I found it unnerving that in a town with thousands and thousands of people, there would be no avenue for the common begger. Every town has them. Why should Torn be any different? It is just inconceivable that a city of this size would have no beggers!
To that end, I have acquired permission from none other than Sweeney_Todd to post a beggers role play right here in the RP forum. As such, this should be considered a beginner's Role Play and will have clearly defined rules. Those rules are of the Original Post, and of the forums themselves. Therefore, as I have respected your threads, I shall ask the same courtesy in return.
Do not troll this thread, nor post in any way which would tend to deviate from the required elements of successful participation.
Any trolling of this thread will be immediately reported, and without hesiatation. If you do not understand how to role-play a beggar, read other begs until you do.
You may PM me your reasonable questions about this thread before posting in it.
However, you may instead wish to mail Sweeney_Todd your questions, optionally using the subject header "I has a caek is bttr den pie" to ensure a prompt and courteous reply. This would be recommended in the event you are unsure of my ability to Role Play a filthy begger.
Required Elements of Successful Participation:
- You must beg (being filthy is optional). In every post, you must beg. You may talk about how you had half an orange for breakfast as you were walking up to the Begger's Corner but each post must include begging before the post is submitted
- You may beg people not to hosp you, to hosp you, to bounty you, to donate to you, or even to give you a Pi while posting in this thread, however, you are not to mail anyone posting in the thread, nor as a result of viewing it. All begging, statements, or descriptions should be primarily of your begger, who you may or may not wish to name
- You may describe your attire, so long as you do not deviate from the PG-13 guidelines which I have posted for your convenience in the Role-Play General Discussion thread, found elsewhere in the Role-Play forum. You may not describe anything in a sexually-explicit manner, and, for the purpose of begging or posting in this thread at all, nudity will not be allowed for any reason
- You may describe your body, with the same cautionary restriction against body parts being used for anything in any manner sexually suggestive, erotic or pornographic
- You may have a monkey, and play an organ-grinder, provided you have at least one monkey plushie in your display. Obviously, if you do not have a display, you are not eligible for an organ-grinder under this provision, nor a monkey. No items, nor donator status, nor use of a display, nor any other requirement excepting login shall be made which would disallow a begger from using a cup, hat or collection plate.
- Prostitution and Cyber will not be tolerated, so don't even consider violationg rules that apply to the entire site here. You will be immediately reported, and hopefully banned for violating this rule.
- You may not beg for any money or item with the intention of obtaining them with respect to Torn City, or in real life
- You must not impersonate any Staff member or other player.
- Any discussion of this thread should be presented in Role Play General Discussion unless it can be presented here in the form of begging, which is strongly discouraged, as this would tend do be distracting
- Do not flood. Do not Double post. Wait and let someone else post theirs before posting again.
- My first post will be an example of a post that would be acceptable under my guidelines. You may use different characters, but not in the same post. Take turns, and do not post again until someone else has had a chance.
- All donations sent, by players or by trade shall be considered random gifts or donations and not having been conditional upon participation on this thread, This means if you send a begger something, do not post what you sent here. You are a begger. You must beg.
- If you do not wish to participate, please simply do not reply. There are plenty of other crappy threads if you don't like mine

Hi, my name is Fujiko and I have $-82,400,403.
It's a sad story why that is. You see, I had to leave, and my servants refused to take holiday. When I got back home, I had a lot of debt.
I used to live in my own Private Island. Hell, I still do.
But how can I have more drugs with this debt?
I need rehab, I need another chance.
I was close to having max hunting skill, but this debt is preventing me from doing that even now.

My name is DelGirl and I am in deep doggy doo doo atm.
You see I thought I was onto a great money making scheme as I found two players who didn't trust each other and needed a middle man to negotiate one of the biggest deals TC has ever seen.
This is where I stepped in, I agreed to be this middle man and act as go between, Mr X would give me x amount in exchange for Mr Z giving me the most beautiful and rarest item in TC. I had agreed a fee with Mr Z for the item and hell all I did was double the price when I told Mr X. I mean a Trotter has to make a profit somehow right?
Well Mr X wouldn't give me the money until he had the item and Mr Z wouldn't give me the item until he had the money. See my problem??
Now a Delly doesn't let oppurtunities pass her by so I sold everything I had to make this money up. My home, my guns and my soul (which only got me a measly $5).
I gave this money to Mr Z pretending it was Mr X's money and I thought everything had gone cushty......
No.
The double crossing swines stitched me up! They were in it together all along and they ran off with my money and I'm stuck with a Buddha statue worth nothing.
I am having to scrounge the streets for a few dollars, steal jackets just to keep warm in my PI which someone took pity on me and leased me. Although it's nice, I can't afford the heating or the electricity so I'm having chocolate bars I've stolen for breakfast, lunch but not dinner cos I'm not that good a thief.
Take pity on an innocent person trying to make an honest living in hard times. I don't know how some ppl can sleep at night.
I've got nothing, Grandad's tellies, Reliant Robin, the booze....the booze is all gone. As for my body, I used to be on page 3 in the Torn CIty times everyday until the chocolate bars took their toll.
Next time you're spending money on some item you don't really want, think of me....won't ya?

Oh please, my goodness pleeeease...have pitty on me, you see I can no longer afford my drug habit or my daily upkeep fees for my 4500 happy Private Island with all the staff hired.
