His armour had taken most of the impact of the kick. It had been enough to send him backwards some ways but had caused little actual damage to him. Shilack charged forward sword at the ready for a vertical strike seemingly aiming to cut Shalor from shoulder to waist. At the last second he would dodge to the side and bring his sword around to lob off his head.

Had Taru's 'iron-skin' actually been formed of Iron then Tourivil's method would indeed have cooked Taru inside his own ultimate defense, unfortunately Taru's little trick was in fact formed out of a substance that was not a conductor, but in fact a rather nifty insulator for heat, meaning Taru was protected from pretty much all of the heat of Tourivil's attack.

Ripping his hand from the earth, fingers still curled into a tight ball, Taru rocketed forward, magically propelling himself, with his sword aimed to go through Tourivil's heart. He hoped that Tourivil would be caught off guard by the fact that his attack had not worked, and as such would not suspect such a instantaneous, and forthright, counterattack.

Taru's sword was coated heavily in magic and was primed to cut through almost any defense. He had, or at least tried to, recreated Tiero's invisible edge in this new sword. The edge was only millimetres thick, barely noticeable length addition wise, but it did mean that his sword would cut through pretty much anything without much trouble.

-

Auron was impressed that John had managed to block his strike, even as he stumbled backwards from dropping his sword. The old man had skilled, or at least he might have done at an earlier point in his life.

Pouncing forward Auron took advantage of John's lack of sword and weakened position, not to mention his own superior speed, to poke John not once, but twice with the tip of his sword. The first stab was just about the left nipple, it got as far as John's rib cage before it glinted off and he withdrew the blade.

The second strike was less of a direct hit and more of a rather deep graze of John's right forearm, near the centre. The cut went right across the outer side and and was fairly deep, though far from life threatening.

Auron faked that he was about to stab forward again with his sword, then leaned backwards at the last moment and flicked his left wrist; summoning three shadow snakes from his sleeves once more. He and John were separated by less than a foot now, and the snakes moved fast. John would have to think quickly if he planned to avoid being injected with hyper-lethal poison, and that wouldn't be easy to do considering he had just been hit twice.

-

Shalor's sword seemed not to move, but instead phased into existence in time to meet Shilack's blade in full force. The two swords clashing created a storm of sparks that lasted only an instant, and was a testament to the sheer force of the strikes, and also the durability of either's weapon.

Shalor's free hand shot forward, his sword hand still trying to over-power Shilack in their little struggle, and attempted to wrap itself around Shilack's neck.

If it were successful then Shalor was give Shilack one good squeeze, with enough force to easily crush a lesser man's windpipe, then throw him to earth with all his might. He would give chase instantly, slashing Shilack as much as he could before he regained his composure...

-

Fenrir wasn't sure what was heavier anymore, his heart in his chest or Ryuk's arm around his shoulder, both weighed a tonne and weren't getting any lighter as the fresh wave of monsters charged him and his wounded comrade.

Ryuk had been getting slower and slower, and at an alarming rate. Fenrir had been stupid to think that he could keep up with him all the way out here in enemy territory, he was entirely mortal after all.

Ryuk was about to finish hacking one of the monsters to pieces when another came from behind and stabbed him through the back of the shin with a stick-like sword. Ryuk had roared in pain, but had not dropped his sword until he turned and used it to lop the head off of his attacker. He ripped the sword out of the wound, gave Fenrir one defiant look, and then tried to engage another regardless of his new, serious, injury.

Fenrir was forced to intervene just in time to save Ryuk's neck, literally. The Ferrock had collapsed, but Fenrir had caught him just in time and had since been on a mad rush back through the lines of the enemy to home base. Fighting entirely one handed, with the nigh-dead weight of Ryuk on his arm, was almost impossible, especially when you were surrounded on all sides. The only reason he hadn't been taken by unawares and stabbed in the back was because these idiotic monstrosities were too focused on driving forward towards the main bulk of their enemies, rather than killing the few that had infiltrated their ranks. That wasn't to say, however, that Fenrir wasn't fighting for his life every step of the way, it was just that he wasn't fighting nearly as hard as he would be if these things had human-intelligence.

"Leave..Me." Ryuk spluttered as his master knocked aside a strike meant for his chest with the flat of his blade, then cut the attacker down the chest just deep enough to make sure it didn't get back up yet not deep enough to ensure a kill. His eyes were clouded and his breath was coming in gasps, and he was damned if his master would die because he was too weak to stand on his own feet.

"Ha, fat chance of that." Fenrir replied with a grin. With a flash of light his sword was a spear, which Fenrir used to sweep the feet from under half a dozen charging abominations, another flash and it was once again a sword as they stepped over the scrambling abominations.

He wasn't going to leave Ryuk behind, that was for sure, but Fenrir was beginning to doubt that he would make it much further at this rate. Things were getting dire, and he wasn't getting any stronger, yet his enemies truly did seem to be.

Everything seemed hopelss, then came the saving grace...

-

Faolin gave a smirk as he saw a dozen Dwarves break the lines of the abominations, charging forwards towards the entrapped Demigod and his Ferrock friend. Say what you will of Dwarves, but they'd rather die then let it be said they would let a good comrade die on the battlefield.

Faolin was fighting two fights, the one before his own eyes in which he chopped and hacked these abominations apart, and the one in his mind's eye were he was flying through the air with teeth and claw, ripping and burning at a mass of scales so large he struggled to see it's end. It made things a lot more complicated, fighting both of these fights simultaneously, and yet he was all the stronger for Erda's aid in his own battle.

Even when separated a Rider and Dragon never fought alone...

-

Monda's body curled backwards with the blow, then twisted around in on itself and within only a few seconds he was once again coiled up, and snapping forward at the Alpha's huge bulk with his fangs. This time the Alpha could do nothing to dodge the strike, as it continued to rise out of the ground. Monda finally found his mark a few tens of metres from the head of the Alpha, sinking his teeth metres upon metres into the Alpha's thick skin...

-

"Brunnex, Tourivil has engaged Taru alone, please back him up immediately. You're the only one that can handle him, so be quick before your friend learns that at great cost..." Sir Tillion mentally projected this to Brunnex alone through the medium of the earrings.

He was just glad that he had placed a dozen scouts within the Unu'keth contingent, otherwise they would not have been able to report what was going on on that side of the battlefield to him. As far as he can tell things were going pretty well on that end though, Tourivil had already taken down one fallen, the one named Krom, and his men were having about the same difficulty as the other force were with the Fallen.

-

The two large snakes were eventually stabbed and slashed enough that they ceased to move, they had each killed a dozen men but it could have been much worse.

The huge fire snake continued to wind its way through the reinforcements, reducing them to ash, seeming to ignore any attempts from the gathered mages to extinguish it.

It was formed from the old language, it would take a powerful mage to destroy it, not a gaggle of weaker ones.

As soon as he saw the snakes, John teleported. He appeared next to the swords Auron had planted in the ground, his own in his hand. As soon as he appeared, with one hand held out, they vanished. They would reappear in a chest in a room below his office, a room designed solely for capturing the 6 swords.

"Nicely done, but the snakes were unfair." He replied, the Kilij now a Jian. He healed his wounds quickly as well, considering they weren't too serious. He spared a glance over at the reinforcements, before looking back at Auron.

"Tillion, we may need someone to distinguish this fire snake. These mages seem unable to do so. Does anyone know some old magic?"

While looking at Auron, a thought appeared. "Are you looking to cause havok Auron, or are you looking to fight someone in particular?"

Auron chuckled, clapping his free hand against the pommel of his sword; "My my, you are the little escapist aren't you?"

He ceased clapping and gave an innocent motion of his hands, his mouth hanging slightly open; "Me? Cause havoc, never! Fighting is also so very dangerous, not really my thing."

"Now John, you've stolen something of mine so perhaps I should steal something of yours in return, I think that's only fair don't you?"

-

Sir Tillion heard John's plea and relayed it to the others; "There is a giant snake made of fire, conjured by the old language, anyone who specializes in dealing with such things please hurry up. It's routing the reinforcements."

"It's not stealing. Considering you were unhonourable first, I decided that it was best to ensure you don't use those swords against me. After all, it just evens that game. Either way, you still haven't answer my question. Is there someone you'd like to fight?" John asked, pacing slightly.

"As for something of mine, I'm currently working on getting something back anyway, so perhaps you could help me." He said, smileing as he did so.

"You neglected to answer my question Johhny, oh well." Auron grinned as his sword shimmered slightly, and began to shrink in on itself and take new form. Before John's very eyes Auron's rapier changed form so that it was no larger than a tic-tac, a silver tictac.

Auron rolled his neck, then flicked the silvery-tictac into his mouth and swallowed it whole. He theatrically shivered and made a little 'oooh' sound then shook himself and said; "Enough of that for now."

Auron clapped his flattened palms together, and suddenly there were four of him. One stood at each side of John, forming a sort of box around him, but they were all a few feet away from him and thus out of immediate harms way. In unison the Auron's grinned, and then began to mutter in the old language in husky, inaudible tones.

The four Auron's were exactly identical in every way, shape and form, even magically they gave off the same small trace amounts of magic that the original Auron did before casting the spell. In truth they were all merely illusions, though John would have no way of telling other than by directly engaging each of them.

The real Auron had teleported elsewhere on the battlefield, near the back of the main army. He wasted no time at all in summoning Iza to his hand, then began cutting his foes apart.

If John did not stop all four of the Auron's in the next seven seconds or so things would get very bad for him indeed.

Of course, the real Auron would still be free to do as he pleased even if the illusions were destroyed in time, this was just another part of the game John had engaged him in to Auron. He was simply killing time, and Sardonians, until his opponent found him once more...

"Fine." John replied, knowing that Auron was using clones to kill time. He did not, however, know that all four of the Aurons were clones.

John reached into his collar, and pulled out a small necklace. This action did nothing, except allow John to show for the slightest of moments his reserves.

In front of him, only where three of the four Aurons were, and half of the forth, John created a dome. Inside said dome he let loose a series of explosions as soon as the dome appeared, which was instant. Unless the cones were quick enough, they would surely die.

The illusions made no move to save themselves at all, they were enveloped in the explosion and the spell substantiating them was broken.

Auron, across the battlefield, felt his illusions break and smiled all the wider for it. This game was proving to be slightly more entertaining that he had originally thought...

After the attack struck, and three of the clones were killed, John looked at the forth. The attack had left it without most of its body. If it was still alive, it didn't matter, as John held out his hand and fired several fireballs at it, reducing it to ash

John knew he was weakened, and so left the battlefield only for a while. He would appear behind his troops, recoving lost magic. In all honesty, he was surprised all four clones, as he know knew they were, hadn't defended themselves.

Auron frowned as his playmate left the battlefield. That was no fun, no fun at all.

Planting his free hand on the ground Auron not only pushed himself into a forward front flip of spinning death, but also summoned a little surprise for John...

-

The moment John appeared behind the reserve troops a huge ball of fire was fired at his back from only a foot behind him. If he dodged it in time, and turned around to look at his opponent, he would see Elderane clad in the black robes of the organisation carrying a plain wooden staff.

His skin was grey, his eyes black, and he looked only twenty years old at the most. On his hip dangled a shortsword and John would be able to sense that his magical reserves were at their very strongest, if not a little stronger than they had ever been.

John barely had time to sense the fireball and instead put up his defences. When he turned around, his face was one of utter shock for just a moment. The bigger shock was for the Assassins within the army, who saw their previous second in command, now a weapon for the opposing army. It made their resolve to win much greater.

"Those who can spare it, give me magic. I will need as much of it as I can hold." John said.

"Tillion, Aurons disappeared, and left me a new present. I'll deal with it." He mentally told Tilion, while looking directly at Elderane, and sending Tillion an image of him. John then replaced his Jian with his own staff, and readied himself.

_ _ _ _ _ _

Elsewhere on the battlefield, Mikalu spotted Lyacoon. "LYACOON" he roared. "TIME FOR ROUND TWO" He could barely be heard above the roar of the battle, and those with earrings could possibly hear it, depending on how far away they were. John definately heard it.

Sir Tillion noted that John was now engaged with Elderane, and his second in command was about to engage Lyacoon, he also took into account the reports from his scouts as to where Auron was now. When all of this was processed he gave sent out the universal commands; "Lyacoon has been engaged, anyone who can please lend a hand he's a very dangerous opponent. The snake summoned by Auron to destroy the reserves needs to be handled ASAP, and Auron himself is now near the back of the main force, please be careful about engaging him directly. Recent information puts him as a lot stronger than we originally anticipated."

-

Lyacoon done something strange indeed when Mikalu called his name, he smiled. Given the fact that the other Fallen had no control over their emotions it may strike those that say this display as odd, after all why would Lyacoon be the only one granted emotions?

Taking his sword in hand Lyacoon charged towards Mikalu, cutting down any man who stepped in his way, and those that got close enough also...

(Hmm, it has been too long since one of our sprees Muer. I sense this is the start of another.)

John started first, by knowingly testing his old friends defences. He did so by sending a firebolt from his staff at Elderane, while commanding the earth to rise up and encase Elderanes legs up to his knees.

_ _ _ _ _ _

Mikalu sheathed his sword while he ran, instead unsheathing his armblades. He smiled as he saw Lyacoon run towards him. This would be interesting. He would be ready to jump if needed. He would jump to his side, and roll around Lyacoon

From the head of Elderane's staff shot a spout of water, which met the firebolt in midair and dispersed it harmlessly.

As per the earth rising up his legs Elderane simply tapped the creeping earth with the bottom of his staff and it resumed its normal state of unanimated dirt, falling from his legs harmlessly. It was clear Elderane was on top form, topper even.

Stepping forward Elderane pointed his staff at John and shot a bolt of purple energy towards his old ally without second thought. The energy would burn through steel and flesh with ease if it made contact..

-

Lyacoon performed a huge leap over dozens of soldiers when he was within range of Mikalu, but at the last minute the assassin rolled out of the way and was back on on his feet in an instant. Lyacoon landed where Mikalu had been only a moment before, snarling savagely in delight.

Turning around, flailing his sword out and killing three soldiers as he done so, Lyacoon found Mikalu's new position and grinned a toothy smile; "Round two indeed."

John lifted his staff and the air itself redirected the purple energy bolt as it came towards him, before redirecting it back towards Elderane. As soonas it was on it's way, he half skipped backwards, spinning as he did so. Once he landed he let loose a white beam of energy.

_ _ _ _ _

Mikalu ran forward, swinging his arm blades inwards, one from the left and one from the right.

Elderane caught the purple ball of energy in his left hand, only for an instant, and then sent it flying off to his left where it pierced the chest of a Sardonian soldier and then exploded, maiming three more.

The white beam on the other hand he raised his staff off the ground and conjured a shield of magical energy in front of himself to block. When the beam hit the shield it fizzled harmlessly, and Elderane dispersed the shield as well.

Elderane took hold of his sword sword with his left hand and drew it from it's sheath, stepping forward he summoned a circle of flames, taller than any house, around him and John to act as an arena. The circle had a circumference of about thirty foot, and the soldiers that were unfortunate enough to be caught inside that circle were reduced to ash instantly. Attempting to leave the circle by any means would result in John being set alight, though he had no way of knowing that.

Elderane charged, sweeping his sword through the air..

-

Lyacoon saw both strikes coming a mile off, and knew just how to counter them.

He continued his charge towards Mikalu, but as he came within striking range he leaped into the air, spinning as he done so he lashed out and cut Mikalu from shoulder to hip across the back with his sword, he landed on silent heels and prepared to pounce again...

Lyacoon was not one to play with his food, not when it really counted...

-

Fenrir was flying through the ranks of the enemy now, once more far from the sights of his would be-protector Faolin and his friend Shane. He hadn't meant to leave them behind, but he found it hard to keep track of things when he was fighting this many enemies, he was moving on instinct more than any actual formal will.

He had deposited Ryuk with some healers behind friendly lines, or at least what was passing for lines any way, and then charged once more. He had wanted to stay with his friend to make sure he was healed properly, but he knew that he was needed even more on the field.

Fenrir twirled his spear around his hand, letting it go so that it actually spun around to the back of his hand, with a slightly downward turn of his hand it began spinning down the length of his arm, then across his shoulder and onto his back, then onto the other shoulder and down his left arm, where he caught it firmly in his hand once more, thrusting it into the stomach of a Fallen as he done so. The entire spinning had actually cut up a further four abominations in the process, making a total of five for the entire move, which was quite good going.

Removing his spear from the abominations stomach Fenrir brought the other end of his spear around and bashed the thing on the side of the head, causing it to give an unholy guttural squeal, and then fall to the floor. The others were already on the floor, in varying degrees inability to fight.

Moving forward once more Fenrir was surprised to find a break in the mass of grey, rotten, flesh, and also to see a familiar face...

-

Achilles and Shilor had been in a cloud of dust, a haze of motion, and a wash of blood since they had first begun swinging, yet none of it was either of their own blood. Rather it was the blood of anything fool enough to get close to the ever moving duo of flashing steel.

Achilles was surprised that the Ferrock could keep up with him, even though he was using a large two-handed weapon. It wasn't hard to see why Brun had chosen this guy to watch over his kid, he was abominably strong, and fast to match. Hell, lasting this long against Achilles should earn the guy a freaking blue peter badge at the very least.

Shilor spun on the spot, dragging his wings across Achilles face as he done so to daze and confuse the man. As he spun he lifted his right leg and planted a foot in the momentarily blinded warrior's chest, sending him falling to the floor, giving Shilor time to dash backwards.

Achilles was on his feet in an instant and chasing after Shilor with his sword raised for the kill, but Shilor had other plans, and Achilles was unfortunate enough to meet the Ferrock's purple gaze...

As strong as Achilles was there was nothing he could do to stop Shilor's pseudo-Occulis Genkai breaking through his mental barriers and taking a firm hold of his mind, there was few people that would be able to stop such a thing, very few indeed.

Achilles, the indestructible warrior of legend, was officially under Shilor's mental pressure, and only those well versed in mental torture could even fathom what one as mentally powerful as Shilor would be doing with utter control of his mind....

John knew exactly what to do. He closed his eyes, and summoned his magic. The procedure left him open mentally, and those connected to his earring would see what he would see, and feel what he would feel. It was all unintential, but that's the strength of what he was about to do.

When he opened them, Elderane was almost on top of him. Johnpatted Elderanes sword off to one side, and held out his hand, and from it came a burst of pure energy. It was similar to the attack he had used in the palace a few weeks back, which had almost cost him his life. This one was of the same strength, but used less energy to conduct.

This was aimed directly at Elderane, and would cover his entire body, even from less than a foot away.

_ _ _ _ _

Mikalu rolled his shoulders, his back healing slightly. He readied himself to run, but flicked his fingers outward, causing the earth under Lyacoon to crumble beneath his feet.

Elderane let go of his sword as John knocked it aside, and as he saw the magical attack being prepared he done the first thing that came to mind.

Teleporting Elderane caught his sword again before it even hit the earth, he appeared several feet away from John, but if the attack reached that far then he was elsewise defenceless for the next few seconds.

Elderane wasn't the strongest mage ever, and although he still had a lot of magic left in the tank, John would know full well that like himself, Elderane couldn't keep up the game of magical cat and mouse forever.

-

Lyacoon tried to hop from un-cracked earth to un-cracked earth as Mikalu's spell took affect, even his magical nullness didn't stop things like that, but was unable to do so for more than a second or two. What he was able to do however was force himself into a forward fall, tackling Mikalu from behind and taking him to the ground with him.

Lyacoon landed somewhat on top of Mikalu, though he had lost his sword in the tumble and it was a little ways off now. Lyacoon grabbed the back of Mikalu's head, and tried to twist his head sharply to the right. If Mikalu did not do something to stop Lyacoon grabbing his head and twisting, then his neck would not only be snapped by Lyacoon's twist, but his entire head would be ripped off by Lyacoon's primal tug..

As he was tackled, Elderane sheathed his blades. They would be uselss from where he was, as he would need as much manouverability as he could. When Lyacoon grabbed his head, Mikalu brought both arms behind him, and unsheathed both blades.

Unless Lyacoon saw the impending attack, his abdomen would be filled by Mikalus arm blades.

_ _ _ _ _

Johns attacked merely continued towards Elderane. It wasn't designed for close quarters, it was designed to kill everything in it's path. It did get bigger though, as it moved away from John.

"URGH!" Lyacoon half-roared half-yelped as the blades were plunged into his abdomen, deep into his abdomen. He gritted his teeth and slid his right hand around to cup Mikalu's chin, taking a bone-crushing, literally, hold of it he gave a huge guttural roar and then attempted to spin Mikalu's head clean off...

-

Elderane didn't react at all facially when the attack zoomed towards him, not that he could, but instead he rose into the air without moving an inch of his body. Picking up speed Elderane shot vertically like a rocket, seeing how far this attack could follow him, and also tiring John out by having to maintain such a powerful attack longer than usual..

Mikalu then did something that most people would be surprised he could do. He spun the blades upwards, dislocating his shoulders as he did so. Such an attack would cut further into Lyacoons stomach, into his ribs, lings and possibly heart, while exiting out of his collarbone, this causing him to lose motor function of his arms.

_ _ _ _ _

Seeing Elderane fly off like that, John redirected the attack back to himself. Doing so allowed him to absorb the energy he'd spent making and controlling the attack. He blinked, in deep thought. He then launched started to cause the earth around him to crack and break. If uninterupted, he would launch the earth under the ring of rife at Elderane, with the ring of fire on it.

Achilles wasn't sure what had happened, one second he was running at Shilor, the next he locked eyes with and then everything went black.

Now, Fenrir and Shilor was taking swipes at each other as Achilles and Shilor had been doing what seemed like only seconds ago. Yet, both of them were marked by the other's blades, and Achilles could tell their battle had not been a short one. Picking himself up off of the ground Achilles waited for a time to strike..

-

Fenrir had known that Shilor had been a rather tough guy, but he had never imagined he would be this good, he was pushing him as hard as Faolin ever hard. Then again, it was never so hard to cut Faolin than it was to cut Shilor right now, and not because Fenrir was physically unable, but because he was finding it hard to bring himself to hurt Shilor. For Gods' sake, he was Shilor, he had kept Shane safe and taught him about his father, he had been their companion, he had died trying to protect them from M and N, he..He was Shilor!

Only now was Fenrir beginning to see just how evil these men, especially his brother, truly were. They were bringing back Sardonians, people's friends, their loved ones, their masters and their students...It was demonic! To force people to fight those they had loved the most in life was cruel, an inhumane, and Fenrir would make sure they understood that before he defeated them.

His armour had taken a hell of a beating from Shilor's blade, but had actually saved his hide quite a few times which he was happy about of course. He had got a cut on his left forearm which was impeding his fighting ability a little, and another above his right breast which wasn't too deep but made his armour godly uncomfortable around that area, and he had also been a little slower and less responsive since had received it.

His spear came up, blocking Shilor's huge sword as it came down towards Fenrir's skull. Fenrir was holding it both hands, like a pole with a hand at either end of the spear so that his shoulders were entirely straight. Without waiting a millisecond Fenrir sweeped Shilor's feet from under him, and when Shilor's sword stopped pushing against his spear, Fenrir spun it around wildly and brought the non-sharp end down on Shilor's exposed chest. He saw his scales explode apart and head a crunching noise that could only be the snapping of a rib or two, and yet Shilor tossed his sword away and took hold of the end of Fenrir's spear before he could lift it.

Shilor was about to yonk Fenrir off of his feet and into his death-grasp when Achilles interrupted him, but sticking a sword in his throat. Shilor's eyes went wide, and then his hand fell from Fenrir's spear and his body went limp...

Achilles leaped forward, tackling Fenrir to the ground and shielding the boy using his own body from the resulting explosion. The back of Achilles leather armour was torn to shreds, and burned where it was not torn, so much so that when he unbent and stood back up the front of his clothing fell away completely, revealing his well toned chest.

Giving a slight shrug as he saw his naked chest Achilles helped Fenrir to his feet and then dashed off...

-

Lyacoon gave a howl so terrible it shuddered the growing night's sky, so piercing that the bolts of lightning above failed to outshadow it. His back arched and his bones began to break and bend in an attempt to transform into his bestial state, but it was too late, he was too badly wounded and too far gone. With blood pouring from the two holes in his chest Lyacoon slumped forward, dying still atop Mikalu's back.

Mikalu had killed Lyacoon with his final act, but he had not saved himself. He had died a hero's death, and had doubtless saved dozens, if not hundreds, of lives in doing so. There was no better death for a soldier, and if they lived to sing of this day, then surely the Sardonians would sing of Mikalu, wolfslayer.

Lyacoon's corpse exploded, engulfing both of the defeated men and reducing them to ashes...

-

The men of Sardo had seen an Ork before, sure. They had seen a blood-rage driven Ork before, sure. But they had never seen a blood-raged, grey-skinned black eyed, defeated Lord of Sardo with a hammer half the size of a Dwarven child making a mockery of every Ork, Dwarf, human and every other form of life that dared step in his way. That, they had never even feared seeing.

Rend would know this Fallen well, at some point he had no doubt served under him in past years, or at least his father would have. Standing an impressive height, even for an Ork, clad in the demonic red, jagged, armour of the abominations was none other than Lord Burtz, and he was showing his former comrades no mercy.

Burtz was young again, and in the fire of his youth there had been not a man in Sardo that could hope to best him with a hammer in his hand. He was breaking bones and crushing skulls with indefatigable ease, and he was making his slow way towards Rend.

In all of Sardonian history there had only ever been two named Ork Lords, and in the next few moments the two would meet face-to-face, fist to fist, in battle to determine who is the strongest Ork on this battlefield, but also one that would prove if Rend was a fitting replacement for Lord Burtz...

-

The sky above the battle was a terrible, yet wondrous sight. Awash with red and blue, with fire and lightning, with creation and destruction, and distorted ever so slightly by the sheer output of magical energy by the two nigh-deities that clashed above.

Every time Toun created some sort of spell to maim or kill Jet, Jet would respond with an equally powerful counter measure meant to do likewise damage to Toun.

They had created sparrows of fire, dragons of pure wind, bolts of magic so concentrated they would split the mountains of Farra'kull in half with ease, balls of pure heat so hot they would sear the face of anyone within a mile radius if not for the safety measures emplaced to stop such a thing. Yet, no matter what one threw, the other one matched, and yet neither seemed to be half-near their end yet.

Truly if there were any scholars amongst the armies below, then if they survived this fight they would have to spend the rest of their lives trying to document the fight above them. The range of spells being used was truly amazing, which wasn't too surprising considering Toun held the Threllosian library inside his head and Jet was likewise versed in magical arts. These two could spend lifetimes casting spells and yet not come nearly close to exhausting their arsenal, only their magical reserves...

-

Elderane, seeing the attack had stopped, simply stopped flying and remained where he was in the air. He allowed the earth to be raised up, simply watching it as the fiery ringed earth rose towards him...
(There ya go Flamey, a nice Fallen just for you. Don't say I'm not good to you people.)

In the moment before Lyacoon died, Mikalu whispered, "I win".

In the resulting explosion though, his armblades were blown into two surrounding soldiers, one Sardonian and the other a member of the horde.

_ _ _ _ _

John heard the dying howls of Lyacoon. He quickly asked Tillion "What was that?"

He then launched the flaming rocks of death at his old friend.

*Tourivil only smiled at the man lunging at him with a sword. He was prepared for this, this was why he had raised Alzur's Shield. He focused his will into the shield, and as the tip of sword penetrated the purple haze of the shield, there was a crackling noise. The tip of the sword had been burnt away upon getting to the middle of the shield, and the rest would soon follow if the attack was not redirected.

To make matters more complicated, Tourivil swung his shield arm forward, aiming to consume all of the sword, and hopefully, his opponent's arm. *

The man engulfed moving green flames looked towards the horizon after cutting up his last victim, He realized the agonizing cries of soldiers and pointed his attention towards the screams and cries. It was then that he noticed a snake-like being that consists entirely of orange and yellow flames, everything it has touched seemed to turn into ash and it was heading in incredible speed towards him and his forces- if not the orks. There were those mages who tried to halt its advance or completely exterminate the being but their efforts were fruitless.

The green flames flowed or burned away from his swords onto the rest of his fiery aura, gathering together. The man slid his swords back into his belt and clenched his fists as he saw the fiery snake coming closer from several meters away.

His desire to protect his troops came into mind, the anger of seeing a beast heading straight for his units pissed him off. The transparent green flames that flowed around him had sudden bursts of energy and heat.

He is losing himself to his primitive way of fighting. The flames swallowed him up and turned a lighter by every passing second until it became almost white. The flames have calmed down but gave birth to a light green fiery humanoid with a pair of luminous white eyes that seem to show a soul purely made of energy. Standing on all fours and radiating an intense power inhuman to your standard magical 'buffs'.

The white humanoid startled the soldiers slightly, seeing a side of one of Sardo's heroes that has never been seen before. The humanoid direct it's attention toward the fiery snake and saw it as a threat for its 'reign' of power. It gave out a blood curling cry, if one were to hear it would sound as if it were a voice put together using a mash of human sounds both female and male. It launched itself toward the fiery snake of shifting orange and yellow colours. In the blink of an eye Leaf 'flew' or glided several yards forwards like an arrow recently shot from a bow.

"I'm not sure, my scouts aren't quite sure what just happened but I..." Sir Tillion went silent for a moment as a scout confirmed what others had been telling him, with solemnity he continued; "Your second in command is dead John, he died taking down the fallen known as Lyacoon."

The next part of the warning was broadcast to everyone of the counterguard;

"Watch yourselves, there is some sort of failsafe ward placed over the bodies of the Fallen. When you kill them clear out immediately, because the bodies explode seconds after the moment of death. Watch out for any other traps they might have up their sleeve while your at it."

-

Taru did not act quickly enough to save three quarters, but he did act fast enough to pull the blade back before it was fully gone, and throw his body backwards, thereby dodging the shield. As he landed Taru fell to one knee, plunging his left hand into his earth as he freed his right hand by tossing the sword away.

A spike of diamond hard earth spiked out from directly underneath Tourivil in the exact same instant that Taru's hand vanished into the earth. If Tourivil didn't move quickly enough, or find a rather sturdy defense, then the spike would impale him right through the small gap between his anus and his ballsack. The spike widened as it got lower to the ground, meaning any wound that it created would be larger the further the spike managed to reach.

-

The snake ignored Leaf's approach entirely, continuing it's fiery slither through the screaming Sardonians. It was clear the snake wasn't going to waste time trying to kill any one of serious power, but was instead aiming to cause as much collateral damage as possible.

-

Auron was keeping a careful eye on the position of all of his Fallen, as well as the positions of the stronger Sardonians. No one had presented a serious threat as of yet, so his plan was not quite ready to be put into motion, not yet.

He could sense that Taru was fighting a particularly interesting feeling opponent at this very moment, one that no doubt had ties to Strange's forest in someway if his magical presence was anything to go by. He could be exactly what Auron needed for his next phase, of course he would have to get past Taru first, and that would be no easy task...

-

Elderane poured a large amount of his magic into his staff as he lowered the head of the staff towards the incoming flaming landmass, all at once he released it in the form of a twenty foot wide fireball. It was huge, and very concentrated, and would cause the ground to explode upon impact...

John held out his staff, and from it's end came another white beam. This one however was alot thinner, and a lot harder to see, while also being four times as strong. This was directed straight at the giant fireball, and would cause it to explode prematurely.

Unless stopped, it would continue through until it hit Elderane.

John seemed to not hear that his friend had just died.

*Tourivil was not fast enough. He could never been fast enough to dodge that, had this come at nearly any other point in tourivil's life, he would be in a world of hurt, or dead.

However, while Tourivil was not fast enough. There was someone else who was. Someone whose sole reason for being was to protect Tourivil. Someone who had been waiting for an opportunity like this for awhile now.

There was a horrible rending cracking noise as the diamond hard earth was compressed into a small brick, the spell completely overwhelmed by the very air around it crushing in on it. Tourivil Looked bewildered for a moment, and then a look of understand came across his face, and the little beast swooped past the two combatants on its tiny wings. It would serve as Tourivil's protector until it felt the need to attack.

Gods help whoever it felt the need to attack.

Tourivil, not being one to waste time at critical moments, still holding his shield out in front of him, raised his free hand, and clenched his fist. The blood from the battlefield's dead around him rushed up into his hand, was converted into magical energy, and fired out through his knuckled as four raking beams of electricity, which rushed towards the iron skinned one. Tourivil did not expect this to kill him, he merely wanted a way in for his mental attacks, which was, after all, the Blood mage's real forte.

Die, pretender! At that moment Brunnex appeared behind Taru grabbing him by the head. The beams collided into a carbon armour the approximate strength of dry leaves. Brunnex was adorned head-to-toe in his own super-strong armour but he expected to take some of the blast also.

Brunnex had told the Alpha Worm to finish off after hearing from Sir Tillion. Then he had followed the tracer spell on Tourival here just in time to help finish off Taru

***

His sword roared into life burning so intensely it was like sticking your head too close to the Oven when you opened it. Shilack took the opportunity to knee Shalor in the stomach and whip backwards using his wings to propel him. As he flew backward he pointed his sword straight at Shalor and yelled Cherubim the flame leapt forward like dragons breath at the magic-less ferrock.

Fortunately for Shilack it had been long decided that any ferrock in a life debt must use whatever weapon his master appoints him to its fullest ability when appropriate and this included even magical items.

Brunnex expected to take damage, but most likely not the amount of damage he would be taking.

Taru's eyes widened in horror as Brunnex appeared behind him and disrupted his carbon-based armour again, just as the first licks of electricity brushed his skin. It was all he could do to do one last spell before the electricity fried him too much to think clearly, one spell that would enact his final wish, to kill the foul bastard Brunnex!

The area where Brunnex touched on Taru turned to soup in his hands, and before Brunnex could even twitch his fingers the soupy solution was soaked into his skin and began multiplying rapidly inside his body. Much like a virus, or some other harmful pathogen, the Taru-tissue would begin attacking Brunnex's immune system as well as his basic respiratory functions.

Unlike your average pathogen however the Taru-tissue came with a nice little time-bomb for Brunnex, one that would cause even his biomagic a world of grief. The cells and tissue injected into his body would work with super speed to spread and clone themselves around his body, and when the time came that Taru was defeated and killed, those cells would explode just like the rest of Taru's body, except the molecular level explosion inside of Brunnex would have dire consequences indeed.

Taru was hit by the lightning, his body seized up as the lightning coursed through him and any further threat he might pose was halted for the duration of the lightning passing through his body..
-

Elderane could not have seen the attack coming due to the flaming rock between him and John, but he was given enough warning when the rock exploded suddenly to raise some sort of rudimentary defense.

Holding his staff in front of himself Elderane created a shield as quickly as he could, but he did not have enough time to power it up completely, meaning when the beams of energy hit the shield they did not bounce off entirely, but instead curved slightly and went off mark.

All but one, that is.

The last of John's beams was not redirected enough and grazed Elderane's left arm by several inches...
