."

John replied, ignoring Er'res insult. He did like the elf, and didn't want to make a bit of a fuss now.

"The white dragon was of a rare breed, a Truadi(Troo-add-e) dragon. In ancient times their birth spoke of a great age to come, whether it be an age of war or an age of peace depended on the dragon's choices in its life. Not to mention it appeared to have been pure white at one point in its life, also a rarity.

I'd its probably the first white Truadi dragon in a good thousand or two years." Er're remembered that a few people had spoke of how Faolin's dragon had been a large red one, so that was indeed Erda Faolin's dragon that just chased Bahamut away.

(Still weaker than you - both of them)

Brunnex winked standing and moving to the back of the room. There he seemed to blend into the shadows. He made his way around the room like this until he came to his target; a guard standing in front of a doorway that lead further into the cathedral.

Brunnex moved out of the shadows behind him placing his hand over the guards mouth and with a few soundless sparks he stepped into him taking his guise entirely. Brunnex closed his eyes as the persons memories flooded into him giving him the knowledge he needed to know.

The door he guarded lead to a spiral staircase where one could go up to the prophet/archmage/popes quarters or down to the basement. This one had never been allowed down there before so he still did not know what they would find.

Brunnex motioned discreetly to Strange. They had a few hours until the guard was changed. His plan was definitely not full proof though

***

Shang looked at Fen, then back at Shilor and slumped to the ground. Too much excitement and too little sleep, it seems. Shilor said moving with graceful speed to intercept the teenagers body before it fell to the ground. He hoisted Shang over his shoulder. Fenrir, I presume? He said offering him his hand.
