I am writing this article as a guest blogger of a friend. I need help with idioms and some words so I will be asking them here in this thread.

What is a word that describes a person who runs after scandals, like a lawyer who runs after scandalous affairs and start new lawsuits for publicity to be famous? Something similar to what a paparazzi does

Also what do you call the action that some politicians or a celebrities does when they talk about a problem and even mentions it for personal or political gain, not for cause itself?
In arabic we call them they are trading with the blood of the victims.

I am what I am because I am not what I am not.

First part, there is no definite idioms that explain all. Of it. But it may be 'ride the wind' as the person use the opportunity from being infamous to be even more famous.

Second part, try 'wrap him/herself in the flag'' as it means : If someone wraps themselves in the flag, they pretend to be doing something for patriotic reasons or out of loyalty, but their real motives are selfish. ('Drape yourself in the flag' is an alternative form of this idiom) . I bet you/your friend blog topic is about someone in a political party anyway, so it may do the trick.

If I'm honest I don't know any idioms that fit those descriptions.

You could make one up like "scandal whore lawyer" (I'm sure you can do better) or wait for something else. I wouldn't understand the idioms that Aramis states without them being explained to me.

"Trading in blood of victims." sounds hella cool to me, but, again it would have to be explained.

Well yeah, we have a similar one that translates to exactly ride the waves but it is slang in arabic and not used in semi-formal articles.

Why don't you just stick to describing what they did instead of looking for names to call them? Leave that to Gawker.

Muckraker. If you're looking for a term specific to lawyers, ambulance chaser.

Also what do you call the action that some politicians or a celebrities does when they talk about a problem and even mentions it for personal or political gain, not for cause itself?

Dissembling, rabble-rousing, demagoguery.
