A cowlick is when your hair grows a different direction and to me it grows up at the back of my head this is like when you wake up and your hair standing up but for me its 24/7, alot of people have this. Does anyone know a cure?

I've ttied with water but it dont work,
Alot of gel is needed to tske down but then it comes back up when i wet it.
Any ideas??

This. Setting your head on fire works just as well as shaving, though, and you'll have a better story to tell the grandkids.

Nothing. I have one at the front of my hair so just have a really floppy quiff all of the time! I've solved it by having my hair long enough to make it not stick up, grow your hair slightly longer and gravity will beat the cows lick!

Setting it on fire will surely leave you with a massive blister though. That doesn't sound like a very comfortable situation to me. On the other hand I suppose it is a viable solution to the problem.

Besides shaving your head there is always the options to grow it long in the back, or keep it military style short. I vote Mullet!

I have one at the front. Instead of it going forward like the rest, one side goes sideways like a wave. So I just keep my hair really short.

I believe you're describing a 'ducks arse'. A cow lick refers to the front being unruly...much like the '*****' effect in Something About Mary.

The '*****' effect can be reversed using more *****.

Or a 'Teflon/Silicon' type hair treatment, such as 'Frizz Ease'

Depends what you're into really

Your cow's lick is a result of hair follicles angled at different degrees and/or direction to the main body of follicles on your head. It does not change when you cut it, as you are just reducing the length of the hair that grows from the hair follicle cavity.

Think of it like a cannon, it will only shoot the hair, in the angle of the barrel. To change it would be to change the way follicles form in your scalp. Perhaps possible through some form of cosmetic therapy, but superficial methods like cutting/styling/straightening etc will not correct it, only mask it temporarily. I suggest you get used to it, and figure out ways to make it work for you.

Either cut it, or let your hair grow long, if it is long enough it will not stick up.

That point is irrelevant, you can mask it with styling techniques, but to manually change the way your hair follicles arrange themselves requires some form of therapy, either waxing or electrolysis.

Clamp the hairs in the cows lick very tight with something. Leave it for a long time clapped facing the way you want the hairs to grow. Do it over a few weeks and the roots will be pulled and set in a new way and the direction of growth will change.

I done this and now mine is gone.

I'm going to suggest you use hair gel/wax/spray for a few days to get your hair back to normal.

A cowlick cannot be removed. Really, really short hair and really, really long hair makes them less noticeable.

I got sumthing like this but it's called a "Duck Fluff", mine is like at the frickin centre on top of my head and it'll stand up and curl back
Only way I can hide it is a lot of wax/gel, wear a hat (which I do most of the time) or cut my hair short.. This is a problem for me though cause most of the time I can't be arsed getting a haircut when I really need 1, as for right now, was meant to have 1 about 6 months ago but I keep on saying " I'll get 1 next weekend"
