Shane melted away in front of his very eyes… again. Acupuncture needles shot out at his back at the same time. By the time he’d dodged or suffered the attacks Shane stood several feet away Trident at the ready water congealing out of the air all around him. This was just Shane’s stance it seemed.
He stamped his foot on the earth which caused a crack to form. A crack that shot forward splitting the earth until it went right between M’s legs. Then a fountain of water shot upward out of the crack; freezing water; like liquid ice.

Faolin was just getting back to his feet after being blown aside by Jason's last explosion when Tourivil approached, looking almost as deathly as the creatures they were battling. With a half smile, which looked odd since half of his entire body was made of scales and his face was elongated and long-toothed, Faolin replied; "Something, I suppose it could be called that yes..."
There is a terrible power still left on this battlefield, we must deal with it now..." Erda said within Faolin's mind the moment his partner replied to Tourivil. Erda wasn't one for taking things slow in a battle, the quicker they engaged the next enemy the quicker that enemy was no longer a threat in his books.
"Yes.." Faolin answered aloud, then with an apologetic smile towards Tourivil he carried on; "We sense something powerful is left on the battlefield, along with the rising power of Jet. As hard as it may be to accept considering what we have fought thus far, but this battle is long from over my friend."
Faolin bent and picked up his sword with his right hand, wiping his face of dirt with his left as he done so. When he was standing once more he fixed Tourivil with a serious glare; "The only question is which will die first, and which will die second?"
---
As M had been trying to drive his sword down through Shane's chest his sword continued downwards even after the boy turned to water in his hands, meaning that when the acupuncture needles were fired M was bent over double and half-stumbling and as such they fired straight over him, right at Shane actually.
Recovering as best as he could M vanished into his eye once again, prolonging this little spout of repeating the same thing over and over again with Shane.
This time however M did not reappear for a noticeable amount of time...

Leaf's body reacted quicker than his brain.
One arm was coming down. One arm is coming in like a scythe from his left hand side. One arm is pretty much coming from the front.
His body also felt the hot pain from the heated sand particles and that had made him jump to avoid the death trap of this sanded monster. Leaf jumped on his right side and just as quickly had let go of his green rock aura. He had soon realized that the sand was just way too hot to be used. The imitated particles soon disappeared or fell back into the earth and he switched quickly into his watery aura, to heal the body from the burnt skin done by the sand. The dark transparent emerald aura flows around the man's skin as he got up and looked toward the raging beast.
He put himself and his men in a strangely terrible situation.
The groups of men were farther away from Leaf and the sand beast, they know that they'll get slautered to bits of flesh and bone! Leaf however has the ability to buff them up by combining his earth and wind aura. Bad news is... the sand is too hot. His wind aura alone can only accelerate these men and leave him screwed.
Leaf has to find a weakness and fast. He eyes the monster intently, with his swords out and not too far away from the being since jump in sand doesn't exactly take people all that far.

Balom continued his headlong charge, bringing his bottom right claw back around to cut at Leaf as he done so.
At the same time a noticeably thick trail of sand began shooting over the fighting armies from the desert of Unu'keth towards the site where Balom was engaging Leaf, it was moving faster than any river could but was not nearly as thick. It was obvious to even the simplest of minds that Balom was summoning the sand to him, for what purpose was another matter entirely...

Shane kept his stance. There was no way M had gone… had there?
Time passed. Shane kept his stance. There was no way M had gone.. had there?
More time passed. Shane’s stance relaxed a little. There was no way M had gone. Had there?
Even more time passed. Shane’s stance became lax. Perhaps M had gone…

Jet was sent flying backwards as his dome shield was shattered directly in front of him by Shino's suddenly appearing silver sword, Shino too appeared standing entirely straight holding the edge of his sword up against the air where the dome had been moments ago, before he had hit it with enough power to deck a God.
Smirking Shino vanished once more, leaving only an updrift of dirt where he had been standing. One thing had been proven already by Shino, his time away from the mortal world had only worked to increase his already unbelievable physical abilities. In truth Shino was far, far stronger and faster than he had been before Sazh's ascension not only due to his own personal training, but because Sazh had raised him to the station of 'higher spirit'. Put simply it meant that Shino was like a lieutenant to Sazh, which came with numerous benefits including a huge rise in power. Unfortunately however higher spirits are so powerful that when they are deployed in the mortal world their power is restricted as to minimize the amount of damage they could do to the mortal world, so although Shino is currently kicking the holy-hell out of one of the most powerful, though greatly weakened, men to ever live in Sardo the truth is that he's only at about a quarter of his full strength. If this battle were taking place in the underworld, or any other dimension other than the mortal one, then the fight would have been ended the moment Shino bothered to draw his sword, before even.
Before Jet even had the chance to hit the ground after been sent hurtling backwards by the explosion of his dome shield he was hit by an invisible force from behind and sent reeling backwards the other way for several feet, before hitting the earth hard enough that he made a personal ditch for himself. Somehow, Gods' know how, he managed to hold onto Tamesaka with his remaining hand cradling it to his chest and stomach like a precious infant.
Shino appeared standing over Jet's head, his sword pointed downwards towards Jet's sword, with both hands he thrust the sword down with considerable strength.
At the very last second Jet rolled out of the way, somehow managing to get to his feet in the same motion, slashing towards Shino with Tamesaka creating a blue flare of magic that cut through the air like a wide-spread boomerang.
Shino let go of his sword and batted the magical wave in half with his bare hand effortlessly, staring with murderous intent at Jet all the while. Holding his left hand out to his side with the fingers curled inwards slightly Shino began gathering magic in the centre of his palm as he spoke with no inflection; "This fight has drawn on too long, I am done playing. Begone."
The second Shino said the word 'begone' a handsized ball of rapidly spinning blue energy appeared in his hand, spinning so amazingly fast that the movement actually hurt the eyes when it was looked upon. Leaving his sword behind Shino bent at the knee, then vanished as he dashed forward with his inhumane speed straight at Jet.
Jet could do nothing to defend against Shino's instantaneous movement speed, the ball of magic was jammed right into the centre of his already horribly disfigured chest and drilled it's way through as if it were made of sugar-paper. Before Jet could do anything to defend himself, or even fully realize the extent of the damage to his chest, Shino's right hand came from nowhere with an identical ball of energy and burrowed a sizeable hole in his face.
Shino was gone in the wind before the explosion consumed the tattered mess that was once Jet's body, Shino's sword was also gone from the floor, and so was Tamesaka though logic would suggest that since it was within the blast radius it was most likely obliterated by Jet's explosion.

Mason dropped to his knees as the thick, slime covered, mass of flesh found it's mark in his shoulder and pierced him through and through. He could felt it pulsating, throbbing hideously, spreading it's vile juices into the wound with mere contact, and of course on top of that he could feel the blinding agony that was usually followed after having a huge hole drilled through your body.
The thing that stood before him was no longer fit to be called Balthazaar, to describe it as a Demon even seemed folly, a thing of nightmares it was for sure. It's head had literally split in half at the crown and given rise to a tangled mess of tentacles and smaller feelers that all writhed and twirled around of their own accord. It's body had cracked and splintered, hair and burst from every pore where blood had not oozed it's way from, yet here or there a fragment of black or red scales split the skin at odd angles. It no longer stood on legs but instead it hovered above the ground, held there by a pair of scaled bat-like wings that sprouted not from it's back but from it's stomach where the stems from which they sprouted curved around downwards around the legs several times before rising up behind the thing to flap quicker than any humming birds. What hands and feet the thing had left were cancerous and clawed, as well as far longer and more spindly than any spider leg.
Mason didn't know what had happened, one moment he had been seconds away from killing Balthazaar for good, and the next the arm he had been using to channel his magic was being ripped from it's socket and tossed aside like a useless twig, then he was impaled by these monstrous masses of flesh before he could think about countering. He could feel his magic being drained at an insane rate through his wound but he could do nothing to stop it, he couldn't even tense a single muscle in his body, all he could do was stare at the monstrosity he had brought out of Balthazaar and marvel at the fact the Demon had ever stayed half sane when his body had been fighting back such changes for so long.
When his magic was drained entirely Mason was not simply killed, but rather a dozen more tentacles found his body and wrapped him up tight. After some crunching, squishing and sucking noises so hideous they would drive a man mad the tentacles disbanded, leaving only a small pool of blood where Mason had stood before....

Auron was almost clear of the battlefield now, it was time to stop holding back.
So far he had made sure not to use the more powerful, dangerous, Fallen because he really didn't fancy being caught up in their splash damage. Now that he was all but gone from the field he didn't give two hoots what happened to the rest of the abominations that got in the crossfire of his Fallen.
Clapping his hands together Auron summoned those that were left to be summoned, as well as released the restraint he had put over M's combat abilities so that the man would start fighting all out as he always had in life, though he did not return his emotions.
-
Far from the raging inferno that was the battlefield a sickly grey coffin rose from the sand in the centre of Unu'keth, and before anyone could do so much as scream the coffin lid fell away and revealed it's contents, and the people of Unu'keth truly could not have feared for a worse Fallen to have leashed on their rather defenceless town. Very few of them would know him by sight, but when Shang Tao took but a single step from that coffin they felt his nigh-Godlike strength and reacted accordingly, by running like hell away from the grey-skinned demon that was sure to start causing trouble and havoc.
Tao looked around the city, his eyes spread wide in what could only be described as fight. To himself more than anyone else he whispered; "No...No, please by the Gods do not let this be true!"
His hand went to the hilt of the katana at his hip as he continued; "Run... Run...Run, all of you run!"
In a single fluid motion Tao drew his sword and flattened half a dozen buildings with one magically enhanced slash, killing dozens of fleeing desertfolk in the process.
What scared Tao the most was not the fact that he was back alive, he had accepted that fate, but rather it was the fact that he could sense the energy of Sir Tillion only a few hundred metres due north, and he knew for a fact what his new masters had in store for his old friend now that Tao was on the field....

Fenrir was giving chase as best as he could, but Auron's snake was just too fast for his legs to keep up with, and the abominations that barred his way were not making things any easier.
Fenrir had just cut the legs from under an abomination when the air around him grew thick and heavy, his breath caught in his chest as he realized what that meant.
There was one other man, aside from himself, that could create this sort of mist, and Fenrir wasn't looking forward to fighting him again...
-
Jong Jong appeared in the exact centre of the battlefield, not inside a coffin or in any real show of spectacular power or anything. He appeared without a sound or flashy show, and stood still for several seconds before even opening his eyes.
When he did open them though his eyes shone a blue so bright it was blinding, at the same time he raised both of his arms and from the ground by his feet rose four ghostly-blue tentacles made of pure magic. Without taking a single step Jong Jong began moving his arms around rapidly, the aura-tentacles moved to his will in rapid movements of extreme precision, their length and width growing more and more with every movement made by their master. When they came into contact with flesh they seared it faster than even lava, and if someone was unfortunate enough to be hit by a swinging tentacle they would be sliced in half so quickly that they would feel neither pain nor even the slightest touch.

M was not gone, not by a long shot.
He whirled back into existence behind Shane by several tens of metres, and before the boy could turn around M's eyes focused on the crook of his back from his eyes shot two spouts of black fire that swallowed the air whole as they traveled toward's Shane...

John appeared next to Jasper, grabbing his shoulders and pulling him into a teleport. They ended up on a hil over looking part of the battle below. "So kid, chances are we're going to die down there. Anyone you feel you can take?" Heasked.
"Only those abominations I was fighting beforehand. I doubt I have the power to fight these men."
"Maybe so,"came the reply " but you have the speed to defeat at least one." Jasper nodded, and teleported back onto the field.

*Tourivil looks mournfully at Faolin. * I am too weak to continue this fight. My skin hangs off me like torn cloth. No, the big boys are up to you all now. I will go at fight with my men, I can keep up with the standard undead even in this state.
If you find yourself in need of assistance, holler. My friend will hear you. *Tourivil said, looking at the little beast which flew above him. He then set out at a lope to his army, and focused himself on killing as many of the standard undead as possible. he'd taken down one fallen solo, and had two other assists. Not bad for a mid grade blood mage. *

Faolin almost shouted after Tourivil in protest, but he could see the way the man limped more than strode now and he could also sense that he was truly running low on magic. As powerful as Tourivil had been at the start of the battle there was little he could do now, not that he hadn't made a rather sizable contribution to the flow of battle already by taking out Jason and the others.
What really stopped him from calling after him though was the sudden appearance of three more huge magical presences on the field, the strongest of which actually caused him to quiver a little in fright.
He felt one of the presences begin to fade as Nahkaro shrouded his magical reserves from view and activated his mist, but the other two only flared up in power as both Shang Tao and Jong Jong began releasing their attacks.
He stood, knowing not what to do now that the battlefield was once again filled to the brim with overwhelming powers and he was officially one blood mage ally down. Things weren't looking good for them, not at all, but he would make damn sure that he took down as many of his enemies as he could before he even thought about giving up.
Spreading his wings to the sky Faolin sped towards the power which he most wanted to avoid, that of Shang Tao who was doing a rather noticeable job of leveling the buildings of Unu'keth...

"Fenrir, behind you!" The call came at the exact same time as Fenrir's feet moved him to the right of Nahkaro's attempted stab from behind, the call came in the distinctive calm and collected tone of Nahkaro himself.
Fenrir spun around, utterly blinded by the mist and looked around frantically for any sign of movement. He could feel electrical signals through the ground but that required physical skin contact, the finger being the most effective way he had found so far, and he was pretty sure that Nahkaro was still too close to risk lowering his guard.
"Over here." Nahkaro called out once again the second before his attack would have connected with Fenrir, Fen leaped to the side just in time to miss another attack.
"Damnit, where the hell are you? Stay still!" Fenrir called out in frustration, he was trying his best to remain calm as he had always been taught but having to fight Nahkaro again was a maddening idea since he barely escaped with his life last time. If it was not for his unexplained resistance to Iza's poison then Fenrir would have lost that fight for sure, luckily however Nahkaro was totally devoid of Iza and was most likely using a plain old sword, which gave Fenrir the advantage.
"Fenrir calm yourself, you'll never beat me if you lose yourself in anger." Nahkaro called out calmly from the mist, then in a half-bark; "Block right shoulder!"
Fenrir moved as he was told, bringing his sword up just in time to meet Nahkaro's, the latter's sword retracted a moment later and he was once again lost within the mist. Fenrir was left, turning in circles with his sword held up high to block once again when he got the chance.
"I'm a distraction Fenrir, Auron is escaping and heading back to the boss for some reason. I can still sense him so he hasn't gone far, get out of here already!" Nahkaro cried out another spot for Fenrir to block just in the nick of time, it was difficult to detect what his body was about to do in time to inform Fenrir before the attack actually hit but luckily he was a resourceful chap and he was getting by well enough.
"I can't leave you, I'll get Auron once you're back where you belong!" Fenrir concentrated on his sword, channeling lighting through the metal as he had done in their previous match, with a bit of pride in his voice Fenrir called out to the phantom within the mist; "All I need is one good hit and this is over, you know that."
"Fool, you won't get that hit." Nahkaro whispered from somewhere close by, then he yelled out a half dozen body parts to block as his own body began trying to hack Fenrir to pieces.
Fighting utterly blind and senseless against an opponent who lacks that problem, moving solely on said opponent's basic commands Fenrir was still able to match Nahkaro, a highly skilled swordsman, block for hit. Even in the relatively small time since their last battle it was obvious to Nahkaro that Fenrir had improved a lot, it was possible that he was a better swordsman than Nahkaro himself now and may actually best him in a fair all-out fight, not that Nahkaro was willing to let Fenrir take that chance.
"ENOUGH!" Fenrir yelled as he ducked under a high swing from Nahkaro, at the same time he slammed his left fist into the ground and released as much electricity as he could in one single burst in the hopes that it would transfer through the ground and hit his opponent.
Fenrir greatly underestimated just how much lighting he was actually going to release, and when he done so Nahkaro was struck by a bolt just as powerful as any strain of natural lighting. Unfortunately Nahkaro's body somehow already had a defense prepared for the attack, though it done nothing to stop the sheer blow back of being struck by that much lightning; Nahkaro dug his feet in but was sent skidding backwards so far that he left the safety of his own mist.
When he was once again visible his free hand was held close to his chest in the very same hand sign once used by Itachi to perform lightning based attacks, his hand was enveloped in an electrical field so strong it was not only visible but rather big discharges of electricity were shooting to earth every few seconds, this was the result of Nahkaro catching the bolt of lightning fired off by Fenrir with his bare hand. Straining his entire body to contain the lightning in his hand Nahkaro's mouth moved of it's own accord and called out; "Lightning style, returning spark!" Nahkaro's hand shot from his chest and his finger extended to point towards the centre of the mist that he had just escaped, a lightning bolt thrice as strong as the one he blocked shot forth from Nahkaro's finger and straight towards Fenrir whom was still lost within the mist. That brought a smile to Nahkaro's face.
All Fenrir felt was a sudden tingling sensation in his back, with confusion he turned and broke into a run in that direction, hoping to hell that it was some sort of otherworldly sign of help. When he broke free of the mist he almost yelled out in excitement, and then he saw that Nahkaro was already out here and his eyes steeled. Coming to a forced standstill only metres outside of the mist Fenrir tossed his sword like a spear and with a golden flash of light mid-throw the sword did in fact become a rather weighted throwing spear, heading straight for Nahkaro's chest.
Nahkaro spun around the spear at the last moment, his free hand snapping forward and snatching the spear from the air as he done so, and then broke into a run towards Fenrir spear, and sword, in hands.
Fenrir grimaced at his failed throw and then charged towards Nahkaro, opening his right hand and summoning his spear back to his hand. He smiled slightly when it vanished from Nahkaro's hand, causing his body to falter somewhat at the sudden lack of weight in it's left hand, Fenrir used that exact moment to once again toss his spear, this time the distance between them was smaller and Nahkaro wasn't focused entirely on Fenrir so there was a far better chance that he would be taken off guard and stabbed, and if not then Fenrir could just summon the spear and try again.
Nahkaro did not stop running but did duck under the spear when it drew close, causing him to slow slightly and take his eyes off Fenrir for another few brief seconds, which Fenrir once again capitalized on by leaping forward, summoning not his spear but a small teal dagger to his hand as he done so.
Fenrir managed to slash Nahkaro's chest before the man recovered, but his next slash was leaned away from, and then Nahkaro's free hand came up and grabbed Fenrir by the wrist to stop any further slash. In retaliation Fenrir grabbed the wrist of that hand, and then leaped off of the ground and brought his knees upwards whilst pulling Nahkaro's wrist downwards, just as he thought he was about to make a connection Fenrir felt Nahkaro let go of his wrist and push his knees aside, turning his own body as he done so and turning his forced fall into a skillful combat roll, whilst reducing Fenrir's would-be-skillful attack into a freefall to his backside.
Before Fenrir had even hit the ground Nahkaro launched himself forward, his sword coming upwards to cut Fenrir's face in half before the boy could recover. Fenrir landed just in time to spin his legs around wildly and attempt to sweep Nahkaro, but the man simply leaped over the legs and stabbed downwards as he soared over Fenrir, planting his sword in Fenrir's left shoulder blade and leaving it there thus pinning Fenrir to the floor.
When Nahkaro landed on the other side of Fenrir he made a quick hand sign then called; "Water style, aqua dome prison."
The air around Fenrir suddenly exploded outwards with moisture and enveloped him before he could pull the sword out of his shoulder, a small half dome made entirely of water was created around Fenrir in an instant, and in the same instant he felt the water begin forcibly trying to enter his lungs.
"Damnit!" Nahkaro called out as his body turned to face the trapped Fenrir, making another hand sign as it done so; "Wind style, puncturing air pellets." Taking a half lung full of air Nahkaro made an 'o' with his mouth and began dry-spitting air out of his mouth, taking tiny breaks between each sharp exhalation of breath. However, these exhalations of breath gave birth to pea-sized 'bullets' of air that shot straight into the water dome and hit Fenrir as hard as any 9MM bullet would at this range, piercing armour, skin and flesh alike.
As the bullets found their mark Fenrir tried to scream out, which only let more and more water into his lungs. It was a brutal combination to say the least, and suffice to say that Fenrir was not dealing with it very well at all.
Nahkaro was considered the Shang Tao of Japan for a reason, and although he had rarely chosen to use them during his life he was actually a master of all five elemental magical styles that Japan uses instead of Sardonian style magic, a feat that he alone accomplished, the closest after him to mastering all five was three and that was only by those trained personally by him, such as Itachi and Rai. Without Iza as his primary weapon he was guessing that his body was compensating for it's absence by ceasing to hold back any of his strength, and Nahkaro feared that that meant Fenrir was beyond being able to defeat him alone, as he was proving now...
-
"Sir, there's something new here, he's using some sort of physical manifestation of magic a-" Tillion winched as the mental connection to his scout was cut off, he knew the only thing that could cause that was the scout's death and for him to be taken out mid-sentence before he could even see his death coming for him must have meant his death was instantaneous, which Tillion was thankful for.
Sir Tillion had received reports from all over the battlefield about the state of things, but all of those drained along with the colour from his face when he sensed a sudden titanic power within Unu'keth itself. He would never forget that magical energy, Shang Tao was on the field now and not only that but he was less than a half mile from HQ and lessening the distance with every second, along with the amount of civilians within Unu'keth.
Rising from his chair Sir Tillion walked out of the room that was acting as HQ, a drawn sword in hand. He knew he could not best Shang Tao, not by a long shot, but he wasn't going to sit idly by waiting for Tao to come to him killing all the while.
-
Jong Jong's aura was growing larger and larger every second, so much in fact that the four tentacle-arms that were spawned from the ground were now taller than he was and were mowing down the Sardonian forces around him like grass. No one could get close enough to think about hitting him and there was not a mage around for at least a few hundred metres, nor an archer, so ranged combat wasn't going to happen.
It was looking more and more clear that if Jong Jong wasn't interrupted pretty soon then he would decimate a huge amount of soldiers long before he even broke a sweat. On top of that bad news Lao, who claims to be the only one with half a chance against Jong Jong in a one on one battle, is half a battlefield away and fighting his way through abominations towards his master. It could take him a long while to reach Jong Jong, meaning he was most certainly not the one that should be trying to stop him this very second...

*As Tourivil began fighting the hordes of Undead, he finally noticed that something was wrong in Unu'Kuth. He sent the little beast to do some scouting, and his fears were confirmed. Tao was going to destroy his city.
Tourivil didn't have a choice. Injured as he was, he had to fight Tao. In a moment, he had teleported, and appeared in the central plaza of the city. He set off towards the path of destruction to fight Tao. As he went, the little beast was funneling power and blood into him, which led to the rather odd sight of watching his skin regrow as he walked. *
*Meanwhile, Strange looked down through a scrying pool at Unu'Kuth. This particular strange had no face, just a blank metal plate bolted to his skull, with two thick lenses of a black glass where eyes roughly should be. It showed no emotion. A bored looking Jan then walked up to the pool, he had remained unmodified and unduplicated, despite the promises and persuasions of the thousands of Strange he had encountered. That being said, death had made him more powerful than he had ever been in life, and the constant tutoring of aforementioned thousands of Strange had helped a rather great deal. *
"You and I both know Tourivil will be killed if he attacks Tao alone, and he will. " *Jan remarked in a concerned way.*
*From within the metal face, a voice rasped out. *
"Tourivil is replaceable. Though, his task is not yet complete. If he fails at this stage, he will be recycled. The next prophet is not yet even born. "
"Let me go down there and fight Tao, Strange. It would not be breaking any of the rules the Sardo gods have set, they all have champions on the field. " *Jan said with a pleading tone in his voice. *
*The rasping now became angry.*
"My living will not become dependent upon my dead! I have given them to many boons already, and then you got yourself killed like an imbecile! Now brunnex is dead too, and he'll need time to acclimate to his new form. No! Tourivil will handle this, or the experiment will end! Faolin and Tillion should do the bulk of the heavy lifting, so as long as Tourivil doesn't do something painfully stupid, he and Unu'Kuth will survive. "
*Jan knew better than to argue when his master got like this. He'd learned that before his master had become entities to many to count, more powerful than most could imagine, and perhaps a tad more crazy. *
"Very well Strange. If you say Tourivil can handle it, than I an sure he can. "

Shang Tao; Demigod of Hephaestus(Although he is no longer a God his children still have the Demigod power and traits they had had when he was.), bearer of the Stygian curse, Dragonrider, consumer of Adrammelech the chaotic, student of Jong Jong and world-renown master of sword and spell alike. Few men could claim such a versatile host of titles, especially titles that came bearing so much power as those. In life Shang Tao had been able to stand on the same field as his Sinful Ensemble allies, the most powerful group of mortals seen within Sardo this side of living memory, and also fight against the King of the Gods himself, Hades. His death had done nothing to weaken him, if anything his forced revival had only worked to strengthen him in ways he had never focused on himself.
On a brighter note there was a single thing that concerned Shang Tao that the entire battlefield should be immensely thankful for, the lack of his dragonic partner Bahamut, fighting beside whom Tao would most likely be utterly undefeatable. Without him Tao was downgraded to 'nearly' utterly undefeatable.
After toppling yet another building with a magical sword slash Tao's body whirled around and he saw, with great horror, that Tourivil was on a warpath towards him. He tried to shake his head but his body would not listen, the most he could manage was to shout a frantic warning to the bloodmage in the vain hope that he would listen; "Apprentice of Strange begone, take as many as you can but by the Gods escape now!"
Tao felt his body whirl around once more, his head turning towards the sky as a fountain of flame engulfed him. He felt the heat as if it were nothing more than a small one-bar radiator being moved slightly closer to him, his skin did not even produce any sweat, and a small amount of magic on his part saved his black robes from burning away. When the flames stopped his katana came up and blocked a full-force overhead slash from Faolin, who was falling towards him from the air and so had all that momentum behind his swing as well as his own incredible strength. With a tiny flick of his sword hand Tao swept Faolin's strike aside as if it were an annoying gnat, his body launched itself upwards and before he could give a warning his foot was impeded deep in Faolin's gut and the red-scaled behemoth was hurtling towards the ground in pain.
When his body landed once more it spun around on the spot just in time to be hit in the chest by a sizable bolt of lightning, the only result of which was him taking a single step backwards as his skin insulated the electrical current. His eyes focused on the vague form of an Elf with his arm outstretched, before his eyes could even discern any details Tao's mouth was moving; "NO! FLEE, Tillion you fool FLEE!!"
Faolin, Sir Tillion, and Tourivil now formed a sort of rough triangle around Shang Tao though they were each hidden from view from the others by an assortment of fleeing desertfolk, buildings, and rubble. That being said they should all be able to sense each other, and Tourivil certainly would have seen Faolin's failed sneak-attack as well as him being batted aside uselessly.
-
"He's so powerful..
Too powerful perhaps, there is a better way of dealing with him than frontal assault for certain. We must figure out what that is.
No, Tao's not a fool either, any plan we make up in great haste will be demolished alongside us...If enough of us work together though, we may yet stand a chance.
Not the three of us alone we do not, yet we must fight on.
Yes, that's all we can do really; fight on...and Hope.."
It was hard for Faolin to be sure which inner voice was his own and which was Erda's, more often than not they spoke with the same voice and with the same mind but there were scarce moments when either's personal opinion would leak out slightly and break the unified flow of thoughts.
His little surprise attack had confirmed one thing for sure though, Tao's body was still invulnerable to physical damage of any sort, and Faolin could sense for himself without having to run a test of any sort that his magical reserves were beyond even Jet and Toun.
The more Faolin thought about it the more he realized just how dangerous Shang Tao was going to be: He was as skill as Achilles, as strong as Shino, as magically versatile as Jet, as wise and tactful as Sir Tillion and nearly as resourceful in a fight as Strange himself, Shang Tao was by no means going to be a fun enemy to take down....

The tan fairy dusts of the sand streaming towards that being had caught Leaf's attention.
He avoided the claw by dodging left.
He threw out his right arm and blasted a wad of sticky icky dark emerald aura water at it at the moment he dodged. The wad of aura is about as much 'water' as that of a bathtub, He wanted to see if 'water' could destroy the creature's form in any way possible.

The wad of watery aura hit Balom square in the chest, knocking him back a half step, and also having another rather strange affect on him. Balom stopped where he was, his crescent moon eyes seemed to slighten even more, and a deep gritty noise came from him, followed by a the throaty, sandy, comment; "Puny mortal."
Leaf would most likely be able to work out that he had just gotten amused Balom by attempting to hurt him with something so simple as water.
The trail of sand reached Balom at that moment, and when it done it drilled into his back, seemingly disappearing into it as he gathered it from the air with no visible effect, yet.
Balom once again slashed towards Leaf, this time it was his top-left, middle left and bottom right that all slashed towards Leaf, at the same time Balom threw his entire body forward in a sort of attempted tackle...

Jasper appeared literally two metres away from Fenrir. "Need help kid?" He asked Fenrir, ignoring the fact that he himself wasn't much older than Fen.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
John teleported infront of Jong Jong. Everyone else was busy, and he could sense Lao was on his way.
"Jong Jong, you shall go no further." He said aloud, knowing his words were meaningless.
"Goodluck boys." He thought to the rest of the group, projecting the image of Jong Jong in front of him. He had a chance, a very slight chance, if he could unleash his ultimate attack against Jong Jong. He doubted he could though. If he could, he would be greatly weakened.

Fenrir, unable to even hear Jasper due to the fact he was imprisoned, drowning, and currently being riddled by air-bullets, continued to be trapped, drowned and shot utterly ignorant of Jasper's seriously retarded offer of help.
Nahkaro on the other hand reacted to Jasper's sudden appearance, ceasing to fire the air bullets he made two quick hand signs and called out two separate attacks that took affect at the exact same time; "Lightning style, storm of tendrils." "Earth style, stone hand chasm."
The earth under Jasper suddenly vanished and a great wind forced him downwards before he could react at all, the hole was barely large enough for him to move down without hitting the sides every second metre of his fall, and almost instantly upon entering the chasm mud-clad-den hands came from all around and took hold of his person, and clothing, and pulled him further and further down the hole.
At the same time Nahkaro threw both of his hands forward, fingers outstretched, and from each digit shot a solitary bolt of lightning that curved downwards and into the hole to hit Jasper. The bolts were as any tazer and would have both numbing and paralysing affects on Jasper's entire body upon contact, not too mention pack quite the painful punch.
--
"I would hope not." Jong Jong said solemnly, at the same time his arms rose at his sides, drawing the tentacles both back to his side and upwards so that they rose to three times his own size.
"It's useless to attack the aura itself, aim for my body and don't hold back because I won't be." Jong Jong said quickly, then his arms fell and all four of the tentacles darted outwards towards John from different angles, all far faster than any normal human would be able to react to in time to matter.

*Tourivil went straight for the big hits. He could not afford to hold back at a time like this, consequences be damned. Alzur' shield again appeared as a square on his arm, and using his free hand he levitated a brick from a destroyed building, charged it heavily with magical energy, and with a great release fired it at Tao with great speed. *

With the help of the watery aura Leaf had found his own solid ground. He barely dodged the sandy creature moving his entire body right his skin was only milimeters apart from the sandy surface texture of the aggresor. In his head, it had startled him that the thing had spoken, even to call him a 'puny mortal'.
Leaf felt a flicker in his heart and the back of his head slowly going warm. He is about to summon his rafge once more...

The sand burrowing into the back of Balom's back continued to stream unnaturally through the air as steadily as could be considering there seemed to be no magical willing from Balom that called the sand to him, it looked for all appearances that the sand was coming through the air of it's own accord.
Without warning and in a burst of motion that Shino himself may have sweated to comprehend a thin spear made entirely of sand shot out of Balom's chest and straight towards Leaf's face, at the same time four tiny pellets made entirely of sand shot from his lower abdomen towards Leaf's chest as fast as any standard bullet.
As if Leaf were not hard pressed enough to dodge the two unforeseeable surprise attacks Balom threw his hands forward once more, seemingly having only one form of attack; that of a straight-forward hack and slash.

Faolin watched as Shang Tao's free hand lazily rose up to slam into the magical projectile that rocketed from beyond Faolin's sight, he was somewhat surprised that upon Tao smacking the piece of rubble it exploded outwards but quickly sussed it out to be most likely caused by Tao disturbing a well of magic stored within the projectile.
Tao did not even stumble, nor did he seem phased at all when a wall of flames appeared from yet another hidden avenue to engulf him and the entire plaza in which he stood. When the flames were gone and the embers but whimpering smolders mixed in the sandy wind Tao stood where he had stood before, utterly unfazed by both attacks.
Faolin himself raised his sword high into the air and called out towards Tao, hoping to get the man's attention whilst his two partner's got in some sneak-attacks, perhaps ones that actually had an affect as well; "Tao! Fate has made us enemies once again, this time my side shall come out on top, on mine own blade I swear it!"
Feeling and looking the fool Faolin charged the indestructible and vastly more skilled warrior, letting rip a battle-cry that may well be his last. In return Tao's body simply motioned with his free hand towards the sky, the streets on which Faolin charged exploded upwards, the dragon rider was lost in the explosion as Tao's body turned it's attention back towards Tourivil...

Achilles could sense the enemy's, but he knew not where to lay down his sword first. Shang Tao was his blessing-brother, no other would stand half a chance at besting him in physical contest, yet he was the furthest away and the most heavily opposed already. The demon of sand was the closest, though not by much, and would perhaps be the easiest to defeat for Achilles, but the time required to properly seal the damn thing, as to prevent it's almost instant reformation, would keep him out of the fight for quite a while and he wondered how things would go if that happened. The Xingese fighter had done a serious amount of damage in a tiny amount of time and it was clear that he would become a severe threat if he was not taken down before his full powers were revealed, yet Achilles wondered if he would be able to get close to the man without pushing himself beyond his physical limits, something he wished to keep as an absolute last resort. Lastly there was Nahkaro, better known to Achilles as General Mizashi, whom was causing Fenrir a huge deal of trouble and would no doubt be one of the easier of the bunch to defeat if it came to it, but the only problem with that was that...Well...Achilles didn't like to admit it really, but there was little glory in killing a man such as Nahkaro when beasts and Demigods roamed the field as they did now. Would men sing of his might for slaying a man such as Nahkaro? Most likely not, but slaying a demon had immortalized a thousand men in a thousand different battles, and bringing the mighty Shang Tao to his knees would surely win whoever achieved such a thing several lifetimes worth of glory.
And what was our friend Achilles, if not a glory-whore?

Shane rolled out of the way the moment he saw something exit M’s eyes. Damn that fire! As long as he kept away from it he’d be fine but knowing M he’d encase them in that Dome again. Shane knew how to get out of that one now. M began to sink as the earth below his feet grew spongy. Shae knew what M was going to do next and he had a counter-offensive prepared…

The fire ceased shooting from M's eyes, yet the trail remained in the air and began expanding outwards as it lit the very air itself on fire. The fire spread quickly, and there was little that would stop it's wrath from consuming all in it's path.
As he sunk into the ground M done what he could to slow his descent, though he never made any move to actually free himself from the sinking ground, and then he done two things at once; he tossed his sword at straight at Shane's chest with a flick of his wrist that made it travel straighter than any dart, and at the exact same time his eyes strained and focused as he met Shane's gaze and activated the mind-breaking powers of his Occulis Genkai, knowing full well that Shane would be forced to counter with his own and would therefore be unable to move his body in time to dodge the sword without letting his mind be dominated by M...Or at least that was the plan.

*Tourivil knew that it would only take one good attack from Tao to completely floor him, which was exactly what he wanted. This would force the little beast to actually fight, and that would bolster their strength greatly. Until then, he would have to keep attacking Tao himself, for all the good he expected it to do. With this in mind, He made an Alzur's shield with his off hand, and compressed it into a bolt, as through from a crossbow. This he shot at Tao, he had no question that it could burn a 2 inch diameter hole through a normal man, he did not even expect it to really hit Tao. *

Tao's free hand rose up, palm flattened towards the oncoming bolt. When the bolt impacted in the centre of Tao's palm his arm rocketed upwards and redirected it towards the sky harmlessly, he gritted his teeth at that time and muttered under his breath; "No good...No good."
There was a great swooshing noise as Sir Tillion summoned a torrent of water and threw it in the form of a rather wide stream right at Tao, it was wide enough that when it struck him it consumed him entirely, and even the Stygian curse done nothing to stop Tao being knocked off of his feet by the sheer force, especially since his body had turned around to face Tillion only an instant before the water impacted giving it no time to mount a defense of any kind.
Before the water even ceased pushing Tao forward Tillion sent the strongest electrical charge he could through the water, in the hopes that the water would amplify the electrical current to a point where it would cause at least some damage to Tao.
Huge flares of electricity flared off of the stream of water, and when the current reached Tao it was strong enough to cause any normal human being to burst into flames almost instantly, when it reached Tao however he let out a single yelp, and then dispersed in a puff of white smoke.
Sir Tillion's eyes widened at the exact same time that the real Tao appeared behind him and wrapped his left hand around the back of his old comrade's throat, his eyes closed at the same time as his hand began to crush Tillion's throat. Tao may not be able to control his body to any great extent, but he refused to watch as his own body killed his greatest friend against his will, it was just too shameful...

(I might have inadvertently said this was not the best forum I was ever in, and during the good times it certainly was, but I can tell you all the ‘Are Cooler’ series are the best threads I’ve ever been in. Not just because of the continually detailing world, the freedom of true sandbox or the awesome stories that Muer comes up with but through my interaction and camaraderie with other characters and roleplayers. In essence this series has been almost a miniature version of the best times of this forum and quite frankly I just can’t quit it so as long as there are other posters in this series and as long as it remains awesome I’ll be here trying to contribute my own comradeship. I may have quit the rest of the forum but I’ll be in the Are Cooler series, including future threads, till the end)
Shilack launched himself into the air a massive scythe of fire growing out of his sword which he brought to whip across Balom’s back. He hadn’t expected to see any Demons of such strength here except Balthazar and with Tao also on the field this battle was taking a dangerous turn.
***
They locked eyes for a second and, just as in their first battle, his eye won once again. Though if M had tried that before weakening his eyes with the use of his black flame technique he might not have been able to break it so quick. As it happens he only had enough time to move mostly out of the way. Shizano grazed his shoulder he passed leaving a deep cut.
“Argh!” Shane cried out dropping his Trident from his injured hand. Water swirled around his wound mending and repairing as fast as it could. Shane let his gaze fall on M again purposefully locking eyes. At the same time the earth M was encased in began to freeze. He would soon be held completely in place.
Shane also launched a mental attack at the same time. His mind split up into many pieces and rained across M’s mental defences seeping into any crevice, felling any crumbling wall.

(Good stuff.)
(Also, Brunty you poor forgetful fool...)
M's eyes focused in on Shane's, his body began fighting against the quickly hardening substance around him, but his mind felt only the slightest twinge of contact from Shane's before the boy was repelled in the same manner as Tourivil had been from Jason's: The boss' immense consciousness appeared from nowhere and surrounded every piece of Shane's mind with it own, forcing him back into his own mind without much resistance due to the sheer suddenness of his attack, after that the boss began the process of trying to utterly ravage Shane's mind with his own.
-
Balom was knocked off balanece by Shilack's surprise attack, the spear that extended from his chest shot into the ground instead of Leaf's chest, three of the bullets still managed to shoot out before Balom toppled forward ever so slightly, a great casm had been created by Shilack's attack but Balom let out no cry of pain, and sand was already filling in the hole and repairing the damage done.
Still, Balom was knocked off balence for the time being...

Shane was losing. His mind was crumpling. It looked rather hopeless. Then, suddenly, a presence flowed through his mind as calm as a lake and as vast as the ocean. It did not attack but rather wrapped itself around Shane’s mind in a Godly defence. It wasn’t strictly allowed but he’d watched his own wife die in front of his eyes once before and he wasn’t going to let the same happen to his only son.
Shane charged forward suddenly ramming his trident downward as if to spear the trapped M through the skull.

Shilack repeated his action this time cutting at the head. Then at the arms. He sped around Balom faster than the speed of his regeneration severing every limb; cutting the monster into pieces.

John pupils grew wide, and his body turned to smoke just as the tentacles hit. They passed through his body, thankfully harmlessly. He then teleported three metres left. He was just wasting time, time for Lao to get here. This was his fight after all, and Lao wanted to fight Jong Jong himself. Who was John to stop him from doing so.
_ _ _ _ _ _
"DIG" Jasper cried, and two things happened at once. One was his own body was sucked into the earth faster than it was originally, before being blasted out of the same hole with a rock shield that blocked the lightning.
The second thing that happened was that it also happened to Fenrir, who would possibly be less than pleased of being sucked into the earth, but would reappeared a metre to Jaspers right.

Shilack's blade made short work of Balom's limbs, easily slicing through the heavily condensed sand that made up it's body, and even Balom's impressive level of regeneration indeed could not keep up with the Ferrock's impressive speed.
The instant an arm was cut off it lost all form and was reduced to a mere cloud of sand, that cloud however was sucked back into Balom's chest nigh-instantaneously, meaning that as each arm was cut off Balom simply regained his lost mass, it was likewise when his head was severed, and his body seemed not to react at all to the loss of what should be a rather vital organ.
When Shilack had finished his job of severing all of Balom's arms and his head all that was left of the demon was a hefty torso, on which was a dozen or so large bumps of sand that had once been extremities, and a long pair of legs that held their ground regardless of the state of the upper half of it's being.
As Shilack's sword swooped down to hack away at Balom's legs, Balom's chest exploded outwards like a wave of sand and moved forward to engulf Shilack as he swung. The Ferrock was mid-swing and probably wouldn't be able to stop himself before the sand got a hold of him, and if it done that then the sand would quickly wrap itself around every part of Shilack it could and then begin to compress itself in an effort to crush him.
As the sand around Balom's chest became less and less, due to it shooting towards Shilack, what sand was left near the exact centre of his being began to become lighter and lighter though not in natural hue but in given shade, as if there were some sort of illumination beyond them.
-
Jong Jong grimaced as his body recalled the tentacles, his brow furrowed as he spoke; "Reducing your body to a magical smoke shape, smart move but it won't save you since I've figured it out. Dodge this next attack entirely, or all is lost."
Even as Jong Jong gave his warning his aura was forming a fifth tentacle behind him, the moment he finished his speech the tentacle shot backwards and punched the ground, propelling Jong Jong's body forward at insane speed. His right hand came up, index and middle finger extended towards John's chest, and as it done so the four tentacles shot forward again.
The tentacles would not have any affect on John's smoke form again, but of Jong Jong's arm even scrapped him then John's entire chest would feel like it had been dipped in lava, and he would lose his smoke form entirely.
Jong Jong was, in short, attempting to seal off John's ability to transmute his body to the extent required to make himself fully smokey. For most such a task would require a fair amount of preparation and a totally unaware victim, Jong Jong was not most...
-
Fenrir wasn't sure what happened, but one second the word was blue and full of pain and the next it was dark and cramped. He could feel his wounds bleeding, feel his vital fluids escaping his body from over a dozen tiny holes and a hundred different scrapes and cuts he had acquired over the course of the battle. His chest plate was so badly dented and banged that it was crushing his ribcage more than protecting it now, it had saved him a few times during the battle but it's usefulness had run out and it was just a hindrance.
Just as Fenrir was beginning to wonder if this was actually some realm of pre-death he felt momentum take hold of his body once again and then his eyes were stung shut by a blinding light, he was plopped back in the open air, on solid ground, like a freshly caught Trout. He lay there, clutching at his multiple wounds helplessly, fighting for every breath and thankful for them as well....
-
"Good." Nahkaro said when Jasper escaped his attack, and saved Fenrir at the same time, however before Jasper could touch ground again Nahkaro had made another hand sign and called out; "Wind style, Remora air cutter!"
Taking a deep breath Nahkaro violently expelled a huge blast of air towards Jasper, as it traveled towards him the air became more and more turbulent, by the time it his Jasper's stone-shield it would be strong enough to rip a house up from it's foundations, and therefore far strong enough to blast the shield backwards and further into the sky, with Jasper still attached was the plan.
-
At the sudden appearance of Godly intervention the boss's mind retreated instantly, clearly not wanting to tangle with the mental force of a God no matter the potential prize.
Moments before Shane's trident speared him through the face M swirled into his eye, or at least began the process of doing so, he would have enough time to do so easily unless Shane pulled some sort of eye-blocking trick(Unsure if he could do that or not so I thought I'd leave that open to your discretion.)
If M did indeed teleport out of the way, he would reappear behind Shane just as the boy's strike hit the ground where M had been only a moment before, he would waste no time in dousing Shane's back in a torrent of black fire.
-
A trio of Threllos had appeared at the site of M and Shane's battle only moments after M's first blast of black fire, they appeared to be summoning large amounts of iron filings to drop upon the fire to suppress it under sheer weight, and they were having some luck at it as well, though the process was slow...

saved by the stranger Leaf managed to barely escape with his life from the sandy creature's attacks. Leaf moved a bit faster as he had felt his heart burst, but the pellets still managed to hit him. The sandy pullets explodedagainst his skin and flesh, making three ugly red holes on his chest. bits of blood and skin were in the air, the watery aura is doing what it can to heal the injured man and his blood seeping wound.
He was knocked back from the blast of the pellet shot and a bit further away from the sandy creature. The watery aura took care of the healing but it wont last too long in its regular form since the watery and drop-like movements are slowly starting flicker like fire. Leaf is attempting to fuse the fiery and watery aura together. He knows that this satient being is more than just your regular boss.

Goddammit. *Tourivil muttered to himself as he jogged over to where Tao had been. He began frantically looking around, but after a moment, he spotted Tao giving Tillion a good squeezing. More than likely he was too late, but he still had to try. With a flick of his hand, and a grunt, he fired a rather long and sharp looking stake of blood at Tao's back. *

Tao looked over his shoulder as the stake of blood shattered against his back, not lessening but not increasing his already choking grip on Tillion's throat. Tao's eyes flashed golden for an instant, and at the same time Tourivil was hit square in the chest by a burst of air strong enough to uproot an oak tree.
Tao's head was half turned back to face Sir Tillion when he felt a sudden iron-grip around his own ankles, before he could cast his eyes downwards Tao was dragged right under the earth, cracking it and sending up a dozens large chunks of earth, as he was dragged under Tao lost his grip on Tillion and the Elf shot backwards away from his quickly vanishing friend.
As Tao fell under the earth Faolin rose, when only Tao's head was above the earth Faolin stood over him with the tip of his sword pressed against Tao's forehead. Breathing heavily Faolin grimaced; "Not that I could cut you, but I suggest you stay put anyway Tao."
"Would that I could." Tao said with remorse, and then Faolin, and the earth all around him for at least ten feet in every direction, were sent flying backwards as a semicircle of magical force shot out of Shang Tao's body, freeing him from the earth and creating a half-dome of ruined earth in the middle of the streets of Unu'keth, which wasn't fairing too well in this fight thus far.

Lord Ostagar sneered as another batch of desertmen were teleported off by his own personal mages, they were being sent to Springvale, his own grand keep, where they would be far safer than they are in this warzone of a city. Most of the desert people weren't coming willingly, but Lord Ostagar cared not what these savages wanted for themselves, they may well yet prove useful if Sardo won this battle, no doubt this 'Duke' of theirs would be most grateful to Lord Ostagar for saving his peoples.
His men were all around Unu'keth, at least two dozen mages doing their best to get every last desert-dweller to the safety of Springvale. He had told them that no matter what happened they were not to interfere with the battle against Shang Tao, their efforts would be wasted and the less attention they gathered to themselves the better for their cause.
He would soon be having himself teleported off home, once he was sure his men were properly organized to handle themselves once he was gone...
