Judging by his pics he's still pretty young, so its expected. I was cocky to till life slapped me in the face a few times. The whole patriotism thing is what makes me lmao. if he only knew how lil his gov. though about him as an individual. But hey some lessons ya can't preach, just gotta let em experience it first hand.

Is it ever a government's job to care for someone *as an individual*, though? I expect them to govern the country, not come round with chicken soup when I've got flu, or give me a hug when I'm feeling crappy.

Touche. I'll give ya that. I was referring more to the whole patriotic thing & identifying ones self with a gov. regime, as opposed to acting with some individuality. Im American & i don't go around waving that whole im Red, White, & Blue shit.

Unless of curse im trying to piss off some British people. Cause it really does seem to erk the hell out ya guys for some reason.

As a Nation, you do seem to be way more patriotic than us Brits though. You guys have flags every-frigging-where. Mind you, you've not had your own flag for that long, so I'll let you off.

Apart from a small but vocal chest-thumping, flag-waving minority, we're mainly a bit embarrassed by the whole thing.

Man you ain't lying. We do have flags everywhere. & not just flags many bumper stickers as well.

I imagine it would have been off the scale patriotism with the Cold War still in full swing.

One of the funnier things I've read is that Americans loved 99 luftballons, then when it was released in English people were up in arms when they realised they'd been dancing to a story about Nuclear annihilation.

Shooting happens

American thinking - Clearly there are not enough guns

Other peoples thinking - there are too many guns

Everyone should be aloud to have guns in school. That would make school more fun.

No, I think some teachers would abuse of their power, and what the f**k would you expect a golden aged teacher to do with a gun?
