I keep hearing about this story but I don't really follow sports that closely so I don't know the details. I'll have to go check it out, it sounds interesting.

It really isn't all that interesting... but then some people actually follow the Kardashians, and Trainwreck Lohan, so maybe you will find it interesting... who knows?

Well .. for some reason this "sports" story is bubbling all over the internet.
The problem is that there is much evidence to suggest that Manti Te'o knew that his girlfriend was fake and participated in the hoax because...
1. He is unable to reveal his homosexuality in fear of ruining his carreer
2. He enjoyed portraying the myth perpetuated by the media
3. Some other reason that we don't know
But also ... there is evidence to suggest he was completely trolled by a faker and believed that he had found the perfect internet girlfried.
So ... yeah ... we probably won't ever know what "really" happened because there are plenty of economic interests at play in this... and I don't really care ... except...
This story is gaining more attention than something that could possibly be a really big deal.
Apparently, The Notre Dame Football Team are a bunch of rapists.
Less than a day into the Manti Te’o revelations, we’ve heard more about a fake dead girlfriend of a Notre Dame football player than a real dead girl. Lizzy Seeberg committed suicide, not long after being intimidated by Notre Dame football players for reporting a sexual assault by one of their teammates. A second woman who was taken to the hospital for a rape exam declined to formally accuse another Notre Dame football player after getting a series of bullying texts from players.
But let's focus on poor Manti Te'o instead. Totally more interesting.
Also ... Lots of TC players really, really, really, really, really, really hate fake girls.
So I thought I would post an interview with the real life faker... He went on Dr. Phil and said that he was in love with Manti ... he also said that he was the victim of sexual abuse.
But whatever we talk about in this thread ... let's be like the real media ... nobody mention anything about any of the "real" women who have made criminal complaints... getting to the bottom of the Manti Te'o / Ronaiah Tuiasosopo thing is totally more important than bringing rapists to justice!
