Faolin was bombarded by the earth and sent astray, thus the explosion missed him, but the explosion from below that saved him wasn't exactly pleasant either...

-

The stream of pure heat stopped suddenly and began building up and up as if it were working against a wall of invisible steel, without seeming to notice the ground-based attack Jet whirled around with super-speed and blocked Jasper's strike with the flat of Takesaka.

Tamesaka would, even with this level of contact, drain the magic from any enchantments placed upon the sword rather quickly. Every time it made contact with any enchanted item it would drain it as if it were a living being until the enchantment could no longer contain itself and was destroyed.

Auron was behind Jasper in an instant, stabbing forward with Iza with a precise aim for Jasper's spine. Fenrir tried to move to intercept the attack but he would not be quick enough to do it, Jasper would have to entirely avoid the swing by Iza himself.

If Jasper ceased pushing down on Jet's sword then Jet would move forward with a horizontal slash, and then continue to hound Jasper with attack after attack in quick succession. If Auron's sword even grazed Jasper then the fight was over, and he was quick enough to change the course of his thrust to account of any regular movement made by Jasper to avoid his strike.

Jaspers sword was not his enchanted one, just a plain sword. He swung his left arm out, still keeping his right arm forcing the sword down on Jet, and on his left arm formed a shield. On the shield was a lightning bolt, and it was a kite design, similar to the templar shield. Jasper, however, held it along it's length. It's bottom edge was extremely sharp.

The shield would block the attack, but would also redirect it to Aurons left, infront of Jasper.

*The desertmen were stopped mid air as they flew towards Tourivil. The little beast was having none of it. It would take significant more than that to get to Tourivil.

Tourivil in the mean time stopped the pyramid, but not before having it heat to the point where it melted even the fanciest of swords at it center. *

Lucky Otaru wasn't an overly fancy sword, just a well put together one. It's surface glistened as the first layer or so of it's metal surface melted away, creating a bubbly texture on the blade's surface, but that was as far as the heat's affect was felt. It was clear that whatever Otaru was made of, or whatever was keeping it together, was far too tough to be taken out by such rudimentary means.

Stopping his back-charge when he saw the pyramid cease moving Jason allowed himself a tiny, solemn smile as he brought his palms together; "The power lives not in the man it seems, but in the beast..."

Jason stood perfectly still as he prepared his next attack, this one wouldn't be on the pathetic scale of attacks he had been using thus far. It was evident that his opponents were above simple parlour trick level explosions...

-

Auron's sword glinted off of Jasper's shield as the man had intended it to, what Jasper hadn't expected however was Auron thrusting downwards when his sword was redirected, twisting his body as he done so he brought his leg up and brought the sole of his foot down on the back of Jasper's head as he spun around, dropping Tamesaka as he done so.

Auron danced backwards as Fenrir came at him swinging an axe in long swooping slice after slice, trying to take Auron out of the game with one cut deep enough to slow him down just that necessary amount.

Jet frowned and shook his head ever so slightly; "Young, too young...Leave boy-" Tamesaka's edge suddenly became a blinding shade of blue as the sword's own magical reserves were used to create a super-sharp edge. Lacking any magical enchantments Jasper's sword was snapped clean in half when Jet turned his sword around so that his sword and Jasper's sword were now edge on edge, and when Jasper's sword was no longer blocking his path Jet slashed with his sword, aiming for Jasper's throat

"Whilst you still can." He managed to finish as his body tried to cut Jasper's head clean off, Jet seemed ashamed when he spoke those final words, and also deeply sorry for what he knew he would end up doing to this boy, and many others, if his forced-enemy did not flee immediately..

Stumbling forwards, Jasper turned around, so that Jets attack would hit his shield, which wouldn't break. Once it had hit, his falling momentum would allow him to roll onto his back, where he would summon his trident.

*As soon as his opponent was spotted standing perfectly still, Tourivil dropped his current project, and with great speed fired off a set of new attacks. He took the energy from the blood which still coursed through his veins, and extracted the magical energies from it. He drew a ring perhaps 2 feet in diameter in the air in front of him with his finger, and a ring of light appeared there. The space inside this ring was rapidly filled with light, and it grew brighter and brighter. Then, without any warning, it fire.

A massive beam of molten sulfur shot forth from the ring, and raced forward at unprecedented speeds, heading straight for Jason. Tourivil was focusing all of his attention on this, so the sulfur would keep coming, and burn through just about anything it encountered. *

Jason was no fool, he knew that anything he threw up to block that attack would be disintegrated almost instantly, his only chance of survival was to dodge the attack. Luckily for him he was fast on his feet, not quite Shino fast, but not that far behind either.

Putting his weight forward and onto his feet for only a second Jason shot to the right quicker than any viper could dream of moving, he didn't vanish entirely as Shino could, but he did seem to blur as he moved and following him with the bare eye was somewhat difficult.

When he came to a stop, in the middle of another group of Sardonians he clapped his hands together and released all of the energy he had gathered up. The attack was nowhere near on the scale he had planned, but it was still a fair attack and his opponent was clearly upping his game.

The sound from Jason's palms clapping together traveled singularly towards Tourivil, in the form of a directed soundwave instead of the normal king, though it was still as invisible and still as quick moving. When the sound reached Tourivil he would indeed hear just a normal clapping noise, but in the very same instant he heard the clapping noise the soundwaves would react with the particles in the air, converting every last molecule held in the air around Tourivil into two substances; 90 percent of the makeup of the air was transformed into pure Francium, the other ten percent was reduced to moisture, and then the two substances were swirled together. Explosions were Jason's specialty, and Francium was just about the most explosive thing around, even then it wasn't around very much when you disclosed magical sources.

Several generations ago Jason's family had found a single deposit of Francium, only several pounds of the substance was extracted and no further deposits have ever been found again. Upon discovering Francium's delicate nature, as well as it's relatively small lifespan, his family quickly found a way to reproduce it on a mass scale magically to a stunning quality. Since then the very strongest and most trusted of Jason's family had been studying Francium and it's possible uses in combat, as well as safe ways to deploy it into a battle without using up too much magic, since producing even a single gram was quite a draining task. Little progress had been made by the family when Jason discovered the research facility, after the night he killed his entire family, but Jason had came at the idea from a whole knew angle and had cracked the secret to incorporating it into his explosions. That being said it wasn't his commonplace method for causing explosions, mostly because it the explosions it caused were incredibly violent and caused quite a bit of damage to the surrounding area even when used in relatively small doses compared to other chemicals, and partly so that his enemies never expected such a scale of explosion when he pulled it out.

The chemical reaction happened in .00001 of a second and so it would have been nigh-impossible for Tourivil to add any layers of shielding that he already hadn't added before the attack had been launched.

To put it simply the air around Tourivil exploded very, very violently and with enough force to blow a sizable crater in the ground by his feet.

-

Jet's sword bounced off Jasper's shield as intended, but when Jet saw that his attack had failed he blinked a new one into existence.

In the form of a vortex of fire ripping into existence right under Jasper's feet, and under the section of earth he was falling/rolling towards. The ground itself was gone for quite a few feet underneath the initial layer of fire, replaced by a column of roaring flames.

After having dealt with the fiery snake the fiery green humanoid had charged against the incoming horde of sickly soldiers of the Abominations. Running several meters a time with every step, the fiery humanoid ran on i's fours and begun to thrust one of its arms out to ram through the hordes of Abominations. Upon touching the corpse would burn into cinders within seconds.

It's annoying enough that it has to face hundreds- if not thousands of Abominations and their strangely improved armour and strength. So, after impaling a few dozen it stopped running with its incredible speed and rested on all fours. Luminous shining white eyes looked around itself as he saw the oncoming horde. Suddenly its body blew up into a sphere, It looked like it was about to blow however it seemed to grin to itself as it saw the on coming horde, readying their weapons and magical spells.

It opened its mouth.

An overwhelming beam of hot white energy exploded straight forward out of its mouth. The Beam had the power to decimate an entire town within a moments time. The Abominations that were trapped in its light soon had vanished as if they had never existed. The sand sad hardened and melted, blown away into the air too and the air became ever more embittering with the painful heat.

The fiery humanoid stood alone in front of a disgusting dark brown, blackish earthly scar, as if a rock from the sky had fell upon the earth and scraped its skin. It gave out it's inhuman cry as it soon vanished. Leaf is back again, in control of himself and gaping for air as he looked out to the scar he had made in his primitive form. His brother is right. Every human being hides a dark and savage nature within himself that can be compared to a caveman-if not a cannibal.

Leaf grabbed the handles of his two short swords just in case something else were to happen. He had just obliberated An army of Abominations with his breath, You could see him breathing in and out, his chest and belly sucking themselves in back and forth as he tries to breath some air within himself after that troublesome killer move. He walked back toward his army to help finish off the stragglers.

°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°

The last Abomination falls onto the ground when Leaf arrived in the last minute. The men resassembled and came close to their commanding officer and waited in the midst of the agonizing heat. Thier are battles going on else where, such as the Orks, but they seem to handle themselves prettty well on the battlefield and Leaf's small force deserves a break. Leaf has looks to his sides wondering to himself...

what comes next?

*The stream of sulfur stopped with the explosion, and for a moment, all was still. The smoke and dust swirled in the air where Tourivil had been standing before the explosion. A light breeze came through, and blew it away, revealing a sizable crater, but no Tourivil. All was silent, then a small bell rang. Tourivil's hand and armguard came into view, and the elf pulled himself out of the hole. His shining armor was destroyed, and fell off his in chunks. Most of the skin had been burnt from his left arm, face, and torso. He was coated in soot and dirt, blood flowed freely from a hundred wounds, and what skin was not missing was covered in third degree burns.

But he was alive, and he was very, very angry. Blood dripped from his lip-less mouth as he opened it, and let out a ragged roar. He flung up his arms, and there was a bright flash of light as he threw himself into a mental attack on Jason. If it was successful, and it very likely would be as Tourivil was rather good at this sort of thing and rather pumped up, he would assume control of at least part of Jason's brain, and most likely tear him apart from the inside. *

Jason had been, at the moment of his death, in his early hundreds, and had lived at a time when mental combat was still as common as magical, so it wasn't too surprising that he had built up quite the mental defense. That being said it was never his strongest aspect and he was rarely forced to employ it in a battle, and Tourivil's sheer bluntness and overwhelming mental might with his attack took Jason completely off guard, after only a moment of struggle Tourivil gained control over Jason's mind.

The inside of his mind would seem, for the most part, to be pretty average considering his age and the fact he had been brought back from the dead. That being said Tourivil didn't have much time at all to search Jason's thoughts, or to control his body, before a counter strike was launched through their newly forged mental link.

Tourivil would know instantly that this mental attack did not come from Jason, it felt entirely different, in fact it didn't even feel remotely human. It were as if a void of darkness had taken form and was pushing back against Tourivil's mind like a great surge of water, or a thick swarm of locusts feasting upon his mind as like a plague. It was all encompassing, malevolent in nature, and unnaturally strong.

Upon coming into contact with the mental force Tourivil would be able to vaguely sense it's point of origin, many many miles to the west, near the western edge of Sardo. Fighting mentally from such a distance should be impossible for most beings, mortals certainly, but the dark entity that was now defending Jason's mind, and attacking Tourivil's, didn't even seem to be struggling as it done so. Whoever, or whatever, it was it's mental presence was staggering, comparable to that of even Balthazaar.

His mind playing host to the mental struggle momentarily stunned Jason's physical body...

There was something wrong. All of his instincts had been screaming at him to protect Tourival; to help Tourival; but something was wrong. He could not make himself do it. In fact his very armour was merging back into himself. He was powering down. He couldn’t control anything yet he did not feel angry or panicked. He felt shocked and more than a little remorseful.

“Tears,” Brunnex remarked hand on face. His hand had moved to the wetness of his cheek before he could even think about it. Why was he crying?

That was when he felt it. A sharp pain between his shoulder blades. Heavy metal entering his body. He fell to his knees. What was happening? It was all so confusing. It was all so quick. He couldn’t understand.

He fell to the ground as the intruder was removed. He turned as he fell looking upward now. That was when he saw him; his killer; and that was when he understood. “We’re even.” Brunnex stated devoid of anger or even sadness. He just said it as if he had just paid him back an everyday favour.

There were no blue sparks. No healing; no magic; no aid and Brunnex wasn’t even angry that he was practically dead. Just confused and a tad relieved. On second thoughts he also felt a little awed by the power and presence of the dark magic that inhabited the green dagger that had made it’s ultimatum between his shoulder blades.

Uncle?

***

Shane had just cleared away a thick patch of abominable mutants when he had seen the armoured man. Brunnex, obviously, for he had seen such armour in the Arena not so many months ago. He had tried to ignore the man; even tried to set off in a different direction through the horde; but something had come about him then. Rage; he had never felt such rage in his life before now; and bloodlust.

Before he could even master his thought he had taken a few hesitant steps toward him. The abominations seemed to move away of their own accord clearing a path straight toward him. He shook his head then to clear his thoughts. He did not; could not; stop. He did not even realise that he was continuing to move or even the subtle drawing of the malevolent dagger assigned to him by the mysterious desertman.

‘He couldn’t do this, he told himself, ‘it was crazy. ‘What was the point? Vengeance would solve nothing.

‘Would it make you feel better? A tiny voice inside his head seemed to ask. Brunnex hadn’t moved in a while though he didn’t seem aware of Shane’s approaching presence.

‘Of course it would. He had to answer. Brunnex armour seemed to be disengaging. The man was almost fully human looking again.

‘Just do it then. Why not? The voice tossed back. Brunnex was full human. Even the crystal was gone. Everyone around were too busy in their own battles to notice. Shane raised the dagger high in the air.

‘Because… because of Fen. He wouldn’t… I need to… Be… Like him. He seemed to have trouble forming the thought. His mind was clouded and his actions no longer seemed entirely his own.

Too late. The dagger struck. Shane was pulled out of his mind in that instant to face complete and utter reality. He felt the green metal sink into his uncle’s flesh. The green gem glowed for a single second and the dagger shifted in his hands. Suddenly the metal retracts into his palm. It is done in one quick and searingly painful movement and leaves a small, green inscription on his right palm reading; W&J.

He doesn’t have time to process the pain as he instinctively drops down on one knee to catch the falling man. He has turned, his Uncle, as he fell and looks straight up at Shane now his confused expression masked; his teary eyes hidden behind goggles but he can see his Uncle’s mouth open and Shane knows a torrent of abuse is soon to follow but instead a simple “We’re even” is croaked carried in his last breath.

His eyes close; Brunnex’ eyes close; his Uncle’s eyes close. “Uncle?” Shane manages to say. He cannot think of anything else to say. There is nothing to say. It is done. He has murdered his Uncle in cold blood. He has destroyed all hopes; all dreams. He has robbed this world of a fantastic, if mislaid, man. He has murdered his very own Uncle. It hits Shane like a thousand tons of brick. It hits him squarely and securely in the face.

“No! Uncle, it’s not even. We’re not. It’s unfair. You killed my... But then you… No… No…” Shane ‘s forehead rests on Brunnex’s chest as he weeps into that purple Gi his favourite Uncle always used to wear…

***

Far, far above the battling below a tanned figure lies upon a cloud watching the fight below with some interest. How he can see anything from all the way up there is anyone’s guess but watch he does and he seems to make the appropriate ah’s and ooh’s as the battle plays out.

As Shane kills Brunnex with the very dagger the man had given him not so long ago he lets out a small snicker. “One more for the Dark Side.” He remarks proudly to himself a curvaceous smile spreading across his lips. “Evil Shane shall be the strongest and last thing this world shall behold.”

He stands and begins to laugh. "Mwuhahaha! Mwuhahahahahahahaha-woah!" He laughs so hard he almost falls of the cloud. "Phew, that was close."

Balthazaar yowled in pain as the glyph seared itself onto the vast majority of his chest, it's four point design felt like a hot poker had just been driven through every inch of his chest, and even for Balthazaar that would hurt like hell, as Balthazaar tensed in pain Mason sped backwards propelled by magic.

Mason's robes were ragged and ruined, burned partly and missing just as much, his old half-crippled body was mostly bear to see, caked in blood and sweat it was not a pretty sight to see the least. His face was contorted in a mix of concentration, pain, and tiredness and it was clear that he was beginning to reach his limit, or coming somewhat close to it anyway. Struggling greatly Mason smiled slightly, a few deep breathes and failed attempts later he said; "That's that sorted...Evens the field a bit by my reckoning."

When the pain subsided Balthazaar was left staring dumbstruck at the new tattoo on his shirtless top, if he was not the Alpha Demon of a ruin-specializing race then he surely would never have been able to work out what this ruin done, but that was not the case. That being said knowing what this ruin done did not make Balthazaar feel any better, in fact it felt Balthazaar feel something he had so rarely felt in his lifetime; a modicum of fear.

The Glyph was built on several layers, the first of which was the one that had emitted the powerful painful blast upon placement, that wasn't necessary for it's structure but hey it always helped to hurt your foe.

The second layer was the one that was the one that impressed Balthazaar the most, and the one that struck that strange chord of fear deep within him also. The vast majority of the glyph was taken up by this layer, but it's resulting affect was worth a thousand times more space in this sort of situation. In basic terms when this glyph was placed upon a spiritual being using a mortal form, said spiritual being could not return to it's true form until this glyph was removed or destroyed. Being stuck inside a mortal body was an immensely terrifying prospect for an immortal entity almost every time such a thing was done, and it actually lessened their magical powers greatly as well since they could not draw any energy from their spiritual form even if they wanted to.

The next two layers of the glyph are what made the entire thing a jawdropping little structure. The first was a symbol of permanence, which meant that the glyph could not be destroyed by any means, removal by the caster was the only method. The second symbol was somewhat overkill, but it was a damn good failsafe if Balthazaar somehow got passed the permanence symbol; a seal of rapid renewal, meaning that if the glyph was damaged even the tiniest amount it would repair itself using the magical energy of the one it is placed on. Both of these were symbolic glyphs of the very highest order, even the vast majority of Balthazaar's race could not employ them in combat, and few could even do it outwith combat.

Mason had found a way to not only make Balthazaar feel fear, a feat even Thanatos failed, but also a method to effectively cut him off of the vast majority of his power, as well as accessing his true form. Not only that but he had done so so perfectly that the only way to get rid of the seal now that it was placed was by his own will, nothing Balthazaar could do would have any affect close to even weakening it.

Balthazaar's eyes grew harder than stone, and any hint of a playful smile vanished from his face. Clenching his fists he began gathering a huge amount of magic in the air around him for a spell that would kill this mortal stone cold dead for sure, to give himself the necessary time to prepare he tried to distract Mason with some idle chatter; "That won't save you mortal, not by a long shot. I may not be able to transcend to my true form for the time being, which I will find a way around eventually by the way, but I can sense that the gap between our remaining magic levels is growing with every passing second, and I am the one coming out on top.

You are pretty strong I'll give you that, but you never really stood a chance against me, not truly. I am Balthazaar, father of Elves and Demonkin alike, forebear of time and master of the Glyph, worldeater and doomswayer, I am beyond your understanding and I have grown tired of this battle now. May your passing be more permanent this time."

Mason's thin smile grew ever so slightly as he turned his right palm into the air, a small ball of blue magic appeared in it as he struggled to speak once more; "You think I cannot sense my own power demon?...I know you are much...Much stronger than I still, but...I also know the secret of your strength now, and...I know your weakness also!"

Moving faster than light itself Mason appeared in front of Balthazaar, and in the same movement thrust his right hand forward with the ball of magic primed for Balthazaar's chest. When the magical ball came into contact with Balthazaar it was sucked right into his chest, Mason's right hand continued right through Balthazaar as if he were a ghost, but when it appeared out of the other side his hand was clenched tight around the throat of a rapidly forming humanoid figure, and Balthazaar's eyes were wide open and his mouth was tight as he fought against the pain.

Propelling himself forward, and thus ripping the humanoid entirely out of Balthazaar's body as he held into it's throat, and far behind Balthazaar before he had a chance to counter strike. When he had came to a stop once again he dropped the almost fully formed being at his feet and stared down at it, standing up straight and squaring his shoulders Mason did his best to sound still at his peak of power when he addressed the being; "I am Mason, and I have given you your freedom once more, you shall use it to serve me. Do you understand?"

As the last of the being formed it gave it's reply, a cackle that sounded like a sandstorm raging against a great mountain, it was both deafening and mocking at the same time. Opening all four of his semi-lunar eyes for the first time the being nearly blinded Mason with their yellow brilliance; "I am no man's pet mortal!"

Mason was thrown back violently and dragged across the ground when he hit it, a force so primal and so strong that he could do nothing to shake it's hold on him.

As Mason was dragged off Balthazaar regained his composure and turned to see the being standing to it's full, daunting, height of twelve foot, his face paled slightly as he realized what Mason had just done. Steeling himself Balthazaar dipped his head at the being, which seemed to be eyeing him up at the moment; "Welcome back to the outside world...Balom."

"You shall have your day worldeater, mark my words!" Balom shouted with a voice similiar to his laugh, but with less of the mountainous effect and just the pure undiluted sound of a sandstorm, which actually made him very hard to understand if you could believe it.

Balom vanished from the reality, ripping his way through the barrier that barred the way to the mortal world, and to Sardo...

-

The air before Leaf seemed to blur for a moment, and then a spiral of sand began growing out of a small space in the air, becoming larger and larger every passing milisecond, before Leaf could say 'what the hell' the spiral was so large that a creature of great size simply stepped through it as if it were a door, the spiral died down a moment later.

The creature was twelve feet tall and a sandstone yellow in color. It's head was elongated near the jaw, sort of like a horse's except that jagged spikes ran all the way along it's jawline and it was not quite so well rounded. The back of it's head was crowned by a nestle of horns or spikes of varying sizes, two large ones grew near either side of very centre and grew outwards for half a foot before beginning to curl in on themselves. It's eyes were near the centre of it's head, and made a box formation slightly but they were spaced out quite well. They were like glowing slits of blinding evil, and the seemed to behold the world before them with a sinister glee. It lacked any form of mouth of earholes, as well as a nose and other features of a humanoid face, so how it communicated would be of great interest to any budding biologist.

It's huge barrel chest was ridged and as thick as the trunk of a great oak, six arms poke out of the side of the chest at each side, giving it a total of twelve huge arms that ended in hands more akin to talon-ed claws than actual hands. From it's back sprouted what appeared to be a basic bone structure for some sort of rudimentary wings, but they lacked any sort of membrane spanning between the thin bones sticking out of the long curving bone that made-up the backbone of the wings.

It lacked any known form of genitalia between it's long powerful legs, a series of small spikes stuck out the outside edge of both of it's legs, and it's feet ended on yet another set of sandstone spikes.

In full examination the being that now stood staring at Leaf was hideously alien to anything any mortal could ever have seen before, it's shape was clearly designed for murder and destruction and it was undeniably a breed unseen by Sardonian eyes or known by their basic lore. Simply standing near the beast gave filled one with a sense of dread and impending doom, and it's magical pool felt like a stagnant pool of murky ominous power.

The creature created a cry in the air itself, a soul-shattering screech that broke the eardrums of those unfortunate enough to be anywhere near it, those further away would still be wounded by the mere sound of it. A moment later the creature charged towards Leaf, bearing down on him like some ancient titan of nightmare, it's every step shook the earth and as it approached the feeling of dread only grew more and more...

*Briefly, Tourivil felt as though he was in control of his opponent, and he was. he began following plan A for quick dispatch, pump fluids into the sensitive parts of the brain until they popped. This was going along quite nicely until whatever it was that controlled these undead beasts seemed to notice him, and launched a counter attack.

Tourivil had spent hours writhing at the feet of strange, attempting to hold back mental attacks more foul then the last. This was not an unfamiliar situation. When faced against a bulky mental force like this, he knew what to do. He armored his own mind with his will power, and did not attempt to meet the attack head on, instead he launch poking needle like attacks into Jasper's mind, penetrating the dark swarm just enough to keep the fluids heading to the brain, and retreating his attacks rapidly, before heading in again. It was the mental equivalent of guerrilla warfare. *

*Upon Brunnex's death, he most likely would have felt a whooshing sensation, as though he was being lifted through the air, or perhaps it was soil, it was hard to tell. It hardly mattered, as with what could only be described as the flick of a switch, his consciousness was turned off. Seconds, or was it years, passed, and the switch was flipped back. Brunnex would find himself immersed in a thick red jelly, strapped to a table underneath this fluid. Above the horizontal tank were at least two or three creatures that all seemed to be Strange, scuttling about on their spider like legs made of smoke and magic. One of them looked down into the tank, and spoke directly into his mind. *

I make the reconstruction process painful, so that you might avoid death as much as possible. I do not like the idea of wasting time rebuilding you every few moments.

*Painful it was. For one, it seemed to take weeks, and it seemed as though the fluid was drowning poor Brunnex the entire time. The first step of the process could only be described as deconstruction. Flesh was burned off wherever the strange's did not want it, limbs were removed, as was most of the head and many internal organs. When it seemed they had worked him down to about half a skeleton, a brain, and a few other choice parts, they began to rebuilding. Most of Brunnex's bones were replaced with silver bars which appeared to be the same material as Tourivil's head piece. His skull and rib cage were made to grow thicker, and then reinforced with the silver. Muscles laced with magical amplification stones and grown from dragons were brought in, and attached to the muscles by a small group of Strange working around the clock. They installed an entirely new nervous system with a reinforced spine, pain would be nothing more than a dull sensation to Brunnex, simply telling him that something was wrong. Finally, the wrapped the whole thing in a dark olive skin, and did the detail work of the face, ears, and hair.

When it was done, Brunnex was pulled from the tank, and shown himself in a mirror. He was now an elf for one, and built like a brick shithouse. But other than being rather tall and muscular, he was an ordinary elf with a shock of red hair on his head. His face was wide, and square jawed. Handsome in a rugged way, would look good with a beard. Strange soon explained this to him. *

I decided to make you into a semi-normal humanoid. You will get some weird looks, but you will not be outright reviled. Should help you get used to the idea of the body as a shell. Perhaps next time I will give you something less traditional, yes? *The Strange let out a metallic laugh, and left Brunnex alone in the room he had been rebuilt in to acclimate. There was the tank, a loaf of bread on a table, a few chairs, a bed, and a rather large selection of blunt and bladed instruments. *

Using the air around him, Jasper forced a hole in the coloumn of fire, and jumped through it. Once he reached the other side, he stood there and readied himself.

A voice rang through the vicinity though, and it spoke solely to Jet, although those surrounding him could hear it, even Jasper. "Jet, it was you who won the battle at my Fort, you who is the one of the two main weapons in this army, yet is is also you who is allowed control over your emotions. Fight this contol over your body, and revenge the death of Toun." It was Johns voice, and while he wasn't there, it would sound as if he was right next to Jet.

"Jasper, pull away now, lest you be killed. Jet is an adversary much too strong for you. Toun was greater than you, and he was one of the few who had a chance."

Jasper cursed John, and sent Jets column of fire towards Jet, before Teleporting away from Jet. He knew it was true, so he would help the sardonian army.

(Jason vs Faolin and Strange battle frozen until proper response is given by Strange.)

Jet slashed the flames in half with Tamesaka, ripping the magic out of it as he done so. He smiled slightly when Jasper vanished, and it was a true smile not a sinister or evil one at all. He was happy that the lad had escaped, he just hoped his body didn't work too hard to find him again.

"Would that I could." Jet replied to John, sounding stronger than he was even a few seconds ago, and that was because he was. With every passing second Jet was becoming stronger and stronger, if left unattended he could become the major threat of the battlefield once again, but if he were attacked now then a powerful foe he would be, but a beatable one.

Jet gave a great sigh as his arm moved Tamesaka through the air, creating a great surge of fire that consumed many dozens of Sardonian soldiers at once...

-

Auron felt something new appear on the battlefield, something had not anticipated. It was a staggering presence so clearly malevolent in nature that it could only be a demon of some kind, and a rather powerful one at that. He hoped that Balthazaar hadn't called in the troops, that could be very bad indeed for his side, then again so long as his plans were carried out he didn't care at all about the battle itself.

He could not let this go unattended, it was simply too much of a threat to be left alone.

Ducking under a high sweep from Fenrir's spear Auron slammed both of his hands into the ground, then once more he was on his feet and fighting his brother as yet another Fallen joined the fray...

-

The orders were clear in his head, and that was the only thing that was in his head; "Kill all those that bar your way, destroy the demon."

He had been summoned just a little ways off of his master, but upon sensing the nearest power level of some threat his body had acted on it's own and had moved towards it. Swirling into his eye once more as he had done in life had been the first thing he had done upon coming back into this world, but it would certainly not be the last.

Appearing silently behind a youth sprawling over a corpse he drew the plain sword on his hip and thrust forward, looking to impale the boy's spine before he even knew he was there...

(I suggest someone engage Jet soon, he's only going to get stronger the longer he's left alone.)

The sound of that being had caught Leaf by surprise.

But he regained his sense when the creature came running towards him, he could even feel the heavy foot steps of this mad being on unstable sandy earth. Leaf's rage or 'magical energy' had pretty much emptied after that last attack he had done on the army of Abominations, meaning he would have to wait several minutes before he can go in his fiery mode again. Judging by its outer appearance, This unknown being cannot be underestimated at all.

Leaf felt vulnerable. A different green aura surrounded him. Imitating images of levitating stone, rocks, pebbles and even groups of irregular grains of sands. His defence went up obviously. He slowly slid his swords out from the waist side of his belts and drew them close to his chest. One arm is more forward while the other is close to his body to act as means for protection.

How hard is this going to be? Leaf had asked himself.

Testing the opponent is in some cases necessary.

Since Leaf had never seen such a creature or being ever, his only resolve is to test it and see his advantages and disadvantages. He swallowed as he watched the thing come closer.

Balthazaar gave a roar mightier than the death roar of the demon he had just thrust a spear into, using the spear as a conduit to force an overabundance of magical energy into the demon's body, causing it to explode rather violently covering a huge area of land in its guts, and creating mountainous columns of wherever one of its ribs or back bones landed. That thing had been big, bigger than even the Alpha, and Balthazaar was pretty darn sure that it was only a second or third generation demon of its kind, meaning it had been hellishly strong and ancient to boot.

*Mason had indeed found the weakness of Balthazaar, and since freeing Balom he had exploited it a further three times with varying effectiveness. The second time he had free'd a water nymph with barely enough power to kill a mortal man, the third a demon of about average power, and the results of the fourth had taken Balthazaar a very large amount of his magic to defeat. One demon at a time Mason was slowly killing Balthazaar, and he was using barely any magic in doing so.

After spending time reflecting, during their battle, what exactly Balthazaar was Mason had found what may be his only weakness, and yet it was his greatest strength as well. Balthazaar was, at his very core, a parasitic demon and it was not his own strength that he used so well, but rather the strength of the countless demons he had consumed over the eons.

In lore, Mason had read, Balthazaar went by more names than there are dimensions, but one had always stuck with Mason because of it's implications, 'worldeater', after some research Mason found the source of this name, and in doing so he had also found the source of Balthazaar's power.

Amongst demonkind there were very, very, few that had the innate ability to consume other demons and gain their power, even Alphas did not not always possess this ability, Balthazaar did however, and he had grown so very powerful due to it. Many years ago, long before the creation of the mortal world even, Demons realized that Balthazaar had eaten thousands of their kin already and dubbed him 'worldeater' as a sign of respect for his power, but also because they truly feared that one day he would consume them all, and then the worlds themselves. Later on, when Balthazaar had left the life of battle behind, the demons lost that fear for the most part, but his name is still somewhat comparable to that of the end of the world for Demonkind.

So, taking into consideration his ability to consume other demons, and the sheer amount he must have consumed to have earned his moniker, Mason realized that if he somehow managed to free even a few of the Demons inside of Balthazaar then his power may become unstable and difficult to control, and then he would be weakened greatly and Mason would once again stand a fair chance at defeating him. So, creating a spell for that purpose on the spot, Mason moved to take out the demons within Balthazaar one at a time, and in doing so he was hurting Balthazaar and creating powerful enemies that wanted him dead at the same time.*

Balthazaar turned on his heel, covered from head to toe in the guts of his most recent kill and panting so heavily he felt mortal for the first time in his long life. He looked towards Mason, but did not see him for his vision became blurry and he fell to one knee, dropping his spear so that he could catch himself with both hands. Staring at the ground, sweat and blood running down his nose and dripping to the floor, Balthazaar tried to catch his breath, and to stabilize the demons within before the overwhelmed him and broke free of their own accord.

"Oh how the mighty...Have fallen." Mason said with a struggled smile as he took one limping step towards Balthazaar; "It is good that you..Have learned your place..By my feet." Mason raised his right hand, extending one finger he began gathering an electrical charge at the tip. Within a second there was enough that it was visible, and growing noticeably in discharge size.

"You know not what you do...Stop now, before all is lost.." Balthazaar said, then he growled as his stomach seemed to turn three hundred and sixty degrees.

"Is that fear I hear from the mighty Balthazaar?" Mason nearly laughed, but didn't; "Truly sad, let me put you out of your misery!"

Mason threw his lightning tipped finger downwards as if it were a bolt itself, when in reality it was many times stronger, and swarmed by an air of pure magic to boot. The impact upon Balthazaar would be of the same power as a nuclear strike, and Mason expected it would take nothing less to kill the demon, even in this weakened state.

(Thanks Strange.)

Jason screamed in pain, dropping Otaru as he clutched his head and fell to the floor. He had the worst migraine imaginable and it only seemed to be worsening with the seconds, in a shrill voice he screamed to the heavens; "BOSS HEEEELP MEE ARGGHGG!"

-
'Boss' seemed to hear his underlings plea for help, for his mental presence seemed to double, nay triple, in size instantly and began grating down Tourivil's defenses as if they were not there. If Tourivil was still able to send out mental probes then he was beyond mortal levels of consciousness, or at the very tippy tip at least.

Boss on the other hand was proving more and more every second that his mental pressure was far, far beyond mortal lengths, in fact it was large enough to madden most mortals with the merest brush.
-

Faolin, having regained his senses fully, saw that both Tourivil and Jason appeared to be under great mental stress, though Jason more so. What he also saw, more importantly perhaps, was his chance to strike.

Forcing his wings to their peak of performance Faolin shot towards Jason, his sword in hand and a mind set on cutting the man clean in half, at the same time he yelled; "Beast, you had better he helping your master or so help me!" He was speaking, of course, to the little beast which he had noticed flying around the site where Tourivil stood.

-

Achilles moved seemed not to move passed, but through Shalor as he loped the Ferrock's head off with a move of his sword so fast that no man alive would have been able to follow it...Well Fenrir maybe.

As Shalor's body exploded Achilles turned, actually breathing heavily which was astounding to think when speaking of Achilles, and saw more of the abomination horde, but he also saw that their numbers were growing very small now, very small indeed. Moving into the fray he planned to thin the horde even more...

-

Jet was about to cut down another line of Sardonians with his flame-edged sword when a hand suddenly appeared to block it's path, a bare hand even. It did not even cut or scratch at all, and the man it was attached to did not even seem to notice Jet's sword hitting it.

"Enough." Shino said with finality; "Your story has ended, leave this world." Swinging his huge silver sword around with his other hand, whilst gripping Jet's sword with his right one, Shino looked as if he were about to cut Jet in half at the waist when Jet suddenly vanished, reappearing a foot backwards.

"Damnit, I thought you had me there..." Jet said angrily, clearly disappointed as well; "Don't hold back, you'll regret it."

Shino thrust his sword into the ground and removed his second arm without another word, picking his sword back up he vanished instantly as he pushed off to the left.

Jet threw his sword away and clapped his hand hand to his chest(Since he doesn't have two hands he's using his chest as a second hand), creating a small blue dome of energy around himself that Shino would need to destroy if he planned to get to him. In the meantime Jet began clicking around like crazy, blowing up sections of the battlefield every time in an attempt to hit Shino...

-

The sand within Leaf's earthly defense shot towards him as if he were a magnet and became as hot as lava, searing deep into his flesh almost instantly.

The creature closed in, and when it was within distance it struck with not one, but three of it's clawed hands towards the small being that was Leaf below him. His top right arm came down like a massive club, his bottom right one came around like a scythe trying to cut Leaf's head off, and his centre left one came around and slightly down in an attempt to slash Leaf.

Leaf stood several feet below this monstrosity, it's lowest arm was almost level with the top of Leaf's head, and he certainly lacked it's massive bulk.

If Leaf was hit by any of the swings he would feel that the thing was as strong as fifty ox, at least, and the swings weren't coming very slow either..

“We flargh deflinetsely not echquals.” Brunnex slurred staring unsteadily at his new body in the mirror. Weeks, months, years; who knows how long he had been in that tank. The pain of reconstruction, the endless drowning, being put back together… Oh, they were hardly equal. Brunnex didn’t even know why he would say such a pathetically stupid thing.

He sat, or rather, slouched in a wooden chair his head tilted downward a little. It gave him a drunken look but he was certainly far from it. He actually felt a tad refreshed; hearty and strong even. The problem was that even though he may have once been a master of the physical form everything was different in this body. When you made yourself bigger from your original self you simply had to adjust your actions to scale. However now he had a new base; a new ‘original’ so to speak. It was rather like being an adult in a baby’s body. One simple gesture could send your whole body into action or, vice versa, you could not move at all on your first attempt at it. Balance was the tricky part though. Just getting to his seat had been rather difficult. He had ended up crouched over like he was walking a tightrope. One he would have failed for every step took him swaying in one direction. He had lost his footing thrice before making it to the table.

Sitting as he was he allowed his hands to roam his body in slow motions as he ‘figured himself out’. Flashes of Strange’s former, mortal, body came into his mind and he remembered that Strange had once told him he had been made by another. Brunnex laughed then. A deep, hearty laugh that was not his. First, he was a clone of Brun and now it rather seems like he’s a clone of Strange. Of course not all abomination-like as Strange had been but I imagined the stuff inside would have been a little similar. Was his destiny to keep living in the creations of others. He had thought Biomagic had taught him how to be his own creation but it seemed that was all but superficial.

“Shoo am I?”

Shane recognised the sound. It was an impossible sound. A very small whirling of air but he recognised the sound of that unique form of teleportation. “Bye Uncle.” He said as his body loss all solidity instantly and fell into the dry earth. The wet patch travelled through the earth a few feet before Shane jumped out facing the fallen. It was a tad juvenile the trick and he needed to grow some more magically before it could get any flashier.

Water congealed out of the solid air around him and his trident appeared in his hand. He stared back at M his own Occulis Genkai already out. It was odd to see M now. He was definitely younger and in a different body than the last time he had seen him. Though, aside from being a touch smaller and little wirier, the basic features were the same; black hair, tall, lanky, enough muscle to say strength but less enough to say controlled rather than brute. He did seem a little greyer now too but Shane wasn’t sure if that was a trick of the light or not…

M moved backwards, staring at the boy who had killed him blankly, his demonic looking eyes as plain as if they were looking at an ordinary chair, and not a mortal enemy.

M lifted his sword and moved forward once more slashing downwards towards Shane's right shoulder. This was actually a trick, M planned to phase through Shane and then turn around and slash the boy from hip to shoulder instantly.

A sheet of ice merged out of thin air in front of Shane almost instantly and it was thick enough so that if M passed through it he would have to solidify at the other end for an attack from Shane.

Shane readied his Trident to stab forward as soon as M re-emerged. He’d gotten M with this trick the last time too. He hoped the man would fall for it again. He didn’t seem in control of his mental faculties.

Shane blocked the sword with the pole of his Trident and not a moment too soon. It was more than a little close. Water formed into acupuncture needles behind M. Shane pushed the man backward by thrusting the pole forward suddenly. Then he fired the needles so they would hopefully litter his back and neck as he staggered backward.

M staggered backwards and was hit by the ice-spikes as Shane had intended, seeming to react to the negative stimuli M vanished into his eye once more before Shane could follow up.

Several moments passed, and then M appeared in directly in front of Shane and swung for his chest, the suddenness of the appearance and the attack were most likely what M was hoping would act as the main factor for it.

Shane was just about to let his guard down when M appeared scaring the shit out of him. However his somewhat flattered stance was a defensive one and M had swung straight for the defence. The only way his attack could have worked was if Shane had been surprised enough to drop his Trident.

Shane did, however, fall on his arse. He hadn’t had enough time to tense up in preparation for the attack and it sent him on his arse. He threw his hand forward and steam shot out of his palm at M hot enough to melt his skin right off.

M spun to the right, trying to avoid the steam but the backside of left arm was seared all the way along, and his shoulder caught some as well. That being said as he was spinning he was dragging his sword through the air, and he was going lower now that he was almost back at where he started, if Shane did not move, or block the slash then M's sword would cut his head in half..

*The little beast seemed to nod. With one small, pudgy, clawed hand it gestured at Tourivil. Instantly, Tourivil found himself bolstered by the colossal presence of the little beast, and together they pushed back the "Boss" from Tourivil's mind.

As though this was no great tax on him, and frankly, it wasn't, he gestured with the other stubby little hand at Faolin, and the old Dragon rider's muscles were no longer fatigued, his lungs were full of breath again, and he felt as though, in an instant, he had taken a nice nap. he was as sharp as when he had came into battle.

Faolin had asked him to make a choice, he had decided to simply do both. *

The boss seemed to falter when the little beast's mind appeared from nowhere, but after a moment it began pushing forward once more with a strength that may have rivaled even the little beast and Tourivil's mental presence combined, yet just as Tourivil would have felt the boss's mental strength about to attempt to reenter his mind a strange and heavily clouded presence entered the fray from seemingly nowhere, it was impossible to tell from where it came or what sort of being was casting it's mind into this tangle but it was pretty clear that whatever it was it was trying to keep it's identity unknown whilst still providing a strong new mental-foe on the field. It may have surprised Tourivil somewhat that this new presence began pushing the boss back alongside Tourivil and his little beast, seeming not to want to make contact with their minds at all but determined to make sure the boss gained no ground in this mental battle.

Whatever the new mind was it was nowhere near as strong as the boss's, but with the combined might of Tourivil, the little beast, and the new comer the boss was once again unable to enter Tourivil's mind despite his growing efforts.

Before anything else could happen in the mental world Faolin smiled a thanks to the little beast, then opened his mouth mid-flight and bathed the still immobile Jason in flames hot enough to melt steel, this only worked to intensify the screams of pain coming from Jason. A few seconds later Jason's scream were cut short by the edge of Faolin's sword, before his head even hit the ground however Jason's body exploded outwards with a fail safe explosion far stronger than that of any of the other Fallen. Faolin was caught up in the blast directly, tightening into a ball and wrapping himself in layers of magic was all he could hope to do to avoid instant death, and the explosion was large enough that Tourivil would also be hit if he did not move away.

Fenrir lopped Auron's head off as the latter went for a stab when he should have sliced, Fenrir moved through the smoke cloud created by the clone's disintegration and dashed towards the real Auron, whom still stood as he had been for the past several seconds entirely still with his eyes closed. Whatever he was planning Fenrir didn't want to see the results of it, his brother and he had been fighting for long enough and it was about time he ended this, whilst he still had the strength to do so on his own terms.

Auron raised Iza at the very last second to block Fenrir's strike, his eyes opened and he gave a mad cackle of glee; "Finally! Your friends work so very slowly brother, but at least they get the job done I suppose."

"What the hell are you talking about?" Fenrir asked as he tried to overpower his brother's defense by taking hold of his sword with his free hand and pushing forward.

Auron launched himself backwards, twirling his brother's sword around with his own as he retreated; "Sorry brother, it's been nice seeing you but I've really got to run. Places to be, things to do."

Sheathing Iza on his hip Auron clapped his hands together and suddenly the earth underneath him rose up, then began moving away from Fenrir and towards the west of the battlefield at a rather nice pace. After a few metres the dirt and rubble cleared away from the mound, revealing the snake Auron had been using as transport under his feet and not just a moving collection of dirt. Rearing high above the crowds of fighting men and monster the snake slithered through the battlefield ignoring friend and foe alike, Auron standing atop its head preparing for the next stage in his plan...

Shane brought the Trident up to block the blow. As the sword clashed with the metal pole he kicked out with his right leg toward M’s groin. It might have been more prudent to use some form of magical attack but Shane was a little flustered what with all the up close and personal combat.

Probably badly, mostly surface wounds though, nothing super important broken. Armor was toast though, that was a shame. He knew as well as anyone he didn't have the strength for another major encounter, but he wouldn't admit that. With a stumbling start, he approached Faolin, the little beast hovering in the air perhaps fifty feet over him. In a moment, he reached the dragon rider. *
