Not martial arts but I've done tooo much street fighting -.-

I would start boxing right now if my hand wasn't buggered from all the damage in the past, and to add to the damage I actually broke a finger last Sept' and it healed like it was broken so I haven't bent the damn thing since Sept'

This is slightly off topic but I'm gonna tell this story anyway.

A few years back, I broke my little finger on my right hand and never had it set, so the tip points inwards at about a 45 degree angle. When I broke the same finger on my left hand, I decided I wanted a matching set so I set it with the tip pointing inwards at a 45 degree angle.

This story has no relevance to anything whatsoever, and isn't really all that interesting, I just got reminded of it when i read your post.

How is mine off topic? I said I wanted to do boxing but can't due to that reason...

Question: Is it considered disrespectful to wear my training uniform to another M.A class?
Okay, my friend does Karate (have no clue what kind) and one day I want to tag along with him to see how he trains and have a look at what techniques they do and may have some fun in free sparring.

Anyway, I am a green belt in Tae Kwon-Do, and I was wondering since my uniform is designed for training purposes, if I can wear my do bok when visiting Karate class? Is it disrespectful? I've been hunting all over the internet to find the answer but no luck. Though, I watch YouTube videos of other arts sparring together in other martial art dojangs or training areas or whatever and they wear their do bok, or whatever martial art training uniform when visiting these classes to spar.

Thanks.

It would only be disrespectful if the uniform is torn, incomplete or not worn properly. If you wish to challenge another martial arts school, it is customary to wear the uniform of the school you represent. Since this is just for fun practise sparring, its no big deal.

I am not promoting TKD, and being cocky. I just like to train and representing my art when training for fun with a similar style.

I have experienced the same as well. In my first class of taekwondo, I brought my karate gi as well as the matching white belt. After a couple of training session, the sahbumnim personally asked me to purchase a new set of taekwondo clothes and belt for the class.

Not only because the apparent and model is different than that of karate, according to him, wearing the uniform in proper manner also count as a mental training tbat show respect, discipline, and unity. By wearing karate gi in taekwondo class, the practitioner shows unwillingness to distinguish which martial state he is currently learning, as well as emitting a bit of provocation aura that promotes superiority (even if the said person did that inadvertently).

In my light of understanding, similar code of conduct also can be seen in karate. When a practitioner come visiting another dojo, the visitor shall be asked to wear white belt, even if he is a black belt seventh dan. Maybe it seems dull, but do it for the sake of harmony and altruism.

This is correct. You want to wear your school's uniform to challenge other schools, but doing so implies no intention of joining or learning another martial art.

Sorry if I didn't make that clear in my original answer. Wearing another uniform basically implies that your school/art is superior and that you're there to fight and shame the master in front of his students. It's quite a strong statement, but doing this successfully will often bring students to your school from the defeated one. Of course, doing that hinges on you winning.

In practise, nobody cares what you wear on your first visit. Going back a second time implies wanting to join, and as stated above they will ask you to wear their uniform, pay their dues, etc.

Mouse, I would LOVE to come against you in one of your 'street fights'
We would never get paired in controlled conditions; 6 ft 1, 210lbs Vs what looks to be 5 ft nothing 110lbs

Peace

then you should try me.

6'1" 215lbs

instead of wanting to pick on someone smaller, try someone your own size.

You're 40 years of age with a very high body-fat percentage.
I would run rings around you, cut down to 10% body-fat and you'd be like 170lb's

Peace

6 ft. 235 lbs. I got $1000 that says my fat ass would trample you like a wild bull any day of the week.

6,4. 226lbs. nightclub bouncer...since we were all showing our e peens i thought i would join in and help Ed, this will be a great group hug

Ok so Evil-Duck and Azrael v Mouse, CaptainObvious and BuckWyld

I hope you guys sell tickets/post this on YouTube/something

Let me in on the action bitches.
I'm 4ft 3, 127lb.

No fight is complete without a midget..

Why would you want to watch 5 guys standing around, looking a bit awkward?

I doubt that's how it would end up. One of them would say something, words would be exchanged and something worth watching would happen, especially after having travelled to the same place, at the same time. If nothing else, they sound like some pretty hot guys, I might want to watch them stand around anyway (if their self-descriptions are even remotely accurate).

I'm sure other people would like to see the gun show...

Firstly, age has nothing to do in this conversation. Age is irrelevant, I am fitter now than I have been in years and run rings around guys half my age in the club I go to.

Body fat? never checked it, don't care to. I am happy with my size and weight, as is my doctor who had to sign me off before my last bout. I'm hardly fat, nor have I ever been. my cholesterol is below average, and my blood pressure is excellent. not many people my age or 10 years younger than I am can say that truthfully.

So, with those trivialities aside, I would say you'd have little or no chance in a fight with me. I would chance to say that you'd last less than one minute. But, considering the fact that you are a habitual liar, plus the huge ego you carry around with you, you'll no doubt attempt to retaliate with some derogatory remark. So be it. I know what the outcome would be. Chances are you do too and you'd hate it.

beans.
