Hephaestus's humming bird popped back into existence by Brunnex's head, clutching in its tiny little claws a pair of over-sized googles made of a silvery material. The goggles were remarkably similar to Strange's own design, with tinted glass lenses to hide the eyes beyond them, and would fit perfectly over the mask Brunnex currently wore.

Hephaestus's voice played out of the humming bird like a recording, explaining his new invention; "The goggles are pretty nifty if I do say so myself. They let you see through solid stone, up to about fifteen metres thick, and have three 'setting's that can be changed by slightly altering the magical current flowing through them with a tiny jolt of your own magic. The first setting is standard and is what they're currently set to, nothing special at all about that. The second setting is yer norm, thermovision, if I must explain how that works then there is nay hope for the youth of today at all.

The last setting, and my personal favorite, is what I like to call 'Magic-o-vision'. It's sort of like thermovision, except it works by sensing out the magical levels of the people and objects around you and displaying them in a blue-ish hue. The larger the splotch of color, the more magic there is in that area, and the brighter blue it is the higher the concentration of the magic. Even if someone is hiding their magic you'll be able to see their real power level as easy as pie, nothing will hide their magic from those goggles.

And, of course, it'll take quite a bashing to break those goggles, I can tell you that much."

"These goggles can be yours for the limited price of; Fourteen Golden Drachmas. If this payment method is unacceptable then the standard charge of three human souls is acceptable if payed within a two-day period of delivery."

Achilles hammered on Fen's door repeatedly as he yelled; "Fenrir, it's Achilles and Balthazaar, open up."

An un-suitably long time before the door opened in front of Achilles, revealing a dazed looking Fen, who stared at the duo as if they were a pair of ghosts. Achilles barged passed him and into his room without waiting for an invitation, he wasn't one for waiting around after all, and he didn't much care if Fenrir had company or not.

As it happened Fenrir did have company, in the form of Faolin who stood at the foot of Fenrir's large four poster bed looking at several sets of expensive outfits that lay on the bed. He looked towards the door as Achilles strolled in and smiled at the golden warrior, and Balthazaar behind him; "Oh, I didn't expect you two for another few days. Good to see you again."

"You too Faolin." Achilles grunted as he came to stand next to the huge Dragon Rider, looking down with obvious distaste.

Before Achilles could voice his opinion on the garments on the bed Balthazaar embraced Fen and loudly greeted the youth; "Fenny! I can't believe you're getting married, and so young! What a charmer you are, eh? Give Yumi the ol' sparkly eyes did you, eh?"

Achilles didn't wait to hear Fenrir's reply before he dipped his head towards the clothing on the bed and grunted; "I hope you don't plan on marrying in those rags."

Fen, still in somewhat of a daze, narrowed his eyes as he walked towards Achilles, and in turn the displayed clothes; "Why? What's wrong with them? Faolin payed a lot of money for those, I think they're really cool looking."

"Cool? Men aren't supposed to look 'cool' on their wedding day Fenrir." Achilles shook his head; "A real man should wear ornate armour to his wedding, it shows both wealth and gives an air of strength to those that are watching. You're father would have married in armor, so would I, and any real warrior. A breastplate across yer chest, and a sword at yer thigh plus a women in yer bed, make it a complete day boy!"

Fen blushed at the mention of Yumi in his bed, but seemed to take Achilles comments on board nonetheless; "That seems like a good idea...But I don't have any armor, never mind armor fit for my wedding! And Faolin already spent so much money on these, I'd feel bad if I didn't put them to good use."

"Don't lad, it's your wedding day. If you want to marry in armor, then you'll marry in armor, I have plenty of money. Don't you worry about ol' Faolin's coin purse." Faolin said with a smirk.

Achilles looked up from the bed and further up still so that he was looking Faolin in the eye, with a slight humor in his voice Achilles asked; "Just where do you get all of this money Faolin? As far as I know you've got no tradeskills and nor do I know of any investments of yours. Do tell us your secret."

Faolin chuckled at that, then tapped his pointed nose; "I'm an eight foot tall, Dragon Riding, spell-sword who's about sixty years old but looks not even half as old, gathering a wealth of funds comes easy compared to the rest."

Before Achilles could reply Balthazaar interrupted him again, that really did annoy Achilles when he done that, but the demon was hard to break out of a habit; "Like money matters! What we need now is a cool looking set of armor for Fenny, shopping time guys!"

"He does not want to look cool goddamit..." Achilles grumbled, but Balthazaar had already grabbed Fenrir by the wrist and dragged the youth out of the room.

Faolin chuckled slightly then sighed and began to follow the demon's lead; "Well, it seems I'll be parting with more of my precious coin today.."

Achilles was not going shopping, he would die before he done that. Instead he elected to toss Fenrir's new garments aside and sit down on the youths bed in his dirty, dusty, leather trousers. With a heavy sigh he fell backwards into the soft embrace of the fine feather bed and closed his eyes for a little rest...

Jasper had been walking down the corridor, in a bit of a mood, when he saw Balthazaar dragging Fenrir out of Fens room. He then saw Faolin following the pair.

"Where're you guys off too at this time of day?" He asked, mostly serious, but with a slight jokeyness in his tone.

Balthazaar continued to drag Fenrir off, having not heard Jasper's question at all. All Fenrir could do was smile apologetically as he was dragged away and around a corner...

Faolin however stopped, smiling and shaking his head in the direction of the now vanished duo. He turned back to face Jasper and just shrugged; "Balthazaar's in a bit of a rush, excuse his rudeness.

It's good to see you again Jasper, we're just off to grab some ceremonial armor for Fenrir's wedding. I assume you've heard about it yes? You're, of course, invited, Fenrir just hasn't had the time to make invitations and such."

"Ceremonial armor eh? I'd suggest a symbol of something to go on his chest, something that represents him." Jasper replied. He knew he'd be going to the wedding anyway. If the King was going to be there, Jasper would be as well. He wondered if the Assassin knew. "Leaving the door open though?" He asked, seeing Fens door was still open.

That particular Assassin, John, finished his supply of alcolhol, being slightl tipsy, and appeared in his room in the palace. As soon as he appeared, his fell onto the bed face first. The reason why was unknown, even to him.

"Oh yeah..." Faolin said, somewhat embarrassed that he had forgotten to close the door, he rectified that issue.

"I'm sure those two will find something presentable..." Faolin said, with half a mind saying that he was stupid for thinking that.

"So, what are you getting as a wedding gift then?" Faolin asked with a grin, wondering if Jasper had even bothered to think of one yet.

Leaf looked out in front of him he sees a lot of differently coloured tents of this strange desert area. Soldiers wearing different armour and carrying around standard weapons were going through and through in this encampment, others had formed groups and talked casually with other military people, then again there were those soldiers who are led by uptight commanding figures that make them clean their tents up, make them stand in a straight line shoulder to shoulder and yell at them to fix their unimportant or little mistakes. This encampment has the current population of forty thousand soldiers, that's quite a sum for a 'typical encampment' and the food supply to maintain an army this size must be ridiculous as well.

I have to find Sir Tillion, Leaf looked at the several tents that seem all alike and what not. With the chatter and voices of men filling the dry air.
In this chicken farm? Leaf face palmed himself.

He knows that this is not going to be easy, because he'd have to search, everyone one of those tents, ask soldiers under his command and maybe be the crap out of officers into giving him information of his last location. He hesitated for about ten minutes before moving on, realizing that that is his mission and what not. Maybe he'll eventually find him in this lot of chickens. He walked into the relatively narrow streets and began his search.

"Don't really know the kid, so don't really know what to get him." Jasper replied truthfully. He wasn't good at Weddings.

John however had already gotten a gift. What was it? It was a small, unused Fort in the south West of Sardo. Last John checked, there was no one there.

"I've got him something I think he'll like, but then again I know him much better than you do." Faolin said with a shrug; "Just get some sort of memento of your time together, he'd like that I think...."

--

After several long hours of blindly stumbling around Leaf happened upon a light blue tent that was larger than most, but smaller than the huge pavilions erected for the Lords. Outside this tent there was a large campfire where a few dozen soldiers sat talking, and sharpening their weapons.

However, the flap of the tent was folded upwards and the interior was visible from where Leaf was walking by, in the inside he would be able to see Sir Tillion standing over a large desk looking at a map of the surrounding area...

So, what have you been up to since last time we spoke?" Faolin asked, wondering if Jasper was better dealing with the news of his father's profession. Frankly he still didn't see what the problem was, but knew there must be more to it than he currently knows.

Leaf slowly walked inside the tent. The atmosphere here is a lot different than outside it, It kinda felt like he had invaded someone's privacy or went in a dangerous territory that he shouldn't have entered at all. He walked softly light and he feels awkward in this tent, unlike the other tents this is spacious enough for him not to touch the 'roof' or 'ceiling' of the tent. The must be of some importance if he has to meet him personally.

Sorry if I am inruding but I have a message for you or atleastI had been ordered to look for you.

Sir Tillion lifted his well-aged eyes from the table, seeing Leaf brought a smile to his wrinkled old face; "Leaf, I was wondering when you would arrive actually."

Sir Tillion's hair was more or less fully grey now and was beginning to thin at the front, but was still long at the back and tied into a grey straw looking pony tail at the back. His face was weary looking and his body looked a lot frailer than it ever had, yet he still managed to look like a fairly competent warrior somehow in his light leather armor with a sword strapped to his hip.

"It is good to see you again, I believe the last time I saw you was at that tournament all those months ago, wasn't it?" Sir Tillion said with a smile as he extended his hands over the table for Leaf to shake...

-

"A visit home, eh? That's good, I wish I could go back to my home town but I'm rather worried that no one would recognize me anymore!" Faolin laughed slightly at that thought, wondering how many of the people he knew way back then were even still alive. They would recognize his height, he knew that much, but other than that Faolin couldn't look more different from Markus Larkoan if he tried.

"Are you planning on being at this battle when it swings around?" Faolin asked, growing slightly more serious as he drew the conversation towards fighting.

"Long it has been indeed." Leaf had said as he walked towards the table that stands between him and Sir Tillion. SIr Tillion had extened out his arm and palm waiting in the air. The large man stretched out his new arm and began to shake hands with SIr Tillion, the greeting is complete. gave a head nod as he looked up towards the face of the older man.

Brunnex was busy roraring at the sky and trying to regain some kind of balance in the air. I CAN BLOODY MAKE IT! He roared at the worm wondering if all this hassle was really worth it. Then again hed always wanted something cool to rde into battle. Brun had got a blasted Dragon after all.

Finally when he got upright again the humming bird appeared. He listened to what it had to say and took the goggles inspecting them lightly. How do you want the souls? He asked the Hummingbird. Drachmas werent so hard to find if one knew where to look but souls, dependant exactly on what Hepaestus was looking for, were bloody everywhere.

"Standard soul transaction laws apply to any souls used to purchase this item." Was all the recording of Hephaestus said in reply to Brunnex's question.

Standard transaction laws were pretty loose actually, so long as the human soul was indeed a human soul and was properly transferred over to the ownership of the new owner then all things went good. Of course, the tricky part of using this method of payment would be acquiring the ample amount of human souls. Killing someone is easy as can be, actually getting their soul out from under the nose of Sazh before they reach the underworld is another task entirely..

Okay, okay. Everybody STAY! He ordered and teleported away. Appearing in the village that Brun had once gassed just so he could have a nice fight with Brunnex he took a deep sigh and averted himself from being sick. Something Brun had never truly mastered. (it pays to be a bio-mage you know)

He held up a strange onyx tone in his left hand (the very same soul stone he had planned to transport Bahamut's soul to his reanimation chamber) and held his right hand out. Three passing male elves suddenly exploded. A wispy, white substance was sucked out of their dying bodies into the onyx stone. Brunnex teleported back to the worm once again steadying himself. He held the stone out to the bird. The three souls flew out of the stone and into the humming bird.

Pleasure doing business.

The Hummingbird released it's grip on the goggles and they began to fall to the ground as it popped out of existence once more.

-

"There is always a choice. Albeit a bit of a one-sided thinking process in cases like this, a choice remains." Faolin said continuing with his slight-serious tone.

"John will be present at the battle, as will his assassins, will this be a problem for you? Your father will most likely be there as well." Faolin hoped that it wouldn't turn into a fight against themselves during the upcoming battle if Jasper saw his father and John...

"Okay, I'll see you at the wedding then." Faolin said with a smile, and then he turned around and began jogging after Balthazaar and Fenrir before they got too far away and he lost them. That would be most bad, losing Balthazaar and Fenrir a city this size, that could get dangerous actually...

--

"What a time to see each other again..." Tillion released his grip on Leaf's hand with a hearty sigh, lowering his gaze back onto the largely detailed map on the table in front of him. Unu'keth was marked down in the centre and a rough area of ten miles in each direction was surrounding it on all sides, with added hills and such when was appropriate.

"The problem with this damn sand is that everything keeps changing, I'm not sure if we have any real tactical advantage here other than the gift of preparation." Tillion said with slightly hopelessness; "The ground is un-even and too soft for a strong cavalry charge, the heat will tire our soldiers out quickly in their full armor and the sand will obviously pose a problem for sight and irritation during the battle. The desert people will be fighting in our mix, but it is only really them that are used to such harsh conditions as these. The rest of our men shall suffer due to these conditions, of that I am sure..."

Resting his palms on the table Tillion leaned forward and groaned, rolling his shoulders; "I'm too old for this...War is a young man's game, I should be off in some castle somewhere relaxing, not here planning another bloody war.

Still, the next generation is rising quickly...Won't be too long until I can get a rest I'm sure.."

The large man shrugged with his strong shoulders, He looked at the man in a different perspective now that he started to talk with his own mood or atmosphere. He could feel the old man's disappointment as he had mention of him relaxing in his golden years rather than fight a war that could easily kill him. If Leaf was in his sandals, he too would feel a bit offended and frustrated.

I too am growing old, I am in my mid forties and I keep feeling this strange emotion within in my consciousness, if I could describe it, I would say that it feels golden or mature as they say it. This feeling grows slightly each passing day ever since I turned 38, I am now 45 and I am telling you this. Leaf folded his arms and gave a shrug while looking to the right side of this tent with his eyes upward.

'We' of this generation have done a lot already within the past 20 years, He faced Sir Tillion again and kept his arms folded together against his thick cchest.
now we have to let our next of kin handle the rest. Leaf grinned as he started to think of his two kids.

"Tao was the nearest thing to kin I ever had." Tillion said with a sorrowful frown. It had been years since his friend had died, and yet Tillion stilled mourned his loss each day, it was not often a man like Shang Tao was born into this world after all. The fact that Tillion knew he would see Tao again in a few days made this battle all the more painful for him, for he knew they would be meeting as enemy's this time, and he also knew that he had not the strength to even give Tao the mercy of a quick death before he shamed himself and caused pain and strife for those he loves.

"The youth of today shine brightly indeed, perhaps even more so than our own generation."

"I had thought our generation a magical anomaly, with beings like Tao and Strange being born so close to each other I was sure such a thing would not happen again for a great length of time. Yet, these younglings show more promise than I ever did at their age. Perhaps it is the need to match our generation that drives them forward..."

"You have sons, don't you Leaf?" Tillion asked suddenly, looking at the man with eyes full of remorse. Children had never been on Tillion's list of things to do when he was younger, he had never found the time to start a family of us own, and in his old age he had learned to regret that more and more with each passing day..

Leaf read the man's face calmly, he could feel the guilt that this man is 'spreading on his face and reaction. He is unsure whether or not he should continue talking about it in front of him, but Leaf felt that he should try to have a normal conversation before things get really hectic. Leaf dove into his memories, the birth of his children and what is happening to them as they get older by each passing day.

I have one son and a daughter. He paused, thinking to himself how the old man could have guessed right. Meh, he doesn't mind it all that much.

Having a child is pretty hard I have to admit, but as they get older, they perform miracles that I could never do. his grin changed into big a hearty smile.

"Children are walking miracles..." Tillion said wistfully.

"Still." He said, shaking himself out of his old-man-chatter mode. With a forced smile he stood up straight again and placed his left hand on the pommel of his sword as he chuckled slightly; "I'm sure these old bones have got at least one last fight in em', they'll just need to I'm afraid."

"Can't have the new generation saying we're weak, now can we?"

Leaf laughed out loud a rather joyous laughter of agreement. He also isn't part of the old man'y generation but he can get the gist of what this man was saying to hima fter all. After all he considers himself an old man and knows he'll eventually loose all of this power as the golden age draws nearer.

Ah... He calmed himself and and walked closer to the table.

I can only guess that you are incharge of this encampment, might as well give me my orders.

*The worm seemed to stare with some hostility up at Brunnex, waiting. *

*Meanwhile, in Unu'Kuth, Tourivil stared at a slowly rotating ball of molten steel which hovered in the air before him. Occasionally, a small bubble would rise to the surface of the ball, and pop. Tourivil stared intensely at this little ball, as if waiting for some inspiration...*

"I don't have much in the way of orders, if truth be told." Sir Tillion said with a wave his hand hands; "All I can advise you to do is make sure your unit is ready, their weapons are sharpened and their armored polished. Other than that we're just playing a waiting game really."
