Brunnex2 admired the slice of forestry heaven with great intrigue. It was odd but he, or rather the many memories he had acquired, had seen stranger things. He walked through the path toward the grove.

Have you also been wondering why? Brunnex asked lightly. I overheard your conversation with Tourivil. You like to hunt so Im here to propose a hunt the likes has not truly taken place for many centuries. The hunted: a true dragon.

Er're smirked and raised his eyebrow;" Oh, a 'true' dragon is it? What fine quarry that is, by any chance is it the very same that attacked this city?"

Er're thought for a moment then simply stood up from his stump, answering his own question; "Of course it is. My friends and I were forced to erect a barrier during its attack on Sardo, the guards here proved useless as did their best mages. It it a powerful dragon indeed, it has been many years since one of my clan has slain such a beast."

Er're rubbed his goldish chin whilst he thought, he shrugged; "Very well, I shall lend my aid to this hunt on the condition that I may claim the beast's heart as my own. It is a ritual for every succesful 'greater' hunt my clan partakes in."

Elderane walked away from the spy he had talked to, having met up while he watched the guards. He had been told of a hunting part to hunt a dragon. John would be interested, as would Markus.

The woman who had grabbed the chest arrived in a small dark, damp room. It was full of mice and bugs, but it wasn't them who she was worried about, it was the cloaked man whose voice rippled when he talked, the deepness installing fear into her heart. She opened the chest for him, showing him the golden glow that came from within. He told her well done, putting a hand on her shoulder, and a smile on her face. "So does this mean I can work for you?" She asked, her voice sweet sounding, and matching her young age. The hooded man looled at her, nodding slowly. She smiled even more.

A sword pierced her heart, a claymore to be exact. She blinked once, then the light in her eyes dimmed. Her body fell limp and slid off the claymore. "She did well, you should have let her join us." The second man said, in his familiar low drawl of a voice. "No Felan, she was a theif, a finder. Death wouldn't have fitted her hand. Her death was the only way, a shame for one so young." He said it without really caring about her death.

Felan nodded as he sheathed the claymore" as you wish, milord."

John eventually found his daughter traing the archers, standing with a long bow herself. He shook his head as he looked at Markus, who stood watching her. "She's getting better John, there's no denying that."
"I'm not, it's just that she followed you instead of me."

Brunnex2 smiled Im sure that can be arranged. We will be meeting tomorrow at noon in the courtyard. He told Erre. I must be away. He said and swept out of the room continuing to sweep until he was out of the palace completely.

I have done as requested. The Hunt will start tomorrow. He sent Brunnex as he set up board in an inn not far from the Palace.

Er're smiled; "You may come out now." He seemed to speak to no one for a moment.

And then, from inside the vines walked a second Elf. This one was clad in light gold armour shaped oddly, almost like interlocking leaves covering his entire body except his head.

His face was not that of a happy one; "You would leave without asking the Chieftains permission, you forget yourself Er're Blodshkul."

Er're sat back on his stump; "How goes our information gather?" He didn't seem to care at all about the Elf's accusation.

The Elf stared at him for a moment before speaking; "Very well, I hope you know what you are doing."

"As for the information gather. Thus far, since the start of our interrogations we have found four spies within this pathetic palace already. Most belonged to one of the assassin's guild or the other, we took care of them, but a few were from smaller groups as well and we decided to wipe their minds of our meetings and let them be on their way.

We have gathered a sizeable amount of information on this country already, and none of it is satisfactory."

Er're nodded; "Prognosis?"

"The country is not doing well so far.." The Elf replied with malice in his voice.

Er're smiled; "The best fighters are nothing to worry about either, a few are of some strength but none match up to the 'great legends' of Sardo.

They shall pose no threat."

*Tourivil removed the sword, still in it's sheath, from his sword belt, and cliped it to the back of his mail shirt. He then pulled his robe tightly closed around the front, and tied the sash tight. He then lowered his hood, and mussed up his short red hair. How an elf had ended up with red hair was anyone's guess. Finally, he put on a thin, gold rimmed monocle, which greatly magnified the eye it sat in. *

Dr. S. Tourivil, Professor of Esoteric Wizardry at the Aegyptian State university for gifted magisters, at your service. *He gave a short bow, and then a large smile. *

And unless you also have an alter ego, you will serve as my bodyguard.

Fen eyed them up before taking the smaller of the two portions; "Looks fine."

The two men ate, and talked a little, but after their dinner it was both too late and they were too tired for Shang to teach Fen anything at all. They slept soundly and undisturbed that night...

Fen awoke first in the morning, getting up and stretching. He looked around and quickly saw Shang, he gently kicked the boy with his foot to wake him up; "Hey Shang, its morning get up."

Brunnex shrugged I can be or become anything with flesh. Brunnex demonstrated this by standing backwards from Strange and, as the blue lightning came, his body changed into that of a midnight black Ferrocks. With a flick of the wrist a long silver sword was summoned to him which he sheathed by his side

Shalock, at yours Master. He said with a bow.

***

Shang gave Fen the evils but stood nonetheless. With a click of his fingers their encampment became earth again and he was ready to leave still bleary-eyed.

Ferrocks from the desert are a tan or brown color. Just thought you should know. Anyways, our story is that we are here to investigate the rumors of great wizards within the city. The best lies are always complimentary, are they not? *Tourivil again smiled as the two approached the city gates. They were, surprise surprise, closed. Tourivil strode up to them, trying his best to look natural. They opened, only to find an armed reception awaiting them. Men in shining steel armor, brandishing rather cruel looking barbed spears.*

"You are not merchants, Why do you come to Unu'kuth?" *The leader of the group of ten or so guards asked aggressively. *

He would have changed after Tourivils comment but they were too close to the city gates now. When the armed men came forward Brunnex shifted himself defensively over Tourivil hand at scabbard. He waited though to allow his master to speak.

The Dwarves that were already in the room, plus the three Ork builders worked tirelessly for around seven hours. Drawing up plans for the new city, schematics of how the city would look when it was rebuilt etc. In the room there was no mages, making it ample working conditions for the Orks to work without having to stop at all, the Dwarves designed most of the artwork and visual appearance of the buildings whilst the Orks focused on drawing up plans for the structural integrity of larger buildings as well as a particular focus on military buildings.

When all was said and done the plans were ready, all of the engineers agreed that it was the best they could do on such short notice.

At the precise moment the finished plans were agreed upon a single Threllos walked into the room, Sin. He smiled at everyone in the room and then asked them to leave, the builders all done so leaving their plans with him.

The moment the Orks were out of shouting distance of him Sin reached out magically towards the Plans. Or rather, in his uneducated magical way, he willed the images of the plans to pop into his head and they done so. A quick moment of working over the plans in his head, and understanding effectively none of them, and he was ready.

He clicked his fingers, that was all it took for the magic to take affect.

-

In an instant, the destroyed and ruined Sardo was renewed. It was an overpowering amount of magic that was used and would probably cause most of the Orks within a three mile radius of the city to fall unconscious.

The city was recreated to the exact detail of the plans, to every inch. The buildings were re-made but all in a more modern design. Everything on the whole looked nicer, newer, cleaner. Fountains sat on the centre of several large plaza areas around the city giving the city a nicer air to it, as well as the large amounts of plant life that was added to brighten the streets up.

The palace was restored to almost identical condition, the foundations and walls were strengthend but apart from that all else was left the same.

--

Sin shrugged, he hadn't a clue if what he had just done worked or not. The inner workings of magic were beyond him and he, for the life of him, couldn't tell when he was casting a spell or when he wasn't. Perhaps because he hadn't cast a spell to date that came close to wittling down his magical reserve. Who knows.

He shrugged once again, this time in a sort of giving up manner and simply walked to his father's throne room.

*Night was drawing near for the inhabitants of the newly rebuilt Sardo, but this was not to be a peaceful night. No, far from it...*

*Tourivil clicked his tongue at his "Body guard. "

There will be no need for that, my friend, the guards are merely curious. Please, put those spears down gentlemen, there is no need for that. I am merely a traveling scholar, with my guardian. We'll stay in the city a few days just to investigate the rumors of the very, very powerful mages which inhabit the walls of this fine city. Of course, the mentions of the magnificent Strange having a such a profound impact here also interests us greatly. He was an absolutely amazing man.

*At first the guard seemed suspicious, but as Tourivil rambled on and on, he smiled. Clearly, this was just a harmless academic. The guard waved them through, and they were ushered into the hewn stone walls of the city. *

Well, that worked well. *Tourivil muttered to his guard. *

Sleeping somewhere in a dark mountain would lessen the sheen of most materials that is for sure, but not these scales. They shone with a grey dullness that reflected the moon perfectly, they had once been a brilliant white had long lost their radiance. That was not however because of the caves, no they had no affect on the scales at all, no this was because he was no longer a shining white dragon, nor was he a cruel monstrous dragon deserving of a black scale. No, he was neither, that was why his scales were a grey colour, he resided in neither the light nor the dark, for he cared for neither.

His mind was a swirling void, a deep searing wound that would engulf any exposed to it. Infinitely regal and powerful, yet even more so it was centred around a single aching pain, a single sensation so great it tore a once mighty and proud mind to the shreds that it is now. That one sensation was one that all, or at least most, beings feel at one point, an emotion stronger than most but when it is taken to the extreme that he was exposed to it has catastrophic results; Loss.

It was a simple feeling, the desire for something you no longer have. Yet, it was surely one of the harshest emotional reactions that mortal beings felt.

--

The heavy beat of his wings singled his approach, a thunderous cloud of his kin at his tail, their wing beat soon became audible after his own. Including himself there were fifteen fully fledged dragons, and forty hatchings.

The arrogant fools had rebuilt their city, when he had made it clear they deserved no such grandeur. He would not stand for this, no, this time they would all die.

---

The first of the warning bells rung throughout the city, it was soon followed by a chorus of others. In an instant the entire city was woken up, and in the same instant they began to evacuate. Mages everywhere teleporting those they could to a safe bunker deep beneath the city streets, then going back for more to repeat the process. It was an ample evacuation plan, but the mages only had time for a single round before the leading dragon roared above, then bathed the merchant's quarters in a torrent of flames.

Its kin soon followed.

Within a few minutes the relative silence of a regular Sardo night was broken by the screams of innocent people running for their lives, by the roars and growls of dragons, by the bright lights and loud noises of the cities mages' relatiating, and most of all, by the sound of air being ignited as fire poured through the city like a flood.

The leader's eyes focused upon the palace, flew towards it and smashed into the building opening a crater in the right side. It wrapped itself around the highest tower in the palace and simply watched its kin destroy Sardo, its roar covered the town in a rolling sea of fear.

"I am Bahamut, fear my kin. Too long have you two-legs ruled these lands. Your time is over, now is the time of dragons!!" A great, and terrible, voice filled the night air for miles around. Its intent was clear, its tone was filled with malice, and its voice held a terrifying affect on most the city dwellers.

The destruction of Sardo had begun....Again..

(Brunty and Flames, both of your characters are within the city walls and thusly the buildings they are hosted in will most likely be set alight in no time. I know at least one other person is going to make an appearance, but if anyone else can feasibly be within the city they are free to lend a hand in killing this large horde.)

Elderane watched as the dragon approached. The spy he had talked to ran back outside, wanting to know what the voice came from.He same it, and with Elderane, they both ran. Once hidden behind a house, they linked arms and teleported. Moments later, John arrived, walking out of thin air. He cracked his neck, two Katanas on his back. This would be interesting.

Two dragonlings rounded the corner and came into sight of John, their eyes recognized an actual threat when they saw one. Together they charged the lone assassin.

--

From his tower Bahamut roared, clutching the stone tower so tightly that it creaked and cracked. Almost giving way beneath is strength, it would have done so if he wasn't holding back.

From the palace below two events could be seen happening, a group of Elves few in number simply strolled out of the palace doors and erected a magical green dome around themselves.

But more importantly, Er're walked from the group. Sword in hand, other hand in clicking position. It seemed he would fight whilst the others of his kind would not.

Sir Tillion could be seen in the north side of the town holding off three of the larger beasts, most of his effort being diverted to saving the citizens who ran through the streets screaming their heads off.

--

"Sin! Where is Sin!?" Sir Tillion's breathing was frantic, the dragons were taking turns swooping at him, or at least two of them were. The third had simply landed and charged through several buildings to now stand before him, he was leaping around its swipes and lunges but barely.

A Threllos whom had been assisting him with the beasts, and stood at the hind end of the ground dragon, yelled back in an exhausted voice; "He's not here, we haven't been able to find him since he fixed the city!"

"Is the king safe?" Sir Tillion leaped into the air, twisting as he done so in an effort to land on the dragons back but, with the excellent team-work that all of the dragons were showing in this attack, one of the aerial dragons swooped down and smacked him with its tail as it flew past, he was sent like a rocket into a building causing it to explode into a cloud of smoke.

After a moment of silent fear the Threllos saw him exit the ruined heap of stone relatively unharmed, the Threllos focused back on his draconic target; "We got him out of the city, he's in the bunker with the others. He's safe, for now."

Tillion sent a large ball of blue fire towards the dragon's chest, but just as every magical attack he had thrown so far had done, it was repelled by a magical barrier. Something was protecting the larger dragons, something immensely strong. None of his magic attacks could get around the shield at all, and dragonhide is almost impenetrable, this was going to be a terribly long night, or a terribly short one.

After leaving the palace Rend made his way over to his craftsmen. He had decided earlier that he was going to make sure they were working hard and he set off to do just that. Sure enough he found the Gork brothers and the one other craftsmen working with a group of elves. Seemingly for no reason all the buildings around the group repaired themselves at once, making them look as new. The Orks one by one dropped to the ground, Rend being more resistant than his comrades simply hit the ground and got back up as fast as he could.

"What was that?" Rend shouted, while firmly grasping his helmet with both hands.

The elves thought this turn of events to be quite normal and they did not budge after the magic building repair and instead turned to the Orks that were now unconscious. The group began to assist the Orks but Rend had other ideas.

"Let me handle this!" He screamed before booting one of the Gork brothers in the stomach, under his large armour.

The Ork squirmed and writhed in pain. Rend made sure to repeat this process in order to fire up his countrymen. Each one of the Orks came back to consciousness nice and pissed off, so Rend made sure to get them to draw weapons and charge into the fray.

"Lets go boys, you can even bring your elf friends! The elves that could fight all armed themselves and joined Rend. The group was soon able to locate several dragons lurking on the streets of Sardo, burning buildings and killing the occasional group of unfortunate civilians.

"Get em!" Rend roared before charging at the dragons the group of several armed Elves and Orks behind him.

One of the dragons flapped its powerful wings and flew high into the air. Shortly after it swooped down grabbed one of the elves clean off his horse. The monster then rose into the nigh sky again and tossed the elf down into the inferno once known as Sardo at high speed.

Rend simply kept charging and when the group finally met the dragons in combat there was a heated battle.

Rend swung at the dragon in front of him, bringing his axe down on the dragons' neck. His axe although very sharp it was not sharp enough to take the dragon down.

The dragon responded by swinging its large claws at Rend. The dragon missed him but his horse was severely wounded, the claws had left long sword like wounds in the animal's skin. The horse wobbled and collapsed, tossing Rend off onto the street. The Ork quickly returned to his feet, angrier that ever.

"THAT WAS MY FAVOURITE HORSE! GRRRRRAAAAAAA!" The large Ork began to howl in rage.

Rend then swung his axe with all the force he could at the dragon, now occupied with the Gork brothers both fighting the beast with savage enthusiasm.

He landed his axe on the base of the dragon's skull only cutting into the skin slightly, but enough to matter. The large dragon began to sway, the Grok brothers took this as their queue to jump on the monster and begin to stab and beat it to death.

Although it was very wounded the dragon began to breath in deeply. Rend was not the smartest Ork but even he knew this could not be a good thing for anyone. Before the beast could release its flame likely murder the Orks Rend grabbed its jaws with his large metal covered hands. He then slammed them shut causing the dragon to stop the process or risk killing itself with its own deadly fire. While the large Ork held the dragon's jaws shut the Gork brothers caused the beast to stumble and fall, succumbing to many injuries.

There was a quick cheer from the three Orks before they moved on to the other dragon that had apparently already killed the other Ork craftsmen Rend had brought to the capital by request of the king... one of his arms lay in the street still spouting blood.

"One down, more to go!" Rend yelled before charging at the second dragon, eager to kill as many of these exotic creatures as he could.

Sir Tillion and the Threllos had finished off the ground dragon in a timely manner, the Threllos spawned a spear and Tillion tossed it perfectly through the Dragon's throat. Add to the fact that he made it explode once it was jammed in there and you have a very dead dragon.

Their eyes now looked to the skies, their double-prey swirling above with menace in their eyes and fire in their mouths...

----

Er're danced along the streets, and that was a very good way of describing how he moved. His steps were almost rhythmic, his body flowed like water as he hacked at Dragonlings, spun and tossed a spell or two at a larger one, then spun once more to fend of the dragonlings some more. Watching him was like watching a deadly ballroom dance.

Any dragon fire that should have harmed him was simply repelled by an invisible force, any claw that would have found its mark in his body was soon leapt over or under.

His blade was moving like a ghost through the scales of the dragonlings, whatever it was made of was a hell of a lot sharper than folded steel. Although a dragonling's scales are not fully hardend to the point of nigh-indestructibility as a normal dragons are, they are still stronger than Iron and hard for most people to break and yet he done so with a joyful grin on his face, humming a soft melody to himself as he twirled through his swath of death and destruction...

--

Bahamut saw the two warriors fell some of his kind and roared in anger, his roar signalling more of his kin to focus on the Ork-warrior and the skippy-elf. Though more specifically on the skippy-elf, Bahamut saw the danger Er're posed and did not like it one bit...

John let the dragonlings come at him, and jumped over the first one, before jumping to the side to dodge the second. As he dodged the second, he launched a grey liquid from his hand, which wrapped itself around the dragonlings mouth. The first dragonling continued it's attack, but as it jumped at him, John clenched his fist and the second dragonling fell to the floor, dead. It's heart had just imploded due to interal force, through the grey liquid. The first dragonling should've taken his head off,but as it opened it's mouth he stuck his hand out, releasing a frost spell. He effectively froze it from the inside. One swing from the sword off his back and he took it's head. He looked north, seeing more dragons there.

He run over civilian and over a few close buildings, until he reached a dragon. Itspat out the old man it had just munched up and looked at him. It had found a worthy fighter, and a nice looking lunch. It was big, but to John it wasn't even a challenge. He smiled and disappeared, the shrink of his blade telling the dragon he hadn't moved. It dived to where he was, and caught nothing. It suddenly felt weight on its tongue, and the pain as the sword was driven down through its mouth. It chomped, but both John and the sword were gone. He reappeared, the sword sheathed and his feet wet. The dragon roared at him, blood spattering an invisible field that stopped him getting bloody.

He drew both hands back, one either side, and thrusted them forwards with electricty pulsating out of each hand. It hit the dragon below the mouth, hitting both the small stab wound and it's throat. It fell to the floor dead, havin it's blood shocked throughout its body. John continued north, hoping to find other fighters, as well as ridding this city of dragons.

Brunnex muttered an Indeed in reply and started to scan the place they were in. His eyes were not narrowed but they were certainly focused as he searched for viable threats and weighed in whether or not they had cause for concern. Brun had watched Shilack do this many times and Brunnex was merely imitating him. After all this was Tourivils show; he was just along for the free popcorn.

***

The ceiling of Brunnex2 inn collapsed as he burst through it at full magical speed. He was not flying naturally this time. For now he was using the simple flight charm on himself allowing him to move in a multi-directional way through the air; what am I saying every magician worth his stuff knows how to fly.

Brunnex2 observed the city. If this had been a war, his bet would have been on the besieging army. He could distort his eyes in many impossible fashions getting shots of every angle; he scanned the battle like an omnipresent spectre. He was God and his minions were losing.

His minions could wait for now it was time to capture that which had foolishly played into his own hands. He made a move toward getting closer to Bahamut when he was suddenly engulfed in flames. The dragon looked down from above not yet finished its stream of flame it continued. By the time it noticed a blue spark at the entrance to its mouth it was too late as Brunnex2 flew upwards like a bullet into the dragons mouth, through its brain and out the other end. The dragon would have fallen to earth lifelessly but Brunnex2 grabbed it by the air and had soon consumed the king of the skies.

He chuckled to himself What a feast; what a feast indeed. For a moment he looked hungrily at all the other dragons before focussing his gaze on Bahamut. Eye on the dragon, he told himself, eye on the prize.

He closed his eyes and centred himself. This took a little longer than it would for the truly apt but Brunnex2 had never mastered this. When he had achieved peace he meditated on the phrase: one is all, all is one. He came to the notion then that his mind, like the universe, was an infinite place unbound by the laws of physics.

That was when he unleashed a torrent of infinite mind upon Bahamut. A mental connection is a bridge between two beings thoughts. On the lesser of levels this is all that it is. However Brunnex2 mind believed itself to be infinite and, hence, have inifinite thought. For even a thousand year old dragon who had contemplated the mysteries of the universe such a mind threatened to overload the brain as it tried to process and make coherent sense of it. Just imagine every thought every entering your brain at once.

However Brunnex2 was no master at this skill and his mind was certainly not infinite. It was still enough to stun Bahamut for a key few moments as Brunnex2 summoned a giant net to cover Bahamut wighed down by weights large enough to crush any stone house underneath it. Brunnex2 sped nearer to Bahamut as he did so.

Bahamut's mind seemed to split into two...Three, four! Four different entities entirely, then it simply replicated the mental attack that Brunnex2 used back on him. Bahamut had not expected anyone to be capable of any level of mental battle within the walls of Sardo, after all it is an art form far replaced by mere physical spells. However, engaging a true dragon, which had received the full training of a rider, in mental combat was, by far, one of the most stupid things any being could do. In short, Brunnex2's mental attack was useless.

Bahamut seemed to chuckled to himself as the mortal approached, his mental attack would be enough to totally destroy all but the very strongest of mortal minds, but that being said he sensed something within the man that he did not like. Something familiar, a resembelence to another rider, a failure of a rider true, but a rider none the less.

And so, Bahamut roared, summoning his peons to his side. Three large dragons swooped up from the streets of Sardo and rocketed towards Brunnex2 at great speed, torrents of flame extending from their mouths.

---

John soon ran into Sir Tillion and his Threllos companion as they dusted off the last of their dragons, Sir Tillion simply sprinted past the old man on his move to another battle site.

The Threllos eyed him up; "You there, you're of a decent standard of magical level, make yourself of some use and get the citizens out of the western edge of the city." After having thoroughly punched about his payroll the Threllos simply jogged after Sir Tillion.

----

"Ah, Lord Blackflame we meet again." Er're approached the Ork, ceasing the casting of spells since it the amount of magic flying around the city must have been causing him great bother already.

"Do me the honour of fighting by your side in this battle, I unforunately missed the last round of the tournament so I'm still eager to see what you're really capable of." Er're smirked towards the Ork, then in an almost instinctial reaction he turned around and batted a Dragonling in the face with the flat of his blade as it soared past him on a mini-havoc spree.

He turned back around; "Shall we?" A joyful smile playing on his lips, he didn't expect to have this much fun today. Not one bit...

*Sardo lies in ruins, the city is most aflame and most of the dragon threat is still alive. The Mages of Sardo are almost done teleporting the non-military people from the city but the western edge is lacking in mages to do so.

The north side is a lost cause, the dragons have reduced it to rubble. The central area is doing well, the fighters are mostly gathered there as well as the bulk of the royal forces.*

John cursed after the threllos, but nevertheless teleported west. He ignored dragons, instead finding and teleporting what few people he could find further west, away from the city and into the plains. After all, he didn't know where other had been teleported. In a short time though, a small army of around 100 people had formed on the plains, survivors thanks to John.

Brunnex2 did not falter. His mental attack had been beaten but now was not the time. He outstretched both hands parodying Jesus before great chains of bone shot forth from them wrapping around the necks of two of the dragons as he was engulfed in fire Again. Glyphs suddenly shot forth from his hands travelling along the surface of the chains. Upon reaching the dragons they were instantly consumed; their matter and mind travelling up the chain at near speed of light. Brunnex2 eyes tried to reel into the back of his head as Ke was overcame with pleasure but he couldnt show such weakness now.

His eyes came to rest on the last dragon and Bahamut since Brunty has to get off this computer now

As John was looking around for more people to save a Ferrock shot from the sky, having just been pummelled by the tail of a large dragon, he crashed into a building just to the right of John.

He groaned loudly and then simply got back to his feet, he was clearly wounded as blood ran down his crimson scales but as most Ferrocks would be he was relentlessly trying to stay in the fight.

He saw John and motioned for the man to come closer; "You there, you're a mage aren't you? Heal my wounds, quickly please my brother is still above."

John ran over, and held out his hands. If one looked carefully, they were now bandaged and bleeding. He healed the Ferrock and stood back, beathing deeply once. "You look like you could use some help with him." John said, looking up at the dragon. "What say you to an old mage helping out? I can let you two have this dragon if you want to kill it yourselves, but I can provide a distraction."

*Tourivil walked through the streets of the city. Everything in the city was stone, not a piece of wood insight except the occasional pile of wood for a stove. A massive amount of children and young people filled the streets. The population was trying to fill the void left by the great battle. It seemed that men would be in a minority for some time. Tourivil did notice a distinct lack of inns or public houses in the city. It seemed it was not overly friendly to travelers or outsiders. Then again, the men Sardo were about as foreign to the desertmen as one could get. The city was almost entirely human. A few elves and dwarves were scattered about, merchants and those that had fled their homes for some reason, but other than that, it was a sea of olive skinned men. Tourivil was not entirely sure why he had been sent here. *

Well, body guard, what do we do now?

The Ferrock rolled his shoulders, though he wasn't fond of magic or the use of it as it was a cowardly art he couldn't refuse its helpfulness in certain situations. He bent his knees slightly and stretched his wings, ready for take off; "We're good for this one,you should focus your efforts where there is a lack of other mages. Other than that, just aim for the smaller ones really, everyone is glory hunting and focusing on the large beasts whilst the small ones do the real damage." The Ferrock bent his knees slightly more, smirking; "What's the old phrase, take care of the bronze and the gold look after themselves?" He leapt into the air, he was weaponless and yet he didn't seem to mind much as he once again began swooping around the large dragon above, together with his golden partner...

It seemed that John was simply playing messenger boy around the burning city of Sardo...

--

In the most destroyed section of the city a bright flash bounced from wall to wall as a Threllos appeared, a crystal-tipped staff in hand. His eyes were instantly scanning the damage, his free hand reaching into his white robe and pulling out what appeared to be a small stone statue of a pigeon. He smirked at it for a moment, then threw it into the air.

The stone creaked for a moment as it began to plummet back to the ground, then suddenly its body became full of life and its wings flapped with sudden ease as it shot towards a Dragon locked in battle with a group of Elves. The small bird met some resistance in the form of a blue field of magic around the dragon, a result of its master's magic shielding it from harm, but the only thing it caused the bird to do was flap harder to break past the shield, and break past it did.

On contact with the dragon's body the bird exploded, taking entire body of the large dragon into a billow of black smoke.

Before the smoke could disappear the Threllos clenched his free hand, and rather like the Powdered Fyre of a certain forigen country, the smoke combust instantly into a ball of fire that lasted a mere second, a flash of life to extinguish the dragon's.

The Threllos smiled at his work, then he lifted his staff into the air and slammed it down, an invisible shockwave was sent through the ground in search of a mage to speak to. The first mage that the wave happened to come into contact with happened to be a certain assassin.

The Threllos appeared before John an instant later, he smiled widely; "Toun, present and ready for action." He eyed John up and then shrugged; "I thought you were a lower class of my species..Hmm, well alls the same! Shall we get a slaying?" The Threllos seemed quite useful really, even though he must have been in his early forties by now.

Rend switched form his large axe to his trusty spiked butcher axe and large shield. Before he could engage a second dragon a elf came to him and proposed the idea of fighting together. Since the third Ork craftsmen he had brought was now missing and assumed armless he was down a solider so he could appreciate the aid.

"Kill em all!" Rend shouted back to the elf. The Gork brothers too were enthusiastic, they had combined to kill a large dragon despite this feat being almost impossible. The three Orks all armed with thick armour and good swords and shields combined forces with the elf who had already started thinning the dragon numbers.

Rend came to meet two dragonlings, he swung at them viciously hacking and slashing at the head and neck. The Gork brothers continued to work together to flank and take down dragonlings as cunning and fairly dirty fighters.

Rend managed to kill three dragonlings before he was first wounded... longer than he had realistically expected. The fourth dragonling he met had dropped down and landed on his back. It then used its teeth to tear into his shoulder. Rend only lived by the assistance of a elf guard and his spear whos owner, the Ork did not know the name of.

He fought hard but doubted if the group would manage to live through the battle. One of the Gork brothers was burned half to death by dragon's fire and the other was now badly mauled... Rend was injured but these things never slowed him down before, so he continued to engage any dragonling he could find.

"Finally" John said, bowing his head in respect. "I've been rescuing many civilians from this part of town." He flexed his hands, the pain evident on his face. "Time to save this city again." and with that he leapt into the air, higher than a normal non-mage, and floated for a moment. His eyes saw all he could, and numerous fireballs were sent in every direction. One would think John mad, especially since every fireball hit a dragonling, meaning a few hundred were now heading his way. What did he do as this horde decended on him.

He cracked his knuckles.

The horde seemed to comprised of smoke, and it was that smoke which John dived into, caring little for Toun. One could ask why John was helping Sardo, and the answer was simple. He was showing the king thathe wasn't against the king, just against a few laws. He drew his blades, and as the horde hit him, dragonlings fell out of the sky, cuts across their chests, bellies or heads. John rose up at the end of the first wave, and it was apparant he'd been hit badly, his face and robes torn and bloodied. A simple blink and they were gone, except, that is, a drop of blood which ran down his arm. John wondered if Toun noticed his bloodied hands.

He had little time to wonder, as the horde struck again, and this time, he sheathed his swords, opting for a magic based attack. He held up a small shield, and from behind it threw out fireballs and thunderbolts, a thousand times stronger than his usual throwabouts. These killed a few dragonlings, whose bodies fell to the ground. The hord had been reduced to 75% of what it had been, just by John alone. He looked down at where Toun had been.

Bahamut saw John, deeming the man utterly stupid for wasting such a large portion of his minuscule magical reserve, but he still had to be stopped.

A shell appeared around John, green in colour and electric in nature. Simply touching it would cause half a lightning bolt's worth of electricity to pass through his body, and as every mage worth his salt can tell you thats the average power of a magical thunderbolt anyway. Matching a force of nature requires a hell of a lot of magic, thunder especially, not even a dragon could match that raw power for long.

That being said, John would be forced to float in the air where he was, or fall into the bottom of the sphere and be fried by the electrical current.

--

Toun saw the Shell but trusted in the old man's ability to break-free unharmed, from what Toun called tell he was a stupid, for he threw around far to much of his magic supply, but average mage. If worst came to worst, Toun was fairly sure he could heal any wound inflicted upon him...Pretty sure.

So, instead Toun focused his efforts upon the larger dragons, since they were all that was left now, and even they were only four in number thanks to the combined efforts of the royal forces and the champions. The attack had been devastating but it was being handled, very slowly. Though, there was still the largest threat of all left; Bahamut, a dragon strong enough to warrant an army to hunt him, never mind the rag-tag group that had assembled here...

---

Er're danced around the Ork's shielding them when he could, but attempting to use as little magic as possible. He received several small nicks and cuts but they were quickly healed by magic, no fire strayed near him at all.

When he felt the last of the dragonlings die to the old fool's attack he fell back to back with Rend, there back's not actually touching since they were a foot or so away from each other but the thought counts; "Orks, stand fast. Allow the mages and archers to handle the remaining dragons, they are far from your reach." It was true, the four remaining dragons were in the air. On of which was being decimated by two Ferrocks, another of which was being fought near the western edge by Sir Tillion and his team-mate and the remaining two were openly attacking everything in sight.

--

Bahamut watched from his tower, displeased with how weak these dragons had proven. Sardo was destroyed, and many hundreds dead that was true but the royal army had killed most of his force far too quickly for his liking.

He narrowed his eyes upon the one that looked like rider-Brun, he would be the first Bahamut would take his rage out on. Then the rest of the city...
