So I am having trouble staying up in lectures. Not gonna go in depth into the subjects but its usually a while after I have sat down I feel drowsy and miss out on everything and I have to play catch up. I sleep fairly early and get about 7 hours of sleep a day. I drink like a small bottle of pop just to keep my self awake. I have found that breathing deep keeps me awake but that's a fairly recent development. Any one have any suggestions to stay awake?

Not meth but drugs are always an option, but I am terrified of the consequences to my body.

Cold or allergy pills that contain psuedophedrine.
Just don't buy too many of them or the feds will think you're making meth.

Yep. Keep yourself from fapping during the week and you'll be too tightly wound to fall asleep in lectures. Caution: May not work if having regular sex.

I'd say lack of sex makes me more irritable and aggressive than alert.
If meth and crack aren't options, I'd go with LSD. You'll still end up in a gutter but you'll think it's a canoe.

I looked it up, sounds like its being used a lot by people but I am still queasy on the idea or at least I haven't reached the point where this would look like a good suggestion. Thanks though.

Uhh... You can try doing dip? Nicotine can help you with concentration.
That or maybe just eating better, dieting, exercise...

Yeah how much do you eat, and what? If you exercise a reasonable amount you really wanna be eating between 2500-3200 calories per day, in the form of three decent meals.
Try taking a daily vitamin supplement as well.

Pick up an energy drink. Seriously. I've had a lot of luck with Monster- specifically, the "Rehab" flavors. I'll take one in the morning and sip it all day- literally one can for about 10 hours, through all my classes- and I find that keeps me awake enough to pay attention. I don't recommend chugging them, you don't need to. Eating right can help as well.

I eat PB&J or cereal with a glass of milk in the morning, a sandwich for lunch and a big dinner. My first two meals for the day are routine for the entire weekday. Cant say if it amounts to 2-3k calories though
Vitamin supplements sounds good. I know someone who takes it, I will ask him about it.
VampireMage & DeadEconomist - Though I dislike the idea, its definitely something I am thinking of doing after seeing people near me drink them. Also, I don't even drink coffee.

I've tried 5 hour energy, never had much success with it. In any case, how often are you needing a boost? Energy drinks are ok maybe once or twice a week, but are less of a good idea every day. For that, sleep cycle (going to be and waking up at the same time, usually the easy part) and diet are more likely to help. I've also found that it helps me to wake up a little earlier than I normally would, it gives me time to wake up. 'course, that also means an earlier bedtime.

Cut out the sugar. Exercise regularly. Coffee and/or tea.
If that doesn't work, can I recommend meth?

I need a boost in almost every class! I start feeling sleepy after sitting for a while but when we go on breaks and I walk around for a bit, I feel awake and alert but as soon as my ass hits the seat and the lecure continues, I feel sleepy. I get a decent amount of sleep (7-8h) and I wake up at 6 or 7 am during the weekdays. :[

When i work 12+ hr days I have to drink 2L of Red Rooster (2x1L bottles) minimum, it's a lot of Caffeine intake but it's needed when you're up at 05:30 out the door by 6 working by 7 till gone 18:00 with only 1 break around 12:00, they are killers a lot of manual labour and heavy lifting but got to get the contract finished And drinking plenty of water throughout the day because always sweating makes you feel dizzy.
But yeah -.- a Red Rooster or a can of monster would do the trick, caffeine is key to staying away not good for you buy works

This.
I take Concerta and even with a low dosage I am awake late.
I take it around noon or 1pm and am usually up at 5am or 6.

• Put hot sauce in your eyes - crazy method used by some US soldiers
• Keep pinching yourself or tug on some of the hairs on your arm
• Have something to eat during class to keep you constantly busy, preferably something like chips or candy that also has sugar in it but nothing really greasy. Eating spicy foods can also work but depends on how much you can take.
• If and when your teacher/professor isn't doing a lecture putting on headphones when they're not looking and playing music on high volume can help a little. One of my friends used a directional speaker for the longest time to play music while his teacher was giving a lecture and only he could hear the music but no one else could .

Snapping a reasonably tense rubber band on the inside of your wrist when your concentration starts slipping may prove helpful. Best wishes.

it seems to me you're sleep deprived ... do you also get drowsy after heavy meals? do you use the snooze button regularly?

for some people 7 hours isn't enough ... I, for one, do OK with 7 hours sleep but function much better with 8
